Food is amazing , service is amazing and the manager Jackie Kaiser is awesome and runs an amazing restaurant
We went on a Friday night and it was very busy. The entire staff including the manager was working their tails off! Food was great, came out hot. Staff was friendly and restaurant was clean. We will definitely be back!
One of the worst place I have ever been. There was an old white lady was serving me. They made us wait so long. They weren’t even busy bc the store had just opened and there was someone already there sitted. I took my kids to eat bc it was his birthday he turned 3years old and I was with my 1 year old too. The place was dirty I had to clean the table myself. I told the lady it was my son’s birthday if he can get cake and sing to him. She said yes. I was very polite to her. But she was not one of the worst waitresses. She did not have her mask on her face. Kept touching her nose. Sneezing. Talking over me with no mask on. They do not follow the COVID protocol. After she served me i said thank you 3 time she did not answer. I had to ask her for crayons for my kids to draw she didn’t want to give it to me until insist. Very rude. She was very nice to the other white customers but not me I don’t know if she don’t like kids or if it was bc I was black I will never eat there again. The desert was trash. I had them throw it out. They can’t even Sing happy birthday for a baby that’s sad. I don’t recommend anyone to eat there. There steak was pink I throw up felt nauseous once I got home. No one deserves to be treated like that not when they spending their money.

Here for lunch with seven quite older women. Sharon our waitress was wonderful! No problem with separate checks, patient in explaining different menu options. She amazingly remembered who ordered what ice cream Sunday. Checks provided and picked up quickly. A very positive experience and every one was pleased with their meal.
Great ambience!!good food ,good service, great for the kids, laughs with the kids. Great hamburgers with ability to jazz it up. Other dishes really good. If you are a senior, senior menu plus a free sundae . Go enjoy yourself, bring the kids , or go with family or friends. Become a kid again, why not?
I want tuna roll back or I will not be coming as often anymore.
They have tasty fried clams and i always get their milkshakes (so good) the only problem at the time was their silverware. It had bits of old food on it and it was all wrapped in 1 bundled napkin. ( There were 3 sets ) usually silverware is individually wrapped. The quality that night was off and nothing ...dinner like or really like going out, kind of like eating at Subway. They have carpeting which I dont see many food places at all have. We didnt wait long for the food and they dont have the tech like Olive garden with the small kiosks on the table and you just do the payment there.
For an order in the front desk of an strawberry shortcake sundae I had to wait about 10 minutes or more for a employee to finish a phone call with another costumer, need more employees.

We always receive friendly service at this location, and our orders are always correct. We usually only order ice cream, and this is our go to place around here for it. They are often busy when we visit but we are still served quickly despite the crowd.
If you are looking for a fairly inexpensive lunch, dinner or just ice cream this is a clean, quiet, family oriented place to eat. They are always well staffed, professional and friendly.The menu offers everything from a single scoop of ice cream, kid sundaes, wide variety of breakfast items, sandwiches, soups, salads and many dinners that all include something fried. There are also healthier selections as they offer a variety of salads and unfortunately only vanilla frozen yogurt.The wait staff is friendly and timely, but we have had to wait longer than usual to get our food at different times of the day, especially on Saturday afternoons or Sunday mornings.A nice place for families with small children as they do have a kids menu, high chairs and coloring pages with crayons to keep them entertained until the food is served.
So disrespectful and there food is eh. My family tried to order out food from them and the woman on the phone went out of her way to be rude and disrespectful to my grandmother and refused to let her order what she wanted to order. Don’t waste your money or your breath not worth it.
Servings are getting smaller and cheese. Getting to the point where theres no point in going any more.
Friendlys was very good this time around. My niece and nephew enjoyed their entire meals and our server was very professional.

This friendlys has been around forever with so many great memories. Its always busy but never a long wait. Its a locals favorite. Whether its teens hanging out or family night its always a great crowd. Service and food is awesome
My daughters and I went to Friendlys for the Big Two Do breakfast special. It was a very rainy day, and the waitress who was working solo, was awesome! As a visitor, I felt welcome and at home among the regulars.
The service at this Friendlys was not bad at all, the waitress was very quick with our drinks, appetizer and meal as well as with the check. However, the table in front of us were disgraceful. It is a Saturday night so I expect it to be loud, but the people in front of us were yelling to each other and banging on the table to make music; the male was doing inappropriate gestures to the female sitting next to him which is inappropriate to do in public to begin with, but to me, it crosses the line even further when it is in a restaurant and with young children around. However, the final straw was when food was being thrown at their table and some of it landed on the table I was sitting at with my boyfriend and instead of turning around to apologize, the female were threw the food laughed it off and her friend leaned over to see my facial reaction. That was it for me, I got the check very quickly, didnt even check it to make sure it was correct, left cash in the book and handed it to our waitress and left. We used to love this Friendlys and while this complaint is not about the service, it was obvious that the staff knew the other customers were not thrilled with this table and nothing was said.
They should have never starting delivering since they clearly can’t handle it. The past 4 times I have placed an order for delivery, my order is not correct and things are missing. Tonight I placed a simple ice cream only order with maybe 4 sundaes and once again I’m sending the delivery driver back to get the missing items. GET IT TOGETHER.
Waited 10 minutes to be seated, waiters just looked at us standing. Even manager just looked at us.also. We left and went to Applebee’s better service and better food. Your lost my business
Food is average. Senior menu was discontinued and now you only receive 10% discount on food.
Server was nice but everything else was not good. The food was not great and it definitely didnt look like it did in the menu. My son was disappointed. East Islip needs to get it together. The staff were hitting one another it was unprofessional and jus a bit much. I like friendlys hope it gets better
I came in to pick up food I had ordered and the staff just looked at me . I stood for about 15 mintues looking around until I got fed up and asked to pick up food. I called to let the manager know and I heard her voice immediately hung up Because she was did it too !
The food was excellent and the workers are extremely nice but I have to say I had an issue with my waitress. I had Melissa as a waitress and she was rude and not friendly like the friendlys environment should be. I just want to know how you can work at friendlys and not even be friendly!
The tables were very close together making it difficult and awkward to walk into the back searing area. The restaurant is very loud I dont know if it is just the acoustics or just a few loud tables but I could barely hear my own kids. When the ice cream arrived it was mostly melted. Will never go back for sit down serbice.
We enjoyed breakfast very much. Prices were good and the portions were just enough. Restaurant was clean and newly renovated since we were there last.
Breakfast is under rated. Why wait a half hour at ihop when you can walk right into friendlys? Restaurant was clean, service was friendly and attentive and most importantly the food was good

Friendlys is for the kids...My 9 y/o enjoyed her meal & ice cream so who cares if my meal was greasy and dripping of oil.

2022-05-15I live in East Islip and recently noticed that the few times Ive stopped in on the ice cream to go side there are all teenagers working making the Sundays and they seem to cater to the Uber eats/Doordash orders rather than the walk in to go orders. They will take your order, your money and forget your there, they will even put your order in the freezer instead of giving it to you, youll find your self waiting 30 minutes for a Sunday thats sitting in the freezer already done. Unfortunately that side of the restaurant is all teenagers and some seem to work kind of slopy, with no adult supervision that they seriously need,something should be done about that, I wont be getting my ice cream to go from there any more.On the other hand I recently took my son there for ice cream and appetizers and the service on the restaurant side was on point, The food and ice cream were good along with the servers. The servers were swamped as the restaurant was packed, they did a great job and the kids were all having a blast like they should at friendlys.

2022-04-20When. We went to this location our experience were awful and we ordered shrimp and the shrimp poop was still in it! We also ordered a pizza that wasn’t cooked! We had to wait so longggg!!! My tenders were not cooked either they were dry and bland. The Mac and cheese was watery and barely had any cheese. I wouldn’t recommend coming. Keep in mind I only went there once and then stopped me and my two friends almost vomited!!! we ordered the Superman ice cream special and the cup was very dirty, I don’t even think they cleaned!!!👎 And for the last thing we had mozzarella sticks and they had barely any cheese and was very soggy 👎👎👎

2022-05-25This isn’t a review based off my experience dining here but rather my experience trying to work at this location. I applied in indeed and got a callback within 20 minutes which was great because we immediately scheduled a time for an interview. However, I called back the day of the interview just to ask if they’d prefer I bring in another hard copy of my resume or email it to them (a lot of places always request another resume just to ensure it’s up to date no matter how recently you applied) just to find out the interviewer, Jackie, confused when we’re supposed to meet. She listed it for the day prior meaning I already missed it but I repeated back the date and time to her during our first call. I tried to explain this to her and then suggest we schedule a new date and time, hopefully via email so there’s concrete proof, and she cut me off annoyed before I could even finish and just doubled down on me having missed the interview. Of course, I could have continued to try and plead my case and insist on rescheduling but from her tone of voice it would clearly be a waste of time even if I did get her to agree because she had clearly already made up her mind about whether or not to hire me. I am especially annoyed because I made sure to not only repeat it back to her but also because I missed out on another interview since the time they wanted to meet may have conflicted with this interview because I was unsure of the duration and I also understand that others interviews may run long and I’ll be unable to be seen on time. Clearly, I was foolish to try and prioritize this interview and will not consider this company in the future. One of the main reasons I look for jobs via Indeed is because they tend to use that platform to have you schedule an interview so it’s automatically added to both parties calendars or they’ll follow up with emails, this is partly because they want another copy of your resume as previously stated, this whole experience was truly a waste of time.

2022-01-24Went to Friendlys East Islip this past Sunday. It was empty except for one table for 6 in the back. The tables at the entrance were dirty. We waited over 5 minutes because the servers were all in the kitchen. No one came out to seat us or acknowledged us. We decided to leave mostly because the servers we could see were not wearing masks. Disappointed. We love their ice cream. ( It was 1 pm by the way).

2022-02-05I havent had Friendlys in 3 years and it was worth the wait. We finished our meals and it was good! Just as good as STEAK AND Shake in Tampa on Bruce B Downs! The Fribble Shake hasnt changed at all! Onion Rings were good and Burger! Hubby had the turkey meal and didnt complain at all!

2022-01-19I came to this location yesterday and had a horrible experience. I came across this lady named Jackie I believe. She is an older lady who looks miserable and not friendly at all. She was very bitter and miserable. I asked her for a cup of water and she ignored me. I don’t understand how establishments hire these type of people. I work in a restaurant and would never treat a guest that way! I don’t think I will be coming back to this location especially with people like that working! Besides her, everyone else was super nice and friendly.

2021-10-17Friendlys was at 75% capacity tonight. We did not have to wait too long before someone took out order it took around 25 minutes for the food to come out. Drinks were handed out pretty quickly. After we had ordered, an all American hamburger and two orders of macaroni and cheese with cheddar (white) and chicken fingers etc. 20 minutes later, we then ordered dessert. Dessert took 30 minutes to arrive. Service has always been very good at the Islip location regardless of how many patrons there are on any given night. Overall a B / B + rating tonight

2022-01-02Have you ever eaten at Friendlys before?Shake off every preconception and hope for good experiences, and instead prepare to wait an absurdly long time for sundaes that dont live up to a shadow of historical reality.The children making your ice cream are probably vegans, and the lady working the counter has forgotten your name, to say nothing of the fact that your order has been sitting ready in the freezer for half of an hour while you stand there like a goob.Its enough to make one switch to Carvel.
