The debe lamb while limited is freshly cooked distinctively north African very flavorful good portion I ordered with rice and they have few selection of rice a must stop for long distance drivers just order ahead as it is super busy on take out but 45 min is really worth the wait One dish can easily feed 2 hungry men.
GREAT GREAT food ..the sauce that comes with atieke is on point and yummy too. The brown skinned guy who is the manager/owner (I think) is very polite and accommodating ..only reason I don’t leave a 5 star is because the two girls usually in the front are rude every single time. Another person has said this to me too. But fresh tasting food all the same!!
First time in New York from Detroit. Ask the waitress to recommend automatically a customer recommended the Debbie and I tell you it was awesome. BABYYYY! MY TASTE BUDS WAS SO HAPPY!! It stayed busy. You can tell this joint is definitely the hangout spot of good vibes
Good food. The staff are not 6ft social distance compliance. And no mask. I approached one of the staff and I asked him why is it non of the staff and the customers are not wearing mask? He Boldly told me that they do wear mask and I vividly saw all the staff and the attendant not taking any precautions on customers food and no gloves and no masks no social distance Smh

The food is great. Its one of the best African restaurant in the city of New York. Just try and you will come back again. I love everything about the cooking. They have great chiefs who are doing a wonderful job.. I went to so many different restaurant but this one is number one. Do not hesitate to make a stop. I wish all the best to the management.
Their make good food but sometimes they’re rude to their customers and refuse to charge by card or apple pay, that’s not honest (poor customer service). Try to improve your service if you want people to keep coming back.
I enjoy all types of food. Whenever I am on NY I elect for African cuisine. Googled this place. Most items on the menu were not available. I went for the fried fish and couscous. The fish was cookedwell, but lacked flavor. The couscous was flavorful but extremely dry. Customer service was horrible.. I stood at the counter for several minutes before anyone acknowledged me. He seemed displeased that I was ordering food. 🤦🏽♀️.... I had some questions about menu items. He was annoyed that I was asking. Food wants not the best, considering 90 percent of menu was not available and bad attitude. I would not recommend this place. A Plus is they are open late!
One of my fav food joints by far. Discovered in 2020 and I love the lamp with plantain that’s all I go in for. Tried the “Ach3k3” once but was disappointed so I stick to what I know. Their hours are also very considerate though they need to change closing time on google from 4:am to 2:30am
My brother always goes there to pick you my Shawarma so DELICIOUS I wish they could add more fries to the shawarma but other than that very delicious and great service very fast and kind We speak to each-other in the same dialect
I got the tilapia with couscous. This was my first time here and the staff was very helpful. The gentleman behind the counter made some suggestions and showed me what was available. The food was great! It was a huge portion. Im a fan of hot sauce and the homemade one they provided was delicious. It had the right amount of heat for me (it was on the spicy side). I will be going back for sure! They are open until 4 am 😃.
Anyone who says they have great service I highly recommend that they lost several brain cells and dont know anything about business. Theyre food is great(which is why its 2 stars), however that man in the front needs to know about customer service. Its really not rocket science. You call for your order in advance and still be waiting for 30+ minutes! To make matters worse he has the worst attitude! Hes so arrogant, doesnt even listen to your order and then gets mad at the workers for getting it wrong. Also if youre paying with a card make sure you double check how much the food is because they will charge more than what your order actually is. The restaurant has so much potential if they can organize more efficiently and teach the guy in the front about customer service or get him OUT OF THERE! Hes gonna meet the wrong person one day who doesnt give af about life and do something crazy to him. Were in the Bronx we see victims get assaulted everyday for some silly mess, so what makes you think they wouldnt do something crazy to some little man talking however he wants to customers?! Get it together PLEASE.

Grilled tilapia and fried yellow plantain and salad. We took it as a take out..The fish was well seasoned and delicious. T he fish melts on your tongue. The staff were polite. It best to call in your order and in 15 minutes and the food is done. I am going back and i am thinking to order fo r 2020 father day celebration.

Beautiful interior that blends some modern furnishings and the old structure and exposed framing with the high ceilings.The food up until now has actually been scrumptious. The pizza is outstanding. The crust is light, simply a little crunch, and a just the correct amount of chewiness.I live simply down the block so I need to make it a mindful effort to not to go every day.

The food is good and the staffs are nice. But two times I called in my order that way I would just pick it up and keep it moving, it didnt happen. The first time I was delayed and they gave it to another customer. The second time I was told I never placed in an order.
Food is good but check your order, owner is sloppy and incompetent order will be mixed up. He often a gives food with no utensils or bread. If you call him on his mistake he will fight with you. Also very expensive

Worst service I have encountered all my life. Even though they have good food, the cashier in front is very rude. He is only nice to those he speak the same language with. I was there with my kids and it was a really a bad experience.

I happened to Google local African American restaurants in the Bronx I called and they confirmed the operating hours. No delivery available. Just had eating in or pick up. Prices are fair and menu is comprehensive. Waiting time is real fast. The atmosphere is friendly and inviting.I tried the thiebu jen/potatoes leaves/dibi with sides of fried sweet plantain and rice I found it very tasty. I understand they have a selection of pressed juices and shakes to accompagn. And would definitely recommend this place to anyone avid of delicious and consistent lunch and dinner any day of the week.
Love, love , love the Thiebou jen! I pop by once or twice a month and am never disappointed. Theres also a spinach dish served with white rice that delicious! I never eat white rice so this is my exception.
The place is ok ,i think the should call it west African restaurant, not Africa restaurant because the sell only west africa dishes. As you know west africa eat only rice and over there everything go only with rice. Where is cassava ,? Foufou? Yams? Sweet potatoes?plantain ?
Very busy place for take away, if you want to seat and eat,enjoy your meals its pretty annoying people are kept opening the door every couple of seconds, meals portions are great for family style which is perfect, not fatty at all, food is awesome owner is very nice man ,soon as walked in hell acknowledge you if youre regular, over all I would recommend to friends and family.

2022-02-07It was my first time there and the food was delicious, very tasty can’t wait to go back and eat there . The lady who get the order was very slow and no salad wasn’t ready no side , I want to pay and she was eating right there and she say you need to wait because am eating and it was so funny because the client always have the right to go fast and pay but she say wait. But the food was very good. They need more organization inside the place .

2020-07-25The service here is horrible. The staff are on cell phone and seem as if they could careless if customers are waiting or not. The atmosphere is unwelcoming. Food presentation is decent and the taste is 3 star but the following day my stomach was is pure pain. I wouldnt recommend nor will I be returning.

2021-12-16The manager is great, but the two dark skin girl are the worse I have ever seen. I worked at a restaurant before and I promise I would have been fired if I was acting like that to customers. You will wait so long before they decide to take your order and when you ask them to take your order they either do not respond or give you attitude by looking at you like you are crazy. The food is great but the service is very poor. I will complain every time I go there which is crazy because I am choosing to spend my money there.

2022-04-20Horrible customer service with no pre-order service.it was 12:15 in the night got off of work and decided to get some food. I CALLED AND SPECIFICALLY ASKED DO YOU HAVE DEEBI AND the Lady said “YES” When i get there in less then 2 minutes SHE SAID WE DONT HAVE IT.I mean if you don’t have you shouldn’t be telling people that you have. I was so mad that HOW IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE AFTER ALL I CALLED BEFORE COMING.THEY ARE SUPER UNPROFESSIONAL AND ITS DISGUSTING. They Need some discipline and rules to run this business. And especially fire this lady who doesn’t even know how to talk with there customers.

2021-09-13Live this place have to visit whenever Im in the bronx. The restaraunt itself could use some serious updating but the food is so good that you wont even care. I always get their dibbi. Large portion sizes affordable prices, great taste.
