This place is awesome authentic Chinese food. Fresh fish and big portion for sharing. I enjoyed my time here with my Wife and son. We had a lot to eat and we enjoying our stay there. The waiter was awesome and gave us a breakdown of what we were eating and what the chef specials were.
Awesome place for quick and great tasting food. The dim sum is priced amazing and the service is great. The place can get crowded at times but that just speaks to how good the food is. I think theyre pretty well located too being that it looks like its part of BJs but its not. Highly recommend the food here.
My wife and I moved to Levittown over the summer. Tonight we decided to try Chinese food in the area. Shopping in the area I noticed Fortune Wheel, so I told my wife let’s try it. The service was good. The food not bad, but I’ve had better Chinese food. After dinner I was going to ask for dessert but the next thing I knew the bill was in front of me.It’s not like I won’t go there again, but we are going to be on the hunt for another eat in Chinese restaurant.
The food was very tasty but But there was a odor in the building like stale water or something but my daughter said it was the (kimch )😆 there was a the staff was great as was the service the Shrimp with Lobster sauce & Beef with Broccoli was also very good. I will go back
My absolute FAVORITE restaurant!!!We have been going to Fortune Wheel for years already and its truly my favorite restaurant. I love the food, the service and the whole ambiance of being there. Whether you order the basics or brand new dishes they are all amazing. I love how friendly the owners and all the staff are. We feel like family the way they greet us with the warmest of smiles. Keep up the great work Fortune Wheel.. we are true fans!
I have had awful experiences with this restaurant. Found a piece of hair in the food and the manager insisted it was a bristle from a cleaning brush (as if this was an acceptable event). No apologies. Mapo tofu was super bland, just big chunks of tofu and uncooked ginger thrown together. Beef chow fun was also not seasoned at all. The restaurant refused to provide an itemized receipt with prices for my take-out after I saw that we didnt have one inside our take-out package. Honestly, Ive had decent dim sum experiences way back in the day at this restaurant, but the quality and service at the seems to be decreasing rapidly. If you are not white or Chinese/do not speak Chinese, they will try to rip you off. Stay away from Fortune Wheel and go to the other dim sum restaurant just north of here instead.
I was in the vacinity so I went in for lunch take out. They are not the usual fast food Chinese place so wasnt sure. They said yes. I ordered shrimp egg foo young and quart(large) of wonton what I got was tempora moosh with no taste and the wontons, mostly dough. Paid $23 for that!I also ordered small shrimp and mushrooms, no rice or starch and small hot and sour soup. What I got was a cup portion size of shrimp and mushrooms with no sauce. Paid $17 for this.Lunch was expensive. We get these dishes all the time at various other places so I know what to expect. This was not it. Oh well on to the next.
Quality Chinese food that reminds me of the old “ taste of Chinatown “ market fair in NYC. I don’t go here much because it is more expensive than the Chinese take-out exclusive joints but when I want a treat of Chinese food I choose Fortune Wheel. The wonton soup is amazing and the crystal shrimp dumplings are the most mouth-watering I’ve ever had. Could definitely use an updated interior.
I practically grew up going to this place if my family didnt want to drive out to Flushing for dinner. The staff is efficient, but also nice and actually interact unlike some other authentic dim sum locations. I enjoy the setting of upbeat talking and ceramic clinking and clanking. This place makes food that makes me feel at home and the people who service us have been there forever. Never change.
Im Chinese American and this place has been in my familys life for over 20 years and still is whether its for birthdays, holiday dinners, or weekend dim sum. The food here is probably the most authentic Hong Kong Cantonese style cuisine you can ever find on Long Island and better quality and taste than many restaurants in Flushing and Manhattan. My parents still come here weekly BC its so good. Sundays gets incredibly packed for dim sum which says a lot on how delicious it is. Definitely recommend for anyone craving good quality Chinese food.
When you want to have an authentic and fulfilling Chinese food experience, this is a wonderful spot for regular dining, and for having Dim Sum. The service was amazing, with the food being delicious at great prices! Not to mention, they have an amazing non alcoholic citrus drink they serve in the summer. All in all, a good place for lunch and dinner.
I havent been here for a bit and I was looking for a lighter meal. The seafood casserole was excellent. It wasnt something I would have usually ordered but I am very glad I did. The staff was very attentive. Fortune wheel is known for having more authentic fare and this is highly recommended.
Ive been going to this restaurant for a long time and its the best dim sum place you can find on long island (maybe besides flushing). They only have dim sum around lunch time but they have some other good dishes too. My favorite dim sum dishes are rice noodle with shrimp or with fried dough and shrimp balls. I would stay away from the bubble tea though since the tapioca isnt fresh.Fair warning: its not exactly the cleanest restaurant and some westerners might not be used to that.
My Family has been going to this restaurant since I was a kid and now were bringing the next generation to this wonderful place. I was able to have my wedding banquet here and every one of my guests kept talking about how great the food was weeks later! Amazing Dim Sum on the weekends with famous Shrimp dumplings, and excellent authentic Chinese dishes for lunch and dinner!
The food here has really gone downhill. I been to this place several times for the dim sum and each time was worse than the previous. I am finally at the end of my strae in giving this place a chance. Even though this is one of the closest places to flushing for dim sum, I recommend you try elsewhere. There are so much better food on long island that will treat you better and taste good. After eating here, I got the worst stomachache that left me in the bathroom for the day. For the cheap eats, you definitely get the price you pay for.
Been coming here since I was young for dim sum and dinner. Only place where I can eat dim sum in peace because they rarely use peanuts in it (although their dishes are another story) and the quality is always consistently good. Best dim sum Ive encountered on Long Island.
Have been coming here for years. Its one of the few authentic Chinese restaurants on Long Island. The owners have remained the same over the years.A great place to come for dim sum as well as a full meal. The food is fresh, prepared well and quickly. As with most Chinese places, it can get a little loud...so if you looking for a quiet dinner out, you might want to look elsewhere. Each year on the week of Chinese New Years, a local martial arts place will come and perform a dragon dance for the customers. They hand out red envelops that the customers fill with dollar bills and feed to the dragon. Its entertaining for the kids, and the martial arts place makes a few bucks. The surrounding area has changed drastically over the years, but this place has remained virtually unchanged. It will be around for a while because of the quality and authenticity of the food.To really enjoy what this place has to offer, go off the board a little, you can get pork fried rice at any take out. :)
This place has really great authentic Chinese food. I went here with a bunch of friends and the owner was super nice. She pointed out a few things on the menu we should try and everything was amazing. She made great recommendations.I usually go to Flushing for real authentic food but this is just as good as everything I used to get from there.
While the service at times can vary and it can get crowded at times, Fortune Wheel is easily the go-to place for authentic Chinese cuisine in Long Island. The Dim Sum is always high quality, as is their dinner meals. Orders such as the Crispy Fried Flounder or the Peking Duck come with table side service, which is always nice. A great place to eat for those looking for authentic cuisine and not-so-authentic meals as well.
I have never been so disappointed in a restaurant in my life! Let me start by saying that my wife and I have been long time patrons of this establishment but after tonight NEVER WILL WE STEP FOOT IN THIS SHADY EXCUSE OF A BUSINESS AGAIN! We went tonight with a party of 10. We ordered 11 items and they only brought us 9 of the things we ordered and some chicken dish that no one ordered and looked like it had some sort of sauce with brains in it, that a female waiter said was chicken and noodles. We were missing our pork pan fried noodles and one of the two orders of dumplings. When they brought the check the two missing items were on it. Which we could only deduce by counting the items as the only part of the bill that was not in Chinese were the prices. When we asked for the missing food to be taken off the bill, the staff actually claimed that what we were already told was chicken noodles was the pork. None of us are idiots, and we all know what pork taste like and what chicken tastes like and that my friends, was chicken. And although they had no argument against the dumplings they wouldnt take that off the bill either. They are a bunch of shady people and I dont like being ripped off!
Authentic Cantonese style dim sum... But my last visit was disappointing... The pork in the shumai was not chopped up properly, beef rice noodles wrap tastes weird, and the braised chicken feet were not tender enough... All in all a sub par experience. The prices were very economical though.
Honestly, kind of hard to find this place squished in next to Best Buy.Fortunately, I finally did. I guess you can say it’s your “standard” Chinese banquet type of place with an emphasis on Seafood. Giant tables and lazy Susan affair. However, the food is WAY BEYOND standard! Literally every dish was delicious. The duck was earth shattering. Clams and black bean sauce had my KIDS asking for more!Go there. Probably best to go early or at off hours. Definitely gets crowded because people recognize their quality.
Very authentic! Been coming for about 15-20 years. The fact that a majority of people are of asian descent that are sitting eating, says a tremendous amount about the authenticity. I must say that the restaurant is beautifully decorated and they put on a nice Chinese New year celebration
My favorite dim sum place. Prefer to go on Saturdays, as Sundays can get quite crowded. Lots of selections, friendly staff (especially if you become a repeat customer). Our favorite server has made several great suggestions which we now regularly order :) Went here for dinner once too, was outstanding.
This Restaurant is located in the Best Buy Shopping center off of Hempstead Turnpike. Servicing Levittown and the adjoining areas of Nassau county. Plenty of parking and a wheelchair accessible entrance. Moderately clean facilities. Public Restrooms. Credit cards accepted. Many Asian patrons which is always a good sign for the authenticity of the food. Dim Sum is good. Dont compare this place to NYC/Flushing Chinatown, for Long Island its pretty good. We will definitely be going back.
Arrived for dim sum this morning looking forward to the experience as a proud foodie. Opted to order from the menu as the servers were missing us where we were seated and trying to get their attention every time was slightly frustrating. So my wife and I ordered 5 different items, we were served with one item. After no less than 45 mins or so we were told that they didn’t know we weren’t served our entire meal. By this time we decided to ask for our bill and leave.I thought it may serve them well if I spoke to their manager. He was nonchalant and actually ignoring, turning his back during our conversation.NEVER GOING THERE AGAIN!!!!!!
Have been coming here for a few years and food has always been good..however today the service was less than great, enough to write this review.. Waiter didnt care at all about us, not sure why since we were there at 3 pm, place was empty, so no excuse. Also they ran out of fried rice? Unheard of.Not giving up on this place but the owners should know that their servers need to step it up a bit.
This has been by far the worst experience I have had on Long Island. I am a very patient and reasonable person, but I will not support a business that does not care about their customers. I went in at 10:30am to take out dim sum. Most items were ready and some items were not going to be ready for another half hour, which was fine with me. I return at 11am and the food was not ready. No problem, I’ll wait for another 10 mins. Also, someone calls in for a take out too. I wait for another 20 mins and by now I have waited 50 mins. Dim sum should not take this long. I ask if I could cancel the items that are not ready and just pay for the items that are. The lady says my order was not ready at all and asked if wanted to cancel the order? Implying I cancel the entire order. I repeated myself and she did not get me. Also, the other person that ordered way later had their order all ready by now. At this point, I canceled the entire order and left. They have so many customers, they don’t care. They should’ve told me the food was not ready instead of having me wait almost an hour. Do I expect top notch customer service? No, but they should learn a thing about being considerate and not ignoring customers. I guess when business is doing well, losing a customers doesn’t matter that much because they’ll always have other customers supporting the business. It sucks and it saddens me. I’m sure the food is good, but don’t expect the best service.
They serve leftover dim sum and very dirty bathrooms . And over priced for this kinda quality food . And even when we told the manager that the dim sum is bad , but still charged us .I don’t recommend this restaurant to anyone.Unless anyone that have very low standards .
Weve been going here for years. Only Chinese Restaurant we go to on Long Island. Only authentic Chinese restaurant on Long Island. If you want American Chinese food go somewhere else. If you are familiar with Chinatown or Flushing restaurants, you would not comment on the decor.Unfortunately, the service can leave a lot to be desired unless you are Chinese or a regular customer. But, again, if familiar with Chinatown, you would not comment.
Great food. Fast service. Not for everyone. If you want to be waited on like a traditional restaurant, this isnt it. Its much more traditional where the waiters reach over you, etc. The food is what most asians go there for, not the service. Thats why you get such skewed reviews on Yelp.
I come to this excellent place many times as I like the special atmosphere that is characterizes this restaurant. The personel is awfuly cordial and qualified. The service is very quick. Most important, the food they prepare is excellent. I came often and I was always joyful. The rate is reasobable. I highly suggest this place to my friends and family.
The food was very good tasting but I will rate them a 1 star due to observation of toilet habits of workers. I observed that at least one worker did not wash his hands while I was in the bathroom but instead, turned on the faucet for 1 second to pretend. The soap dispenser doesnt seem to go down at all while it does work. My wife notice ed another server who smelled bad. I wish the workers would at least wash their hands after using the toilet and hope that the owners read this.
Watch out for the bill, owners are tricky. The price is different from the menu and they also added extra that you dont know about because it is written in Chinese. It happens to me many times. I would never eat there again if I were to decide but my friends wants to go there because they said food are tasty. I would give it a zero star because I felt We were being cheated...
Back in my day, before the covid, this would have been my mecca after my 7 hour journey from Vermont. No, this isnt Chinatown nor Flushing, but you also dont have to deal with all that nonsense and just park in the FREE strip mall lot.Did I mention F Covid?!I miss the tight indoor seating, as closely resembling a crowded outdoor asian street market than most Americans will encounter. Now, there is only takeout.Best Hit is the tripe.Pressure cooked and served with fresh ginger and scallions, this is french asian fusion charcuterie at its haute finest!
Food is undercooked and no flavor. I’m not exaggerating. Stay away from wonton soup. Shrimp broccoli undercooked and cold no flavor. Fried rice was a bit better but needs soy sauce. The rice it’s barely dressed up either. Barely any eggs, no onions, no veggies.Passion fruit smoothie was good. Never coming here again. Good luck to those that do.
Really good food, HORRIBLE service. Waiter took a while to take order when he came over he asked “what do you want?!” As he was taking our orders he was looking around and sounded like he said “oh my god” because he was overoverwhelmed . When food came out it was the wrong order when I tried to tell a different waiter it was wrong order before I could finish he cut me off. When ready to pack food after meal woman who came up didn’t understand anything we were saying. Bad service and rude all around. It would take a lot for me to go back and sit in restaurant. Just order out but check food before you leave to make sure it is the right order.
This is as good dim sum as Ive ever had. Wife variety of options, theyre hot, and service is better than average. I suspect that bec of the location, def more white ppl than other dim sum places on Long island. U might have to share a table w other ppl, if u are just two or three ppl
Absolutely the best authentic cuisine in this whole area... I have been coming to this establishment for years and have never had anything less than the freshest most delicious meals... both dim sum lunch and date night dinners... highly recommend to anyone wanting to have a nice sit down Chinese meal, flavorful to the max!!
General Tsos & Chicken & cashew. Went here on a recommendation for take out, it was not good. Peas overload, Tso chicken tasted like burnt oil & no flavor/sauce on the chicken & cashew. This is Chinese food 101. I am shocked at the good reviews although I notice they are mostly from a while ago. I will never stray from The Orient again!
How is no one mentioning the smell that comes out of this place? I attempted to eat here once and the smell that surrounds the restaurant on the outside only intensified inside. Wo Hop In NYC has a basement restaurant and has no smell. There is no excuse for the smell.

2021-12-18This is an excellent Chinese restaurant in Levittown. The restaurant is spacious and the staff were all masked observing covid protocols.Featuring both take out and dine in, the menu has very good food choices to suit a varied taste. Both meat lovers and vegetarian can get a good selection. The wonton soup is an excellent starter in addition to their steamed pork buns. For the main course I had the prawns (shrimps) with straw mushrooms. This was in a delicatable sauce that also had snow pea pods and carrots. The other course was Beef with Garlic sauce which was another good tasting choice. The pork fried rice had green peas and sliced fried eggs along with pork.Over all this is a very good dinning choice and one of the best Chinese restaurants around. Located in the nassau mall next to BJs, there is ample parking.A good place for family or date night.

2022-02-06I’ve been going to Fortune Wheel since I was a kid for 20+ years. Their food has always been consistent and authentic. A true staple on Long Island for Cantonese cuisine. Even after moving out to eastern Suffolk I make it a point to always visit, especially during the Lunar New Year celebrations. On select weekends during the celebrations they have Chinese lion dance and martial arts performances. Fortune Wheel is great for family events, kids will love the atmosphere. Highly recommend trying the salt and pepper squid if you like calamari, it’s different than Italian calamari but super tasty, especially with some hot sesame oil sauce. Dim sum on weekends is a great way to spend time together. 10/10 - can’t wait to take my own kids one day.

2022-06-05Been going here for like 20 years...dimsum & dinner always excellent. Its like Chinatown or Flushing but closer and easy parking. Usually lots of Asian people eating here so you know its good.

2022-06-18Wonderful Chinese restaurant serving authentic Chinese food. It is next to BJs and there is a huge parking lot so no difficulty finding a spot. Great for long Islanders as they dont have to go into Flushing and fight the congestion. Staffs speak English and Chinese so language will not be a barrier for the non-Asian speaking. Menus are also in both Chinese and English. They have set courses, depending on the size of your party, in the front of the menu for those who want a price fix menu and dont want to order a la cart.

2022-06-05Dim Sum is good. Place is very busy at peak time, you might wait a bit longer time to get served. Overall is a great place to go if you want to try traditional dim sums.

2022-04-12This restaurant is one of the authentic Hong Kong style restaurants. Every time we come here for lunch, we definitely order dim sum as its really authentic, similar to HK dim sum. For dinner, definitely order the double lobster with noodles.

2022-05-31The food was good. But waiters are so mean, terrible and no respect us. (we are deaf). I tried called them what we need. They ignored us. It was our first time there. Waiters r terrible servers.

2022-03-26Their front door is rather unassuming, being squeezed between Best Buy and BJs. But this is one of the more authentic Cantonese/HK style restaurant I can find so far in Nassau. Their dim sum selection is good, as well as their dinner menu.

2019-02-16Havent been back in years. Came here for dim sum with some relatives and then they had a traditional lion dance which lasted close to thirty minutes. Food was great and was comparable to the authenticity of eating Cantonese cuisine in Chinatown, NYC.

2017-04-04This place is the king of dim sum. There is a good variety and all dishes are prepared well and tasty. On the weekends it gets very crowded and can be loud but people are waiting out the door. Most of the waiters are all business, but as long as the dim sum keeps flowing , nobody minds much. There are often a lot of Chinese people eating here and that is a good sign of good Chinese food and dim sum. The prices are fair . A total recommendation. Enjoy!
