Why have 2 Doorman if neither opens the entrance for you upon arrival. Particularly small but well balanced rooms. After looking at the menu in the lobby restaurant we expected some exceptionally prepared and tasting food which, to our dismay, failed to come to fruition. Unfortunately this hotel is nothing like its peers and should not be repressed as Four Season. We gave it three stars because the lobby is stunning, the room service was exceptional fast and on point and everyone was extremely accommodating for our 2 night stay. Would not repeat.
This place is amazing! I love that the bar and lobby were in sync with the holidays. The concierge has always been extremely helpful, especially with information on Broadway shows. The only things I can think of mentioning against it, is that the door man was too busy several times to get the door. Also, the tv in the room kept freezing and the movie selection was very small.
Great breakfast atmosphere! Staff amazing and everything was excellent! The spa is terrific, workout room so convenient for early morning workouts. An absolute must stay while in NYC. The breakfast restaurant was so amazing food excellent! Beautiful view of park and city from the room!
Have been coming to this hotel for years. Location is excellent. And hard to beat the hospitality of Four Seasons staff. But bar is always full (hard to get a seat), breakfast restaurant is small (gets full quickly) and, unlike so many other Four Seasons, there is no coffee machine in the rooms Ive stayed at this hotel.
This is a really beautiful hotel with incredible staff. Its VERY centrally located - which is something you need to think about. I usually prefer to stay in a different neighborhood - rather than right in the middle of 57th Street. If youre looking to be right in midtown in a classic-yet-modern hotel - this place is great. The food is incredible and the ambiance is very impressive and calming.
We stopped in hear on Christmas morning for champagne. It was fantastic, I thought it was going to be a bit stuffy but we were accepted in and our waiter who served us the champagne was amazing and so friendly he took photos of us beside the awesome Christmas tree it was a Christmas morning to remember. Thank you 😍
Comfortable, very clean, and convenient accommodations. Rooms are well appointed in terms of cupboard space and bathroom amenities. Not quite luxurious but more than comfortable. Respectsble and subtle. Lovely neighborhood. Interesting boutiques, fine dining restaurants, Apple Store, Central Park...all within walking distance.
You couldnt ask for a more perfect location. We always had transport willingly available to us from the resort. The amenities in the room are pretty ok. The staff was amazingly courteous and attentive. We did get our moneys worth as far as rate goes. Would stay there again without hesitation.
This was a great experience but not worth 5 stars. I went in the early afternoon and it wasnt that crowded. The staff was very friendly and made sure everything was taken care of. The bar does not have a wheelchair accessible entrance to it. There are stairs required to get there. The only strange thing is that there is a massive TV there. See photos. For such a classy hotel and famous bar it is a little disappointing to see a massive TV. I would expect more from Four Seasons.I got 1 martini for $30.
I went to their restaurant and was very impressed with their service and quality of food. My brother and his family stayed there and when I visited I saw that they had gorgeous rooms and spectacular views. The windows were very larger allowing for gorgeous vistas of the city.
Attended an event at the property. Called in prior for valet parking at premises and was told that they had the facility for $70. Upon driving there, found out that there was no parking at the premises and the valet service consisted of an attendant coming by from a nearby garage to take the vehicle to the garage for parking! And when it came time to leave, the valet took over half an hour to get the car from the garage!! To top it all, for the entire hotel there is only 1 attendant! Seriously!? Is this what a luxury 5-star property with $1,100 a night rooms call service!!?? Terrible!Besides, the place is antiquated and in need of an overhaul. When management reads this, please send me a $70 refund for the service which you said existed and doesnt. Talk about misleading advertising.
Great hotel. The rooms are very nice, the staff is extremely accommodating, and the meeting rooms are modern and beautiful. I had some food and drinks in the lobby bar and the food was fantastic. The local brewery that was featured was a pleasant surprise as well (Captain Lawrence).
Its almost silly for me to review the Four Seasons. Its one of the citys nicest, most expensive, and exclusive hotels. However, theres always room for improvement. The bar is beautiful and certainly a nice place to grab a drink (the prices are pricey as youd expect). The service is impeccable. My one complaint with the Four Seasons is that the northern side of the building always feels a little cold and institutional to me - very old Wall Street. Theyve redone the main lobby and it no longer feels that way but, call me crazy, that northern entrance just feels so cold and Im always suprised given the profile of the property. Again, the hotel is one of the best in NYC, the staff are incredible - you wont find better service. Im mostly bothered by something nobody else, particularly those staying here, will notice.
One of the most iconic hotels in NYC, with excellent mid-Manhattan location. Amazing rooms with undoubtedly, The Best Shot I have Ever Experienced. Very comfortable rooms with great views and an Amazing bar. The service staff is Amazing and Very Professional. Easily among the top 3 NYC girls.
The Four Seasons New York Is an outstanding hotel, offering excellent service, comfort, cleanliness and remarkable courtesy from the staff. It is a beautiful place to stay, and very well located in mid-town Manhattan. I would also recommend the room service because the food is exceptional and so is the service.
Four Seasons NYC was the best stay I have had anywhere in all of my travels. This is the best hotel! I have been to New York quite a bit and this hotel is 5+ stars. The staff are absolutely wonderful. They are caring, attentive, helpful, and pleasant. The Garden Restaurant is scrumptious. The in-room dining menu is fabulous. The food is delicious. The rooms are spacious with amazing views of the city and the park. The bellmen were incredibly helpful in assisting with taxi services as well as sending us with the hotels drivers a couple times. I would recommend this hotel 100%.
We would definitely like to come back. The location of the hotel was ideal. The staff had added a quilt top to the bed as it is a preference of ours. We had a suite on 49thfloor with a incredible view on Central Park and the buildings. The staff was very friendly and most helpful. There are lots of shops just outside the hotel.
Really liked it here. They have a nice fireplace. Everything is covered in red velvet (my favorite color), but I can see it being a little.much for some. Feels like the bar in the Playboy Mansion a little bit. Drinks, service, & snacks were top notch all be it expensive.
Hotel is nice but super expensive. But worth everything penny spent. The staffs are friendly and attentive to your needs. Front desk person always nice and try to go the extra mile to help you out. Rooms are super clean and luxuries, marble bathrooms high tech showers and toilets. Overall great hotel to stay when visiting nyc.
Service was very slow and the wrong items were brought out. Drinks were over 20 for simple cocktails and very mediocre. It took the staff a very long time to stop by for initial order and checks. Someone else stormed out when we arrived and I wish we had followed suit. Not worth the time, there are many better bars within a stone throw.
I come here for the restaurant every now and then as well as the Georgetown Four Seasons when in DC. The service is excellent. Having said that, the food from my experience tends to be below the price they value it at. At the end of the day, regardless if it is a swanky restaurant or hole in the wall, you want decent value for your money, or customers simply won’t elect to go.I had breakfast in late December and the Eggs Benedict was just barely passable, which should not be used to describe the Four Seasons. Over poached, no flavor, odd choice of a side salad (no dressing and bland as well), and under cooked home fries. I was never asked how the food was, so I did not want to provide unsolicited advice. The juice was fresh and tasty, but was $15. Don’t get me wrong, I understand the Four Seasons name comes with a price tag, but let’s step the game up to justify those prices.
I stay at Four Seasons for the usual impeccable service. They try hard to keep it personalized and they succeed on most occasions. The last time I was there, there were a few minor misunderstandings, but they eventually managed to set things straight. They still remain one of my favourite places to stay while in NY!
We got a drink in the lobby bar and understood all the hype of the four seasons. The space is massive and beautiful. We had a couple glasses of champagne and some bar snacks, which was a great start to our night. Their grilled cheese was pretty impressive. As were the tacos we were served.
Best hotel in NY city period. Best staff because they are attentive but never intrusive . Stunning hotel thats incredible comfortable . Fantastic hotel to stay with children . Superior staff regarding customers . Cant compare it to any other NY Cityhotel because its that more better . Rooms are fantastic . If you want a great room stay above the 30 th. floor . The view is amazing . Th rooms are extremely tasteful and the food is healthy and extremely good. The lobby in the hotel is simply beautiful. It does not matter the hotel does not have a pool . The gym is extremely good. Breathtaking hotel .
Amazing property. Great rooms. But not for the financially faint. The prices for room service are outrageous. Expect to easily drop $150 on breakfast for 2 for room service. Also - the spa is very small and old. The hotel underwent a 120 million dollar renovation - but that renovation did not extend to the spa . In the hotel l - overall service is hit and miss - most of the doormen are useless. Front desk check-in was expeditious and friendly. Getting a car is challenging because the front of the hotel faces E 57th. So if you get an Uber - use the entrance on E 58th. Next time we will try the property Downtown or the Baccarat. For the money - I think they have quite a bit of room for improvement.
A 5 star, elegant, discreet hotel. The interior is confusing, lacks a real centre or place of welcome and is rather cold but the service is impeccable. The 57 banquet space lacks privacy and is a mishmash of Oriental and Art Deco aesthetics. The building is much more alive at night when the trees are uplit in the lobby with green key lights for effect. The meeting floors are beneath the lobby and the descending lifts disorient at first but the 4 Seasons has impeccable staff, and a hotel is defined by its staff.
As is true of most of the Four Seasons, this is one of the superior hotels in Manhattan. Although lacking a dinner restaurant, room service is well above par. And the breakfast place is just fine. Concierge services are excellent, room accommodations are almost flawless. As I said, the usual Four Seasons experience.
I absolutely loved staying here and it made my New York visit so wonderful. The experience from the front door until you leave is consistent. You are within walking distance to just about anything you could want to do. Located at a very good spot this hotel is definitely worth visiting.
The location of the hotel was very convenient to most everything. The conceriege made a great recommendation for dinner when we were desperate for a good meal that was quick and close by. Great job from all the people here. I do recommend this hotel if you are going to NYC.
Went for dinner drinks at the bar and chose location because it was convenient. Entered from North entrance and did not see a sign, although the doormen realized we were a bit lost and then helped us along. As we entered the bar area, I started to notice a musky odor that was unpleasant but not too overpowering. The décor was a bit tired, but the menu has a very good selection of whiskey and related varietals (scotch, bourbon, rye, etc). Fairly pricey place but they do get bar snacks. Waiters werent too attentive and had to get up several times to ask bartender to send one over. May go back because location is convenient for me, but wont be top of the list.
What amazing views from the Terrace Suites at this Four Seasons New York. The staff were all friendly, courteous, and discrete. The hotels lobby, bar, and lounge are beautifully designed... The suite I resided in during my stay was beautiful, with spectacular views from a large terrace. I certainly look forward to many returns to this Four Seasons Hotel, NY.
Lies, Shoddy Service at The Four Seasons in New York CityWe were 2 adults and 5 adult children on December 21, 2013 with 3 rooms reserved at the Four Seasons located at 57 East 57th St. in New York City. We were attending a family birthday party in The Village. The reservation was booked through American Express Platinum Travel Services months ago. Amex confirmed 2 pm check in, which would have allowed everyone in our party to shower and dress in advance of the 5 pm event. We arrived at 2:45 and were told our rooms would not be ready for an unspecified amount of time, but “soon”. The excuse; “because it is the holiday season”. We were given a room to wait. 7 people and 1 bathroom did not allow anyone to get ready for the party. The manager said refreshments would be sent to the room for our wait. The refreshments never arrived and at 4:30 we were told the rooms would not be ready until 5:30 or later. We scrambled to get downtown and went to the party without benefit of showers, etc.We returned that night and checked in at 11:30 pm. We called the front desk to request our reserved roll away bed. It never came. The rooms were spacious and pleasantly quiet and comfortable. Although the sheets were top shelf, the king size bed was old with a depression and my wife and I rolled towards the middle. Bathrooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. Some of our adult kids took advantage of the health club, which was well appointed and a pleasant experience. We also had brunch at noon on Sunday at the Four Seasons. I tried to call the restaurant at 10:30 with questions, but the phone went unanswered even with the operator trying to assist. I left a message with a return phone number. The call was never returned. She tried again, apologized and hung up.Recommended attire was elegant casual and we were in dresses, suits and ties. People dining around us were in sweat suits, sweat shirts, t-shirts and shredded jeans. We were crowded at a table that could comfortably accommodate 6. Ambiance was pleasant and the food was very good. Service was slow. Our overall impression; we were stunned at not being able to check in as promised and then being fed lies and excuses. Service was mediocre and certainly not something you would expect at a property with the reputation of The Four Seasons.Total spent for the overnight stay; $4,000+. Upon check out, the manager offered all apologies…no offer of a discount for shoddy service or inconveniences. After sharing our experience with other guests at the hotel, we discovered we were not alone in rooms not being ready for hours. We collectively concluded that the Four Seasons was terribly under staffed and on par with a 3 star hotel, but at 5 times the price. From experience, we can recommend The Sherry Netherland, The Mandarin Oriental or the Peninsula in NYC. For $4,000+, you will get your money’s worth at these properties.
Four seasons is our favorite destination and every thing is all inclusive. And the amenities are top tier.Room service with gourmet chefs available and cook here for the 4 seasons.Love this place.Great spa and workout room.Every season they decorate and make it holiday themed and its just a over all cozy nice place.
We came for my sister Dorit and her Husband Pks wedding and truly had the most Memorable Weekend! The Staff is so amazing and I want to thank Hodan for truly making sure Every Detail was Exceptional! Sasha who took care of our belongings was also a superstar with the smallest details from the 15 bags of luggage, to Ice in our bucket, and making sure we knew how everything works in our room. The hotels truly goes above and beyond with the truly finest details of cozy warm slippers to having absolutely extremely clean rooms. The level of service with everyone always having a smile and making sure that at every moment of our stay was like a dream or a fairy tale. You must at least once in your life have an experience to stay at the Four Seasons, you will Never forget it!
We use the spa/gym downstairs and the Garden Restaurant all the time. As we dont need a hotel in New York, dont know about the rooms. Staff we know is fabulous as one would expect at a Four Seasons Hotel. Sam Ioannidis has been manager for a couple of years. We know him from his time in Boston. Hes a great guy and runs a very client friendly shop. Lucky us.
Partially upgraded rooms !The standard ( older ones ) DOES NOT WORTH THE MONEY !The upgraded ones are really nice , but way over priced .Breakfast is alright but waaaay overpriced , cheap jams , the only nice thing at breakfast are the ricotta pancakes , very very tasty , the rest is mediocre even the Fresh juices( orange ) included are NOT FRESHLY SQUEEZED .

2019-11-19Love this hotel. Stayed here a few times 10 years ago, then went back today to visit a family member who was staying there. Its such a spacious timeless hotel. The interiors have lasted so well over the years, they havent aged at all. The service is still outstanding and the rooms as luxurious as ever. This hotel is a wonderful escape from the New York busyness. Walk inside the Four Seaons and you automatically fell calm. Its a very special hotel.

2018-03-30Unparalleled experience. Service you can trust. Our larger than usual room was super clean and cozy. Beautiful view. Bathroom had shower separate from bathtub. Walk in closet. Really good breakfast. Gluten free options. Staff was so helpful and warm, it felt like weve known them for ages. Great memories. Cant wait to come back!
