I love food chow city! The food is always great and tasty. And the staff is always so nice and polite. I have anxiety so I dont like to order over the phone a lot. But from the phone call to the delivery all the staff just makes my expierence enjoyable. Highly reccomend
Our first time ordering from Food Chow City. Had six entrees, several soups and egg rolls and a n order of steamed veggies. Every dish was flavorful and delicious. The chicken in the General Tsos was large and very generously portioned and tasty. Same for the tofu in the General Tsos bean curd. Pepper steak and hot sour and dumpling soups were perfect and the pork lo mein was among the best we have had. The prices were reasonable and delivery was awesome. This was a celebration meal and could not have been better. We are very happy customers.
Super friendly staff! Had the garlic chicken lunch special with pork fried rice and hot and sour soup. The chicken was cooked perfectly and had a really nice spicy kick to it, plenty of veggies. The fried rice was really good, large chunks of pork in it. The hot and sour soup is some of the best Ive ever had. Its worth the trip just for the soup. Looking forward to my next visit.
Absolutely amazing service and staff! These people are kind hearted people with a lot to give! The food is really good for non MSG chinese food!!! We have ordered a variety of food over the years from food chow city and its always been delightful! The kitchen staff is great, the delivery guy is great! Always a pleasure!!! Would highly recommend!!!!
Got the general tsos chicken with fried rice. The chicken tasted exactly like orange chicken, which is fine but not what I ordered obviously. And the rice was VERY mushy and soupy with the sauce they put on it, could be great for some but not my cup of tea. The egg rolls were good but K&Q definitely has better ones. Overall, go to K&Q.
Best Chinese food in town! My favorite is the beef lo mien lunch special that comes with fried rice, its less than $8.00! and is enough food to cover 2 whole meals for me. It cost less than a meal at McDonalds for way more food. Will forever be my go-to spot for a quick warm meal. Thank you for your service and amazing food!!! The service is also anyways excellent!
The food was of poor quality. Had the chicken and broccoli with pork fried rice. The rice was extremely dry like its been there all day, no flavor of any kind on the meal. My wife had the General Tso chicken and pork fried rice. Once again, very bland , no taste and the rice was the same as mine. I thought the meal had spice and sauce and that to was of poor quality. For the $52 I spent on this meal I expected a little more in the quality category. Very unsatisfied.
Place has been here a long time. Hit or miss. Little iffy where they are sourcing there chicken. I went into the kitchen once and saw piles of bones which for someone who spent 6 years working in restaurants I found odd. The food quality is OK. Probably the best Asian restaurant in town. I don’t think they got a Panda Express in the area...yet.
First of all our order consisted of general tso combo, chicken w/broccoli combo, large sweet and sour chicken, and 2 orders of dumplings. It came to $52.38. We were over charged. We got it home and the general tso chicken had no sauce on it at all. Was bone dry chicken with fried rice. I had to use some of my sons sweet and sour sauce on it. There was very little sauce on the chicken and broccoli and rice was so dry my husband had to use soy sauce, which he never uses. This was by far the worst chinese food we have had. Overcharging us wouldnt have been so bad if the food was good and worth it but it wasnt at all. We will not order from there again.
Well, this place had been, for years THE best around. Things have changed and not in a good way.Their lo mein was always fabulius, its now just run of the mill, the noodles are more like a cheap fat spaghetti type and not as seasoned as they use to be. Nor are there the crisp perfect veggies in it anymore. Yet prices are up.The beef and peppers with onion was more like, pepper peppers peppers and more peppers, minimal beef, VERY minimalSame with the other ordet we had. Also, no fortune cookies? Come on! Very low quality from a place that use to soar in ratings.
Inedible! Absolutely Terrible! The steamed dumplings are so thick! Theyre tough and very rubbery the inside is just a small lump of questionable looking gray meat. With both chicken dishes I ordered the chicken was so chewy and stringy it was almost like it wasnt chicken at all! If it was chicken it was a very poor quality. The shrimp dish I ordered would have been okay if it wasnt drowning in sauce. There was so much sauce that it was spilling everywhere and they had to stapled shut the box. Everything in my takeout bag was covered in sticky brown sauce. The other dish I ordered had no sauce at all the chicken was dry and nasty. I called back to complain and initially was offered for them to drive out extra sauce... the extra sauce would not have made up for the inedible chicken. There is really no excuse for this its very poor quality food. Only once I asked to be issued a credit for the next visit did the man agree.Unfortunately I will not be returning to get a remake. Honestly I feel that my order should be entirely refunded! The only thing that I was able to eat was the one ton soup and now an hour later Im having terrible stomach pains...
I order all of my Chinese food from here, they have a big area in which theyll deliver to which is always convenient and has been a big reason they keep my service! Ive had both great and bad experiences here when it comes to food quality however, Ive had times where Ive ordered and ate a very nice meal and others where I felt like it was made by me, someone with no knowledge of making Chinese food, in my kitchen.Me and my boyfriend almost always order the same things since we know what we like, some of our favorites are their pork fried rice, white rice, beef with broccoli, sweet and sour chicken, sesame chicken and eggrolls. The most consistent thing from there is definitely the rice, Ive yet to have a bad experience eating their rice and they give you a lot of it too! Each main course you order (sesame chicken for example) comes with a small white rice as well which is great! I order their beef with broccoli everytime as well because thats my favorite, Ive only had one bad time with ordering this and that one time I felt like the chicken felt rubbery. Other than that one time (which happened over a year ago now) Ive adored it. It has a great amount of sauce it soaks in, the broccoli is cooked perfectly and so is the beef and it overall just fits together really good! My boyfriend is a fan of the sweet and sour chicken, I cant really say much because its hard to mess up something so simple, so if you want guaranteed quality thas a good choice. Ive never really liked their sesame chicken, ever. It doesnt have the signature taste that Ive grown accustomed to when ordering it from other places and the chicken feels quite soggy or too crunchy sometimes, never in the middle where it should be; Id steer away from this on the menu. Eggrolls however are a favorite in my family, Ive seen some negative reviews of them on here but Ive always enjoyed them and have never had a bad eggroll. The service there is very good, all the workers seem genuine and in a good mood everytime I go there and are more than willing to talk with me while I wait for my food. Ive seen complaints about people not being to understand the workers accents while ordering over the phone but Ive never had someone with an accent so thick that I wasnt able to understand them, and I order from them quite often. The only thing is the inside of the restaurant has had some bad days while Ive been in there, Ive sat near the windows and seen visible dust, spiderwebs and dirt around them. This is actually the reason Im giving them 3 stars instead of 4, because you need to keep a restaurant at a certain standard so people will want to eat their food inside.Overall, I have mostly positive experiences with all of their food except their sesame chicken, which I strongly dont recommend ordering due to a lack of quality. The service is great, the workers are positive and upbeat which gives the restaurant a good feeling aside from the visible uncleanness near the front windows where they seem to forget to clean. They have a wide delivery range and can deliver VERY far for a small extra fee which is one of my favorite things they do. I also love how each main course comes with a small rice for free to accompany it! I like this place, I like their food and I like their employees, however I dislike the unkept parts of their restaurant and it steers me from wanting to dine in.
Excellent Chinese food! Everything we get here is always delicious. Their chicken with broccoli, General Tsos chicken, and lemon chicken are standouts, along with the fried wontons as appetizers. The fried rice is also great, as are the soups. Its our go-to place since we moved to town from out of state.
Absolutely the worst. KandQ is currently closed due to Covid dealio so we figured wed check out Food Chow City. Ive never had Sesame Chicken where the chicken isnt crispy. Additionally my Sesame Chicken was orange with sesame seeds on it. Strangely my daughters General Tso was also orange. Could it be that they get bags of pre-made orange chicken and use this as the base for the chicken meals? Ive seen KandQ dipping chicken pieces and deep frying them, so I know they make it in house. Food Chow City sesame chicken is not fried, hence the not crispy chicken. Thankfully KandQ is opening Fri.
Absolutely disgusting. I used to eat here all the time until recently I found what appeared to be a fruit fly in sweet and sour sauce. I thought ok maybe it was just an accident or something. Gave the place another chance thinking it wasnt a big deal and after examining the food more closely found a different type of bug in my sweet and sour again and one in my egg roll ! Look closely if you decide to eat here.
The food is alright as long as you dont mind getting what you didnt order, and the staff was very hard to talk to and at times were over bearing youll like it just try it even though I told them I didnt want it. Never ordering here again. This is my third mishap with this establishment and I am rather dissatisfied with the food and the customer service. Take it easy my fellow oswegonians
This was the worst Chinese I have ever had in my life! I ordered crab ragoons... there was no crab and no flavor except sour cream cheese. The fried wontons had no flavor.. except grease and half were falling apart. And the walnut chicken was more like predipped soggy sweet and sour chicken with some walnuts thrown in. I had always thought walnut chicken to be a cream based sauce... either way. Huge disappointment as the whole meal was in my opinion inedible and a waste of 30$.
Best Chinese spot in Oswego. Fresh, tasty, and clean. The pan fried chili wontons are a great appetizer/ side dish thats not common across other Chinese restaurants. My other faves here are eggplant or broccoli with garlic sauce and the Singapore Chow Mai Fun which has a rich of curry powder in it.
I Love Food Chow City Chinese Food They Are One Of My Favorite Restaurants To Eat There Or To Order In And They Have Amazing And Awsome Chinese Food That I Crave For When Ever I Have The Money To Order Out No Matter Where I Order From I Have Never Ever Been Picky Of Different Foods I Have Been Always And Forever Satisfied! 😁

2022-02-18If I could write this place is zero stars trust me I would. My mail just came with a giant clump of gross hair in it and so I obviously threw it in the trash and then I called the restaurant and the lady who answered was very nice she seemed very apologetic and then she put me on the phone with her manager and he quite simply asked me to bring my food to the restaurant with said hair in it. I ordered delivery I do not have transportation to the restaurant. I told him this. He asked me to dig through the trash to find the hair after I told him I obviously had thrown the food away. I told him I just wanted a refund for my meal not even the whole order just that one meal and he said he doesn’t do refunds and rudely hung up on me. I do not recommend this place at all

2022-03-15This was my favorite Chinese restaurant ever when I was working at the power plant from 2004- 2007. Nothing was even close. They had awards for best general tsos chicken hanging up and everyone I brought there agreed it was the best general tsos. The owner was awesome but I forgot his name. He always had his son their helping him out. But the whole family was always super cool to us.Went back for the first time since around 2009. It carries the same name but the people were not the same. I ordered the general tsos hoping it would be the same. It was not even close and the rice was overcooked or something. Chicken wasnt. As good quality. Prices were way higher as well and the people working their were not nearly as friendly. Its to bad this place changed so much. For a long time its all I would eat. If its new ownership I really hope this management gets ahold of the old management and ask them for the exact recipes they used. I will try again sometime. Hopefully it will be better next time

2021-12-30Food Chow City; go here! Excellent food, fresh ingredients. I had the vegetable chow fun; plenty of fresh vegetables, not over cooked like most places. The owner is a professional chef, and the food here showcases his talent. And the staff is so nice and accommodating! The restaurant is small but cozy. They are very busy with takeout orders and delivery. Don’t let the few negative comments away you. Give small businesses some grace; we’re in a pandemic. The staff at Food Chow City is masked and ready to serve you. Thank you, chef!

2020-02-25Spent $38 for 2 orders of general tso combo (1 with pork fried rice, 1 with veg. Rice), 2 orders of crab ragoons and fried dumplings. The chicken looks as if the take Tyson nuggets and throw them around in sauce. Legit looked like buffalo sauce but I smelled it and knew it wouldnt be general tso but hoped for something Similar. Tasted like a sweetened buffalo sauce. Their veggie fried rice wasnt bad until I found a wavy brown/black hair in it. The fried dumplings are seriously the equivalent of the hot dogs wrapped in crescent roll, just more dumpling like breading. The crab ragoons were mediocre. Definitely not the worst Ive had but far from the best. Seriously upset and disappointed I drove 20 minutes and paid $40 for food I cant even stomach. Also, no fortune cookies but thats whatever.I do have to say that the staff when ordering and picking up were very friendly. However, we will certainly not be returning ever again. Id rather drive 40 minutes to Auburn or Elbridge for some decent chinese food.

2020-12-18The best Chinese food restaurant in town. Every thing Ive ever gotten was hot and fresh. They are usually quick in their service. The price is fair for what you get. The combination plate, which is about 8 bucks, consisting of the main dish, a pile of fried rice, and an egg roll, is enough for at least two meals for me.I dont think Ive ever gotten a bad dish from there. Plus, the people at the front counter are always warm, genuine, and cheerful people. The color scheme is warm and inviting. It is small, but very well kept. They take social distancing and safety very seriously. All in all, this restaurant is wonderful and Im always happy to spend my money there in lieu of somewhere like McDonalds or Burger King. 10/10 would recommend.

2021-12-06Absolute worst Chinese food I’ve ever had. Drive the extra 3 minutes and go to KQ. The place smells like garbage and their chicken is rubbery. And it wasn’t just a bad experience because I’ve had it twice now
