It was my first time coming to this salon and had an amazing experience. From the moment I walked in I was greeted and everyone was incredibly friendly. I got my haircut by Peter Diaz and he did an incredible job. He listened to what I wanted and even made recommendations. Overall he was amazing and very knowledgeable and will definitely be going back to him. I highly recommend booking an appointment with Peter!
As a first time customer, I could definitely say this was an experience to remember. From the moment I walked in I was greeted with the warmest smiles and felt nothing but great vibes. Peter definitely made my first visit a memorable one, I went in for just a blow out to test the waters and I’m extremely happy with the professionalism and service I received. I will definitely be coming back for a balayage in a month! And I’m recommending this salon to all my friends and family!
My expectations for this haircut were absolutely blown away because of Peter. I told him I just wanted a haircut that was fun and to do whatever he thought would look best. Albert is a talented and professional hair stylist. I tried this salon after an acquaintance recommended it and have become a regular. I have been getting compliments on my hair cuts ever since. The salon has friendly staff and an elegant atmosphere. I highly recommend it.
This was my first time at the salon and I will absolutely be returning! All of the staff were so fun and friendly and Peter is a master! I showed him some pictures of the cut I wanted and he immediately understood what I was looking for and did it FAST! If you live on the UES (or even if you don’t) I definitely recommend this salon!
One of the most patient hairstyles I experienced with. We first spoke about what type of hair and color I wanted then he explained the process and the whole science behind it, his workers were supper friendly and nice. The outcome was what I wanted. And most importantly hair came in unhealthy and came out super healthy and moist. Thank you Albert 🥰
Did my hair professionally for the first time in two years, was super anxious about getting a haircut, but Everybody made me feel SOO comfortable and welcomed. When I saw all of the positive reviews on Peter, I just had to take a chance, and Im SO GRATEFUL I did and went to him!!!! My hair has never felt more alive and healthy! From the moment I walked in, Peter knew exactly what I (my hair) needed, and I can 100% say that he exceeded my expectations and gave me what I wanted, AND MORE! His friendly nature just added that much more to such an amazing experience. So happy and grateful to have received such an awesome service. I had an appointment on Dec 12 with Orhan (not even who I booked with, they just changed the stylist on me for no apparent reason) and from start to finish I was horribly UNCOMFORTABLE. Orhan was extremely unprofessional, calling me baby and beautiful an obscene amount of times and kept telling me to smile. While that was already uncomfortable, we untied the robe they gave me while I was laying down having my hair washed, he stood facing me and pulled the robe off my shoulders, and even pulled my own personal jacket back from my shoulders to examine my tanktop for photos of my hair, followed by multiple hugs. Not once did he have permission to touch me aside from working on my hair.Orhan also pulled so hard at my hair during the entire visit that my head felt raw and left me with a headache. He also left very visible lines in my hair after doing my highlights, and didnt cut my hair even though I was charged for it. So after being charged an obnoxious price of $549, I was left with bad highlights, a headache, and no haircut.The whole experience was horrible. After coming to this salon for a year, I will no longer be returning.
First time client - read reviews and they were spot on!! Albert was amazing - very professional, excellent eye, and took care to check in with me throughout the process. Went in for a cut and ended up adding on a gloss/shine. I also booked a follow up for a balayage! Would definitely recommend Albert and the salon in general!!
Been going to this salon for awhile and they are so consistently good and welcoming. I got a cut and style with Peter today, it was quick and ended up coming out perfect. He’s so friendly and professional. Would recommend to anyone looking for a salon in the area.
Peter colored my hair and gave me a keratin treatment, which looked amazing! I would definitely recommend this place. Tina is super sweet and I really enjoyed the hair washing and head massage by her.
Albert does it again!!!!My daughter has been coming to Albert for 17 of her 18 years of age. It was really amazing because I was watching a video on Facebook on Hollywood Curls and for a guy I found it interesting and an eye catcher. So anyway my daughter went there on Wednesday for her prom hair style. I did call Albert and asked him to do a nice job because it was her special day. And I mind you that I made no request and left it up to the professionals.Well I tell you I could not believe my eyes when my daughter got home, Albert actually did Hollywood Curls on her hair. Ladies if you never tried this style I say try it. My daughter looks like a million dollars. Its one thing to have the dress,the shoes and the bag but the hair to go with it, out of this world. —————Updated on July 8th, 2021 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Albert contacted me after he read my review. He asked us to come back for my daughters hair free of charge. I dont normally go back to the stores which left me a bad experience, but since my root touch-up was great, I decided to give it a second shot.When we came for my daughters appointment, I saw the real Albert (it turned out who styled my hair was Polo). He explained to me that there were a series of keratin treatment products, and the one on Groupon and ProAddiction were for decreasing frizziness and smoothing the hair. If we needed straight hair, he would recommend Lasio. He went on using Lasio to fix my daughters hair and offered us a special rate for this service if we come back as a regular customer. This time we spent less than two hours, and my daughters hair became significantly soft and straight after the treatment. We walked out the salon happy so I am updating my review for anyone interested in their keratin treatment. Thank you, Albert!—————Posted on June 28th, 2021 ⭐️⭐️Albert did a wonderful job on my root touch up and fixed my original color by toner (root $85 + toner $40). However, my daughter’s result turned out to be the opposite. A female hairstylist did the keratin treatment for my daughter. I found a Groupon for a combo service keratin & cut for $147. They told me not to purchase the Groupon and they would match the price over the phone. When I arrived, I double checked with the receptionist on the services and prices, and everything was fine. During my daughter’s keratin treatment, they asked me to check out, but the price jacked up to $200 because they had a miscommunication. The hairstylist said she offered my daughter a better treatment (ProAddiction?) which was worth $300, but she gave us a $100 discount. I felt upset.If they told me upfront that the upgraded treatment would last longer (six months?), I would seriously think about it since the price difference was only about $50. However, the result didn’t even last for one day. After wash, my daughter’s natural hair went back to wavy and frizzy (her bottom hair had Japanese straightening last year so it remains straight). Another thing worth mentioning, they kept selling the hair products (shampoo and at-home treatments) to us during my daughter’s treatment. It became a bit annoying eventually.Here I’m leaving one more star only for Albert’s great touch up. :(
Peter made my root melt look so natural on top of my balayage highlights. My root melt came out exactly as I pictured - dark blonde going into a light tone in the ends without any brassy hues. He completely corrected my color in a great time frame. Love the final touch and service from the beginning to the end; from Peter to the assistants. will come back for sure!
Peter was amazing! I absolutely LOVE my hair! My results exceeded my expectations for a root touchup and toner gloss. My hair literally looked like I got balayaged again. The blonde color was refreshed and my roots were seamless and the color rich! Very personable and knowledgable stylist to talk with about what I wanted for my hair. I recommend Peter 💯 I look forward to the next visit!

I used one of these Groupon vouchers and got a haircut from Dia, she knows whats she doing! I am very happy with my new hairstyle and because of the great job shes done I dont even have to do much to style it and make it look good! Just a bit of anti freeze cream and there I go! In addition, Dia was very cool and fun! All other staff I met at this place were also nice and friendly! I definitely recommend this place :)

I got my hair makeover by Able yesterday and I am very happy with the result. I have tried to lighten my hair color before and most salons have turned my hair to brass. The color I got at this salon was perfect. I got a keratin treatment and great haircut as well. I highly recommend Able and this salon!
My sister and I have been coming to Forstyler regularly for months, and it is the only place in the city I would trust with my hair. While I have seen a variety of stylists for blowouts based on scheduling, I typically go to Peter and have had my hair colored by him as well. I am very picky and he always makes every effort to make sure I love my hair and walk out feeling confident and beautiful. I truly enjoy and look forward to visiting Forstyler, they always remember me and are so friendly, making me feel at home which is very unusual in the city. I highly recommend Peter and Forstyler if you live in the UES, I have referred friends to Peter as well and they love their hair color and overall experience.
Peter Diaz has been my stylist for over 8yrs. He’s taken me from highlights to an all over blonde. My color is always done with amazing attention to detail and I’m always complimented on my hair color. Love this place and keep coming back for more appointments, My hairdresser is Peter Diaz and is very welcoming when I first came in and even till my 5th visit. Helped calm down my frizzy hair and give me what I wanted which came out beautifully and now my hair is very dark as I wanted and relaxed and lasts months in my hair.Overall everyone is nice and the place is extremely clean and very great for anyone new coming in because they even sit with you and work out whatever you want even if you aren’t quite sure. 10/10 experience and definitely recommend this place. Peter Diaz is a great hair stylist! When he moved salons I had to follow him to forstyler! Great cuts and color and personal attention to detail. He cares about his clients and always does a really good job !
⚠️albert cheat clients and abuse employees!!! albert always charge clients for extra money but use the cheapest shampoo and conditioner and detergent and wine and products like bad damage hair bleach etc but charge with high price! Even forced employees to refill inferior shampoo for wash dishes and use the dirty towels to dry it ! albert lied to clients and made a lot of money from them but mean to employees! albert use reception to take photos and videos from clients then edit it to post as defraud even paid someone to write good reviews etc! albert intentional injury employee then had bad attitude even blamed the employee! ... too much unfair and unworthy things legally happened here! it’s definitely merchants without conscience!!! Please stay away from this evil place!!!
Pete Diaz does my blowouts weekly and glosses from time to time. He is fun, professional, and I haven’t found another blowout like his anywhere in the city! My hair is thick, unruly and coarse, and every time I leave ForStyler my hair is smooth, sleek, fabulous with volume and lasts more than a week.
Absolutely love my haircut! Peter did a great job, it’s the best haircut I’ve ever gotten! He took the time to sit and listen to what I wanted to do with my hair then went above and beyond. I’ll definitely be going back.
Excellent- it usually takes a colorist at least three times to get my color right but Albert nailed it the very first time. This is the most underrated salon.

Peter was professional and friendly. He listened to me explain the look I was going for and did a great job! I’m usually nervous getting a haircut, but I felt confident in his abilities and in my new look leaving the salon! The prices are a little more expensive than what I am personally used to, but I don’t paying for quality and it’s actually average for the UES. The overall experience was relaxing and enjoyable. I already made an appointment to go back next week for some coloring :)

I got a keratin treatment with him, which came out amazing leaving my hair with no frizz at all, and a few days later he did an amazing non-ammonia based toner. The toner made my hair color look so natural and amazing when it truly was a mess before! I can’t thank Peter enough!

Albert is amazing! Ive never loved my cut and color more! Ive been to so many places and left disappointed. I have long blonde hair almost to my butt, which proves difficult for a lot of stylists, but he keeps it healthy and manageable. Ive been going to him for a year now and willingly drive an hour just to see him. I get so many compliments on a daily basis. I highly recommend trying him out you wont be disappointed.

Albert is warm, professional, and truly knows how his expertise can best impact his customers’ lives - at each of my visits he has assessed for my needs and made recommendations that have made it easier than ever to look my best. His recommendation of the ProAddiction treatment (similar to, but significantly longer lasting and more effective than a Keratin treatment in my experience) has cut my styling time in less than half. He takes the utmost care of everyone in the salon at all times, including his staff, for whom he appears to be a fantastic teacher and coach. His approach, attitude, and knowledge make every visit an enjoyable and valuable experience - I recommend his salon to all my friends! I have never had color done personally, but I have been very impressed with highlights and balayage he’s done for friends and others in the salon in my previous visits.

Peter did a great job correcting my hair color. There was a lot going on in terms of having multiple colors and he did an amazing job fixing it. Gave me that perfect ash blonde color. Very quick and knowledgeable. Highly recommend!
Had a haircut and blow dry a few months ago. The stylist used razor shear scissors on my curly hair, which has made it very flat and lifeless. He did not communicate with me about the style of cut that I wanted, and it looks very bulky and unflattering. I will be getting another haircut elsewhere next month. I usually don’t post negative reviews, but I don’t want someone with curly hair to have the same experience I had.

Peter Diaz is magic! I walked into the salon with frizzy, dry ends, and plain hair. After my time with Peter, my hair is silky, shiny, and has the volume and movement I wanted! He really listed to what I was looking for and he is so skilled at what he does. I did the clear gloss treatment and it worked wonders on my hair which was pretty fried from bleaching it at home.

My hair was a dreadful mess. I had colors everywhere. My hair was dry and brittle. I had a consult with Dia. She is extremely excellent and has a deep concern for her profession. She is kind very truthful and will give you the best consultation and tell you what is best for your hair. My hair was in such disarray she didn’t advise me to get what I wanted. However, I will be able to do the style when my hair is in better texture and condition. I trust her. And as I looked around all the stylists are the same. Professionals. Wonderful place to go.
Albert is patient and listens, super important qualities for me in trusting someone with my hair ...I showed him what I had envisioned and he shared photos with me as well. I hadnt colored my hair in about 10 years so I needed assurances and he was great about it. He gave me exactly what I wanted done and he even did my sons hair; a teen that wanted to try something new for the new year. We both loved what he did to our hair. I am grateful to have Albert so close to us.
It was a good service and the place was very clean, but I asked for I simple cut and showed the photo about what I was looking for. At the end I got an uneven cut which made me unhappy, as you can see my hair looks horrible .😩
Peter was nice, however worked way too fast and cut hair so quickly before confirming the length that’s taken off. Took off a lot more than a trim, which is what I asked for.

Best Hair Salon in New York City!!! I’m usually a stickler with who touches my hair but with covid it’s been a struggle to find people who have stayed open. However, Albert has made the transition extremely pleasing and amazing. My hair has come back to life. The location is clean and welcoming and so is the whole staff. Definitely recommend this location for your every day blowout or special occasion. You won’t be disappointed!!

This place was AMAZING!! I really wish i could’ve given more tip but i have been going through some personal issues. Daleth did my hair and she is so talented. I have curly hair and she was so sweet and patient and we talked about life and i just can’t thank her enough she made my first experience the best. I loved this place!! When I walked in, I was a bit scared because I’ve never colored my hair before but the staff made me feel welcomed. Polo did an amazing job with my hair!! It’s like I gained my confidence back.
Peter refreshed my dull brassy blonde. He smudged my roots to fix the bad balayage I had done at a different salon. He eliminated the streakiness and made my hair less yellow and more of an icy brilliant blonde. Since then I have been going to him strictly for color, gloss, and blowouts

I have been going to Albert for a long time for my hair. He did my grandma’s hair and my mom’s hair for a long time now. I trust him with my hair and I don’t trust anyone else. He’s good with coloring and he knows what will look best on you. He has my complete confidence. The salon itself is very nice, clean, new and everyone is very friendly. This was my first time and I would highly recommend giving it a chance. Dominique was lovely and super friendly not to mention did a fabulous job on making my hair shiny and smooth. Happy to have this new gem in the neighborhood.
My daughters had their hair cut here with Peter and they look amazing! They raved about how much they loved him and the whole process was seamless from appt booking to paying. Fully recommend!
I’m honestly pretty annoyed by this experience. I found them through Salon Apprentice. I heard about it through a friend who gets her hair done for free by people in training. I made the appointment and went through the process only to be charged $390 at the end of it....I get that getting your hair done in the city is expensive but I would have just gone to a legit salon if I would have known and not gone through the pains of a place that it training people.It also didn’t end up looking very nice..like I have a huge chunk of light color in the middle of my head instead of framing my face..Doesn’t look natural at all.It also took over four hours for a balayage and trim.I feel pretty ripped off to be honest.
Dia was awesome. She asked all the right questions and also gave great input. I loved how my hair turned out. She also was great to talk to and would 100 percent go back again!

What a revelation! After bouncing from hairstylist to hairstylist, I found a stylist who specializes in my daughter’s hair type: Thick, long, curly hair - her expertise is worth its weight in gold. She cut my daughter’s long bangs then somehow knew where her individual curls were, and she carefully cut each curl at an angle. Finally, someone who understands what we need! My daughter is so happy with the results and even asked if could make sure to secure an appointment with that specific stylist. We made an appointment for a trim next month!The salon was extremely clean and they are following cdc guidelines for beauty salons.
Albert went above and beyond to ensure that my hair looked good. He did a color correction process/balayage and it turned out amazing! He shows he truly cares for his customers and thats always appreciated.
Albert is extremely talented and I have been trusting him with my hair for years! He will not give up until work is perfected. You can tell he works with his whole heart to make sure every client is satisfied with the outcome. I have been using For Styler Shampoo and Conditioner for years and it makes my hair smooth and healthy. I highly recommend ForStyler Salon.

Terrible experience from start to end. They took me in 40 minutes after my appointment time and then gave me a terrible haircut. I asked him to fix the back where I was unpleased and clearly noticed the mistake he made, but he disregarded it and left it as such. Finally, they made me pay the most expensive price (which apparently varies based on hair length and texture) but of course they just charge you the most expensive price even if you have a typical head of hair.
Absolutely loved the experience at the salon! I was tended to well and the staff was extremely attentive to my needs. My stylist Albert Albert gave me the exact look I was looking for. Definitely recommend this salon to both men and women ♥️ ♥️

Had a great experience with Peter...I gave him a general idea of what I thought I wanted and he made great suggestions for what would work for my hair type and did an amazing job on my cut and style. I wish I lived in New York so I could make him my regular stylist but too far to drive from California!

Alberto and Paolo have changed my relationship with my hair. Instead of a battle of wills, I now have a loving relationship with silky blonde hair. They are professional, helpful artists who help you to realize the best style and color. I called at 9:00 AM Monday morning when Salons opened. After four months without hair services, I looked like a cave dweller. I gave them four hours and they gave me a dreamy new look and color that delighted me. I have received so many compliments. I am so lucky that this toney salon is in my hood. You wont be disappointed.

This place is amazing! I am honestly extremely picky about my hair and I almost never am completely satisfied walking out of a salon.... until now. I walked in because I needed some much TLC with this cold weather we are having- my hair was not happy. Albert was amazing and gave me a perfect cut and perfect blowout. He was very precise and it’s the first time in a long time I have no complaints! This will be my new go to place!

I made an appointment for a haircut for 12pm. I came on time. At 12:30 someone named Francisca rolled through the door. There was another person before me, whom she took for color. At 12:45 I was still waiting…. Unprofessional, ridiculous… I live in the neighborhood. I could have been coming to this salon every 6 weeks. The receptionist had a nasty attitude attitude as well.
Rogerta is the best. She takes her time with every strand of hair. Overall this business is absolutely wonderful and treats every customer with astounding customer service.

Albert is the best hair dresser ever!!! He has been styling my hair for 15 years! Ive tried to go to other salons but no one takes care of my hair the way Albert does! I wouldnt change him for another hair dresser ever!
The actual salon is very nice and the workers are professional. However the stylist did not give me what I asked for and didn’t show me the cut at the end.. didn’t know what the back even looked like til I got home. I asked to keep the length and it’s much shorter: asked for it to not be curled at the end and she curled with no heat protectant spray. Will not be returning

Have been going to Albert at his Queens Salon ( Top Secret salon) for the past two years. I am so excited that he opened a new ForStyler salon In the city. Looking forward to getting some hair services at his new location in the future. I hear it is really classy and they offer coffee, cappuccinos and more. As for the work... Albert is mostly in the new salon so you have a greater chance of getting an appointment with him in the city....he is amazing. He knows his craft. He does my Balayage with the teasing and foil technique. Not a lot of people know how to do this technique so if I were you I would do my research before you let a stylist touch your hair. With Albert you don’t have to think twice. He is a perfectionist and an expert in balayage and ombré. Just be aware that if you have never had balayage or highlights done in the past it does take time on the average 4 to 5 hours. Not to scare you away with the time, but this time includes putting foils in your hair , waiting for the bleach to take, toning your hair, deep conditioning, (hair cut if you request) and blow dry. Albert takes his time and does not want to burn your hair. And he also takes the time to condition your hair to make it look healthier. Beauty takes some time and sacrifice. His staff is awesome. The new girl Mazena is lovely and very gentle. Thank you Albert and Staff for making my hair so gorgeous!

Came in wanting to go blonder and came out with a beautiful highlight and ombré with gloss that took my brassy look before to a beautiful blonde. Albert is a real professional, an artist, he will totally change your look. A simple cut , a normal color, are far from being the only option. He will show off some color mixing of a sweet and pearl blonde, or bold layers that drop the hint , he’s both creative and decisive.

2022-02-12AVOID THIS SALON AT ALL COSTS!!! I purchased a Groupon after doing extensive research online and saw that the salon received fairly good reviews. I then did research on stylists and picked Peter Diaz after seeing he was one of the best reviewed stylists. I was horrified with what commenced and have never had such a traumatic experience at a salon in my life. When I got there, they immediately pushed products on me and insulted my hair stating that it was brassy and although that looks good on some people it does not look good on me. It then took Peter over 30 minutes to come back to me after my hair was washed because he double booked me and was coloring another customers hair. He was inappropriate the whole time and at the end I was left with a hack job. The ends of my hair were incredibly uneven (pictured above). He just kept insisting he would fix it, cutting it shorter and shorter (after I told him I only wanted 2-3 inches off) until my hair was shorter than my shoulders. He NEVER made it even and said that it only looked uneven because I was pushing the back of my hair forward (makes no sense). I have been to countless salons throughout the city and have never once experienced this – that is NOT how hair works. Now I have to pay for another full cut at another salon just to fix this hack job, which I really believe they should pay for. Save your money and stay away!

2022-01-18I am SO very grateful and happy I found This salon. I wanted a quick shampoo and blow out, but I received so much more. I was Lucky enough to have Peter, he recommended great things to keep my hair healthy and of what to do next as far as color to my hair. I haven’t had any color in my hair for about 3 years because of fear to damage and not knowing what will look best with my dark black hair. Peter was very knowledgeable and patient, styled my hair beautifully. I definitely booked my appointment to do the color I’ve been wanting for a while! Cannot wait! 5 stars all around!

2022-07-05I have quite long hair and refuse to go to a traditional men’s barber shop. Came here for my first hair cut since the pandemic began and was so happy I bought a wash and blow out package and am now coming weekly! Tina that does the hair washing is amazing and gives the best scalp massages. Peter who is my stylist is great and an amazing hair stylist who know all about hair and is helping fix my hair. All the staff are professional and polite and the salon is clean and welcoming. Guys gotta treat themselves too and this is a great place to do it!

2022-06-17I saw Dia and she is amazing. I recommend her for anyone with curly hair. She was informative and my hair has never been better with all of her recommendations and with her haircut. She did such a good job pulling the blue out of my hair without damaging my hair any further. She is an amazing energy to be around.Really an awesome and professional place. The hair washers and receptionists are all also very personable and friendly, I love when co-workers really look like they get along and have great energy with each other. 2022-01-14Extremely professional and clean salon. Staff consistently checked in with you to make sure you’re okay and offered water/tea/coffee. I had Peter for my stylist and he was absolutely amazing and transformed my hair! He listened to exactly what I wanted and gave my hair so much volume during my blowout. Definitely highly recommend him for anyone looking to style their hair. Will be returning!

He listens to what you might like for a haircut and personalizes it to the style of hair that you have. He hires exceptional stylist to deliver quality hair services. 2022-04-05I had my hair done at a different salon with the end result looking complete muddy and ashy when asked for bright blonde. I was so upset and needed my hair fixed ASAP. I was recommended to see Peter at ForStyler and he completely transformed me to the bright blonde I wanted!! I could not recommend him enough!
