Staff was super friendly and made the trip worth it! Wines were delicious, tastings were economical! Try the seanpenoise! There was even Shakespeare in the park on the grounds when we visited! Also look at their events calendar for tastings paired with things like yoga and candle making!
Incredible! We absolutely loved it here!Gorgeous views, friendly faces and delicious wine and food offerings. We parked our class C on a level gravel drive overlooking grape vines. It was hot and humid and we thought we would have to run the generator for air while we were there but by 8pm it cooled here enough to enjoy a wonderful breeze and turn off the generator and air. We enjoyed a cheese board and wine under the shade of tree set up outside the winery. We bought a bottle of their Cabernet and We each ordered a beer battered fish fry(Local specialty) off an incredible menu that also offered beef, chicken and pasta. They only offer food Friday nights and Sunday (brunch) but the food is delicious. Thank you so much Freedom Run for being a part of Harvest Host! We will definitely be back!
I have to give the utmost respect to Freedom Run Winery and their staff today. It’s disheartening to see how hard the staff had to fight to keep people Covid compliant and safe. It was refreshing to see Freedom Run Winery stand their ground when a group did not comply with requests to wear face masks when not seated. Please remember that establishments have no choice but to follow the rules mandated by NYS to the tee. Their business depend on it. Great job Freedom Run!!
Freedom Run is an unexpected surprise in Western NY. The produce an abundance of delicious wines and are especially awarded for their Pinos. The wine, the staff, the land, and the setting make this winery a treat any time of year, but especially in the summer and fall.
We stopped by Freedom Run to enjoy both the weather and for an escape from being cooped up in the house! They have set up tables right outside the vineyard and the view was amazing.Wine was great, but our visit was made by talking with a gentleman named Mark. Extremely professional and knowledgeable.Everyone was great and everything was perfectly set up for COVID precautions and proper social distancing.Excited to come back for the tasting room, but most of all to hopefully chat with Mark again.Nicely done Freedom Run!
I brought a Limousine Bus here. Beautiful place! Wine I’m told is geared more toward “sweet”. Food was served outdoors and the ladies enjoyed themselves. Freedom Run, thank you for making our bride to be and her best girlfriends feel welcome. Perfect day out with the girls! ❤️
Some really high quality wine! They seemed to specialize in deep bold reds but did have wine for a variety of people. The server knew a lot about wine and was a good sales woman. I bought the black currant bottle of wine for my sister as a birthday present, it was very unique. Beautiful glass decor inside. Would reccomend!
They are not very accommodating. at 1st told me that we could do a wine tasting for 23 people as a private event just need to purchase food items such sandwiches. then when we went to confirm we were told the room for the private event of 45 minutes would cost us $300 on top of the tasting and food. this was never mentioned prior. freedom run will never be on our yearly wine tour
First trip to the Niagara Wine Trail and first winery we visited. Very nicely appointed and spacious tasting room and Larry was very informative, accommodating and fun, catering to our individual likes in wine. I think we tasted every wine on the tasting list and perhaps some that werent? Their wines are very good and we left with more than a few bottles. After visiting a few of the other wineries in the area, we actually returned to Freedom Run to share a bottle of their 13 Chardonnay - very nice wine! Would highly recommend a stop at this winery. We will definitely visit again.
Great place, good wine and a beautiful setting. Weve been there before but wanted to get away a little, (Covid-19) so we went back today. We wanted to enoy some wine on the back patio but that wasnt allowed due to state regulations. Oh well, the manger couldnt have been nicer, he suggested an excellent white wine and good ways that we could enjoy it. I cant wait to get back there when this is all over with!
Great atmosphere and the owner is a really nice guy. The wine is really good. Conspiracy theory both red and white are really good. They have a great selection for those who love sweet wine. Friendly and down to earth. Informative and professional...freedom run winery will have you running back for more!
Absolutely horrible experience, rented this venue for 150 people they treated us like absolute children, wouldn’t let us inside and barely even staffed the even. Spent almost 10k and revived the service of a dive bar. Would not recommend to anyone. Security guard was extremely rude, bar tender was awesome tho. Unfortunately this place is a miss for their poor customer service.
“Take it or leave it.” Quite possibly the rudest manager Ive ever met. She was not going to honor what the other bar tender said...for $200 of wine. We almost left it...as she advised. To the owner, she should be demoted. The other person who checked us out said that wouldve been your decision...customer service had not met these folks. Yeesh. That being said, good wine, poor service.
Recently attended this winery beginners Yoga/Wine tasting event and can say this place is not setup for this type of event. The room where the yoga took place was uninvitingly cold, dark, and on a cement floor. It was like a cold dreary basement. No one from the winery welcomed the group nor did they invite us for tasting. Additionally, most selections were either not tasty or nothing special. Perhaps they’ll see this review and do a better job.
I’m from Virginia and we have great wineries in our region. While visiting New York we decided to stop at Freedom Run Winery. Visiting Freedom Run was one of the best stops we made during our vacation. The wine was excellent. The Pinot Noir was one the best I’ve ever had in my entire life. I met the owner Larry while he was serving us our wine. This is the first time I’ve been to a Winery that the owner was actually pouring the wine. He’s very passionate about his skill and does an excellent job. The view and the buildings surrounding the grounds are extremely relaxing and beautiful.
Went yesterday with my in laws whome were visiting from NYC. Had set up a few winerys to go to, and this was our first stop. Wine selection for tastings were small. Not alot to choose and were all on the stronger side. However they seemed knowledgeable about their drinks. Then it came time to order....thats where it went wrong. Service was really slow, and it seemed like staff were overwhelmed with how quickly it picked up. It took forever to get the food and watched tables that came after us get their food first. We never received water, we had to ask. Then when we finally ordered the food was terrible. Not only did we only order one thing of waffles and chicken but it tasted gross. The chicken was so bland and flavorless. The waffle was good but they served it with chipotle syrup. It was gross. Just tasted like they mixed the powder with syrup. They didnt have regular syrup either. Then to make matters worst, the whole meal was soggy because of the juices from the fruit that was loosely placed on the plate. Seriously? You couldnt at least drain it or put it in a bowl to prevent cross contamination? I forced myself to eat some of it and just left it there. Spent 13 on the worst chicken and waffles I ever had. I left to go wait in the car, my father in law was paying. Good thing I did because I didnt want to take my anger out on a server when I know it has to be the chefs fault or the creater of the menu. Needless to say Im never coming back here again.
Owners and tasting room employees are friendly, honest, and knowledgable about wines. Venue is dog friendly. They have a nice back yard that I great for dogs. I have no experience with the place as far as for weddings or events. We like to come during the slow times during the week because it can get busy during the weekend.
Amazing service! Very glad we checked this place out. The man that helped us (didnt catch his name unfortunately) went through their wine list with my girlfriend and I and gave us the most genuine and personal attention Ive ever experienced at a winery. He was insightful and really made it a great time! Prices were very reasonable; the wine was fantastic! We tried both whites and reds; Nana Jean and Catawba were our favorites! Check this place out-- I know well be back!
A true diamond on the Niagara Trail. We were married at Freedom Run Winery this past weekend and it was truly an amazing experience. We held ceremony in their historic barn, a cocktail hour in their tasting room and a reception under a tent on the lawn. The staff went above and beyond all of our expectations with extreme attention to detail from working with us to create an entire custom drink menu for our cocktail hour and setting up hay bale couches overlooking the winery for an end of the night bonfire. Evan, Anita and the Manning family were so attentive during the preparation process and calming the day of. We also stayed in the Stone Manor house the whole weekend and the place was immaculately clean and decorated. I would highly recommend hosting any event at Freedom Run Winery!
I went to this place among other wineries because of favorable reviews. I do NOT agree with them. The woman at the bar wanted to sell some wine to us and at the same time, she wanted us to leave that place as soon as possible.I bought 2 ice wines and 1 regular one but the ice wine is unpleasantly sweet, like too much sugar rather than from grapes.Terrible service, not good wine. Not recommend.
Sensational !! The wines were fantastic the prices were reasonable and the owner and personnel were 5 out of 5. And just to say I wish there was a way to rate in between stars because I would have gone to 4 and 3 fourths. Just to be honest no one could expect to truly like every wine offered at any winery.
An absolutely amazing experience everyone was so enjoyable and I felt at home. For some reason I just felt like I have known them my whole life after a glass or two. I guess it is just because you feel free and at peace when you walk into the amazing winery. A must stop for anyone.
I dont like to post negative things but I would like to warn people is all.The people were very difficult to deal with, they came off very snobby and in different to you being their. I was married there on a beautiful day about two weeks ago, but had several difficulties defining what we were paying for and the coordinator was very difficult to get ahold of.When we visited prior to the wedding the people who were giving out tastings were indifferent to you being their, they seemed to be much more concerned with stocking bottles and glasses.I choose the winery for the venue and loved the venue - the people working at the venue were difficult to deal with though. If you are okay with dealing with difficult people, the venue is very nice. If not - keep looking (and I suggest looking at a place that supplies food and chairs/tables).
Freedom Run was the highlight of our day on the Niagara Wine Trail! The owner, Larry, ran our tasting along with another couples, he went back and forth - never missed a beat with either conversation. Larry was happy to share his knowledge of his wines as well as the crops and area. Very informative, yet fun as Larry was quite the joker as he goes through your tasting! That said, this winery has a wide variety of offerings. The Blood Moon Chard. Was fantastic as were all their Pinot Noirs ... well definitely be back for more!!!! 👍👍

2021-08-07Lovely stop along the wine trail. Educated staff able to talk in depth about the process if needed. Great selections of wine grown on site as well as from other sources. Do stop in for a glass or two today.

2020-10-25This was a really nice winery. To start, my visit is during COVID19 , so things are different. Tastings are served in plastic cups, as they have been at every winery I have gone to over the past few months. Wine was good. Ambiance was really nice! Server was nice, too! They offered more than the usual chips for the usual must purchase food with tastings. I purchased a cupcake, which was delicious. It was spacious inside with lots of room for seating.

2022-06-16A group of us went for a wine tasting Fall of 2020.We all purchased Cabernets and a few bottles of Apple Jack. Basically everything we bought was garbage. The Apple jack was not aged properly Along with the other wines we had purchased. I returned the Apple Jack the manager agreed that it was bad by looking at the color. My response was why didn’t he notice it when he sold it to me personally. The Cabernet Franc at $30 per bottle was also a huge disappointment. We just opened the bottle this week and let me tell u I would compare it to drinking battery acid.Bitter highly acidic, very disappointing. In closing it’s a beautiful piece of property unfortunately they don’t know a thing about producing wine.

2020-08-30Very nice winery on the Niagara County Wine Trail. Nice selection of reds and whites. A couple fantastic Apple Bourbon desert wines, aged in name brand bourbon barrels. Very unique. Clean and always worthy of a stop. Highly recommend a tour if available (we took one). They do events like yoga, dinners etc. Great spot!

2019-05-20Knowledgable staff and a good selection of wines, but they kept trying to push food on my party. The food they pushed was what I would assume was frozen pizza. The outdoor space was okay, but it looked as if someone started to do some landscaping and stopped.

2021-09-04This was our first time here, very welcoming staff. They have wine and paint, they also do flights and have outdoor seating. The wine is delicious and beautiful winery. They also had fish fry Friday and the food was awesome. I definitely would recommend.

2022-05-15They helped put a flight together for my husband and myself just based on some other things we typically like. Everyone was super nice and helpful and the space is huge inside and out.

2018-08-23Lovely location. The wines were very good. Also check out Aras Table at the Vineyard, who serve food there Thursday through Sunday. Both highly recommended.
