Very nice, organized and clean . They have many restriccions when it comes to what you can bring to the pool area so make sure you read the guidelines on their website and bring a lock to use their lockers. Try to keep it simple with stuff you bring.

My family and I love it!! LOVE THE RULES!! IF YOURE COMPLAINING ABOUT THE RULES AND REGULATIONS, THEN YOU DONT BELONG HERE. THIS POOL IS NOT FOR RIF RAFS. NEVER EVER HAD A PROBLEM. SOMEONE SAID TO PUT UP A RULE BOARD, THATS A JOKE, PEOPLE READ AND STILL DONT FOLLOW. IF YOU WANT TO COME HERE, DEAL WITH ALL THAT ENTAILS. 99.9% OF FREE POOLS ARE DISGUSTING , OVERCROWDED AND A COMPLETE DISASTER ZONE. I APPRECIATE THAT THIS IS MAINTAINED VERY WELL. IF YOU WANT TO PAY A MORTGAGE AT BTCC OR THE FORMER YMCA NOW COMMONPOINT, GO AHEAD. MORE SPACE FOR US. WEVE BEEN COMING HERE SINCE 2003 AND WE ONLY LIVE A FEW BLOCKS AWAY. SO WE WALK OVER AND CATCH THE TROLLEY.

First public pool we’ve gone to in NYC and a very BAD experience. Staff and supervision is VERY rude. I understand having pool rules, but this pool has VERY STRICT rules, more than even any military base I’ve been to. Felt like I was at boot camp, being yelled at as soon as I entered the front gate…”do you have a lock, take off your shirt, only take the towel, shake it to prove you’re not hiding anything, shake it again, take off your Apple Watch (I said no electronics!), no phone, no life jacket for your child unless it has a strap between the leg (not even the across the chest Coast Guard approved ones are allowed), no underwear under your bathing suit, go rinse off right now before you get in the pool, water bottle only (no snacks or other drinks allowed)…”the list goes on…the supervisor and stuff is just yelling all the rules and heaven forbid you ask her or them to repeat anything…eye roll or get yelled at. Not sure what has happened here in the past to cause such strict rules, but maybe find a better way to explain the rules in a much more polite manner. Maybe have everyone first required to read a rule board, while waiting in line, and make sure the rules are clearly written. Before opening, ask anyone if they have any questions or need clarification. No need to yell at families while they’re trying to get their young kids into the locker room.

I didn’t enjoy it. They make you lock up everything even your phone. You can’t have anything with you besides a towel. On top of that they make you shake your towels for proof that nothing was hidden inside of it. & the lifeguards are 17 yr old smart mouths that don’t even oversea anybody that’s swimming. Weird experience.

STAY AWAY!!!!! place is horrible parks dept staff are rude obnoxious and condesending...a lot of their rules and pool policies apparently dont apply to everyone i was told i couldnt enter the facility/pool area wearing a t shirt it had to be locked mean while their were several adult males in the pool wearing tank tops and t shirts..the pool opens @11am i was their by 1pm and the pool was already murky cloudy and a foamy slick around the deep end which was pretty gross..this place is getting away with 1 star only because it had a cop on duty at the front gate other than that ill take my chanes swimming in the East river!!

This pool is the best quietest and calmest place to go for a swim. Its hours are from 11am till 8pm of free swim time. The employees are very polite and helpful. The lifeguards are very well trained and they give free lunch from 12 to 1pm for ages 18 and younger. Perfect clean safe environment for a perfect family day.

This pool is the greatest! First, the pool here is really big and i’m glad it has two sections. The first section is the 3-5 feet deep side. Here kids can enjoy the shallow end of the pool, not that deep and good. The other section is the 12 ft deep side. On that side, is the “diving” area. Here mostly older kids jump into this area just to dive, not really a place to swim and hang around. Enough about the pool. They also have a small pool for little children and they have area’s on the grass so other ppl can just chill on the chair in the shade.

MUST BRING YOUR OWN LOCK OR YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO ENTER. No colored tees in the pool, no phones allowed in the lockers or swim area. Manager and staff are very strict. Shower outside prior to going in the pool. Bathrooms are very wet as expected so bring flip flops to go in there. Long walk up the hill with kids unless you wait for the small trolley that takes you up there but it isnt always working.

This review is based on my experience going there for the last 10+yrs, but mostly my most recent experience as of summer 2019...Pool is nice, spacious, and deep. Has an area to accommodate different types of swimmers babies to seniors, experienced or not. Diving board equipped. Lifeguards on deck. Some lounge seating provided; first come, first serve. Kept pretty clean and kid friendly. No cell phones or electronics allowed, only books (and theyre selective about who gets to bring what into the pool area; ie. preferential treatment? Idk...) so kids will definitely be focused on play time. Lockers provided, but you must bring your own lock. Free lunches provided to children. There is a shuttle provided for transport to and from pool. But most choose to walk. Takes like 5-10 mins, on an incline, depending on your fitness level. That being saaaiiiddd...be prepared. The people who run it are sometimes rude AF (there are 1 or 2 friendly employees) but gotta tell it like it is. Some are in need of a course in customer service ASAP. Mind you Ive been going for years and you would think the more seasoned employees would lead by example, but no. Sometimes theyre the worst. Attitude for days. Most seemed like they didnt even want to be there of course. I get it. Its summer, its hot. But its the job you signed up for ¯\/_(ツ)_/¯. Do some people deserve attitude? Absolutely! But some were aggressive for no reason (heat maybe?), and some were mocking some of the patrons present at the pool that day (no manners maybe?) Moral of the story is, if you dont like your job and are going to make everyone around feel miserable, leave. Otherwise your gonna get yourself fired...Anyways, theyll rush you to get out of the pool when its closing time. I mean like you got 5 minutes top. Especially if its lunch time. So I suggest you give yourself an early start when leaving the pool area. Sometimes theyll start evacuating way before times up anyways... again, depends on whos there and what the mood of the day is...Other than that, if you dont let the petty little nonsenses faze you, you and your family will have fun. Happiness is a state of mind after all...
