This place is so overpriced, especially the healthy foods or organic or plant based milks. The tofu used to be 2 for 5 and now is 2 for 6. The same tofu in other places is like $2-2.50. The vegan isle with miso is insane, miso paste will be almost $8 and I buy it in another store close buy for $5. I understand there is a big health movement now with vegan options but common, like no wonder not many people buy any of these things from this store. Like I can get the same organic products in Trader Joe’s at least 30% cheaper.
Every time I come here the recycling machines are broken down by people who selfishly bring these giant bags of bottles and cans and ruin it for everyone else. The staff takes ages to repair these problems and people have stuff to do. I’d like to do more business here but this makes it impossible.
I despise this supermarket with a passion. Their aisles are packed so extremely tight, you can’t even do groceries with a cart, it’s simply impossible. If you’re POC, they’ll keep their eyes on you like a hawk. Awful, I wish to never return to this location. If you want to be profiled by the customers and management, come here. Otherwise don’t.
EVERY SINGLE TIME I come here there are mistakes at the checkout, and quite often it is items on sale that ring up incorrectly. EVERY SINGLE TIME.Also this place is inexplicably more expensive than Billys, which is a far superior supermarket at Cypress/Jefferson. Go to Billys, you will be happier, there are cheaper prices, and no bullsh*t with incorrect prices at the checkout.
I like the keyfood/fresh n save store. They have a nice selection of fruit, cheeses, deli items (their tuna salad is great), vegan items and beverages. If youre looking for a blueprint or kevita they usually have them. My go to grocery spot. Prices have increased on some items but the selection has also improved. They also now carry some Mexican baked good e.g conchas (finally!)
Amazing Stuff, Good food, Clean and Nice... BUTYou MUST check your recite immediately, right next to the checkout!!! They deliberately put one prices for products, and when you pay for them, price are different! This is no coincidence! This is a regular basis! Judging by the reviews, not only I noticed this! Check your recite!
This is a great market. It has a great selection of just about everything. Im sad they took away the fresh fish department, however, they still have a good selection of frozen fish of all kind. They have an amazing cheese section. You can make a great cheese and fruit board for parties. The produce is always on point, and the meat section is always fresh. They also have an great pre-packed food section near their deli area.Sandwich, salads, sushi, you name it, they probably have it pre-packed.They also stay open pretty late, which is a big plus. So, if you want to go to a great grocery store, keep in mind this one if you are in the Ridgewood area.
This place has good sales from time to time. Certain items can be a little pricey though. I like shopping here because they have an excellent deli section! However, this store is jammed packed with merchandise that it is very hard to navigate a shopping cart through the store. The aisles are very narrow in the produce department and merchandise and shelves are in the walkways. Forget about trying to navigate down an aisle with a stockworker stocking the shelves because you wont be able to get through the aisle. Your best bet will be to go around through the adjacent aisle. Osha law requires at least 3 feet of space in a walkway so people can exit safely in an emergency, in this store that would be very difficult. Im a little surprised that the FDNY or OSHA hasnt fined or shut this place down yet. There are 6 bottle machines at this location but be careful when you bring bottles here because certain brands of soda or water that they sell that has a deposit on it will be rejected by the bottle machine. Ive spoken to the manager about certain beer that they sell that they are charging deposits on yet is rejected by the bottle machine he said he put in a request for the machine to be updated that was 3 years ago and it still hasnt been updated. Dont even bring Key food brand soda or water here for redemption because they will not take it back because they claim they do not sell it even though it is their own brand. Under NYS Bottle law they have to take back anything they sell and collect a deposit on yet they get away with not paying out deposits because their bottle machines are rigged! If it wasnt for the deli section of this store I would shop elsewhere. Then again what other options do I have? Stop and shop? (See my review for Stop & shop). Forget it! The only redeeming feature of this store is the deli section.
Same as all Key Foods, pricey groceries I want but bad staff attitudes I dont want. Every Key Foods I ever go to has staff who treat the customers like they are interfering with their work. The point of sales machines never work correctly and the cashiers always tell me Im doing it wrong, maybe so if I had problems all the time everywhere, but I do not--only at Key Foods do the card machines always say chip error and then decline my purchase and I have to do it again. I tried this one as a last chance, the cashier mades things worse by declaring she couldnt give me cash back, it was the beginning of her shift, she clearly didnt care at all. Then she told me I dont know how to use the machine properly. Even if that was the case, its not what you say to your customer. Im never going back to any location.
Its an okay place. Been going here for years seen it change with different management. My gripe with the place it is too crowded with food and supplies. You can only walk one way through the aisles. There isnt any room for people to walk pass each other or put your shopping cart to the side. It has been like this before covid-19 and now we are on covid times it makes it less pleasant to be here to do shopping. They are also always restocking which on top of the previous complaint makes it even more crowded. You cant control how many people come into the store really people need groceries but this a simple management problem that should have been fixed long before covid.
I don’t hate this place but I also don’t love it. Aisles are too small to fit my baby’s stroller and the place just feels like an overall fire hazard, and don’t get me started on how ridiculously expensive they are. It’s a hit or miss for me, i’ve also purchased items that were expired in the past.
Hmm, nice staff, polite and friendly.Excellent crew in the deli and produce department.Did a huge business during the Covid crisis, good for them. Prices went up, bad for us.Store was crammed with people - no social distancing no ‘one way only’ around the aisles.Concerning.Thanks.
Their renovation is almost complete. The store looks spectacular.Shopping at this Fresh n Save location is a pleasure. Everything is fresh, especially their crisp produce. And they carry a wide array of organic and non-organic groceries. They carry practically and absolutely everything we need, as customers.
I like it much more than usual markets like stop&shop! Theres wide choice of vegan food and European products that you cant really find else where. Whenever I go to grab some groceries the staff is nice and extremely helpful! Highly recommend this spot for your regular groceries 😉
Overall this supermarket is a mini whole foods, carrying almost the same merchandise. And it is sometimes less expensive, but recently their was a change. How about the managers, who seem disinterested with their work and more interested with the etiquette of their cashiers. This is fine, because this is a business establishment and everything should be ran well. But to undermine female cashiers (and the cashiers) in general is wrong. There is this one Middle Eastern manager who is very mean to the (female) cashiers. He treats them with no respect and he talks down to them, this is awful and degrading to women for the most part. Just the other day, I was shopping and I noticed he was telling a cashier to return some merchandise to the shelf, but it was said to the young lady barbarically! This is disrespectful, and again degrading; and why? because shes a young lady.
So pleased to find a local conventional grocery with a significant stock of organic foods! Ive been particularly impressed with their organic dairy and fresh produce. Its not fancy but neither are the prices. Plenty of registers so no long lines. Happy to spend some of my food budget in the neighborhood rather giving it all to Whole Foods/Amazon.
Almost as great as a whole foods now that its been renovated. My only concern is that I have seen too many products sold very close to the expiration date. Id love to see a salad bar and soup bar....and a taste testing table, as there are always so many great and super interesting products to try that are available!
Newly remodeled “fresh and save” Key Foods gets 5 stars for many things, but as others have mentioned there are a few 1 star things to keep in mind.5 Stars for:New, clean, organized storeLarge produce selection with many hard to find thingsGood selection of hard to find (in-store) Organic, Non-GMO items1 Star for:BAD and VERY STRICT return policy. Basically don’t try returning anything after 7 days (24 hours for produce) and/or without a receipt. Even with a receipt before 7 days expect them to give you a hard time returning. Basically the opposite of Whole Foods, so ! Buyer be Ware !A lot of their prepared salads and food LOOKS like it would be good, HOWEVER it’s made on the same commercial kitchens as all Key Foods and is LOADED with SODIUM and/or FAT and oil. I’m pretty sure they are legally supposed to put nutrition info on those things now and don’t 🤔Finally, make sure you pay attention at checkout if you are purchasing something on sale/special. There is a good chance it won’t ring up at the advertised price.
Convenient, price are ok. This store offers discounts and if youre a club/member - you get perks. If you shop there almost every week, you accumulate points that goes towards a discount of sometimes 10% or 20%. The place is well-kept and nicely arranged, the alleys are narrow however. Parking spot is available in the back which is a plus.
Their prices are very very high. Why? All the remodeling this store has done over the years. They have to make that money back so the prices are high. Besides, I can walk an extra few blocks to Stop and Shop and save on the same product that was for $20 there and $15 at S&S. So, which would you prefer?
Been shopping here for years. Good prices and sales, the girls up front work quick, great selection of beer as one reviewer said I wish they could sweep up or corner off the bottle collection machine in the back corner of the parking lot since broken glass creeps out too much at times. The sidewalk/street out of the parking lot needs to be fixed up. Not too friendly for European carsAmending review 1 year later. DO NOT BUY THE MEAT HERE. They spray some chemical on it (smells like Lysol or something) to make the meat look more fresh. Thought it was only the chicken breast but the pork and other meats have the same smell when the open the package and it definitely does taste different. I know buy my meat from the local butcher a few blocks away
Still not finished,so shopping is not comfortable, prices are too high for many products, especially vegetables and fruits. However they carry organic vegetables and fruits, also big choice of cheese, but I saw some expired. A meat is more expensive, but a choice is wider. The store is not enough spacious and still not properly organized.I am waiting with some hope for finishing of renovation.
Im forced to rate this place at a single star because there isnt a zero star available. I shop here on a daily basis for odds and ends and happened to hold on to an agave for 3 weeks that was sealed and dated to expire in 2021 when I came back to return it. I was met by what seemed like a head cashier whom claimed that she needed a managers approval for such return, she returns with a Manager by the name of Sam who with a straight face tells me that perishables have a 24hour window of return and grocery items have a 7 day window of return. The item I was returning today was $3.49, sealed and due to expire in 2021. On this day I had a shopping list of about $100 that I was going to spend there. I hope you Sam learn the value of your customers, and learn how to make managerial decisions more consciously. Btw there was no publicly posted sign advertising said return policy, anywhere near the checkout or on the receipt. You have graciously lost a customer that spent approximately $300.00/week there on items that you actually make money on and are never on sale. Kudos to Sam the manager for pissing off and losing another customer.
You never know how much you are gunna pay. Half the items don’t have a price posted, and even when there is a price posted I end up getting charged more. “Sales” will be advertised but you still get charged full price. Rude staff too, unwilling to fix it. Too bad because this place has the best selection in my neighborhood.
Third item Ive gotten from them this year that has gone moldy or rotting well before the expiration date.First was cheddar cheese with mold hidden inside, same day Id bought it. Emailed the company and got no response. Then a prepackaged salad that had rotten bits in well before expiration date, emailed the company again no response. Emailed the manufacturer and they sent me a reimbursement and a coupon.Today I found that the bread I bought 2 days ago is now covered in mold. Im tired of it, and wont be spending my money at this location any more.Do not trust this stores food, there are plenty of items on their shelves that have already expired (even according to the dates) and wont be taken down. Its obvious that they dont check
Mixed bag, I love the deli section but many times the staff will ask me the customer to get the bread for a hero sandwich it should not be up to the customer to fetch bread not that Im lazy but its not proper to have me touch bread before preparation that should be the job of the deli workers, still the excellent selection of foods keeps me coming back.
Dont appreciate the way i was treated today, a cashier that i wasnt even in her checkout lane felt that they had the right to get loud at me in front of people because i wanted to leave my food and stroller at the checkout to get my beverages which were behind the narrow checkout counters, and thats how i always get my drinks theres no other easier way to get them then to leave your cart everything is narrow and i never had a problem before. Today there was no line behind me there was no one behind me it wasnt even packed but today everyone had a problem with me leaving my stroller and food at the counter to get my beverages. Her exact words exactly ARE YOU NOT DONE SHOPPING. So rude and disrespectful i only took less then 30 seconds. Not to mention back in july my family got food poisoning from old store brand salami out of spite from some old man deli guy all because they messed up my order they gave me cheese when i said i wanted salami and they looked mad and gave me old salami so i knew it was intentional. My new response to everyone who works here ill walk the extra few blocks for respect.
The store is closterphobic. The isles are set every each way. The isles are too narrow. The shelves are packed too tight. You cant stop and look at what you are buying because other people cant get by. Expensive stuff I have never heard of. Regular things put out of sight. AND THE ISLES ARE TOO NARROW!
I have nothing but great things to say about this place , the staff is super super helpful and their meats , veggies & meats are great . Parking lot and lines are always short and during this pandemic they have it running sweet . So thanks for being part of our neighborhood
Nice neighborhood grocery store. Plenty of quality cultural food...but the isles in the store are my worry, one cart at a time and make sure that you are under a weight limit because there is no room. If two people go thru at the same time you will get stuck and never come out.
Sad to say, I really like this store, but Ive chosen to give the place 3 stars because of some incident that happened a day ago. There big barbaric manager beat up their fish counter employee before my eyes. Then some other employees, instead of breaking up the situation, looked like they made matters worse. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL & Barbaric!!!!Straighten up your managers. This place is usually unlike this. Things like this shouldnt happen in establishments like this. Sorry I had to witness the barbarism first-hand.
I urge you to press into the ground hamburger through the plastic and check if it is gray inside. Longtime time customer but they are on Fair with astruggling guy. They sold me spoiled hamburger that was red on outside and gray on the inside( in the industry they take expiring meat and roll it in fresh dye and blood and pi new labels on it)and smelled sour and wouldn’t refund. I showed them their other hamburger was bad the shift manager politely denied it was. Like I was born yesterday didn’t know what expired and we looked it smelled like.I had no dinner all stores were closed and had the choice to eat some or go without dinner before returning again To work for 14 hours again the next day.He said he would only refund half the meat as half was gone/ didn’t care that it was spoiled or admit it: so ridiculous he should have refunded all my money for the bad experience alone. I will be speaking with the manager to handle this properly. Yeah the rest the stuff is good and they do have great two-for-one deals
Do not shop here!!! Repeat do not shop here!!!My wife and I went in to purchase the cake for a Christmas Eve party. We purchased a death by chocolate cake that cost $13 plus tax. We took the cake all the way to the party and then went to put it on the table and saw it was covered in white mold. Was extremely embarrassing and disgusting to see that on a cake who is label said it expires on December 27th.It takes at least 7 to 9 days for white mold to show in food. The question is how long has it been sitting there?? Also are they manipulating the Expiration date???I will never shop here again nor should you. Also for a side note. I called the supermarket to tell them this and the manager demand it for me to come all the way back to show him the cake before issuing a refund.Below I have attached some photos.Do yourself a favor and do not shop here.
The prices frequently ring up incorrectly - watch the POS screen the ENTIRE time as the cashier is ringing you up. There have been times where the amount I was incorrectly charged added up to $5 to $10. Also, when recycling bottles, you cannot apply the returns towards your purchase but have to cash in separately and often with a specific cashier.
Its a nice looking super market since they did their renovations. Im just a little annoyed with the security guard who makes you feel like a thief. He follows you all around and is super close not even discrete about it. Im in there like 4 times a week i live across the street but if they dont retrain the security guard i might not go in there which sucks because its right across from my apt
They have remodeled the hole store a few years back. They have a hot food section from everything to indian, asian, spanish, and american food cooked in house and served fresh. The deli meat is always fresh and cut the way you like it . cheese from around the world and hard to find items. This new keyfood will become a staple of culture influence in the neighborhood. Polish items can also be found and cooked . If your looking for that food network ingredients that you just cant find anywhere; well your best bet is this keyfood. They will have it here . dont listen to keyfood app or web page , they do delivery.
I will rate it 3 because it was just my first time there and I dont want to judge this place to harshly based only this one time. The overall appearance is quite appealing. Its very spacious and well lit. It has a Whole Foods and Trader Joes vibe. We went there specifically for the hot or ready to eat section because its huge. The sad part is though, you only see the meats and meals thru the glass because they pack it for you. So you dont know how fresh it is. We ordered sashimi box, a pound of chipotle chicken, pound of chicken teriyaki and 2 already premade hot meals of beef teriyaki over yellow rice, just to find that the only edible thing was chicken teriyaki. The rest of it was not edible at all. The chipotle chicken smelled like old chicken, had an awful odor, the beef had no flavor and the veggies and yellow rice tasted spoiled and old and sashimi didnt taste fresh but thawed.
I love this place go there constantly always well recommend to my friends and others always beautiful and clean place and fresh on everything I get there and always find everything I need in the organic section very wide variety there love it !!! and in the bakery and produce fresh always and Clean and manager there is very friendly there very nice and helpful keep it up with the great job !!!!
I am not living in the area, but I come at least once a week to this supermarket because it has a very convenient parking, it offers a wide variety of products to choose from and moderate prices. In addition to all these, the personnel and especially the manager are very friendly and helpful.
Just went shopping here. Cold cut display area is nice. Cut well. BUT when I went to pay for my cold cuts and my tomatoes I fibs out the tomatoes are not the tomatoes that were in sale. Only bought the cold cuts. Went to get theright tomatoes to find out the whole display is organic instead of nonorganic. Went up to register. Wanted to let manager know the display was wrong and could cost people a lot of money. 3.39 vs 1.09 is a big difference. The register girls didnt think he needed to know. Or so it seemed. I said I want to buy the right ones and they looked at me like I had 3 heads. I had to ask them to come with me to pick out the right ones. They now saw the whole display was wrong and still did nothing about it. Left it as is. The screens are hard to read if you wear glasses and I could easily have been charged the wrong price. Btw the 9 signifies organic on the sticker. Just learned that. Heaven forbid they write organic on the label.
The floor manger in here was very rude to me. I asked her if theyre were any Reeses cup. She said they were behind me. I was already holding a bunch of bags so I asked her does she mind grabbing for me. She said umm no sorry. Theyre right there and proceeds to walk off. So I walk over only to see that they werent even Reeses cups like I asked for. Highly upset. Doesnt know the products in the store and just rude.
This hidden gem will definitely catch you off guard. From the outside youll think huh what is that? Then its like walking into the supermarket narnia. Beautiful presentation with so many different varieties of products. They are for sure to have what you are looking for!
Literally every time you come to this grocery store the isles are rearranged. Ive also gotten beef and chicken of questionable quality from them and their beer selection dwindles every time I come in (now they dont even refrigerate their selection it just gathers dust in the back of the store)

2022-06-12CHECK DATES ON EVERYTHING! This place consistently sells expired products (including meat goods). And Im not talking like it expired yesterday - items expired a week ago. I have had this happen with packaged meats, dairy, and deli good (bacon, sausage). I have also bought items that I discovered were unsealed when I opened the container.Their selection is great and I love all their baked goods, but you really need to triple check dates on everything you buy. I have had to go back and return things a few times, right after I bought them, because I forgot to check the dates.

2022-05-11As a vegan I can say I am picky about my food but this place is not ok.. we need to report them to the media and every outlet. they need to quit... The food is always expired. Always something on the food, Either mold, expired or just doesnt taste good... bad place to buy food.

2022-05-11My office is up the block. I stopped going here. During the pandemic I saw many physical fights with the managers and clients shopping. I know the managers. One is indian oversized guy and the other guy is a tall russian looking with salty hair. These guys are abusive to customers. Go to stop and shop where they have fresh food. I had another client walk in to the lawyers office next door looking to sue them. The lady was hospitalized after buying their food and getting food poison. She complained to me because she lives around the neighborhood and we speak anytime we see each other. Anyways.. DONT SHOP HERE

2020-01-29Very clean and organized supermarket. Staff knows exactly where things are and one man gave me accurate directions to find walnuts. They also have a nice variety of tofu and organic products. The meats and fish look clean. Definitely coming back.Sushi doesnt look so fresh, hopefully it will look more fresh next time.

2022-02-21Good assortment of grocery items ,& pricey. Bought a tray of sushi $6.99 & found cream cheese inside the roll. Hardly any ginger & a dolop of wasabi.Who the hell adds cream cheese inside a sushi roll. Never again will I buy any sushi at this store.Be Careful what buy.....you never know what they add.Is it so difficult to add a green veggie instead. Wow...prices sure have skyrocketed since the last time I was here.Yikes.

2022-06-14This is like an upgraded key food. The selection is pretty good although the prices are a bit higher than a normal key food. This location is a bit cramped and hard to maneuver when it’s crowded.

2022-05-11Dont shop here!!! if you want semonella then shop here. I live across the street if you see the rats running into their gates. The worse part is them having fruits sitting outside when we have rats the size of cats throughout myrtle. The bread bins always has flies inside them. DISGUSTING!!!!

2022-05-11The irony of this supermarket being named Fresh and Save.Nothings ever fresh and everything is expensive.Disgusting place to visit.. Go somewhere else.

2022-01-04Security stopped me thinking I was stealing oranges and bananas just because I had a bag with me with some items I purchased on stop and shop. Don’t do business here.. they got incompetent security guards that barely speak English and probably are not licensed.

2022-03-02Excellent selection of items. From Spanish staples to Polish necessities, this grocery market has it all.
