Second time I’ve been there honest work fair pricing best mechanic shop in the area .
Freemans takes are of all the tire swaps on my racecars. Great prices, value and work. Usually done with a fast turn around. 10/10 would recommend. For any car enthusiasts, you can trust these guys with fancy wheels. Work done with respect
The people of Orange County been getting ripped off for some time now Ask them to do a brake flush they turkey based your brake cylinder Not removing all the fluids it is fraud And then charge you as if they did a brake flush
Freemans is the name-brand mechanic in town. Their rates may be a little higher, but they are honest, very competent, and do everything on the up-and-up. I trust these guys.

I came here based on the reviews I saw and since then I have used Freemans 3 times for service to my car. Overall I am pleased. Customer service is paramount for me and I have not been disappointed. Chris is awesome. He is very patient and explains everything thoroughly. I would definitely recommend Freemans!

Great service during snowstorm helping to put new battery in my car. Found my alternator was dead and worked to get the part and make repair in timely fashion. Everyone I spoke to were very nice and accommodating. This was my first time using this location, but will definitely use again in the future. Thank you!
Engine light came on again after repair and before leaving site. Tech reset the light and I went home. Went to drive the car and the light is on again, with a code that relates to emission sensor. Will return when I return from out of state. Work done didnt fix the issue and the back seats were not set down, but left up in the air.Very unusual as the service is usually good.
They are very accommodating., friendly and professional. They are also quite busy because they are proficient at what they do. Have to call ahead for appt, but they will sometimes take me as a walkin. Its not because theyre not busy, but because they are nice guys. I highly recommend Freemans. They get 5 stars
I chose Freeman’s tire and Auto because they have been in business a long time and have a good local reputation. The online reviews also are excellent. So here is my excellent review:I called and my call was quickly answered. I explained my problem with my 2002 Honda Odyssey which was a belt squeak and transmission light blinking. They made an appointment the next day and checked it while I waited. They came back to me with a written estimate for the repair which was a faulty sensor. The price of the part and installation was not cheap but fair. I did not repair that day but made an appointment for the following week. They offered to drive me home and to pick me up when the car was ready that same day. Everything was as they said they would do and I got my van back the same day. Everyone was courteous and competent. What more could you ask? Great repair shop that I highly recommend!
Made appointment,was getting tires and wheel alignment. Told would take 1hr 30 minutes showed up 15 minutes early, minutes late my car was on the lift. Car was done way before the time I was told. I would definitely recommend to my family and friends.The place was clean and enjoyable to sit and wait. Which wasn’t long at all. Seems they know how to get the customer in and out, with high-quality and professional work. Most definitely will be using Freeman’s again. Next time I need oil change & tire rotation, which rotation is free with purchase of 4 tires , it seems, I’m glad I called them..
Went for brakes, very happy with my experience. I was happy to hear that the crew from Lake Region ended up here. Im glad to have quickly found my new go-to shop, its hard to find a good place and this one is good. Very friendly, looked at my car well before they said they could get to it and had it finished with plenty of time to pick it up.
Used them first as Lakes Region with Bruce and moved with them to Freeman’s. Chris is great as are other staff. Punctual, polite, informative- don’t feel talked down to or ripped off as a woman.With them at least 15 years now - all the way from Manhattan.
I only trust Freeman’s shop with my cars.The owner is extremely knowledgeable about all Cars.Every time I have an issue John the owner always has an answer and solution to the problem. I am from out of state and here to perform a job. I had some mechanical issues develop during the trip and pretty much limped my truck into town. So, I did a little Google search and read various reviews of local repair shops in the area. From the reviews, I chose these guys. And boy, they did not disappoint! They had me fixed up the same day at a very reasonable price, whereas, a dealership wouldve been double. Super nice, fast and economical! Thanks guys!

I was taken back by how busy this shop was. They have 8 stall and everyone was full with active mechanic in each. I was surprised despite how busy they were, how efficiently they were able to get me in and out. They had a clean waiting room and chairs outside to help with the social distancing. The sheer volume of business they were conducting is no doubt a testament of the work and customer service that was evident. Im glad I found such a great shop in my new neighborhood.

Nice place, but an oil change took a really long time despite having an appointment. Additionally, I mentioned when I walked in that I thought I was having an issue with my front end. The gentleman that checked me in said theyd do a check, but he thought it might be a balance issue. I mentioned that it was unlikely, since Id just gotten new tires and I was pretty sure it was a front end issue. At the end of my visit I had a charge for balancing my tires even though no one ever asked me if I wanted them to do that and after checking the tie rods on my driver side tire it was very clearly in need of replacement. Its clear they didnt check my front end and just assumed they were right on the balance issue. Not exactly my idea of good service.
Good honest people at freemans. They service and repair all my cars. Tires, breaks, exhaust work you name it they do it. They get it fixed the first time. I trust Pat and his crew. They have always done right by me.

Going to Freemans is always a positive experience. More than that it is fast and easy, they will not waste your time. Every single person who works there is kind and knowledgeable and will never try to force a repair or service on you that you dont need. To add to that the prices are reasonable and they will check something multiple times, and not charge you, if you feel something is still wrong. They are the only place I will take my car because I can trust them.

Update: Wow!!!! Wish I could give them10 stars. First, I was using another mechanic in Washingtonville. They were ok. I had a problem with a strong fuel smell and Brookside auto was not equipped for it. Freemans auto determined that it was the fuel tank. I have a 99 Tahoe and they couldnt find a fuel tank. I got one in the junk yard that my wife found after making 20 calls.Fast professional service!!!

All around great! Found my new mechanic. Told them what the problem was and they told me which parts I needed to replace and which parts were not a necessity. All the other places in the area were trying to get me to buy extra parts, thats not okay in my book. They also quoted me at the lowest amount for the work. When I told them I needed the work done quick, they were very accommodating and had the car ready when they said it would. Very easy transaction, little wait time. Excellent repair shop. Couldnt recommend it more.
Place is decent, small waiting room so plan on dropping off but no complaints with work or people there. Only went there a handful of times.
Another great experience with Freemans. I had a 1:00 appointment to get two new tires and a new battery for my car. As always, Pat and Duke were as courteous as ever. Took the car in right away and I was out of there in one hour. Not only great service but a very good price. Beat the competition by a mile. Keep up the great work.

Friendly atmosphere and polite employees. Fair prices are stated before work is performed. Service options are presented clearly. Didnt make me feel crazy when checking an intermittent problem that we couldnt recreate at the garage. Unlike some other garages, theres no pushiness at Freemans to have expensive work done when it might not be necessary. Its a relief to have a garage whose work and advice I can trust. Ive given them repeat business and recommended them to others.
Very polite and professional over the phone. They fit my fiance and myself right in for two inspection. They finished sooner than estimated and worked at an fair price.Despite the wintery mess, the reception and waiting area was very clean and tidy. I also recall noticing the neatness of the garage itself. Everyone coming and going with keys for customers and moving vehicles were very professional.This is the first time having my cars worked on in Monroe and Freemans will have my continued business from now on.
Great service! i had a vibration problem with my car and went to a couple mechanics but they didnt know the expect reason by Freemans they right away figured out the issue and fixed it, now my car is driving smooth.Also theyre not trying to push you to fix things that are not going to or might fix the issue.

I broke down on 17 recently and called aaa they sent out Freemans who arrived a lot sooner than I thought compared to other companies that had been sent out to me before. the driver Walter was very professional respectful and made sure I got into the tow truck safely he brought me to my mechanic. They were courteous, I had to find a mechanic once I moved to Monroe, read great reviews and my experience was great, even though they couldnt find the issue because of course it didnt happen when they had the car and it didnt throw any codes.but they were kind enough to give me a ride to my home so they could have the car for the day and when it was ready, they called and had someone come back and pick me up, for that I was grateful, since I only have 1 car.I will definitely be calling on them again

Freemans is the best!! They are an honest facility (whens the last time youve been to one of those?) and the pricing is fair. They always catch things that need correcting (I let my inspection expire) and never suggest any unnecessary work. My car runs great and my husband and I have total faith in them. We never take our vehicles any where else or ever would!
Recently my Santa Fe had an issue with stalling due to a bad sensor. This part had been installed in my car recently. Freemans contacted the manufacturer of the part. They replaced it at no charge, and the car performs perfectly now. I cant say enough good things about Freemans. They always stand behind their work. Repairs and maintenance are always done in a timely and professional manner. Also at a reasonable cost. I am happy to be one of their customers, and recommend them highly.

There have been many times through the years that I have been told one thing from the dealership and/or other auto service shop and then head to Freemans for the TRUTH. They have saved me many times from spending needless money for repairs that quite frankly did not need to be done. I will go nowhere else for my vehicle needs.

Very nice staff state of the art facility with clean comfortable seating lounge and rest room I went there for required new York state inspection which I past but remember make sure before going there to make a appointment by telephone or by telephone open from 7:30 in the morning closed Sunday

I started going here because of the reviews, and that it’s a family owned business. I was told of a repair recently that would cost in the $300’s. I was aggravated by this and when I got home took pictures and checked it myself. I thought here we go again, slap some axle grease on it and tell them it’s going to cost you money for a BS repair. So I brought my car back in and spoke with the owner. Who said to me that he stands behind his mechanics 100% and if I wanted I could wait and they would put it on a lift and show me the issue. I liked that he said that, but was certain I was right. Thought about driving away, but waited for the mechanics to get back. Well let me say they were 100% right. I was 110% wrong. I apologized and shoke each one of their hands. And each one of these men looked me in the eye and gave me a firm handshake. Who does that anymore? THEY DO! So I hope I can save you some time in looking for a great mechanic, that won’t screw you over. Finally feels good to be wrong for once. I told them it’s very hard to find a good mechanic anymore. They have gained my family’s trust. A mechanic shop of this caliber will never lack for work. And I imagine they will soon need an even bigger shop.

Service was good enough, but not worth the price. Parts were marked up more than 100% over retail, the hours seemed padded for the work performed, and the hourly rate was above market for this area. Why? Good service is available in other places that do not treat your car troubles as their payday.

It was always good, on time, fair price. This morning they forgot resetting my panel , that’s not big deal, but after I mentioned that, the guy serviced to me with no polite,that’s not professional!
They did the job for us but...we got there at 1045 and were told it was lunch time and would have to wait. At 1230 we asked if they were able to access the problem and we were told that it was lunch time til 1pm so they arent back yet. So lunch is from 1045 to 1. Seems like that is not the truth. And then we waited some more...However, they did repair, as we asked (not replace as that would have been a lot longer and a lot more money) the break line for us, eventually. After $175 bill, we left around 330.As we were on the road, we were stranded and at their mercy for almost 5 hours for what took them about 30 minutes to complete. I realize we were walk-ins and they had jobs before us but they could have said we wont be able to get it on a lift until 3pm. Wed have looked elsewhere.
As always Freemans serviced my car promptly and professionally at a reasonable price. They keep my 14 year old Honda Accord running like new.
Professionalism, courtesy, fairness, honesty... Ive come to expect all of these from Freemans. There was a time when I dreaded going to a mechanic for fear of what they may find is wrong with my car. That is no longer the case. I confidently drop off any of my cars knowing full well that what gets done, whether maintenance or repair, is exactly what needs to be done.

Came to have work done on my vehicle and instead of fixing the struts, someone from Pat’s shop the created further damage to my car. Dented back end had to go somewhere else to have everything repaired and have the body work fixed. He even stole the change from my cup holder. Completely unprofessional and was rude when I pointed out the dent on my bumper. Even after showing Pat pictures of my car the same day in his parking lot to support my claims. Needless to say, I was pretty dissatisfied with this business. STAY AWAY!!

I took my car into Freemans to replace the Valve Cover Gasket because they said it was leaking.After the work was done it continued to leak. I brought it to their attention and said it still leaks oil and thought it came from the oil pan. They agreed and deducted the price of the valve cover gasket that they replaced $178.58. They applied the credited toward the Oilpan Gasket. I WOULD RECOMMEND FREEMANS FOR THEIR GREAT SERVICE. Freemans gets 10 STARS.Very Reputable Auto Repair Service.Ladys they are very trustworthy.
A basic oil change gone bad had my car died on highway in the middle of the night. My God sent savior JJ was right on my tail and saved the day. Very good service, quick and smooth
Several years ago a truck I owned at the time had a mechanical failure and had to be towed. Freemans towed and repaired the truck but made the repairs far, far more extensive and expensive than needed. Basically, I was overcharged by about $1000. I will never again have anything to do with this business.
These guys were awesome. They helped us out when no one else on that strip would. They were very nice and efficient. They got things done and went above and beyond to ensure all out needs were met

Most professional service in Monroe and orange county in my opinion they do not try to gauge you for parts and service and stand behind all their work very skilled as much as any dealership but more fair with prices you might pay 10dollars more than mides or mavies but you get what you pay for and they are very fair with prices but more than that they are honest and trustworthy and that is priceless

( sorry for the wide-open spaces between paragraphs . . but its that or a giant wall-of-words with loads of or some such ! )You guys know that horrible sinking, sunken feeling . . when you have an urgent emergency, automotive or even dental, just as a long holiday weekend has begun ?Friday evening I was heading to Suffern as Reliable Rides, our overnight cab in that area for the past 14 years, when pressing the gas-pedal suddenly resulted in LESS forward thrust !Not a good thing, not even on Rt. 17 below Chester with a guy doin well over 70 right up yer butt !After getting to the shoulder, the next 2 hours saw rescue / tow-truck / and ok, lets leave it at this Freeman guy and hope hes alright, and if were lucky ? . . . we dont lose this whole Labor Day Weekend !I spent the night like pseudo-Uber, doing the calls I could in my personal car . . but it werent the same ! . . and yes . . to me Uber is a four-letter word, man !When I called at 7:30 am, Pat was already there . . bright n chipper . . to begin his Saturday 1/2-day. I liked him immediately as I got a sense of the genuine.Reliable Rides has also gotten almost nothing but 5 star reviews, and after discussing the cab, we compared notes on how personable honesty is generally best for the karma and the public relations.I gave him my Reliable partners number, cuz I was well past ready-for-bed, and after a few more wise chuckles, wished him well getting to our car during his shortened workday.I just awoke before to hear that it was not anything like a dreaded $400 fuel-pump . . just a pressure-valve sorta thingy, and the whole bill: tow and labor included, was only $250 !!And the cab was already back home, waitin on me ! ( yay )Individual results may vary, depending what your vehicles needs may be, but everything about the experience was just what youd hope it would be --- only better !

2022-04-22Hands-down the best mechanics in the area. I can always trust that work will be completed as specified - Bruce, in particular, is excellent at communicating issues, explaining process, & setting appropriate expectations as far as cost of work. Despite the demand for their services, work is completed in a timely manner; appointment and drop-off scheduling are typically quite convenient.I will say that they arent the cheapest shop in town - but, I regard that as a good thing: you get what you pay for - and Freemans appears to pay their staff well enough that they have no problem attracting and retaining a highly qualified staff (Id rather pay a reasonable amount once, than pay for a cheap repair twice).As someone who has a habit of owning somewhat uncommon vehicles, I appreciate the fact that theyll work on stuff that other shops dont want to deal with.

2022-04-25What a great service ! Returning to Canada, our car broke down in the middle of the night on the highway with nothing but the emergency light ...we just had time enough to put ourselves on the emergency lane.After calling 911, we were waiting for the tow truck which arrived faster than expected! We had exceptional service from Will and his partner who took matters into their own hands quickly to get us to safety and evacuate the car as soon as possible.Next day, Freemans auto service find the problem: the belt just broke and they were able to change it the same day !If you want honesty, good vibes and very good professional its the garage you need to go, thanks guys, you were awesome !

2022-04-17Freemans is one of the best companies I have had the pleasure of dealing with. I called to see if they had availability to do my inspection, and without hesitation took me in that day. Service there was excellent and quick. I was in and out of the shop in 20 minutes. Prices are beyond fair. I will 100% be a returning customer.

2022-06-02I wish I lived a closer them. They are friendly and professional. They have a great reputation around here. Any major auto repair work, I bring my car to them. Thankfully I have only had a few that needed their expertise, but when one of my cars needs a major repair, these are the guys that will get my business even though they are a bit far from my house.

2022-05-01My family and I were traveling to VT from NJ on the NY Thruway when 3 deer ran in front of my SUV and the impact left it disabled. Will from Freemans promptly arrived and brought my family and the vehicle to their shop, while waiting for a friend to pick us up. 2022-05-06My daughter and I broke down on 87N in the pouring rain. When I say broke down, I mean the car stopped working. Once I managed to get onto the shoulder, it only took about another minute or two until the car completely died and was smoking.I dialed 911 and they put me in touch with Freemans for a tow. It was pretty terrifying to have highway traffic whooshing by in the pouring rain, but Will arrived within about 15 minutes. He quickly got my teenage daughter and I safely into his truck and then loaded the van onto the flatbed. We were blessed to meet Will that night. He was kind, professional, and also made us laugh a little. I cant say enough good things about Will and the whole towing experience with Freeman.This made the choice of mechanic easy for me, along with their glowing reviews. My van was in bad shape with a problem that took some time to diagnose. Long story short, my starter was melted because it had been engaged constantly for some unknown period of time for some unknown reason.My daughter and I got a hotel and were in Harriman for 2 nights while Freeman worked diligently on my car. I spoke with Pat a number of times and he was kind and patient in explaining what was happening. I am from Long Island and the folks at Freeman did not know me from a hole in the wall. Yet, they put a sense of urgency and priority around my repair and succeeded in getting me out of town before 1pm on Saturday after having towed me off the highway Thursday evening.In addition to the above, I also felt the cost was very fair.I couldnt recommend them any more highly. I only wish they were in my town!!
