This company takes advantage of its commuter customers because they know there’s no competition in the NEPA area. We pay $600 a month, so our driver can pull over behind a gas station and announce that he’s run out of hours, so he can’t take us all the way. We sat there for a whole hour waiting for a relief driver. Why did he even leave the Port Authority if he knew he couldn’t make the trip. Give us the choice to take another bus so we can get home at a decent hour. I guess common sense is not common.
Clean buses and polite drivers, but management decided to install extra row of seats and as a result veery limited leg room. The most of the bus companies configured thier buses to transport 54-56 passengers, Martz set the buses to take 60 passengers, and it makes a huge difference.
Took a bus from NYC to DC and did not do my reasearch - but should have. I agree with the person before who said only take this company if other options are depleted. Our bus was late and we reached DC 2h late, the seats are old and uncomfortable with little legroom, the AC is not working and on top of that the bus driver was a poor driver with a very uneven rife Be wiser and choose an alternative option.
My boyfriend and I recently took a trip to Kalahari in the Poconos. The best way for us to get there was using this bus company. After reading the reviews we were extremely worried about how our experience would be. As the date got closer for our trip we honestly got more worried. Im happy to say our experience went very smoothly. When we got to PABT we were directed to the right terminal and boarded our bus on time. The bus was clean. There were a decent amount of people on the bus but everyone got a seat. According to our itinerary we were supposed to transfer to a different bus at Mt Pocono that would take us to the resort but the driver took us straight there. Our driver was SO kind. Once we got to Mt Pocono my boyfriend and I were the only ones left on the bus lol. The driver spoke to us by name. He dropped us off right in from of the hotel doors.Our return trip was good as well. Our driver was about 10 mins late but it wasnt a big deal. We waited for him in the front of the resort and waited for him. The driver was cool. He saw us when he pulled up and helped us board the bus. Once again we were the only ones who got on lol. The only thing I will say is that the driver was rushing. Right before we left one of the guys we spoke with from the valet ran up to the bus and told the driver there was a couple waiting for him (not realizing we already got on the bus) and the driver kind of rudely told him he was late and wouldnt wait for them. The driver sped down the highway. We got to PABU about 15 mins early. Again we didnt have to transfer which was awesome.Overall, we were so relieved that our experience went good with no problems. My only suggestion would be to make more bus times available. The bus that went from Kalahari to PABT left at 11:40 and that was the only available time and it was perfect. But the only available time from PABT to Kalahari was 8am and it was alittle too early. However considering we were the only ones on the bus I can see why they do not offer more time slots.
Just watched a bus driver berate a young girl and bring her to tears for not knowing the baggage rules (she had two suitcases). The girl was forced to buy another ticket while the employee made rude comments and snide remarks. So unprofessional, callus and unhelpful. I understand that there are rules but that was disgraceful to watch. I will never patron this company after seeing that display.
Buying a ticket does not guarantee a seat. So there can be an increase number of riders (particularly Fridays during the summer from NYC to the poconos) and rather than getting more buses or selling out, they make people wait until the next bus. This causes almost every bus during peak travel time and holidays to be delayed. It annoys weekend travelers and especially daily commuters- but youve already bought your ticket and they already have your money. So, no one cares. Staff are knowledgeable of this issue, but unhelpful. If you have another travel option, take it. Its an unreliable, unfair and expensive bus service.
Lets be honest, you take Martz because it is the only option. Port Authority, while improving is still rough, and the Martz terninal us particularly bad. The worst part is terrible customer service. If you can find any employee down here it is almost guaranteed they will be rude. It is always confusing which gate to line up at, and no one ever shares information. They are really the worst and only survive because they are the only bus service in the area they go.
The worst service ever booked my tickets round trip $139 bus starts loading after 10min bus it full then Im told I have to wait 2 hours to get a next bus I called Martz they put me to a voicemail service then hang up I called their 800 # they hang up with out answering 4 times disrespectful and terrible by the time I get to the water park it will be dark these people are the worst I could have taken a cheaper bus and not go through this nonsense at least 12 very upset customers and no response they already got paid terrible service no respect for people or the money your spending they should be out of business
Not according to my daughter uses a wheelchair, she arrived on time, they did not ride her, they told me a story when I bought the ticket, I told her that my daughters wheelchair, the employees are crazy, now Im going to have to take a taxi in Copono to reach my destination

2020-01-04AVOID THEM IF YOU CAN!I took a train from Stroudsburg, PA to the Port Authority on December 28th and the ride was extremely unpleasant. The bus came late, which I was okay with considering it was the week of Christmas still. What I wasnt okay with was that the bus was overbooked and we had to STAND, which is incredibly dangerous on a two hour drive occurring almost exclusively on the highway. The driver said we could sit, but that was also very uncomfortable and for what I paid for the ticket I honestly expect better treatment. A couple of the standing passengers were middle aged or elderly people, and the fact that we all paid $41 to be treated in this manner is atrocious and a poor reflection of this company. Something needs to be done, whether it means new management, more buses, or cheaper fares. I have photos as proof, but Google wont upload them with this post for some reason.

2022-03-05I had a safe journey,however whatever time your trip starts, get there at least a 1/2 hour early, you may miss your ride. They started boarding early...

2022-08-02Update: the following day, I was able to get hold of their representative who gave me the refund. They updated their website.They changed to digital tickets in the past few months. Their bus is cleaner but pricier compared to the alternate service available btw Scranton and nyc.Original review in 2021: They are selling tickets for a 12:30 AM bus from NYC to Scranton still on their Website that they are not even running anymore. I traveled an hour to get to the station in the middle of the night and there was no bus there. No customer service representative to give information. The ticket doesnt even have bus gate number on it. So its even hard to find your gate at NYC Port Authority Bus Terminal.

2022-01-11They have been cutting corners in service since they introduced online ticket purchases. The waiting rooms need to be open for longer hours. The weather in Pa. isnt good for standing outside. Even worse is the waiting area at Port Authority in NYC. Barely any seats and very filthy.

2020-09-10When I got on board I saw the first row was blocked off for “social distancing” guidelines and was very appreciative they took these measures until I realized that was only to keep passengers away from the bus driver. The company blocked off 4 seats total in the front then shoved the rest of us on the bus without a care for social distancing guidelines. Seats should be assigned and if that means adding more busses to the route to accommodate your passengers then so be it. Protect your passengers.
