Just found where my first exhibit will be. Love this new space dedicated for artist & education. Beautiful & newly renovated space with a gallery dedicated to artist with a strong voice. Dont forget to experience their garden too. Not only a beautiful juxtaposition between a forest & the concrete jungle but an artistic ambience that makes you feel enchanted.
We visited the Ford Foundation during the Perilous Bodies show: the gallery is the perfect size to visit in under an hour and still be flabbergasted by the amazing art on show. We were touched by this moving, beautiful and at the same time revolting exhibition.(The inner garden was in maintenance at the time, so we could not go in)
I love to get away here... Sit tranquilly by the fountain and inhale the scent of the green atmosphere. Unfortunately the atrium has been shut from mid-2016 through until March 2018, Ive read. This has put a damper on my New York winters. Whereas before I had a peaceful, warm, nature retreat to escape to from people on icy cold days, now Im left searching museums (The Rubin Museum is calming also) or cafes for a quiet spot to meditate, clear my mind and reconnect with nature, with no other place in the city filling this void... This building, with its healthy office space designed to oversee (and smell?) the green foliage ground floor and look toward the clear glass windowed sky, has forever imparted its organizations core values and a sense of peace upon me. Its depressing to not have this or any other indoor garden to escape to in this busy city, especially during the cold months. Hurry up and open again!!! I would love to get involved with the Ford Foundation on social change one day too.
Iconic New York building from 1967 by Kevin Roche John Dinkeloo Associates with magnificent indoor garden. It looks as fresh as if it were built yesterday. Dont miss the gallery and its current show everything slackens in a wreck with art by Asian-Americans from the US and the Caribbean, focusing on the plight of Asians taken as indentured workers to the Americas between 1838 and 1917.
Masterpiece by Kevin Roche. One of my favorite buildings of all time. The large interior space in the shape of a glass box, an inner courtyard to which the offices look, magnetizes by its light, warmth, its materials (corten steel, glass, natural stone), its adequate proportions, insertion in the urban fabric, expressive cuts diagonal in their sustaining forms, reflect a unique work that includes even the most beautiful references of American architecture as the Larking building in Wrights Buffalo.

2022-05-11It was wonderful being present to celebrate TAP being turned back on for those incacerated in NY State. Education is critical for those inside as they return to their lives with their families outside. Thank you FORD Foundation for being a leader in social justice issues.

2020-03-04Every time i am in the area with some free time i like to stop by and enjoy the smell and the quiet of this amazing place! With more than 39 species of plants, commissioned by Henri Ford II in the ‘60, this space is free and unique.

2019-11-16Due to our lack of direction, we were unable to take full advantage of this beauty! The green space is nice to chill and get out of the hustle and bustle. We, unfortunately were unable to tour the gallery. The staff were friendly and certainly offered for us to check it out. I am uncertain if there is a charge for the gallery, but the garden area is free!

2021-05-20Excellent place to get your COVID vaccine. Staff was very polite and organized. The process was seamless and pleasant. We had a wonderful experience and great memories, especially when later we had a chance to make a comparison with some other vaccination sites.

2021-05-21As of May 21, 2021, the garden is closed. The place is only used now for the vaccine clinic, and you cannot walk around in the garden. The security guard was nice enough to let me take some quick snapshots at the revolving door but that’s it. These opening hours infos are always unclear. It has been my fourth attempt coming to this building over the past three years, and it’s ALWAYS closed or fenced off for one reason or another. Very frustrating.

2021-05-06Five stars for the covid vaccination site. I just got my 1st shot of Monderna without having an appointment (walk in). No wait. Staff is polite and organized. The entrance is full of covid posters, you wont miss it.I was the only person getting a vaccine, and there were roughly 25 staff there. I absolutely felt loved. Saying hi and goodbye to everyone I encountered made my day.
