In a small town where everyone is generally nice and friendly, the owners of this farm stood out. They are very rude and told one of the customers i dont really care how much they sell the sunflowers down the road, you can drive and get it there if you want! Aside from it being very expensive $8 for a sunflower bunch and .75 per ear of corn vs. .55, the owners and cashiers are very very unprofessional. 1 star is only for the playground structure.
Two farms in one. A farmstand with all kinds of veggies and flowers and wooden attractions to keep the wee ones entertained. Then two houses down a fun farm. No entrance fee. Find and pick your own pumpkins. Face in a hole boards for all ages. A corn maze to get lost in for a bit. Definitely an enjoyable time.**** Please note this summers weather was not kind to the east end farmers in any location. The pumpkins do not do well sitting in mud for 11 of 16 summer weeks as the were trying to grow into huge good for us to use for holiday decorations and tasty food fare. But we had a great time tromping through the field at Fox Hollow and Rottkamps farms finding our trophy pumpkins nonetheless.
Had a lovely time at this sweet little sunflower maze. It was a birthday celebration and some friends met me out here to see it. We did not have any children with us but this is a nice experience for children. We took our time walking through, got some beautiful photos and then moved on to do some wineries for my birthday celebration. I loved it!!
Tired of dealing with all the traffic on Sound Avenue all the way to Harbes? 😮 Me too! Tired of spending a ton for admission to huge crowds? 😮 Me too! If you are headed down Sound Avenue and see Rottkamps Fox Hollow Farmstand, go a few hundred feet more to the sunflower maze! A great field, simple but fun maze with oversized Adirondack chairs, chairs and beautiful sunflowers. $6 a person, well laid out and not super crowded!
I love Rottkamps! A true family farm. Always a good collection of local and traded produce! Never disappoints. I can’t understand why someone would give this place a one star. Over a couple bucks? This is a family owned farm, and they break their backs to bring produce to the Long Island family table!Tip: Rottkamps offers some of the best and intimate U-PICK fields. Just a little bit further of a drive but you avoid the hoards of people. Look out for the sunflower field this year! Last year the owner was kind enough to allow people into it for free because it didn’t meet his expectations! Can’t say that for another location which charged to walk through a dead field of sunflowers! Will be well worth the price of admission. The Watermelon (especially the yellow ones) and Corn (The Best corn!) are not to be missed! All the produce there whether from the farm or brought in, is a far step above the grocery store. And no, I don’t work for this farm. It reminds me of what “out-East” was before the commercialization started!
Walked in to the farm stand today to ask a simple question about their sunflower farm. I was the only person in there with three woman standing and talking behind the counter. I waited for one woman to stop talking so i could ask my question. Asked her and she looked right at me and completely ignored me and continued talking to her coworker. After i looked at the other woman, she nodded at me to wait for one of the other ones to stop talking to answer it for me. Extremely rude. Will not be back ever again.
Oh I love that it is a truly family run business. With all heart and sole. This family is the bread and butter to bring fresh produce to life line of so many communitys. So well at what they do. Many blessings to them for such hard work and dedication to out community.

2021-07-31Please note that if you’re trying to visit the sunflower maze, it opens at 10am, not 9am like it states online! (I suppose the maze is separate? It’s about 1,000 feet away from the farm). The owners are having trouble changing the opening time 🙈The people are super nice, though, and the sunflowers were spectacular!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will definitely be coming back in the future!

2021-08-03Open at 10 am! Not 9 am. We came at 9 am and it wasnt opened yet. The owners son was really accommodating. We just wished we were able to enjoy the front maze because it was much more dense with sunflowers and would make for beautiful pictures. We still got a nice relaxing walk in the maze and got some memories.

2021-07-20We come here once a year for the sunflower maze. We enjoy the play vehicles that the kids play on. Though they took the fake cows away that kids could get on. The food trucks are a delight and a nice treat. At the sun flower maze there are a few big chairs set up for pictures. Which is good seeing I like to torture my kids by posing them for photos. They have some other photo props along the way. They have a big platform you can walk up to view the whole maze.

2021-06-14We went here to pick some strawberries. The prices are good and the field is full of strawberries, even on weekend. I was in another farm a year ago and the field was full of people and I could barely find any berries left. So this place is definitely better. The only concern is the taste. Dont get me wrong, strawberries were sweet, but kind of flavorless. I expected them to be more fragrant, but I guess its just the type of variety.
