The place looks and feels good but maintenance is not well, lacking attention to detail. Upon check in I was told my room was a no-show even though I called a few days early to inform I’ll be checking in late. WiFi throughout the entire hotel was not working temporarily. I agreed to have an accessible room, later found shower is broken, room phone is broken, safe is loose and not attached to anything. I asked to move to another room, I found a safe that’s not working again. Broken closet doors. Feels like the rest is yet to come.
In our double bed room our children’s bed was infested with bedbugs. We woke up to blood spots on the corner of the mattress and both children are covered in bites. See photos. After bringing this to the attention of management we waited hours for help in the lobby and then we were told they would perform an investigation and that was all they could do for us. We asked for a clean room for everyone to shower and change into new clothes we had to go to target to purchase so we could avoid bringing bed bugs into our car and ultimately home with us and we were told by the front desk that we needed to leave the property immediately. Worst experience of my life. We are far from over this experience but want to warn you to STAY AWAY from this business. They are infested with bed bugs and they will do nothing to assist customers who fall victim.
Worst experience I’ve had at a hotel, EVER. Stayed at the Downtown Platt Street location for an entire week to celebrate my birthday, and let me start by saying the rooms are literally boxes. There’s very little to no room, and the bathroom sink water was cloudy & green. Upon bringing that to their attention they said they would have an engineer check that out, who never did. Then, I woke up with a bug bite on my back which couldn’t have come from anywhere but their hard as a rock mattress. Lastly, they charged us a new rate for all 5 days we were there and neither the employees or “supervisor” could explain how we got those charges. If I could give ZERO stars, I would. I definitely don’t recommend this hotel.
There was BED BUGS in my bed and me and my family were BIT. We were shocked that this “nice” hotel had BED BUGS. They said they would provide us with a clean room where we could shower but a few minutes later even before they gave us a room to shower in they kicked us off their property telling us “you need to leave immediately”. They initially said they would refund us which hasn’t happened yet and also they didn’t give us new clothes which they said they would pay for. They made a slew of promises before telling us we needed to immediately leave. Me and my family had to spend $200 on clothes at target simply to be able to get in our car. Bed bugs spread like wild fire and the last thing we would want to do is risk bringing them home. Again, the hotel did NOTHING to help us and literally told us to get off their property. We were completely and utterly shocked. Two children are COVERED in bed bug bites and the hotel recommended we throw all of our property in the trash. This is no exaggeration, STAY AWAY.
Staff are great and it’s conveniently located. It’s gross though. Stained towels, stained sheets, stained carpet. Weird smells, ragged sheets. Wifi doesn’t work properly. It’s cheaper than comparable hotels in the area but you get what you pay for.I’m kind of shocked Sheraton would allow their name to be attached to this place.
There were bed bugs in my bed. When I told the front desk, they were initially apologetic and offered several things, though they went back on every offer as the hours passed. Then they kicked me and my family out of the lobby for answering when people asked why I was there. I am covered in bed bug bites. They itch and my clothing is all in need of dry cleaning that possibly wont be comped by them. If I could rate this 0 stars, I absolutely would.
Coffee was not served as they said it would be. No breakfast. Bathroom shower had mold and smelled disgusting. The heat in my room was inconsistent, as in barley worked. The room coffee is not worth it — watered down tea. The tv has no guide feature so you need to scroll. There was a place to refill a water bottle in the gym, and the gym is spacious. Stay at Fairfield Inn, way more bang for your buck!
This is not a Marriott, this is at best a Motel 6. AC quits working due to their cheep Assa Abloy thermostats they use. The new room the thermostat doesnt work as well, at least the A/C did stay on though, but the fan was set to high not auto and yet and turned off all the time. We wanted the fan on high to drown out the noise from the maintenance closet that chirped loudly 24/7 every two seconds, even after they tried to stop it. Their maintenance here is worthless, peeling wallpaper, broken shower tiles, loose panels in the elevators, no laundry at all, burnt out light bulbs, etc etc etc. I would never stay here again. There are thousands of options in nyc, pick another one, wish we had.
A friend and I stayed here during memorial day weekend and it was one of the worst experiences Ive ever had. The AC unit in our room didnt work and the engineer straight up lied to us about having fixed it. We had to sleep at almost 80°F and when they finally moved us to a different room, not only was it a downgrade, it had the SAME issue! We ended up having to open the window to get some ventilation going because it was cooler outside in the summer than in our room. The staff all seemed to be friendly enough, but the fact that none of them knew which rooms had working AC and which didnt was disappointing, pair that with their engineers trying to fix the issue by flipping a switch and then calling it quits when that didnt work and you get an idea of how frustrating the whole ordeal was.
Had a terrible stay here. When we arrived, we were notified that the WiFi was not working and that it wouldnt be fixed until the afternoon the next day. I had to work remotely so this was unacceptable and so they assured me that an alternative WiFi source at their sister hotel the Marriott around the corner could be used, and they said that i could use the lounge or restaurant area there instead.I turn up at the Marriott and I find out that their WiFi is also not working. I end up calling their IT to get their WiFi sorted (was sorted after an hour) and then went to bed. The next morning when i went to the Marriott to use the WiFi for work they said I wasnt allowed into the restaurant/lounge to use the WiFi and we had to argue that we had gotten permission from their sister house to use the WiFi. If the staff at the Sheraton hotel (there was a african american man and a lady working on the night of 18th of April) had just communicated to the Marriott hotel and checked that their WiFi was working and also let the receptionist their know that Sheraton guests could use the WiFi there would be less miscommunication and less problems. Would never stay here again.
Good location near Fulton subway station, WTC, pier 17 where you have nice view of Brooklyn bridge. There are free coffee and tea in the lobby during breakfast time. Our room was clean but needs a serious update. Furnitures are old, there isn’t any chair. Closet’s door can’t be close correctly. Wifi doesn’t work for three consecutive days. Our room was on 22nd floor but it became noisy after 8 am due to a on going construction site next to hotel.
Staff actually texted my wife and asked her to MEET HIM ON ROOF TO SMOKE A CIGARETTE When HE GETS OFF AT 11PM to discuss having to pay out oof his pocket for a mistake he made on our bill. Actually pounded on our room door to ask us to check in again when we were already booked and checked in through Expedia and front desk. 90s art-deco room. Welfare floors in building. AC doesnt work in many rooms. 12PM checkout bit housekeeping tries to get you b4 10. Left a Citizen Eco Drive Black Face, Rubber band watch along with 2 Bulliet Bourbon mugs my wife bought me and a pair of shoes and have been trying to GET IN TOUCH WITH THE LOST AND FOUND for 8 MONTHS NOW. The lost and found department is a division of HOUSEKEEPING. Suprising. ONE OF THE HOTELS ON THE CORNER OF 6 PLATT STREET and 215 PEARL STREET. New York. NY 10038. (RESIDENCE INN, COURTYARD BY MARRIOT, 4 POINTS BY SHERATON) Owned by same individual. The 3 Hotels are a division of Marriott Bonvoy. Take my advice, go to another Marriott Bonvoy site...like Aloft on Ann street. Staff there wont hit on your spouse.
This is the worst hotel I’ve been in NYC. It smells in the room like dirty socks, from everywhere. Impossible to spend 5 minutes in the room without opening the window. Hotel employees are not willing to change a room. Impossible to book another hotel because this one has 2 days cancellation policy - so now I have to pay for 2 days in this smelly room
Positive: Location Negative: Nobody told us that we need to requested for a house keeping to clean the room, so the first night we went back to the hotel, the room was a disaster, we phone called to the front desk, and they answered that due to the hour (late night) they just can
Good location close to subway and walking distance to many things. Room was clean and as advertised. Front desk staff were friendly. Free coffee service in the morning. Free bottled water available. It is definitely an OK option and we got a relatively good deal compared to other options that were available. I am satisfied with the stay - but this is a no frills experience. I would stay again if I had to. I want to give this 3.5 stars. I amNegatives:There was a rooftop bar but it was closed because they let their liquor license expire??? Thats quite odd. The only bar was in the attached Asian restaurant which was waaaaay expensive for what it was. They advertise the beer bar as part of the Four Points experience so strange this was not available and not a COVID related reason.Breakfast while included for me didnt make sense if you had to pay for it. $18 for a choice of essentially 2 eggs and a piece of sausage or oatmeal. I am not sure I have ever seen an $18 bowl of oatmeal before and all it had on it was raisins. The breakfast situation is honestly highway robbery and you should instead go down the street to Jubilee market where you can find a much higher quality selection of hot food and bagels for $4 - $6.The lobby bathroom did not have soap for the 3 days I stayed there but yet it was regularly being cleaned. Not sure what was going on there.
Alfredo and Marlena at the front desk were amazing. I was having an issue and they were so quick to make sure I was alright and assured me the issue would be fixed. In less than 10 minutes they took care of me and ensured that if I needed ANYTHING I could reach out to them. They made my stay very enjoyable, and because of them I would highly recommend one stay here. The excellent customer service they exhibited is rare to come across.. Thank you very much!!!
We checked in late, after midnight and the overnight manager, Pedro, was very accommodating and helpful. We paid for a city view room, however our initial assignment was wrong and the sheets were stained. It was a very small and cramped space. We notified the front desk immediately and Pedro assigned us a new room. It had a better “view”, meaning that we had more lighting but the area itself consisted of views of individual’s personal living rooms as we were surrounded by apartment buildings so our blinds were kept for most of the day. We were on the 25th floor, and there were only three elevators, so most of the time the elevators got packed quickly with people without masks - laughing and talking - so that was a bit worrying. Our phones in the room didn’t work, and apparently none of the phones on the floor worked. That was a bit inconvenient as we weren’t made aware initially but then we were informed to use our cellphones to call the front desk’s general number. There were a few trash bags left by the elevator by other guests, which wasn’t removed throughout the day.As for outside, there were plenty food options in the surrounding area that were walking distance away being that we were in the Financial District. That was convenient. We spent two nights for a quick trip, but for anything longer I don’t think I’d stay here again.
Positive: The staff was very friendly and helpful. Front desk and Restaurant. Our room was in the 18th floor. The building has 3 elevators so you don¿t have to wait long to go up. We did not hear any noise at night and were able to sleep well after our long day Negative: When we arrived our room was not ready and had to wait about 30 mins which put us behind to attend our Broadway show but we were given breakfast vouchers for the inconvenience. The room was small but ok. Room service was not available. I made our beds.
Me and my sister stayed here for 4 nights because we thought the location was perfect for what we wanted to do on our trip, and the price was great. But, our room smelt so bad I didn’t even want to stay there but we already paid for 4 nights. The bedding smelt old and moldy, I asked for the bedding to be changed the next day and they said they need more notice to book cleaning services, but they would give me clean sheets to change it myself. which is ridiculous. So I asked for it to be cleaned the next day then. The light was burnt out in the hallway when we arrived, which they did change the next day. But the smell of this room is indescribable- the old carpets felt wet and smelt like musty, old wet socks it was so disgusting. And there was no fan in the bathroom. The whole room just felt dirty and my jacket soaked up the smell of the room so now I have to get it dry cleaned. I couldn’t wait to leave and wash everything I packed and have a shower when I got back to my house.
Very good I paid 100$ more for the gallivant in Times Square per night and it didn’t even compare close to these rooms. We did not have a fridge but we called the front desk and within 15 minutes we got one! Amazing and on top customer service. In the gallivant we had no option for a fridge at all… This hotel definitely prioritizes customer service and we will be for sure staying here again, Thank you for having us!!!!
Positive: Location Negative: The amount of hold they need to put was bizarrely double the total reservation amount. I booked $--- stay and chose pay at hotel. Hotel had no justification to put $2010 hold on my account. This is the most ridiculous policy. I don¿t recommend.
The worst experience with Marriott hotels. As a Gold Elite member I was provided with an extremely small room that had air conditioning and phone not working. While I can live without the latter, the former was critical to have considering very cold weather outside. Also, the room did not have a fridge and was quite dirty. Tables obviously were not cleaned and were full of l hairs observes in different places. Experience with Customer service reps was different. One person (young woman) was very assisting, whereas the other (young man) did not seem to care much.
I had a great stay. Traveled for business. Lobby furniture could use some love but the reception staff are excellent; courteous, helpful and efficient. Hotel is close to several restaurants, good lunch possibilities and close to subway/Path. Overall, a great stay. Would come again.

Awful customer service. I made a reservation for my son who is a West Point cadet after Army Navy game. They canceled his reservation at 1140pm at night and left him stranded in lobby. Two days away from being 21 and on the night of army navy game and the staff at the front desk don’t have the common sense to secure his reservation I made for him. I had to walk three blocks and make another reservation at midnight and reassure the incompetent staff that daddy would stay in the room with his cadet. Pathetic
Was hoping for a cleaner room & more amenities for the price I paid. Coffee was the only thing offered in the lobby & the urns werent even out half the time. The shower wasnt clean & the room didnt have a mini fridge. Was disappointed when I saw most patrons without masks. The staff did not enforce the NYC mask mandate. When I was checking out, I asked about getting a cab. Instead of offering to assist me, staff told me to walk couple of blocks down to catch one. The staff made it a point to tell me to rate the hotel a 10 on the survey.
The rooms are very small and have no fridges or microwaves. The bathrooms are also small and feature weird product dispensers instead of individual packaging. No housekeeping on two of the three days I was there. Large groups can clog the small elevators. I saw several guests who looked like escorts. Rap music and the smell of weed from the room next to me. But the front desk staff were cheerful and efficient.
Size is what you would expect for a nyc hotel. What I wouldnt expect is hairs in my bed when I arrive and the bathroom smelling of mold. Most hotels are going the extra mile for cleanliness during this time. Apparently this establishment decided not to. Many other options in the city that are spotless and disinfected...I would skip this one!
The hotel is an excellent location. Close to the water, subway stations, restaurants, coffee shops, supermarkets, you name it, it was close by. The room was small, but very clean. The coffee maker wasn’t fully stocked with supplies, but we asked the front desk and they provided us with whatever we needed. Staff was friendly and professional. DJ (I think that’s her name) was excellent, she went above and beyond to make sure we had what we needed. We would definitely stay again.
My friends and I booked this stay for 1 night for this Saturday (26 March) and due to our flight being cancelled last minute we are unable to get any other flight to New York on that date. So we sent several emails to the hotel stating our situation but did not even receive a reply let alone a refund for these unforeseeable circumstances.Horrible service. Never taking Four Points again!
Rooms stink like cigarettes, staff are deceiving and parking is atrocious. The first two rooms smelled like cigarettes upon arrival. Receptionist instructed us to stay while she finds a clean room but conveniently took a spray bottle with her. The third room still stank but this time had a pleasant temporary aroma. Was charged every time I used parking garage and price was higher than informed. This place is surely a dump and not family friendly.
The hotel seems to be undergoing some renovations and currently there is no food available in site. And due to the construction it was a bit hotter than expected and smelled dusty. Over all the space was nice the bathroom was a bit aged because of the fact that they had a tub and drapes. It was my first time going there and a Marriott Loyal customer and by far that’s my least favorite in their properties in NY.
Traveling from California was a long journey. I had some bad experiences trying to get the right hotel... Thats when I found this gem👑 what made the experience exceptional, was the woman at the front desk. Her make is DJ and she literally saved the day. She was very helpful, kind and compassionate to my needs.Additionally, the room is very comfortable and clean. Mine also has a very nice view of the city. I will definitely stay here again 👍🏽
I am very disappointed about booking at this location from a billing stand point. This was my first time booking this location. I am a loyal Marriott Bonvoy member and share holder. We were incorrectly billed for both the incidental and the room charge. I attempted to address it with multiple parties from the location and have not had a resolution. From the night person, the day guest manager, accountant in the office, no resolution. Only left to do is complain to corporate and contact my credit card company to dispute the incorrect amount charged to my card. By the way this was handled, there is a high chance this is the norm at this location. If you are a person that do not monitor your credit card charges, you would be incorrectly billed and you would not notice. Shame on you Four Points Downtown. I am still waiting on a call from the GM. Maybe this review will motivate the call. I will be happy to do a follow up when the matter is addressed and billing errors corrected.
Arrived with my wife and my baby close to midnight due to delayed flights. The hotel states in the Marriott Bonvoy App parking for $50/night is available, not true; the hotel uses the IPark location around the back and if it’s full, you’re on your own at midnight with your wife and your baby in the car. The manager’s at the time solution’s were: “I can cancel your reservation at no cost or you can find another parking”. At midnight! Even after announcing I was a Titanium Elite Member he had no change of attitude and no solution to the parking problem. When I promoted that the Hotel offers parking and showed in my phone what is stated in the App, his response was: “I don’t why that is there, that is not true.”We asked for a crib, when the crib was delivered, it was delivered with no mattress, as a mattress solution we were giving three sheets where the baby was supposed to sleep on according to the staff who delivered it, my baby was supposed to sleep on hard rock cardboard with sheets as support for the 3 nights we were there . It took almost an hour until the manager himself went and found a mattress. There was no fridge as according to the manager they are a “first come, first serve” item. He put us on the list and for our 3 nights, we never had a fridge. I was not treated at all as a Titanium Elite Member, there was no recognition of it and I felt this was the worst stay of my entire time with Marriott (over 10 years now) ever, poorly and terribly managed hotel. Worst hotel experience of my life by far. I regret the day I made a reservation at this hotel to stay with my family.
This hotel was reasonable for the class hotel. Upon arrival, it did not appear to be a place you would want to stay but if you get past that, it was not a bad hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful at check in and pointing you to sites. It was located near the pier area for great sight seeing.
The hotel was clean and hygienic. However, the customer service was poor. There was absolutely zero smiling or warmth. Any touch point with the front desk just left you feeling like you were a complete bother. We called down to ask for flatware for our food delivery. I was told the hotel didn’t have any, but might be able to scrounge up “a fork” lol. I thought, Okay cool, whatever, that’s better than nothing and having to either venture out in the middle of the night to find plastic utensils or letting my daughter’s ice cream melt because there is no fridge. But then we waited and waited for like an hour. I called back down to check in and they sounded like they completely forgot. Eventually someone came to our room with three plastic forks. He seemed totally annoyed that he had to be there and told me next time if I needed something I could just come downstairs in this very passive aggressive tone. Ok, cool, duly noted. The only smile or eye contact we received the entire stay was towards the end from a lovely lady working on the left side of the front desk. I even checked in with my daughter to see how she felt about the experience and she agreed staff were curt and unfriendly. Unfortunately, The entire experience just led me to conclude that I definitely will not be booking the downtown NYC/FiDi location again. My only advice is that a little smile and eye contact goes a long way. Everyone has a busy life, work and their own itinerary, but if your job is in customer service, a large part of that entails rolling up your sleeves and making your clients feel welcome.
I reserved a room and requested to use a suite night upgrade from my account. A few nights before check in I received a confirmation email that my suite night award was granted allowing me a King suite with separate seating area. I needed the separate seating area for a work meeting that was to take place. The hotels business center was also closed, understandably due to covid so having the seating area was necessary to facilitate my business travel. However, when I arrived they changed my reservation to a regular room and said all the suites are under renovation we don’t know how you were given a suite. I showed them that even online and via the Marriott App that the suites are available at full price for someone to reserve, only to arrive and find out there are no suites and have to deal with a lengthy refund process or potentially an overbooked situation. Had I been informed that I would not get the suite upgrade or that the suites were unavailable I would have made other arrangements for the meeting. Last minute accommodations elsewhere for the next day meet were not possible so late in the evening. The room provided had several light switches not working, toilet ha due was broken off and the light fixtures by the bed were loose and falling over. In addition, I left my watch by the bedside upon check out and when I called not an hour later to ask for them to retrieve it I was told cleaning staff was in the room and that there was no watch. The room had not been rerented either. I thoroughly searched my own luggage to avoid placing unwanted blame but a $500+ watch doesn’t just go missing by itself when no one else could have entered the room after me.
I guess the expression you get what you sometimes comes into play. From the moment I checked in I was surprised by this being a Marriott property. At check in we asked if we would require housekeeping because theyre short staffed and dont have much of a staff now. The bed in the room felt like it was 30yrs old and was awful. There was no soap in the shower dispenser and only one towel in the room. Between how loud the AC unit was and the very uncomfortable bed, I barely slept either Fri or Sat night. This was definitely not what Im used to when staying at Marriott.
After walking into my room I realizes there was not hand soap nor clean towels. The only towel in the room was a small towel met to put on the floor when walking out the shower. When attempting to call the front desk, the phone in the room didnt work, which left me to go down to the front desk. They informed me they had shortage of towels but were able to provide several hand soaps. I also requested to change rooms thinking the next room would be fully stocked with towels and soap, but this was not the case as I carried the hand soaps that was previously given to me. Also in the second room, there were several strands of hair in the bed. Overall this was a bad experience.
Soundproof is poor enough. When you got to sleep you hear every 10 minutes how somebody hits a door. And when you still want to sleep in the morning, early birds do the same. The cleanliness of the bathroom was so-so. Towels were very old, thin, and almost didnt absorb anything. I felt like clean myself with a rag. There was no soap in the bathroom when just moved in.
I’ve been to NYC numerous times, and and this time I explored lower Manhattan and Brooklyn. It was in walking distance of Chinatown, both bridges, and One World Observatory. The room was clean and seemed newly updated. The bed was comfortable, and the staff was helpful and friendly. I would recommend this hotel and would stay here again.
I strongly disagree with all negative reviews. I stayed at this hotel for two months, therefore I believe I am well positioned to review the hotel. (1) room size: for NYC standard the room was large - note I stayed in the corner king (2) cleanliness: room was clean upon check-in and additional housekeeping was executed promptly - note: due to coronavirus front desk informed that housekeeping needs to be requested by the guest. (3) bathroom: clean & nothing wrong with it. (4) guest services & staff friendliness: staff goes above and beyond. (5) A/C: only had 6h without A/C because of power outage; neglectable. The only negative point were disrespectful guests slamming doors, being loud, utterly rude and selfish - the hotel staff did everything to resolve the issues that arose in a timely manner. In short. I would stay at this hotel again and recommend staying here.
This hotel was not clean. There were hairs on the sheets, the pillow cases were ripped, and I’m positive the room had only been fluffed back together prior to our arrival. No way had it been actually cleaned. Not to mention that one of the towels was also obviously dirty. The front staff were unhelpful and rude.
My room was not fully cleaned when I checked in. Open bar of soap with hair on it was in the shower and the shampoo/Conditioner/Body wash was empty. Wall paper is peeling in the room I stayed in (608) in several places. Construction was going on next to my room early in the morning but luckily I was up and going to business meetings by the time is got really loud. Fire alarm testing was going off mid morning one day when I had several business calls. I had to leave the hotel and find a place to take my calls which was inconvenient. I wish we would have had more notice so I could have planned by day.
My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel for four days during our trip to NY. Yes this hotel is very close to everything, there’s a subway station two blocks away which makes exploring NY very easy. Staff at the front desk was nice. However there is some down sides. The first day we came in , there were trash, and pile of trash bags in front of the hotel entrance . Yes it’s New York but still... I expected better. Housekeeping was the worst. Although they don’t come in during your stay to clean due to Covid , all I can hear on my floor was housekeeping. It was very difficult to take a nap, or even enjoy some quiet time. They were very loud, banging on doors etc.. I am not saying that my experience was bad overall, but the housekeeping having no etiquette was definitely a turn off.
Completely different than what I had expected. Very dirty rooms and lobby. I booked a king room but it had no amenities in the room not even a coffee maker or fridge, forget about water bottles. The view was lame, as you can see on photos. Hallway and elevator smelled like Pot all the time.
We stayed here because my sister was having a medical procedure and the doctor was nearby. Amazing location - I ran along Battery Park and the pier. Lots of great takeout options; safe area to walk around. Super friendly and helpful staff! Rooms were clean and I felt very good staying here during COVID times. Kudos to doing all the right things!
Positive: Location and the service we revived from hotel employee even before we arrived to the hotel as well as up on checkout. Negative: I want to express my extreme gratitude for the Alyssa Nappi. She extremely polite, helpful, patience and goes beyond her way to help with a warm and welcoming smile. She was so polite when I called her before we arrive to ask some information. She rocks!
Pretty nice hotel, okay staff and room. However the tap water in my room was white and that was never fixed so i had to buy water. In addition, I needed to go downstairs and ask for amenities that were listed as included such as coffee maker and blankets. Trash was never collected, In a pandemic this bothered me as my stay was almost four days and I was bringing my trash outside.
Found rat droppings in my room and when I presented this issue to the front desk, they offered a refund. I was also told I would get a follow-up call within 24-48 hrs, and I didnt. I understand these are hard times for everyone, but some concern and promptness would have been nice, along with another room. I will never stay at this hotel again and do not recommend it, considering the price.
Advertised rooftop bar does not exist.Front desk employees were rude and unable to make changes to stay duration, instead telling me to book another stay online despite knowing there was availability? The rooms have soap dispensers in the shower, which were empty and never refilled. I’ve had better stays in a hotel 6.
The hotel was clean and nice but the restaurant is not open every day and we were there Sunday to Monday when it was closed. Also, the hotel can validate parking for the garage for a discount but, eventhough we called multiple times for parking information, the hotel never told us that. Thankfully the garage attendant did so we went back to the hotel for the stamp.
The rooms were definitely not Covid clean. They werent even regular times clean. The bed spread was stained, old dirty carpets throughout the rooms, and dust covered almost all surfaces. We waited hours for them to clean two rooms that were adjoining but yet nothing was cleaned when we finally got to the rooms. It was gross and we wouldnt stay again.
I booked this hotel (using the word hotel loosely, more like motel) for Father’s Day weekend. My husband must think I hate him after booking this place. Right after we checked in and my card was charged The person at the front desk informed us of everything that was shut down broken and not working as our keys were being handed to us. The rooftop bar/restaurant that we were excited to go to was shut down. On the website there was no mention of that. It is advertised as if it’s still open. The ice machine didn’t work. We had to go across the street to the 7-Eleven just to get ice. Parking is of course an issue. It was $60 to park your car for 24 hours. If you have to leave and come back they charge you another $60 no in and out. So you have to be lucky and try and find parking on the street but chances are you won’t. Bed sheets were dirty. This place sucked. Stay somewhere else.
HORRIBLE PLACE DO NOT BOOK HERE.Rooms DO NOT look like the photos.ALL THE ROOMS ARE VERY SMALLBad customer services and very rude.THEY ONLY WANT YOUR MONEY.Was promised money back never compensated.Checked in and they gave me the wrong room, then they move me to another room and everything was dirty. They had to move me AGAINTwice i had to change roomsConstantly lied to by the staff about being compensated and whether the manager was there or not. HORRIBLE place DO NOT BOOK
The room had 2 double beds. One of which was completely sunken in like a crater. Not sure how this was overlooked by the staff but this is unacceptable for a Sheraton chain. We will not be coming back. Also no restaurants or bars were open at the hotel and the machines in the gym did not work. Horrible experience
Excellent location and ok room (with upgrade). No cleaning for five days, we were brought towels after request and didn’t take old ones and staff is ok. This is a great location very close to most subway lines and most of the attractions on downtown. Plenty of restaurants and stores around. Due to COVID all amenities were closed, but rooftop seems to be great. Overall you get a good room for the price.
The price point was great. Harry’s restaurant which is right outside the hotel was perfect and delicious. This location is great if you have business or activities in the financial district however it’s pretty far from all the “hot spots” if you are here for vacation.
It was very shocking that the room was not cleaned for a single day of our stay. We stayed 5 nights and received a note upon arrival that they did not do it in stays of less than 3 days, but apparently it does not imply the number of nights, they are simply NOT cleaning with the excuse of Covid, when it should be more exhaustive.
Very conveniently located, cozy hotel. The rooms are on the smaller side with some of them under 200 sq ft, but that’s Manhattan for you! Close to various stores, transportation hub at Fulton St, New York Stock Exchange, the charging bull, ferry to Staten Island, and much more. Rooms are new, clean, and nice to sleep in. Very cheap, frequently available under $100 a night!
The hotel is clean, not run down, and I am really impressed with the low rate! We got two rooms. The rooms are smaller than normal. The most odd thing occurred. When I got into bed, I felt dampness. I got out of bed and saw that the entire one side was drenched in urine. It was not believable. The hotel gave me a different room. Otherwise, it is a real.nice hotel, professional staff, nice rooms. The decor is modern.
I’m very disappointed in this room. It smells heavy of marijuana in the room and in the hallways. I called the front desk for a room change and they said changing the room won’t make a difference. I’m thankful I brought my scented oil and put it around my nose so I can sleep peaceful without inhaling weed every time I breathe. The t.v. didn’t work and no fridge microwave in rooms. Rooms are small-similar to a motel. Parking is offsite but an easy two minute walk cost around $47 for 24 hours. Lots of restaurants and cafes near by. Major attractions are walking distance. I will not be coming back.
This hotel has a great location in downtown and very walkable which is why we chose to stay here for our short one night stay. Unfortunately, they are expanding this building to include additional Marriott properties which has produced a lot of construction, noise and great difficulty in accessing the property. In addition there was no hot water in our room upon departure. Maintenance tried to resolve but was not successful in doing so before we had to depart causing an uncomfortable start to our day. The hotel management was made aware but has not yet reached out to us to extend their apologies, including with the traditional email survey guests are supposed to receive upon departure. This certainly isnt the worst place to stay while in New York, but based on my experience Id likely pick another option...there are so many others to choose from!
I dont know where to begin. From the time we check in, until we checked out two days later, it was the best experience that Ive ever had!! The hotel staff were kind, attentive, accommodating, and very helpful. The gentleman that checked us in ( on Friday Nov. 22nd) was very personable and helpful. He heard my daughter saying that she wanted to stay in a room at the very top of the hotel. He managed to get us all the way to the 23rd floor, and did it with a smile! The young lady that worked during the later part of the evening was very kind and helpful as well. She hooked me up with some great Thai food on Saturday Nov 23rd, along with some great pizza from Joes. Both were in walking distance from the hotel. She also advised me that to catch the number 4 train uptown, it would be easier to use the bigger station on Fulton St. If that werent enough she reassured me that it doesnt matter if my daughter was selected for Americas Got Talent, it was a win for her just to go into the audition by herself and perform. I just cant say enough great things about these people, top to bottom it was just a great experience. They helped make my daughters first trip to Manhattan memorable! I will always be grateful! Thank you Four Point!
Unfortunately we could not even stay one night. We got a king room and immediately after getting off the elevator the smell of smoke/weed was so overwhelming. I thought things would be different in the room but the smell got into the room. I had to go back downstairs to request a different room but the person working motioned to me that the people seated were all waiting ahead of me. Service was very slow and the others just wanted to check in but for some reason it took a very long time for the one person working there to get them checked in. When it was finally my turn I was informed that they were completely full and so I couldnt get another room so all they could do is return our money. This came as a surprise to me because I didnt know hotels were allowed to be at full capacity during these covid times. Most people ahead of me in line were being given rooms they did not request due to the hotel having limited rooms so there was definitely a lack of rooms somehow. Also mask wearing was not enforced.Unfortunately service was not great at this location, the place smelled, and there seemed to be little consideration for those staying here. You would think with the Sheraton name and the fact that it is covid times, this hotel would have done better to ensure safety and consideration of its patrons. In the end we luckily found a place in the middle of the night and unlucky for us we didnt get the refund that they promised when we left the hotel.
My first disappointment. The hotel was not clean, fitness center closed and rooftop closed. My room had one towel and not even a wash cloth (until I requested it). The shower gel dispenser was empty, no coffee in the room or hotel for that matter and no bottled water.
Stayed for two nights - our room was not cleaned in between nights. When I asked on Sunday checkout if it was some sort of New York hotels standard practice not to clean, I was informed it wasn’t. I was asked if I was still in the room in the morning - they won’t clean with someone in there. I left my room at 7:30am. Then he asked if I needed anything and that was it. Now maybe $359/night is a reasonable price for a New York hotel, however, I still feel that at paying that price I should have the bed made, coffee refilled, and clean towels for the bathroom. The hotel desk attendant didn’t seem to willing to do anything to rectify the situation - maybe I was too nice about it.If you’re still reading I will highlight some of the positives. I did request an early check in and late checkout that could not be accommodated. The staff held my luggage though so I could explore the city and not have to haul it around. The staff was also mostly friendly. The room was small yet cozy.
Slow computers, stressed and careless staff about guest’s needs. Unclear staff about what had to be offered (breakfast as I specifically booked this hotel for this reason and location). Calling once and then going down the lobby and talking to two front desk staff to get the vouchers!! Careless and untrained staff are all over this hotel!!! My room was clean and very quiet! So I loved that. Great location and close to my business meetings.
I had such a pleasure staying at this location. I was here for business and it is conveniently located 4 minutes walking to my place of employment. The rooms are very nice and the staff is AWESOME! Lisa in particular at the front desk has excellent customer service and she was able to professionally and efficiently resolve a minor error in my room. She even followed up and remembered my name and room number when I went down to the front desk a couple days later. Thank you for hiring such great employees like Lisa!
So it asked if I wanted a city view... That was a lie lol And that front image is very misleading as the restaurant was closed. However everything else I was content with.My view wasnt of the city but it was ok nonetheless. I had picked the hotel for rooftop bar which was closed when I got there 🙄...But I still felt safe and enjoyed my stay. Oh yeah, please make sure the liquid soup is filled!!! 🤦🏾♂️This review is confusing I know. So people might have had an issue but it wasnt anything that bothered me. I would stay again.
My room was next to a group playing music and being loud. Front desk said, yes you can try to get a refund through a third party if you can. So I do so. They call the front desk to confirm a refund. Guess what he lied and said it wasn’t policy to issue one. You kidding me? Say that from the start. Why cause me the trouble of contacting the 3rd party to get one then.
Accommodation is expensive in NY, and I visited for a work meeting. The rooms are small, and the bed not particularly comfortable. In my room the water pipes had some issues with pressure when not in use and kept creaking loudly all night. The air conditioning is also very loud. There isnt a chair in the room, just a stool, so its not great for working. Very centrally located.
We arrived early and quickly assigned us a room much better than we had booked. Very clean and very attentive. Every day they cleaned our room and there were always clean towels, water and coffee. Near World Trade Center, Statue of Liberty, Brooklyn Bridge, and others places.
We stayed at this property from a Friday to Sunday to help our daughter move into a new apartment in the financial district. Location was excellent. Only complaints were the room was very small and the ice machine (5 floors away) did not work. It was a very warm weekend, high 80’s, low 90’s. Very convenient hotel for us, would not hesitate to stay again.
Excellent checkin experience with FPBS New York Downtown, offered Late Checkout right upfront. Room was clean and comfortable. Had an issue with the TV remote not working - was resolved right away. I was concerned that with the hotel being located in a business area, a lot of places wont work late but plenty of Starbucks, 7 Eleven, Subway, etc. were open at least until 7pm and plenty of other options available within walking distance. Quite pleased with my stay and will most definitely consider this property again when coming back to New York.
The room was decent however the customer service could have been overall better. We arrival really early so they had to hold our bags and try to get us the first room that was clean... They did good with getting a room for us pretty quick but then they didnt seem to know which bags we had even though they were tags when they took them. Nothing really impressed me during the stay and when we asked for a late check-out they just said no which I have never encountered with any hotel. I dont feel this hotel was a value for the price and needless to say this wont be at the top of the list of hotels to return to for future NYC visits
Really disappointed. I’ve never been to a Marriott brand hotel that was this dirty. First I noticed a large ball of hair on bathroom sink- I figured, no big deal, the cleaning person must have cleaned out the sink and missed throwing it out. Then I got to the bed. There was so much hair on the comforter and in the sheets. They clearly hadn’t been changed. The sheet wasn’t a fitted one so wasn’t really tucked in. I should have never looked underneath. So gross. I called Marriott checked out and moved to a new hotel. Unfortunately at a much higher price because it was the night of in New York City.
The hotel was perfect for my boyfriend and I, we came here for a mini get away. The hotel was nice and clean. It was close to restaurants which is perfect that we didn’t have to walk far. The only thing is, is that the rooms are a bit small but we didn’t need much space so it wasn’t a problem. Also, the rooms to other guests were also very close to our room and you can hear so much noise coming from the hallway especially when people closed their doors, it was so loud and a little annoying at times. Other than that I enjoyed the hotel, the restaurants around the hotel were really good too. I would for sure recommend!
This is my worst experience at an SPG Hotel.- Didnt get an offer for complimentary upgrade room as SPG Gold.- At around 4pm, asked for a meeting room that is not occupied but were not made available to me, as I wanted a space for discussion with 2 other hotel guests.I stayed in room 2608. - Air Conditioning or the Thermostat is not sensitive towards heat/cooling.- There is rust at the hand railing in the shower.- Some rust stains on the tiles in the shower as well.- Water pressure at the shower is low.- CNN channel consistently flickersThen related to Best Rate Guarantee (not a matter for this hotel), I have shown more than 3 times the lower rates elsewhere. Never got them to honor the difference at what I would say is due to the responsiveness of the Best Rate Guarantee Team. It generally takes hours before they get to you. (6 hours shortest, 12 hours longest) How would one expect the rate remain that low as rooms gets sold for you to verify? And when there really is proof that one of the rooms were cheaper, and I made clear I want to claim for just 1 room (as only 1 room remained due to the slowness of Best rate team processing the claims) they said my reservation was for 3 rooms so I need to find a matching 3 room rate.Even though all 3 rooms rates were the same when I booked at SPG,com and it would also have been the same case had I splitted the reservation to 1 room + 2 rooms.
This hotel is by far the worst hotel I’ve been to. The linens were dirty upon arrival, the sink was broken, one of the lamps on the headboard did not work, it was extremely cold in the room especially due to winter, the room wreaked of cigarettes due to people smoking in another room & it coming through the vents into our room, this hotel isn’t a good hotel to bring a fire stick or a game console because the WIFI requires a sign in on a browser ( we tried everything ), there were people fighting in the very next room the morning of our departure, the shower doesn’t completely close so be aware of that & also be prepared to constantly ask house keeping for towels for the floor because the water from the shower goes all of the floor.
The location was great and the room was clean. The only problem I had was with the shower. Mine was just a continuation of the bathroom floor with a slight depression for the drain. No shower curtain or lip or door or anything. That was fine but my drain didnt drain fast enough with the water running and I almost flooded half the bathroom in the first 10 minutes of my shower. I called for towels and they were very accommodating and the service was great but just be careful should you stay in a room like mine.
Stayed one night in one of the double rooms with my family. The room was quite comfortable and the bathroom was really nice. Parking fees were relatively affordable compared to other hotels in the Manhattan area. Close proximity to Chinatown was one of the reasons we chose it. Treated very well by front desk service. Forgot some personal belongings when we checked out but the hotel staff were able to find it and hold it for us to recover later which was really appreciated.
Hotel is in the middle of renovations/conversion to a Marriott Courtyard. Rooms were small and ours was in need of a few repairs. Difficult to access by vehicle due to construction. Was not able to get the upgraded room I was offered, however, they did give us breakfast and drink coupons in exchange. Front desk was understaffed/had to wait in line a few times. Domenique was very friendly, though, and did everything in her power to make our stay comfortable.
Staff was super friendly, location was okay less then 5 min walk to South Street Sea Port and pier. The bar next to it closes at midnight and is part of the hotel. The Desert was two thumbs up. As for the room... I had the queen size bedroom which was super small and didnt even really have a closet. The room was clean-ish and the bathroom okay in size but still small too. If youre just using it to drop your bags and just see New York then youll be okay. I was told they have larger rooms so you might inquire before checking in.
I spent a crisp, festive December weekend in NYC. My first time staying at Four Points. The bed and pillows was the cozy comfort I needed from walking around the city enjoying the seasonal decor for hours. The shower water stayed in the tub and not flow outside on the bathroom floor. As for the toiletry, the nicely fragrant body wash, shampoo and conditioner was mounted in the shower stall which is brilliant. No need to mess with tiny travel size containers and worry that you need to save some for the next person in your room plus the labels of each item was easy to see with large fonts. Bottom line, I enjoyed my stay at Four Points.
I come to NYC for work several times a year. This is my first time at the Four Points by Sheraton and am pleasantly surprised. The FP will be my new go-to! The bed is perfect and I slept as well in the hotel as I do at home which NEVER happens when I travel. Rooms are nice. Smaller but thats standard for NYC. Rates were very competitive. Food was outstanding. Staff friendly and accommodating. The one thing that I think should be improved is the Lighting in the lobby. Its ultra bright and harsh like fluorescent lighting. I arrived at 10:30 at night and that lighting made me think this was going to be more like a motel stay than a Starwood Hotel stay.... thank goodness that was not the case. Highly recommend this hotel!
We stayed here in early May and were pleasently surprised after the mixed review. We used SPG points to reserve the room. Check in with smooth and friendly they gave us an upgraded room with city view, not sure if corner rooms etc would have been available. The room itself is on the smaller side, however not as small as feared. It is nicely decorated and has everything you need.Bathroom is what you expect.Room was clean and had a decent view on the 24th floor.A brewpub is attached which serves a nice selection of beer on tap.
Overall this is a nice Four Points. I believe that the Four Points brand is the lower quality Starwood brand, but this hotel is certainly not low quality. Everything from the entrance to the rooms was excellent. The rooms are super small, my single King bed took up the entire room, not much room to really walk around. Bathrooms are nice as usual and everything in the room was clean and nice. Location is kind of out of the way Downtown, but it is close with a subway nearby and then there is always Uber. I cant wait to stay here again.
We had two rooms for five of us (three teens touring Pace University) & two adults. The rooms were very good sized which was a pleasant surprise as, which is NYC is known for very small hotel rooms. The property was clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We all agreed wed stay there again, however there were some issues. The dispensers (shampoo, conditioner and body wash) didnt work
Im an SPG elite and have stayed at SPG properties all over the world. Room was falling apart. Hinges coming off. Cheap wallpaper peeling. Bathroom tiles were completed by somebody who had no idea how to install grout properly. The sink was missing a stopper and the stopper in the tub was broken. The beds were horribly soft and uncomfortable. The walls are paper thin so I could hear the maintenance guy slamming the maintenance door at the end of the hallway every morning at 6 AM. As to the service, the staff took an average of about 3 hours to deliver something even as basic as towels. Nobody seemed to care about my issues and when complaining they would just say were not a full service Sheraton and shrug their shoulders. One of the worst experiences Ive ever had at an SPG property. The complimentary breakfast at the Ketch had hilariously poor food quality (everything was overcooked) and the servers forgot or didnt bring half our order. At one point I had to go back to somebody in the kitchen to find somebody to help us.
The staff really were great here and made a hotel that is fine from a facility standpoint above average. Very attentive, very accommodating, very polite, and it really did make our experience much more pleasant.Rooms are small but its downtown NY, so thats to be expected. Location is very good, and price was great, so I recommend this as a very functional, well-staffed option.
The location of the hotel is excellent- easy to walk to Wall Street, the Brooklyn Bridge, Battery Park, and the 9/11 Memorial. Unfortunately the room was not that clean and very worn- bed covers were stained, wall paper was peeling off, shower had debris on the floor, stains on the desk chair.
Stayed here for 2 nights with my family. Room was clean, elevators were surprisingly quick when we used them, and the front desk staff was very halpful when we had questions about the area. I had heard horror stories of slow elevators and dirty rooms in other NYC hotels and was pleasantly surpirsed that this one didnt have those issues.
I have been a loyal customer to Marriott hotel having a titanium status currently and spent over 200 nights in Marriott hotel. Easy to say that find a different Marriott hotel, this one is not worth your time. The check in was not flexible, I asked for an early check in and still was made to wait till 2PM.The hotel phone was not working, and I wanted water so I texted them through the app no one responded. I went down to the lobby to place the request, they noted down the request but was never delivered.I was on the 28th floor, but you won’t get any views as there are way too many taller buildings surrounding you. The tv is outdated and the room is pretty small. Elevator are slow and they take a while to come,
I arrived and was told that the fire department would be testing the alarm system in the morning. Was not notified when I made the booking, and no offer for compensation was made. Also the WiFi disconnects literally every 5 minutes and I have to continually reconnect. They kept giving false hope that it would be fixed, and after my two day stay, it was still not fixed. Will not be staying here again.
The rooms were clean and well kept. The hotel was quiet which is a big plus for the city. The amenities, like shampoo, conditioner etc were a bit lacking (dispenser bolted to wall), it was an overall nice experience. There were an oddly significant amount of lights; small LEDs flashing from the thermostat, smoke detector, alarm clock, and night stand outlets...annoying, but not a deal breaker.
I had the absolute best experience here for my first ever trip to NY. Check-in was quick and easy and they held our bags for us so we could roam the city until our room was ready. The rooms were a little smaller than we are used to in Florida but we had a decent view. However, we did have an issue with the elevators and Dominique went above and beyond to ensure the remaining time of our stay was nothing less than exceptional. I cannot say enough about her, she really went above and beyond. Will stay here again, hands down!
This is now the third time I have stayed at a Marriot and have had massive issues. We arrived at the hotel and were told we were relocated to Brooklyn due to some plumbing issue. However, when I said we refused to stay in Brooklyn they were able to rebook us a room at the downtown location, so the plumbing issue story was a complete lie as a room was available. We were then charged twice for the reservation. The person at the desk told us the manager would refund us. However, this simply never occurred.I would strongly advise people to not stay at this location or any Marriot for that fact. Completely ruined our trip and I am beyond devastated.Additionally, the rooms were dumpy, location was weird and the front desk personnel were absolutely terrible.
The room was quite small, and the bathroom had no fan... But other than that, it was fine. Its not like I was planning on spending all of my New York vacation time in the room anyways. Its just a place to sleep.I had opened the window to let some fresh air (its New York... the air isnt great) in, and got the nice ocean breeze, which was great! The neighborhood was nice and quiet, because its in the financial district. Its also great for taking a midnight stroll around the surrounding streets, because its not too crazy. The people at the front desk were incredibly nice and hospitable, so that was a plus.
Rooms were very nice, excellent service all around. Entire staff was very accommodating. Restaurant is 15% for hotel guests. Not much in the area for night life on the weekends, but the hotel is close to subway stops to easily get anywhere in the city. Was able to easily find free street parking for the night (Saturday) as well.
Very nice hotel, a bit fancy for a very reasonable price. The staff was very nice and welcoming. I would go back there. The only bad thing I could say is about the size of the beds. We had two beds in our room and each of them was good for one person but it was a bit tight for two.
Matter resolved on billing and I revised my review rating based on the resolution. The rooms are a little small but is expected in New York downtown.Location is definitely great. There is no business meeting rooms or business center available so business travelers should be aware.Cleanliness is good. Not sure why they only allowed use of the revolving door though..Had billing went without an issue it would have been 4 stars.
This hotel is pretty clean and new compared to other Four Points By Sheraton hotels Ive stayed at. The rooms are a good size. Priscilla at the front desk was very welcoming and nice when we checked in. It is conveniently located near several subway lines. However, it was difficult to control the heating system.
NEVER AGAIN! I usually stay at Hiltons, but since I needed two beds I paid more to stay here. When I arrived no two bed room to be found. Then, I’m told to leave my luggage in the morning and when I come back the right room will be waiting. First, the front desk person couldn’t find the luggage, then told me there are no two bed rooms available. And then told me he couldn’t make a key for the current room... so maintenance walks us to the room- for which I don’t have a key. We had to find our own luggage, for which we had luggage tags. And still sharing a bed... and when asked why this happened the desk person replied “I’m just the night guy” he also asked for descriptions of the people I spoke to previously and responded- “I wouldn’t know them I’m the night guy” never ever staying here or at another Marriott ever again.
We were given a room with a broken A/C. We found that out after unpacking. The phone also did not work. I had to used my personal phone to report the issue with the front desk. The manager was not on site at that hour so we had to pack back up because we were given a new room.
Room was quite nice. Nice large TV. No mini fridge? Bathroom was adequate. There were two tiny blood stains on the shower curtain but we didnt report it. Less than 15min walk to the 9/11 memorial where there is also a nice Westfield mall. Less than 5min walk to South street Seaport but the big museum/food court is closed for renovations. Didnt really check out any local restaurants except for Capitol Grille which was delicious. Close to the 2 & 3 subway line to go straight to Penn and Times Square. This hotel is attached to a bar/restaurant which seemed nice but we didnt go to it. Service was fine, nothing spectacular.
I was on a business trip to NYC, and it was my first time living in an SPG hotel. I was upgraded on my checkin to a high floor suite which was really fascinating and beyond my expectation! The room was clean and big, and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. I was very pleased for this stay.
We just used the room to sleep and shower. There was always water and the room was always clean upon our return. Bed wasnt so comfy but you cant really compare it to a bed that youre used to sleeping on back home. Staff was very friendly, they made our checking in and out a breeze. Its a great spot to reserve, its close to everything.
We had a great one night stay at Four Points by Sheraton NY downtown. I just needed an overnighter to continue my journey. This place was perfect. The property was well maintained, adequately staffed, and the price was awesome. A light bite of crab cake sliders and vege spring rolls and martinis was great.
This is one of the best low-cost hotels in Downtown for the value you get. While the rooms are small (like all other downtown/NYC hotels) they are very clean and new! The location is great and easy to find. I found the room to be very quite and comfortable. I would stay here again.
I loved this place! Just a bit hard to find because the street it is on is very small. The rooms were comfortable and clean! Staff was good. Didnt really have food but free water, tea, and coffee, is good .A bit pricey because it was a weekend. Overall it was excellent and we were very pleased!
The room I stayed in was quite small even for Manhattan. What bothered my partner most is that the rooms aren’t very soundproof. You can hear what people are doing next door and it’s not a great place for light sleepers, especially if you’re paying for ridiculous FiDi prices. The surrounding area is not as lively or impressive as many other hotel locations in the city.
I booked a King sized bed and they gave me two twins. Not even two queens. The room is dirty and there was no refrigerator. It was cheap (?), Though at only $175 for one night before taxes, and it was close to my job in the morning, so thats a plus. The restaurant downstairs looked really good, as well.
Hotel/Laundry service lost a full suitcase of clothes and did almost nothing to offer actual cash compensation for the 16 items of clothing lost. We missed meetings, were late to the office, lost out on a client engagement event, etc.DO NOT stay at this hotel. There are so many other options in FiDi and you will be happier else where. I recommend Club Quarters or AKA.I could not believe the response. They would only offer compensation if we had receipts for every single item of clothing they lost.... WHAT?! They did not even refund the cost of laundry that they charged.
I’ve stayed at many hotels and this hotel is the perfect one. Me and my boyfriend enjoy our time here every time. The hotel staff are very nice, and care for your needs the best way the can. The rooms are always clean and comfortable and I feel right at home every time we stay.
1. I made a reservation for a room which was described as “a corner queen room, this double room has a seating area, one child under 12 stays free, the max no of cribs is 1…”I got so small room that there was a place only for the bed. No seating area, no extra place for a child to sleep, nor a place for crib. There wasn’t even a suitcase rack. (Not that there was space for it).No shelves in the one door closet, nor a hanging shirt display.2. I asked to be moved from this horrible room but the hotel was full and I had to stay in this room for three nights before I got other room. I was told that there will be no extra charge.3. in the checked out we got two bills: one bill - for the first 3 nights (with the correct price that I had to pay per night) but the credit card was already charged four days before the check out!Second bill - for the last 4 nights- with double price! 4. they charges us, tried to refund and didn’t know how to do that, called the manager by phone (he wasn’t there all day), brought an assistant who didn’t know what to do either, called again to the manager, charges us again with the wrong numbers, tried to refund and so on. My wife spent there two and a half hours!6. At the end- when we arrived to the airport we discovered that we missed our flight.
This is a new hotel, so the décor was good. Service is excellent, and the food at ketch is amazing.Update: the housekeeping at the hotel seems to come up short more often than not. I regularly find myself calling the front desk for basic amenities like soap, shampoo, etc. Ive never had to do that in any other hotel.
Nice hotel, convenient to the Seaport. Rooms are small, but cmon, this is NYC. Thats kind of expected. The room is clean and modern, the bathroom was also clean. Room service is unobstrusive and efficient. Room service is available from the attached restaurant. Delivery was quick and my meal was good. I would stay here again. The view from my room wasnt great but that wasnt why Im in NY so it didnt matter.
Having stayed in shared dorm rooms in hostels, I dont consider myself a picky person when it comes to overnight lodging. But I do expect more from the SPG brand than from a hostel because Im paying a higher price. Now, this is Four Points and not the W, so I wasnt too upset to see the shampoo, conditioner, and soap administered from a dispenser rather than getting the freebie bottles. However, I was surprised when I jumped into the bed and did not get any bounce back. The bed just did not have any cushion, and was unpleasantly hard for a bed. No heavenly bed at this Four Points. And I was very unpleasantly surprised when I couldnt control the room temperature. I like to be warm when Im sleeping, but I spent a full 30-45 minutes shivering under the covers before I was warm enough to fall asleep.Otherwise, my experience met my expectations for the SPG brand. The lobby was decorated nicely, the staff were polite, and there is a gym. In addition, the hotel is brand spanking new (opened mid-February). Ultimately, I would stay here again, but it wouldnt be my first choice.
I liked the Four Points by Sheraton New York Downtown. The location is great, the hotel is fine, and the people working there were very nice. The only thing I had an issue with was the sound of the heating, but there was a convenient off switch, so that was not a problem.
The hotel is adjacent to the ketch, which had amazing clean tasting food. The hotel was clean and had everything needed. They let me check in early (around noon). And the front desk clerk were extremely helpful. The metro is about a 3 min walk from the hotel. The hotel is near fantastic malls and shopping areas (Gucci and LV if youre fancy, and H&M if youre economical). Id definitely recommend it.
This is place is located in the financial district so if you need to be near the South Street Seaport, Wall Street, or as a tourist want to be near lower Manhattan sites, this property is good choice.Be warned the rooms are just that, a *small* room. This is a place to use as a place to sleep and change clothes. Its not a place to hang out or relax.Basic hotel with no special qualities. Strictly for budget conscientious people
Overall, I really enjoyed my stay here. The location, while a little far from the major tourist attractions, was more peaceful and I feel like I got to explore a lot more of what Manhattan is really like. Service was friendly, and rooms were clean and well decorated.

2022-04-27Absolutely perfect stay here. I’m not sure who is writing all the negative reviews? Room was clean, staff was friendly. The location is perfect and close to the Fulton subway, and one World Trade Center is just steps away. If you need a clean, affordable and comfortable spot to lay your head at night while adventuring in NYC…this is it.

2022-03-10I had a very poor experience staying here. If I could give it a 0/10, I would.Firstly, I arrived in the room upon check-in with wet towels on the sink and the carpet was stained with some white liquid — both of which I complained about to the concierge. They offered to change my room but they were only able to offer a smaller room than I currently had without offering a lower nightly rate so I refused. The dispensers in the bathroom that were labelled “Shampoo”, “Body Wash” and “Conditioner” all had the same product. I had asked the concierge if it was supposedly like that and they said no so they had called up housekeeping to fix it. As the staff came in, I was told that they were all supposed to be the same. The inconsistency is unacceptable as well as the quality of the toiletries/products provided. Most hotels would at least have a separate conditioner. On my second night, the heaters seemed to stop working so I was shivering all day. I had called to complain about it and they sent in an engineer to reset the system. The next day, it stopped working again. The shower took 5 minutes to heat up too. They had to call in the engineer almost everyday until I had grown tired of it and just slept in a cold room.Lastly, there was hair in the cups that they provided in the bathroom. This is absolutely not the kind of service I was expecting from the hotel as I have stayed in previous Marriott properties with decent to excellent experiences. The poor hygiene is just also very unacceptable.

2022-06-10The rooms are in need of renovation. The carpets and walls are visibly dirty. The bed is acceptable. The bathrooms have mold in the grout, which is black to help hide it. I was in 3 rooms because they kept trying to find one that was satisfactory. I gave up. I wont stay here again. At least until they get it together.

2022-05-05Absolutely love this hotel. The staff is so friendly and thoughtful. Carlos from the front desk went above and beyond to make sure we had an excellent stay. We came to celebrate a birthday and he brought up a hand written card and a gift bag that included a cupcake. Very clean hotel with excellent service. I will definitely be staying here again.

2022-02-12I received a room upgrade due to my elite status. The hotel does offer extra points or breakfast. I took the free breakfast. Based on breakfast quality I would not pay for it. Fitness center is descent. The rooms are about the size you would expect for the price of the hotel. Room was clean and comfortable. Hotel for the most part is well maintained. Many places to eat around the hotel. Good access to the subway. I would stay here again.

2022-06-15When I stayed at the hotel the room had hangers that were broken and the closet also couldnt stay closed. Most of the time that we were in the room there was a constant dripping noise coming from behind the closet that sounded like something was leaking but I could find no evidence of it and it was just something you would have to get used to.The toilet was constantly running, making a hissing and rattling sound but thankfully keeping the door closed caused most of that sound to be dampened.Being that this location is in the heart of the financial district, I expected the WiFi to be better, as I could not work from anywhere in the hotel due to it continuously dropping every 5 to 10 minutes. The main lights in the room were burnt out and the bathtub was very obviously mouldy. Other than the room being in a very poor state, the people at the front desk were helpful when I had an issue with the hotel charging my credit card twice for the stay. I have since got reimbursed for this incident but was honestly a stress add I didnt need. All things said, I have a hard time wanting to recommend this hotel unless you get a steal of a price if only because the location of the hotel is decent. Otherwise steer clear for now.

2022-06-21This is the smallest hotel room I’ve ever seen. Should come with a disclaimer. Something like “good enough for a bed and that’s it.”Do not stay here if you need more than a few feet of maneuverability or have a suitcase. No room for anything.Literally can’t hang up any of my clothes in the “closet” because it’s so small. I have 3 suits. What the heck are business travelers to do in this tiny room, Marriott? I’ve traveled all over the world and stayed in hundreds of hotels.Filthy coffee maker. Filthy radiator. No water pressure. Shades that let a thousand blazing suns into the room at sunrise because they don’t go to the floor like a REAL HOTEL.

2022-06-05Horrible service! Would never stay here again. The over book the hotel and don’t leave you with many options. I’ve never dealt with what I went through at this hotel. They tried to give me 2 rooms with no ac. And they tried to give me a dirty not made room. I’ve never written a bad review before, so that tells you it was not good. I will not write the whole story, but if you are between two hotels, go with the other.

2022-06-12BED BUGS!! My family stayed here (7 people including grandparents) so we had to get two rooms with two double beds each. The rooms were nice, the bathrooms were ok but the shampoo/conditioner made my hair greasy. We stayed two nights, this is where it gets interesting. We checked for bed bugs the first night since we knew it was a possibility, no signs of any. So we went to bed and the mattresses were quite comfortable. The second night we fell asleep and in the morning we found numerous blood spots in the corner of the mattress. If you don’t know bed bugs leave blood spots when slept on/crushed. Two of us kids have bed bug bites all down our backs and on our stomachs, chests, heads, and down our legs. We went to the front desk, obviously to tell them what was going on, and they responded helpfully offering showers, new clothes, and food. Then they revoked the food saying they “were just telling us options” and that “we would have to pay for the food ourselves.” Keep in mind it was 11:00am and we had been sitting there for an hour waiting for their promises to happen. After waiting for two more hours they informed us that they wouldn’t be able to get us new clothes, and they would not be providing food. They made us go through our infested belongings in the corner of the lobby, trying to convince us to allow everything to be thrown away by the hotel. We asked for the hotel to professionally clean our belongings and mail them to us, they refused and said we would need to either throw our stuff away or take care of it ourselves. Then they revoked the promise of showers. Our stuff was bagged up and they threatened to make us leave. So we didn’t get showers, no food, and we had to find a way to purchase new clean clothes. (We also have to bring our clothes to a laundry mat ourselves.)

2022-05-19Security Concerns were ignored:If I could give 0 stars I would solely based on the fact that when I told the staff, management and others that I had a security concern with my rooms door not closing on its own or with our significant force, I was completely ignored and not offered an alternative solution. They simply said pull harder to close the door. Not sure what other Marriott property would tell you that but you can bet on a Sheraton to not do the right thing. If you have a family or spouse staying with you please consider other options.FYI - this was for room 803. However I bet they don’t care enough to proactively address any other similar issues throughout the hotel.
