Very, Very Rude!!! Stay away! UPS left my package there because I wasnt at my apartment. When I arrived to pick it up, the guy had closed the store 10 minutes earlier than its closing time. I told him politely that my package was inside and he brushed past me roughly and told me the store was closed and too bad. We exchanged words, and I was shocked at how aggressive this man was. He really resented me pointing out that his store was closed earlier than advertised. Im sending a complaint to UPS requesting that they do not under any circumstances send my packages to this store. I also would encourage consumers to take their business to other hardware stores on Queens Boulevard where the service and hardware is much, much better.
Forest Hills Hardware Store is the only local store that sells hardware goods in the Forest Hills vicinity other than Duane Reade, Rite Aid, or the generic chain stores. Ive visited on multiple occasions, to buy cooking pans, duck tape, plunger, house key copies, and whatever I need in an instant. Once my toilet clogged (happens when you ate heartily the night before) and thankfully Forest Hills Hardware Store was open at night. This store provides all the tools and gadgets you need to replace, repair, and enhance all fixtures in the home for a reasonable price. The only complaint I have is some of the items look like they are from the last decade. Before you buy I suggest you inspect the quality of the item. Other than that, two thumbs up to this hardware store for servicing the area!
Do not Shop here ! Inventory is very old, the paint has all separated and most other items no longer work due to age ! Returns are impossible because it is impossible to understand them, and they liedabout everything, from having a paint shaker to be accomodating with exchanges. As a retailer of over30 years, They are the reason mom and pop stores no longer exist, Decietfull and dishonest, no refunds and 3 days on exchanges, which is impossible to work with. STAY AWAY FROM THESE JOKERS !
I dont understand why theres so many bad reviews here I was hesitant to go over there but decided to give it a try anyway because its the only hardware store around and my visit was fine the guy was very helpful and had everything I need it I definitely will be going back again because I will be needing more stuff if you know what you need or at least can describe what you need he can get it for you he did it for me

2021-10-13I needed potting soil. He had a several options and he recommended one (that happened to be the cheaper option) because he said it was nice and light. Very helpful. I always prefer to shop small local businesses--makes for a better neighborhood.

2020-08-28If I could give this store 0 stars I would. The owner is extremely rude. I bought a plant that ended up being diseased with worms and rotten at the roots from this store. When I called to ask what they could do, he started to yell at me saying that it was my fault. He said I dont know how to take care of plants... Im a gardener. He then hung up in my face.

2019-09-16Theres a reasonably good amount of inventory here. Check before you trek off to The Big Shelf store. If its a household repair chances are hes got what you need; especially the smaller specialty items. He wasnt sure what I needed by the description but after I showed him and some considerable searching he finally came up with the item. It took a while and I was ready to give up but he hung in there and found it. Personal service, convenience and reasonable prices; the neighborhood mom and pop store.

2020-01-20The manager was very helpful in assisting me with the exchange of a defective product. If youre in the neighborhood, its definitely worth a trip - to support your local small business, and to minimize your travel time.

2017-01-06The guy was so freaking rude. I saw him throw every customers package everywhere, including mine. While I told him my package is fragile, he gave me a face. Then I told him I got two slips for picking up, he doesnt even care to check my Second package and told me he doesnt care at all!! If guy want to be an UPS drop off place, you can not tray your customer and those package like that! Try your best to avoid this place for UPS drop off and pick up or you might end up having the same story as mine.
