I went to the Rex Orange County concert on May 14, 2022. While the performance/show was amazing, I was highly disappointed in the venue. The concert was for rain or shine, so as a normal person during a rainy day I brought an umbrella. When we got there we were told that umbrellas were not allowed in the venue. I can understand this as an umbrella might obstruct the view of the people sitting behind. Hundreds of people abandoned their umbrellas just before security. When we got out of the show, all of the umbrellas had been disposed of. What harm were leaving these umbrellas outside of the stadium? There wasnt even a warning in an email or in the confirmation page when purchasing the tickets how umbrellas were not allowed. Now I have to buy a replacement which isnt the point, its more about the principle of the whole thing. Also while I was here, I was rejected from the cocktail bar because they thought I was using a fake ID. I am a 25 year old New York resident. Ill go to the venue again to see a favorite artist but I will definitely be more prepared and get my drinks beforehand and NOT bring an umbrella.
The energy and passion you can feel it when you enter this stadium, and you experience it live you can feel your heart connected to the music, the beat, and ambiance of the event, the goosebumps exploding on your body of excitement. I have to say the Forest Hills Stadium lives up to its hype and legacy it brings!!!!!
Magical. Not sure why it took me so long to see a concert here, pandemic aside. Saw My Morning Jacket on 9/11/21 and it was incredible. Was in the 500 seating section and I’m convinced this place has no bad Sears. Most beautiful night outside, and the stars were out while listening to one of my favorite bands. Simply perfect.
Very clean, great acoustics and sound overall. Saw AJR last night (5/21/22) and it was awesome! Everything was coordinated very well, with everyone lined up on different lines to avoid flooding the gates upon entry. Staff were helpful the whole time. Seats are just metal benches, but in the midst of a concert, who cares? Youre up on your feet most of the time anyway, and they werent terribly uncomfortable.
Such a great venue for a concert (particularly when the weather is perfect). The pictures speak for themselves, but the venue had lots of vendors, tons of different kinds of food and drinks, and ample bathrooms even for larger concerts. Staff are super kind and helpful.
The homecoming concert on 8/20/2021 was pretty good. Best it was free. Diverse crowd enjoyed the funk and hip hop music. Plenty of food and beer for patrons. Perfect day. Plenty of social distancing. Deblasio, Schumer showed up with George Clinton for his 80th birthday celebration. Loved the collage of male and female tennis players legends at the stadium.
Is this the best outdoor venue in NYC? It just may be. Certainly one of the most picturesque and charismatic places to see a show left in the outer boroughs. Norman welcoming, great selection of drinks and food, and always high quality entertainment. Im sure you could argue that the playfield or bandshell are Forest Hills stadiums equal, but this place just makes me happier.
Welcome to one of NYC’s hidden gems. I had read about the place because I’m a tennis fan and learned this was an original home to the US Open. It almost was demolished in the early teens until it wasn’t and now hosts concerts in summer. My first experience was a Wilco show this summer. The venue is intimate, immaculately clean and the event security properly enforced proof of vaccination. The stadium is nestled in a neighborhood that looks more like a sleepy English village than what you’d expect off the F train. It’s Queens’ own scrappy, city version of Red Rocks amphitheater.
Venue was clean and very accessible via a short trip on the LIRR from NY Penn station. Eat before you go. Even though there were multiple stands for food, they were all clustered together and quickly developed long lines. On the other hand, if you want alcohol you are in luck. There are more than enough options that you will ensure you quickly get served. Just make sure you bring a debit/credit card or have a digital wallet, this venue was cashless.
I purchased ticket for Rex Orange County in March excited to see him perform in my home city. When i saw it was going to take place in Forest Hills Stadium I was a little taken back because the reviews for this place are always mixed and you would think the bad reviews would never happen to you, but it did. To start off the staff are all very rude, have annoyed looks on their face and treat everyone like pests. Constantly telling us we cant stand here or we cant wait here for our friend and to go somewhere else. When walking into the General Admissions Floor, the men at the door were also extremely rude scoffing at us and making inappropriate jokes about what we were wearing. This made me and my friends feel horrible. They will also sell you beer underage without asking for identification but when they ask for your id at the entrance to the floor, they will take away your drinks and id’s. This place is extremely unorganized and the only fun part of my night was seeing Rex preform. Sadly this type of behavior will not change unless they hire completely new team. Horrendous
This has to be one of my fav venues now. The staff was lovely, food was actually good, bathrooms were always kept clean, and it was my first time going yesterday seeing illenium. I was expecting it to be packed but surprisingly it wasn’t. Overall highly recommend coming here to watch any show.
Cons- a bit of a trek from Manhattan-you don’t just take the train right to the venue -you’ve got a pretty good walk before you actually get in the gate /wear sensible shoes-couldn’t find any pizza-weird soda choices (RC & Squirt ?) Um no thanks-$12.5O for small can beer-could be a con if you don’t know / it’s a cashless venue-no big screen to see performers facesPros- Acoustics rival Red Rocks - clean crisp sounds every show I’ve gone too-All staff very nice & happy-tables to sit & eat food before going to seat-several food options (just no pizza )-well maintained venue-good size-lots of ADA seating
The stadium was fine, but the security and prep for a large crowd was seriously lacking. At a recent concert for the lumineers, I was assaulted by another woman on line for the restrooms. The lines to the restroom were pure madness and the woman forcefully grabbed my arm. It could have seriously escalated. I did not feel safe here. Angry Karens plus alcohol is not a good mix. There should have been security watching the crazy mob at the restrooms.
Get seat backs if you have a concert here!! Or instead, you can skip the preshow. Most people stand when there is a concert but you might want those seat backs in case. When went there, the lack of cover was not a problem, but keep in mind this place is rain or shine.
On May 25th I had the pleasure of attending my first live concert at the Forest Hills Stadium venue. Having been to hundreds of concerts and seeing scores of stages, I have to say how impressed I was of the aesthetics, sound, lights and overall vibe of the concert location. While the website and other sites state to take public transportation, I found parking easily enough locally (and almost for the price of one train ticket). Either option is available, if you book early enough, and I booked on Thursday before the show on Saturday (see my 4 star review of the Sylvan Gerard Garage!).Once arriving there are no shortage of eateries around the area (we chose Rove, also see my review, great choice!). Once you enter the stadium area though the food and drink options were also plentiful. The Forest Hills Stadium has seen The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, amongst other music legends, and I after my experience I am not surprised. The acoustics were excellent (I heard someone state that the venue wants to be considered the Red Rocks of the Northeast, and I can see it). There was not a bad seat in the house (unless you stood behind me in general admission, sorry Im over 6 feet).
I went here with my girlfriend for a concert to see the band My Morning Jacket. Great show beautiful setting and very nice establishments nearby. The sound system was awesome and the mood is perfect on a warm Saturday night in July. Concerts end at 10 pm PROMPTLY! (Neighbors). Plenty of time to enjoy a show and stop out after for a bite. Parking not the best because of private streets. Read the signs or you will be booted!! Still can find parking within walking distance. Ill be there again for date night with my girl.UPDATE 2022 : Bon Iver
Went to see Illenium. Tickets were split between Floor and Bowl (where the seats are ). My group and several other groups had bought floor tickets. However when we got there we were told that the floor was full and that you needed a wristband to get in and they were all out. We heard that some people who had bought Bowl tickets were given wristbands and let onto the floor. Staff did nothing for us and didn’t even take responsibility for clearly not checking tickets properly. So we paid an extra $30 dollars and didn’t get what we paid for. The one star is for Illenium/the show itself and because you can’t give less than that.
IF YOU TIP PLEASE TIP WITH CASHLast week I worked for this Stadium as a temp bartending. Myself as well as 15+ temp work made $400 or more worth of tips EACH! At the end of the shift we were notified that we are NOT going to receive our hard working tips because Forest Hills Stadium is going to keep due to that we are not permitted employeesThere were no discussions about tipping policies prior to the shift. So I write not just let it be known that Forest Hills Stadium are horrible people that stole from people, but to let you know to please tip with cash do not tip on the POS (the electronic device that you will make purchases on)& if you are planning on tipping thank you & you are appreciated.
My absolute favorite place to see a concert. Very chill atmosphere, the food selection is always fun and delicious, and there isn’t a bad seat in the house (my first experience was in the very last row and I still loved it). A must if you love music and outdoor venues. (These pictures were from Ben Fold and Cake this past summer).
This is a great venue to see a concert in! With the outer, old practice court area having high end food & drink stands, theres a great vibe to the place before you even get in the actual arena- sitting with a bunch of people in between bands eating the best corn dog Ive had in a while (along with crowd pleasers like risotto balls, burgers, etc.) with a beer, on what is the practice area court surface, not only are you comfy, but its a good place to meet up with F&F or change your scene if you want/come to a break in the music playing inside. The actual arena is an awesome place to see live music... Has the feeling of a natural amphitheater the way the stage is setup at the end of the tennis court so that theres an open, general admission style area at ground level (on the main court) with bleachers running around the outside of the court- theres really not a bad seat in the house it seemed as everyone can see the stage & the shape along with smaller size add wonderful acoustics to the experience🎶! Because its an older setup, its not overwhelmingly big or inundated with people everywhere; you can walk pretty easily anywhere in the place without stepping on toes. My one complaint is that Im just over 6 tall & there were guys about my size both behind & in front of me, that we all kept knocking into each other a bit bc the bleachers are a bit tight in their layout, whereas seats would be better. But really thats the only complaint I can serve up about the whole place & experience there. Security was thorough yet professional & quick to deal with getting inside the arenas outer area. The NYPD had put up some walkways & closed some roads as this stadium is smack in the middle of a really nice residential area of Queens, so the surrounding streets do not really get rowdy to speak of & theres even sound dampening martials in the stadium entrances to kill noise pollution for the residents there. LIRR has a stop right near the entrance basically so thats the way to go if youre able to do it. We drove & there was an outdoor parking facility we used within 5 minutes walk from the venue which was fine, but Id have rather used public transport/will next time we go. Has a safe yet fun vibe to it & for the 92.3 concert series we were at, it had an upscale feel to it as well. Overall this place is a hidden gem in Queens to see shows at- think Jones Beach Amphitheatre, but with everything thats terrible there, done so much better here. If Google will let me post it correctly, check out my 1st picture posted for a panorama shot to see the inside of the stadium from the bleachers, but def 5 🌟s as a great venue in NYC metro area to see a concert at, good seats for all attendees, clean/safe place w great concessions & an even better live music adventure awaiting within.
This venue exceeded my expectations! Big enough to accommodate a significant crowd yet small enough to feel intimate. I saw the Chemical Brothers and the crowd was amazing. The food and drink vendors were some of the best Ive seen at any live event of this size and the facilities and staff were very good to deal with.Location is also really great for post show nightlife.
The best venue I’ve attended! So well organized, perfect size (not too big or too small), so the ambiance felt very intimate and with a great vibe! I went to see Sigur Ros and it was just mind blowing! The place was beautiful, a lot of food stands with a good selection of beers and food. There were a lot of restrooms, very neat and comfortable. It was so perfect! The sound was perfect, the acoustic, the lights show... I really really really enjoyed this concert! One of the best I’ve ever attended 💖
This stadium was difficult to get to, had very uncomfortable bleacher style seating, and had huge poles that blocked the view of the stage. I went because I really enjoyed the artist that was playing there, but would not return. There was also a curfew and staff were shushing patrons as we took our long walk to get back to the subway. It really dampened the mood.
All in all, this is a really decent venue. The size is such that there really isnt what youd call a bad seat in the place. But it does present some challenges - like parking and a couple other policies.Parking. First time we were here, we drove in and parked in the neighborhood. This time we took the F train (R going home). Glad we did, because the main street into the neighborhood was blocked (Burns, I think?) My tip: take LIRR or subway, even if you live in northern burbs or CT. Easier to park in the city and sub it out.Umbrella policy. This is really stupid. You cant take an umbrella in. You have to check it and buy a poncho. I get not opening umbrellas at a concert. But instead of charging people $5 to check them, how bout just telling them you cant open it in the venue. Abusive rip-offFood. Meh. Nice variety highly overpriced. But its decent enough. There are some benches/shelters to sit and eat. Could easily use double what they haveSound system. Absolutely first-rate!!Theres no smoking in the venue at all, except for marijuana apparently. There is, however, an unauthorized cig/vape area (see my photos)Anyway. Its an historic place. Its in a beautiful setting. Not the easiest to get to etc, but worth it for sure
I’m a big concert guy so I’ve been to plenty of venues. This is a fun venue. I’ve been here to see Greta Van Fleet, Fitz and Tantrums, The Head and the Heart, and Young the Giant. Of course the bands make the show, but the venue definitely helps put it all together, I’ve only had good times here.
Great venue, very clean, Well organized and maintained. Really not a bad seat in the house. Astro turf in the downtime area with food trucks for all. Only drawbacks which wasnt bad was speakers need to be higher up..top 20 rows has a lower sound too it and when tried to scan my ticket at the gate and the evening sun wouldnt let the scanner do its job finally a manager looked up my last digits to my cc and confirmed. Other than that great time nice crowd great concert.
Ten oclock curfew? Jeez mom its not even a school night.About the only thing not going for this place is it is kinda hard to get to from places that arent Queens (especially CT). They do have a curfew at 10 but that didnt seem to bother anyone in the crowd or the bands.Awesome looking historic stadium with cozy atmosphere that made it look like not a bad seat in the house. Loved the outside are and the walk into the stadium.#wegotnightsweaty
I have been to many concerts venues and this was definitely top of the list. Tons of VERY friendly security around. It was a streamlined entry and the place is so cute. They even had fantastic food and drink choices. And a place serving an AMAZING vegan sandwich. It felt like the staff there actually cared about how they impacted the concert goers unlike many other venues Ive been to for EDM shows.
A cool colosseum style stadium, its a historic tennis grounds converted into a summer music festival venue. They had a wide choice of food vendors and a cozy common area to chill between bands. The sounds is great throughout the amphitheatre, plus a super short walk to the LIRR.
I saw Interpol here on the 23rd of Saturday. Its on outdoor venue, where they use to hold the US open. Its in the middle of the suburbs in Queens, so theres a strict curfew. Its a great summer time/early fall venue, with decent acoustics. My main issue with this venue is the curfew. Interpol was ready to play a bit more but they were cut off due to this strictly enforced curfew. I understand because its in the middle of residential housing, but when youre watching your favorite band its a bummer.
The Forest Hills stadium is where the US Open was played until the 1970s. It moved to Flushing Meadows Corona Park. The stadium was used for occasional concerts for many years and a summer tennis camp Approximately 10 years ago, a concert series was established that has been very successful. This stadium is a great music venue. Its easily accessible by subway and LIRR. However, street parking is difficult to find. There are some nearby parking lots.
Decent venue. Sound is excellent. But they are using bleachers for seats, very uncomfortable. Front row for general admission has you standing on grates...not ideal for standing. Food is good. Could use some real bathrooms, although port o potties are the nicest ive seen.Staff is very organized and friendly
What an unexpected gem in the middle of a residential area. Parking situation was terrible but we got super lucky on the street so I cant complain. Good selection of food, drinks, beers etc. Reminded me of Jones Beach without the beach. If it wasnt so far away, Id say Id go back for sure... But I wont. That is not the stadiums fault. Was a really nice surprise how cool lot really was inside.
Cool, intimate, historical venue. Not a bad seat in the house. Good sound, and a really fun neighborhood that doesn’t get enough shine. They upgraded the restrooms this year and City Winery now has a booth. Seen a few concerts hear the last few years and it keeps getting nicer. Definitely worth the trip if you’re not from around here.
Get here early! My favorite part about this venue is that the concession area looks like a State Fair. Seriously, all they needed was the Strong Man bell thingy and cotton candy. Heck, they might of had cotton candy. Its a small stadium with very steep seating so I presume the views are great from the nosebleeds. I wouldnt know because my criminal ass grifted my way in to GA. Im not telling you how because theyll fix the whole process and ruin it for us miscreants. My first show here was Interpol. I only knew one song, but they were free tickets so what the hell. I enjoyed myself. Especially that one song I knew. I was going to mention that the stage lighting was funky, but that was just for the opening acts. Opening acts get no lighting love. The sound was pretty good. I was dead center so it was balanced as an of course.GA is as flat as a pancake so if youre below 55 youre screwed. Get to the front however you can. There were all these freakishly tall guys at the Interpol show so my 59 self was doing a whole lot of neck craning. But I still got great video of that one song I knew, so Im happy. And wear good shoes. The hard packed earth was hell on my feet. My left one completely fell asleep but that was probably because of my slipped disk. Im old and falling apart. Youll be better off than me.Since its smack in the middle of Forest Hills Gardens, shows here end EXACTLY at 10. If your act doesnt start their encore before 10-to-10, youre screwed. Egress is smooth, if slow. Its a hike back to the Subway/LIRR with a ton of people so dont be in a rush. If youre broken like me, your foot is still asleep anyway. The Gardens are maze like but they have lots of cops directing the flow. You wont get lost.Id gladly come back to see a show here next summer. Next time, maybe Ill even sit in my ticketed seat.
This and Terminal 5 are the worst venues for concerts in NYC. So many things spoil your live music experience here.Starting with the seats”. (See the picture attached). Youll be seated with no back rest, in a space so tiny it hurts. The rows so adjacent to each other youll get stepped on countless times, and you need to stand up to let people in into their seats. Only the lower rows of sections 401, 501, 601 and 701 have proper seats, still uncomfortable. Floor sections are no better. Then theres the huge lamplight poles. Theyll obstruct your view in several sections (see picture again).Horrible restrooms. Lots of porta-potties (!!!).Strict curfew at 10 PM. Which means the concert will start so early and most of it will be in plain sunlight. Not a good sound system (as to not disturb the neighbors). Winds distort the (weak) flow of sound so easily. And so many surrounding elements interfere with the concert (I heard some animals -goats?- throughout a New York Pops performance!!!!).Very slow and counter-intuitive entrance process. Each metal detector only with 2 bins to place belongings, slowing down all the queue.I could go on and on, but in short, avoid this venue.
We had a great time watching My Morning jacket. The food and drinks were a little expensive. Seating was great but the bathrooms leave everything to be desired. I get shared bathroom but the guys didnt shut the doors and well you see a lot more than you want... very gross.
Forest Hills Stadium is fantastic! The Dolly show was spectacular with sequins on stage and off. Watching the concert as the sun sets and the night falls was one of the most breathtaking musical experiences Ive had. The vendor set-up was on point with local brews and bites but pricey as expected. The parade of nicer than typical porta potties keeps the flow going so you can keep groovin.
Really great space... so many food options security! Great view from anywhere in the house and j loved the idea of those speak easy suites! Adorable! However. security was less than great. Allowed an audience member to climb on stage..also were nearly kicking people out when we were using the bathroom at the end if the show.
Great venue! Great sound! They have plenty of food and drink available. They allow unopened water. Love that they have drink vendors in the stands!! Be prepared for port-a-pottys. Located in a gorgeous, safe neighborhood, but sad that there is nowhere nearby to stay overnight.
A friend of mine who is member invited me in the summer to check out and enjoy the place. I do not have a membership but it probably is not cheap, however it is clean, very nice pool, you can hit tennis balls back and forth with people with the net, the people are very friendly, they also have concerts about 10 times a year more or less so look up the tennis stadium if Interested in summer fun, or having a great night of music and dancing of you go to the concerts. This place had a lot of the great musical groups and musicians play here in the past, rolling stones, Bob Dylan,Simon and Garfunkel and more recently some nice reggae groups, a few bands I never heard of but I am sure have a big following and September 2021 of you like rap the rapper NAS from queens just performed and although it rained really hard he had everyone on their feet and the sound system was nice loud and clear
Went to sigur Ross here and it was great except no vegan options unless you want fries and Im not vegan but they made such a deal on the site I must have been asked 20 times if I knew a vegan stand. We lost lol a half hour of time that could been spent chilling at the outside food fair but the metal detector lady let us through then told us we needs to go to the ticket booth. A walk to the ticketing booth which is off site was not necessary because now this girl said we have flash seating we need to go to the metal detectors. We went back and got in this time.I dont think this is the stadiums fault but we got front row seats on forst balcony but somehow ended up on the field???Flash seating be careful. I have to ask my girlfriend if it was ticket master or what but that was pretty gosh darn shady.
Forest Hills is my absolute favorite venue in New York right now. Great vibe, beautiful to be in, easy for me to get to, and most of all, an incredibly good sound system. No distortion or terrible bounce back reflections, just clean delightful sound! Also, good food and beverage selections (although, as usual, pricey). But just a great night out. We always try to go a couple of times per season.
Forest Hills Stadium is a new Summer MUST for us! Amazing outdoor music venue that feels very intimate. The ambiance is very cool with food and beer trucks lining the main area for some really great drinks and eats! Get there early to partake! LIRR is the way to go, only 15 minutes from Penn and a short 2 block walk from there.
I was reluctant to come all the way out to this stadium....but now Im excited for the next time I can visit! Easy to get to from subways, really well organized with a ton of clean bathrooms, ample options for food/beer, AND even some secret spots if you know the right people ;)
Great venue in residential area to seexa concert. Hard to get in and out and no parking onsite. Need to use Uber or Lyft service in or out. They have nice choice of drinks and food at stadium. Pricey. Only bad part of venue toilets shutdown during concert and caused alot of chaos for a good hour.
This is a really nice stadium! The food and beverage vendors are a-plenty, with good variety. It is spacious, with great acoustics. I was really impressed with the amount of restrooms available for such a big stadium, and think the staffed restrooms are really efficient and nice for a large venue like this! We found the private VIP lounge near the restrooms but the bouncers were really aggressive and pretty rude, considering we were only looking at the entrance - other than that, I think its an awesome venue.
This is an old old venue. Hardly any shelter if it rains and I’ve had two recent shows ruined with rain. AXS isn’t the most efficient ticket vendor so I ended up way over paying on stubhub for seats because AXS site is not easily navigated. GA has seats so pay attention to which section you are in. Didn’t realize that GA6 is almost in Brooklyn. No screens outside the seating area so if it rains you aren’t seeing anything. You may get lucky and have a clear evening but 2021 has been brutal
Public transportation commute to the stadium was not complicated. The security line was smooth and quick. Staff was incredibly friendly. And space itself provided great seating options and view. I didnt used restroom or buy any food or drinks but there seems to be plenty of those. Be sure to dress accordingly as its outdoor and can get breezy and cool up on the top tiers. Enjoy the experience Id highly recommend.
Great venue to see a performance! Its small, there really isnt that bad of a seat. I was just there for the first time and friends that we went with were members of the West Side Tennis Club, so we were able to enter and exit through the club. It was very convenient and no lines. Since its an open stadium in a neighborhood, theres a 10pm cut off for performances. A ton of food options and vendors inside to choose from. Would definitely go again!
Very nicely managed venue for concerts. Many food and drink choices, plentiful clean restrooms unrestricted by gender, free bottled water distributed during the heatwave when I attended. The stadium seating is simply benches, and that might bother your back. The floor seating is chairs with backs.
Fantastic outdoor venue that is great for concerts. Great staff and food options. Seating is more stadium so be sure to bring a cushion for support. Also as parking is almost non existent in the area, it is better to ride share to get to the venue. Also the staff at the venue is very friendly and helpful.
Forest Hills Stadium opened about 5 years ago and converted into a summer music festival venue. They have done a brilliant job of getting local food vendors and always a great music line up. I really enjoyed the alt-j concert here because it was an immersive experience throughout the venue. They finally added a full functional bathroom. And a lot of great food and drinks for before and between the show. Overall would recommend. And would visit again.
Great venue. A bit of a walk to the entrance from subway, but its a nice one. Super quick getting in if you dont bring a big bag that they have to search. Staff very friendly. concert sounded great! Even the Port-a-potties didnt have a wait! Lots of vendors, so lines arent too long.
A great venue for concerts, this stadium is far more intimate than Madison Square Garden and the nearby LIRR and subway makes it almost as easy to get there. It is also set in a pretty almost suburban neighborhood with good restaurant options both outside and inside the venue. I imagine it may be unpleasant when the weather is bad but on the pretty summer night when I went, it was a fantastic setting for an evening of music.
Great place for a concert and for seeing folks you know. I was pleasantly surprised by the lineup for the upcoming weeks. there are so many good artists that are going to play here. I had a great time though beers were $11 which is basically City prices but the real Joy of being here is seeing people you didnt think you were going to run into. I sell my buddy Ethan who I hadnt seen in years it turns out he was hitting a few rows up on my right
Wow. I don’t know if it was the music (My Morning Jacket) or the weather (warm but with cool breeze) but I had an awesome experience here. It’s not like seeing a show at another venue. It feels almost like you’ve taken a trip into the past onto some special grounds.Great views from floor to stands and the sound is spectacular.
This was my second time attending Forrest Hill Stadium to see a rock concert. Really great overall experience. Many concession stands and many clean bathrooms. Waiter service at seats all night. Great acoustics and seating arrangement. Great views even in the nosebleeds. Concessions open after the show as well. I will return to see MMJ whenever they come play here!
Beautiful venue, great food and drink vendors. Very quick and convenient to get to via public transportation. Only complaint is it was a bit pricey and the Portapotty only bathroom options were kind of gross. For a hundred dollar ticket Id expect some real bathrooms with sinks.
Great outdoor venue to see a concert. Compact and excellent sightlines. They are starting to get really good acts. The only negatives are the lack of parking (you really need to use pubic transit) and the 10pm curfew, which means shows start early and some acts need to cut a song or two to end on time.
Not a bad seat in the house! :) Fantastic outdoor venue convenient to LIRR and subways. Great selection of food and drink vendors on the premises, and plenty of restaurant, lounge, and bar options on nearby Austin Street. Have seen Ben Folds and Van Morrison here, and looking forward to more concerts soon!!
This was my first time seeing a concert here. The train pretty much drops you right at the venue and took very little time from the Mineola station. There are tons of food vendors when you first walk in and they have a great variety. I am not sure if it is just this event but the alcohol was of limited selection. There were predetermined cocktails to choose from, however if I am paying that kind of money I would expect to choose from a variety of liqours and mixers to make a cocktail I actually like. The views within the stadium are pretty good even all the way up in the bleechers. Finding your seat is not very easy and the ushers dont make it any easier. Most concerts end by 10 and there are lots of trains ready to pick up the masses of people leaving. Of course you will be harassed on the way out from one of the dozen or so t-shirt husslers. Kind of rude because they get right in your face.Overall I would visit this venue again for future concerts.
Tons of bathrooms and ample signage for ADA seating. Really cool venue for warm weather- mind you, its a tennis stadium with no cover so its totally exposed to the elements. If you catch a great weather day like we did, its a gorgeous setting and you get to enjoy a concert in the same stadium that greats like the Beatles,Paul Simon, and Streisand have played.
Our concert experience while at the stadium was excellent. Not a bad seat to be had here. Staff is exceptionally friendly and the area around the stadium is worth exploring for out of towners. However, prices for concessions are very expensive, $10-15 for one beer and lines are long. Bathrooms are upscale portapotties. Parking is extremely difficult and not available on site. With that said, sound and lighting and overall concert experience were still awesome.
The stadium and production company have done an exceptional job - friendly and helpful staff, diverse range of food and drinks, bathrooms the list goes on and made it a truly great venue. Its a 10-15 min hike to the entrance from the subway / main drag on Queens Boulevard but once inside you will be impressed. On a summer evening sitting in the food / drink area before the show is magic.
Historic venue. The main act was great - beautiful night, they delivered, and the nosebleeds really dont feel as bad as they look on-screen. But, we were also interested in the opener, and they you could barely hear. The way the stadiums constructed, you can hear every word from the people behind you if the speakers arent turned up loud. That was really disappointing - we moved, but still couldnt manage to hear the band well.
They charge $14 for a beer and expect you to whizz in a trough on a modular port-a-john trailer rental. Seats are super uncomfortable for the ticket cost. Decent acoustics and the open concept works with the weather, but Id never in my life pay to see a show here again.
Most disappointing to have checked out venue BEFORE buying tickets. Seats 15, 16, row A of section 301, and no mention of view interference. Throughout the Beck and Cage the Elephant show the camera consistently blocked our view. Drove far, no parking, seats didnt come through (though checked before left) had to go to customer service at venue... finally got them, and then to have view obstructed. Will never go there again !!!
Great venue. Small enough to not be lost in a gigantic crowd like bigger venues, but big enough to hold a whole lot of people. Outdoors, so its weather dependent, but given a nice night, its amazing. Been here for a few concerts and once youre in you are good to go. The wait line to get in however was a little ridiculous, and people were cutting lines left and right bc there was no enforcement, but we waited an hour to get through security. Lots of different options for food, mostly fried fast foods type stuff regardless. Overpriced drinks, but kind of expected at any concert venue.
Nice job bringing this place back to life. Dalot of decent food vendors, beers, coffee etc in a small venue. Only complaint? Its in a neighborhood so they are strict on noise and show times. Literally shows are maybe 2/3 volume and done at 10pm. No exceptions. I came a bit late for a 6pm show and missed part of the band I wanted to see... surprised how fast they move through to hit that closing hour.
Fantastic place to see a show outdoors. The area is surrounded by a cool little village and some nice local bar spots. They will not let you bring an umbrella into the show so keep that in mind. The sound is fantastic though and there really isnt a bad seat in the house unless your are far stage left or right.
Great outdoor venue. Horseshoe shaped stadium with stage at open end.Easy access to public transportation - LIRR, subway (E, F, R, M), 3 blocks off Queens Blvd. If you park in the residential neighborhood immediately around the stadium your car may get booted. Many restaurants in the area. Good times.
I really enjoy my time at this this venue. Food and drinks are a bit pricey, but its the norm when it comes to shows and concerts. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Its close to transportation and if youre a Queens resident it feels like its right around the corner.
The night I went, I was glad to finally visit Forest Hills Stadium. (I lived in the neighborhood next door for over 15 years and hadnt actually been to the venue). Unfortunately, the forecast was rain, and the concert was a Rain or Shine event. The music was great, but the sound was sometimes interrupted by the inclement weather. The stadium has a really nice variety of vendors during breaks and intermission, and the staff were helpful and friendly. Nile Rogers and Chic were also a great band, and they were still worth seeing despite the weather conditions.
Yes! After 20 or so years they brought back concerts to this small outdoor venue. Once the holder to the US Open now even though some of the old grader is lost this place is still magic. The Who once played there loudest concert there and just a few nights ago they rocked the place again! The sound was loud and clear and the place rocked. If your favorite band happens to play here, I highly suggest you seem there here.

2022-05-31Forest Hills is a great concert location. I went to see AJR on 5/21 and sat in section 801 row D. It fits 12,000 people and they offer a variety of food options (including gluten-free and vegetarian). You are not allowed to bring water into the venue but they have water fountains that you can use for free. I will say the fountains were hard to find but one of their many staff members can help you find it. Also, bathrooms were surprisingly clean and they had a lot of food options (though I recommend coming early since my sister waited over 30 minutes on the burger line).

2022-06-19Reviewing this venue as a concert venue. What an amazing place to see a concert here in the summer! They have Stadium seats as well as a general admission floor. It’s an open air venue so obviously be prepared if things go south weather wise but with summer weather here it’s absolutely amazing to have a venue like this with so much character and history surrounding it!They have drink vendors that actually go through the stands and down on the GA floor which is a first for me at a concert! Also, they have a wide selection of food. One thing I noticed is they have elote (Mexican street corn)! How often do you see that at a venue like this? That’s something one would see at a festival!I went here to see AJR on the 21st of May and just recently saw The Lumineers. The sound technicians and front of house staff really do an excellent job of mixing and audio quality for every performance even for the opening acts! Many transportation options there from the subway to LIRR. Probably one of the easiest venues I’ve been to thats highly accessible!Overall Great Venue! Make a point to see at least one show here!

2022-05-22Good staffing and great food options. Seating is bleacher style so you may want to bring a cushion. Get there early for events as surrounding parking in Queens is tight.

2022-05-23I recently attended the AJR concert here. The venue is beautiful and spacious, but sadly I was pretty disappointed by the service. I had floor tickets on an incredibly hot day, so I wanted to simultaneously ensure hydration as well as a good spot.Their website claimed we could bring empty water bottles, as there would be refill stations throughout the stadium. There were no refill stations in sight. The walking vendors in the floor section only sold beer, and I am not of legal drinking age (as was a good portion of the attendees for this event). After the show, I raced out to purchase a water bottle from one of the several stands, but was rudely rejected. I believed they thought I was asking for a free water bottle (as they had just kindly handed one to a young child) but when I noted that I intended to pay for it, all I got was an eye roll and “we’re closed.”Again, this was May 21, a severely hot day in NYC (as stated by local weather). I hope they intend to fix this situation soon for future events.

2022-05-23Really nice outdoor venue. Has an array of food options (tacos, burgers, sandwiches, etc). Just plan to arrive early as food lines can get a little long closer to show time. Grabbing a beer from the craft beer booth before you order will help pass the time. Most seating is stadium style, but seat numbers are spaced out enough that it doesnt feel too crowded. The far side seats dont seem to have a great view, but as far out as the 800 section we could still see most of the stage.

2022-06-06A great venue for live music! Definitely go for the bleacher seat chair upgrade - worth every penny since there isnt a lot of leg room!

2022-06-08First time at this venue to see Bon Iver. Getting to and out of the venue was super convenient because the subways is super close. Venue is small and acoustic is perfect! Due to its size I don’t think you can have a bad seat. We also enjoy the areas to have a drink or grab a bite. Clean and cute. We’ll be going again.

2021-11-08This is where they used to play the US Open 🎾 till the late 1970s. It’s now a concert venue. Saw Russell Peters perform here a few years ago. Walked by yesterday and noted the legendary names in the banners.

2022-01-05Forest Hills is a great outdoors venue for concerts. Ive seen some of my favorite bands here and all the shows Ive seen here have been awesome. The performances have always sounded great because of the incredible sound system, acoustics and setup. Love the intimate venue, great vibe and nice atmosphere to see a live show. A lot of different artist performances every summer and always had a great experience here.
