Used to order from this place all the time. This time delivery guy delivered food with miso soup on top of our sushi (genius!). 2 out of 3 miso soups spilled into sushi trays and all over the bag. Zero help from management, they claimed they will come and pick up the food. 30 min later I called back and ask when is someone coming they said nobody is coming, they told me to get rid of the food and ask for refund from Seamless. I called Seamless, I was told I had to provide pictures, after manager told me to get rid of the food. Do not order from this place. Terrible business practice, unprofessional. Now they are trying not to refund my money. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS PLACE. They operate like Crooks!!!!!!
We usualy love sushi from chikurin but i did order for delivery today with 11 rolls and get only 8.when my husband call them and tell that they didnt make 3 more rolls they tell us that they are bussy and will give us 3 roll with next order. What? Never will be buy sushi at this place again. Not recommend.
Horrible service!!!! Nasty people Lia and the store manager are douchebags!!! Ordered from Chikurin many times... I called on Sunday at 10:03 to order food. I got nasty Lia on the phone I wanted to make an order. After trying to explain to Lia to copy my wifes previous order she goes Sorry we are closed where I replied to her, but your menu says you close at 10:30 pm. Sorry kitchen is closed she says. Then how come your menu says 10:30 pm I asked. She said we are closed and hangs up. WOW. I called back and asked for the manager. After telling him the situation, and he said oh I dont care you ordered before, we are CLOSED!!!
Used to be better. They cant even clean the shrimp well. The fish doesnt taste fresh at all. Felt sick after i had Chikurin. The one in Brooklyn on Ave Z is wayyy better and the staff in BK doesnt watch over you for their tip. I ordered delivery and when it arrived the delivery guy asked for his tip before i could even pay for the food first. Another time i ordered and when it arrived I gave him a $5 tip, and he said Only $5? Why not more? Will not be eating at Chikurin Staten Island anymore. They only care about their tips and thats it.
We used to order rolls in Chikurin. Tha last order made 1/1/2018 in Staten Island on New Dorp was disgusting. The rice was sticky and rolls were not fresh and tasty. We could not eat and threw them out.In contradiction, the rolls in Chikurin on the Avenue M in Brooklyn are always fresh and tasty.
Currently eating here. so far so good. The lobster salad was freah, light and had a nice presentation. the chicken salad was nothing special but tasted good and had a large piece of chicken. the rolls came out. (picture atrached) I got the most expensive roll $15 (tomo roll) it was delicious, the rest of the rolls were fresh and nicely presented. my boyfriend had the lobster roll. the desert was absolutely delicious with creamy inside and raspberry sauce on the plate. the bill ended up being $55 but we got 7 things. (appetizer, chicken salad, 4 rolls and dessert.) I think thats reasonable in todays day and age.Overall I would come here again. the servers were very nice and attentive, the place was clean. presentation ort the food looked nice and I love that the menu has colorful pictures and descriptions. were a young couple that love to try new places, and I would come back here again. the atmosphere is definitely younger, the music is house/pop (wasnt super loud) I can see how it can get super busy, requiring more wait time but what good place is dead?
Maybe its just today but i think their service coming down. Restaurant was not even half full and they couldnt bring fiod for two people at the same time. Im sitting 10 min already while my husband already eating his. Appetizer still not here.Waiter doesnt understand what wine means, had to write it on her paper.Horrible.
They need more delivery drivers to make the delivery process faster. Wait time is an hour sometimes even more. They have buy 2 special roll get 1 free. But with a holiday like fathers day the lady said to me that they only have that special non holidays. I find that to be ridiculous. My star went from 3 to now 2.
Worst costumer service !! Three times Ive gone in and waited 20+ mins for someone to even give me a menu.. Today was just last straw. Waitresses are rude the short one is always nasty. Since Im a 23 year old that looks 15 they make me pay upfront but never when Im with family. Over priced and crapy ..place is always empty because they suck NAKATA on Richmon Rd is way better
Way too loud, felt like I was in a club. Waited for a long time for the waitress to come up to us. When I ordered a mixed drink I was told that they have no time to make one. Waiting a while for the food to come and on top of it all, there was a chewed gum in my napkin. Not coming back.

2017-08-29Amazing sushi place!! Out of the dozens of sushi restaurants Ive been to Chikurin is the only one that has served sweet potato rolls HOT! When you order over a certain amount of sushi, they serve it on different plates--Ive had a boat shaped platter which looks stunning. Any roll is delicious! No complaints at all.

2018-03-18I have been a customer with Chikurin for a couple of years now, quality food, but service has been awful lately, especially upon delivery. Very disappointing. This is how my food was delivered to me; the soup was spilled over, and seeped into the sushi container and partially into the salads, not to mention the sushi itself also was all over the place in the container too, and the soup was all over the bag as well. Obviously this would piss anyone off. When I called to let them know and ask for new food, they didnt even want to give me that option at first but instead tell me Ill get some credit for next time. THEN continued on to tell me that the delivery guy has a lot of other orders in the car and theyre heavy and he probably squished it like that... That was their excuse. As business owners, they should know better than that, there is no excuse. If you deliver food from your restaurant, the bottom line is it should be delivered the way you would receive it as a dine in. So if you plan on ordering from here, make sure you check your food before the delivery person leaves because Im sure theyll give you an issue with it afterwards as well.

2017-02-16I love coming here. The staff is very attentive and they are very quick. The sushi is amazing. They have a huge variety of sushi rolls and plates for you to choose from. The place is very clean and spacious.

2018-03-012017.10 Well this is like a five year old restaurant ..typical Japanese restaurant ... lot of sp. Rolls ..... but why . Eat simple roll can taste what u order ... all sp roll once in ur month . Same. Their salmon teriyakie is like take out order . U can easily find better opts....and if they hv special fish...it would be something u want to try ..otherwise it is an average common one.. kind of dark for Japanese restaurant

2018-04-16I used to order delivery and eat in very often, but no more. There is a good reason why the place is always empty. Friendly staff, but be cautious with food. They served SPOILED TUNA in tuna roll. Stink like old fish and dark in color, they likely knew what they were serving. I will boycott them from now on. Brooklyn branch on Ocean Ave is much better and usually fresh.

2018-06-12Its a pretty good establishment, and its a good place to go to if you want pretty good sushi/rolls on the island. The waiters are a bit slow and quite a few dont speak English as their first language, but its not too much of a hassle. Some of the seats, mainly the window seats, slide around a bit if you move around too much in the seat. Overall though, good place to go if youve got a few friends who want to go to a sushi place for a quick bite for lunch (they have a lunch special till 3:30PM, I believe).

2018-03-18Ordered blue point oysters, asked for horseradish sauce, they had no idea what I was talking about. My husband ordered medium rare hibachi steak, got well done instead. We asked for waters, had to wait for it, even though the restaurant is pretty much empty.Overall this place has gone down. We are not coming back.

2019-08-14We were happy to randomly find this restaurant.Great Dim Sum including very tasty shrimp! Wide ranging menu, great prices and you can usually get a table, especially at lunchtime but its also good for dinner with decent decor.

2018-03-25Most of the time I dont have confidence in Japenese restaurants run by Chinese. Therefore I do not come here for Japanese food, even for sushi/rolls. However, I find that some of their Cantonese dim sum are pretty good, like Shrimp Dumpling, Pan,Fried Stuffed Green Pepper, Rice Rolls (Cheung fun), especially those with shrimps. They are comparable to the few Dim Sum restaurants in Chinatown and Brooklyn, giving me confidence to come for lunch on weekends.
