Its hard to do a review of something I cant go inside but from the outside its definitely the real thing from the show! It was funny to stand on the corner of the street and have other strangers standing next to you and realizing what we are looking at. Then asking, is that the building from the show?.
Cool site to see! This location is an easy walk with safe streets and sidewalks around it. It is just a small walk away from some major New York sites. It was a few minutes away from the Ghostbuster’s firehouse and the Stonewall Monument. I recommend checking out all three of you have the time/interest.
Nothing fancy, just a cool looking, iconic building in a lovely neighbourhood. Worth visiting because of the area surrounding it.It is right on a public street, so it is completely free of charge. Many tourist will be hangong around in the exact same spot I took the photo from, which takes away a bit from the feeling.
Always dreamt of visiting this place. Ill be there for you! So happy to be born in a time when they produced such a phenomenal TV sitcom. Everytime I visit NY, I make sure Im always visit the Greenwich village just to take a snap of this legendary building. Love it. Love friends. Love the 90s.
Amazing experience, for someone like me that have been highly influenced by this tv show the experience of been in this location that is as iconic. I went in a lovely day, and I was able to to have a fantastic experience. Also the whole neighborhood is beautiful I recommend wondering around you won’t regret it!PS: Washington Square Park is really nearby
So fun to stumble on this spot! I’m a big Friends fan, but even if you aren’t, it’s fun to see the iconic building. I also love this whole area of the Village. If you have the time, I recommend walking along Hudson Street from Tribeca through SoHo all the way up here to the Village and up to 14th St. You just take a short right on Grove Street and you’ll spot the famous apartment (see photo). It’s such a beautiful walk and a great way to see so many NYC neighborhoods. I love taking friends on that walk on a nice day (or strolling it myself)! Also fun fact – they filmed a scene in the new rom com “Isn’t it Romantic” with Rebel Wilson and Liam Hemsworth on this street right from this shot. It’s a charming street!
The Friends apartment. If you loved the TV series then it will definitely be a good idea to come to see it. However this apartment was only used for the outside shots, as the series was filmed in the NBC studios so bear that in mind. The neighborhood is very nice and there are several places to go eat around so it would be a good idea to come before lunch as the lighting is also pretty good around that time.
Whos a fan will understand what it means to be there , especially if you are from another country! I cried when I found myself in front of this building because this sitcom is just a big part of my teenage years; the show helped while I was learning English, then once I grew older, I started to actually relate to the characters... So it was amazing being there. - theres this coffee house/restaurant below, but its not central perk okay? Lol. I tried to have a glass of wine there but they were actually closed. Bummer. And to be honest, the property owner of that coffee place is missing out on a great opportunity. If he decided to turn that place into a central perk he would attract so many people!!!!! Loved it
I am a big fan of the show Friends so wanted to see the place. It was really exciting to see the exterior of the apartment building and the central perk coffee house look. Thats all you get to see and the place is crowded.IF you are in the city and are done with other places on your list sure can stop by if you are just going for this one dont expect much from the building, its a bit far from major attractions so take that in to consideration.I was a bit lost after reaching the place so I walked around a bit and ended up going to a beautiful Pier 45 park on Hudson river which was in a walkable distance. If you have pier as well on your list visiting this place wouldnt be a waste.
As expected! Cool corner/intersection in Greenwich village. Not all that hard to find and I imagine there’s always a little - large crowd of people on the opposing corner so you can just flock to them.Surrounding area is pretty residential but just a block or two away is Bleecker which was full of shops and restaurants if you want to make a full afternoon around visiting the area.
If you love the TV show its exciting but I dont know why I was expecting something more like a small place dedicated to them at least.. by the way... basically its the building and some writings on the walls. I love the TV show but for me was exciting and disappointed.
This spot is fun to geek out and snap photos if you are a friends fan. Best photos are angled from across the street and I was surprised at how many people crowded the corners to admire. The surrounding blocks are also Instagram worthy for a quick photo shoot with cobble stone streets and brownstone backdrops.
I love the show so this was totally worth it for me. Id say the only negative was there was some dude trying to sell pictures with a Rachel and Chandler cardboard cutouts here. He should have had at least Rachel and Ross.....come on dude! But awesome touristy thing to do, plus folks in this neighborhood are super awesome, we got lost heading for the sight and two friendly New Yorkers came to our rescue!!!!
I passed by and there were a bunch of people taking pictures of the building so I asked someone and she told me this was the apartment in Friends. I wouldn’t really go out of my way just for a picture of this building - but still pretty cool to see and a cute little neighborhood! If you like Friends then it’s worth a walk by if you’re in the area.
Anyone who religiously watched and rewatched all those 10 seasons would find this location fascinating. I was only left hoping that the street or the building (at least) bore some memoirs of the popular series because you almost miss it among the busy New York streets.
As a friend fanatic, going to their virtual apartment and taking a shot is a lifetime experience. I never felt happier during the whole trip to New York till I got there. I got there by Uber but the place is easily accessible by bus. When I got there, I found a sort of a local tour guide with a group of foreigners and the surprise was a lady, saying that she is the owner of FRIENDS apartment, offering one of them to go up there and see it from the inside. However, you need to bear in mind that the apartment from the inside is not like the one in the series; the one in the series is a studio in LA.
It was awesome going there, the only thing that was upsetting was that little red restaurant in the corner, i went in and asked to purchase a cup of water and owner held me at the door, told me that it would be best to go elsewhere to buy water because it was too expensive. I really felt like spitting in her fave but without making a scene i walked out.
We walked along the high line, then walked down Hudson (great area) and stopped by the building to take a picture to honor such a great show on our way to Washington Square Park (a most!). Nothing special, but it was on the way. The area is nice two, with a few restaurants that looked very popular.
Wasn’t even looking for this spot. I was on my way to Chelsea Market and saw a bunch of people standing on a corner taking pictures of a building across the street. I had to stop to see what was all the fuss about. After ten minutes of trying to figure out what I was looking at, I asked and they told me it was the Friends Apartment exterior.I have seen the show and didn’t even recognized it, it was just another building. So, unless you are a mayor Friends fan, don’t even bother.
I sometimes like to feel like a tourist in my own city and yesterday I wanted to check out the building that the Friends characters have lived, even though they didnt actually live in this building during the duration of the show. Overall, It is such a nice quiet area to walk through and a definite must see if ýou are a Friends fan like me. Plus, there is a cute restaurant downstairs on the ground floor..and thankfully there were no ugly naked guys to be seen.
Some employees were kind of rude, I never heard back from them when I contacted them previously, and they are obnoxious with their mask rules. I have a large beard so I bought special masks that are oversized and cover my entire beard down to my chest. This mask is approved by TSA and I can fly with it bit the employees here made me take it off and wear this tiny cheap one. Ridiculous, especially since we have to be vaccinated to enter anyways.
If you are a Friends series fun, its a must see place. When you be on site, there isnt any sign that its a right place. However if you are a huge fun, you will easily recognize the proper building. There is always a plenty of people doing photo session. If you are not a big fun, its still worth to visit this area because of interesting architecture and tasty food spots like Bleecker Street Pizza.
An epic view for all the friends fan, but this is a residential and quiet neighborhood. I would request anyone visiting to take a pic and keep the visit short, do not want to disturb the people living there! Another place marked visited on the checklist. I would definitely recommend walk till there since its such an amazing area in general, lot of local pubs and food joints as soon as you hit the main road. Absolutely loved visiting there.
This was a bit of a let down to be honest, we got the subway from times square and travelled down town to view the apartment. It was cool because its where the exterior of the friends apartment building was filmed but thats it, its just a regular apartment block with a small random cafe at the bottom (shocked this wasnt a central perk as that could have been one hell of a money maker and made the experience a lot better). My advice is if youre in that neighbourhood then pop over and have a quick look but other than that its nothing special.
I was surprised to see other people here taking photos. I thought I would be the only one, but this is still a major tourist attraction. This area is in a quiet neighborhood so you basically just take your picture and move on. It a cute photo for any Friends fan, but I also recommend going to the NBC studio store for awesome Friends souvenirs.
The kitchen is well equipped. There is a full bath and a half bath which really helps. Great location. A 5 star on walkability. Follow the very detailed instructions the host shares and you are good to go. (Rooms have no a/c and tend to get warm in summer.) I recommend, you spend time in the hall which has an a/c, piano, guitar and books!
One of most visited places in NYC. Visit and take a picture in front one of most recognized apartment in a world. And definitely visit little owl cafe house underneath Friends apartment. Two girls which have been working there that day were super friendly and polite. Go there drink a coffee and enjoy being underneath one of most recognized apartment in a world.
Its always busy down here. Easy to find, no need to take a tour. Dont forget Ross apartment across the road too. Also near Greenwich Village is the Ghostbusters Fire House although its a bit of a walk. The architecture around the village is very beautiful. Take a walk around the areas paying particular attention to the gardens and yards between the buildings. I guess when you are paying premium to love in the area you want to maximize your space so its amazing what people do make space to sit and relax. Enjoy!
Eh, not a lot to see but for diehard fans of the show its worth a quick detour from Greenwich visit. Its not the easiest to spot but theres generally a couple people point cameras randomly at an apartment corner. I like this area though, so worth a visit for the village vibe alone.

2022-06-15Lot of people come by to visit this place. This is a famous apartment which is shown in the series F.R.I.E.N.D.S and it is near 9th street the area around is beautiful too. There is a cafe right below the apartment and it is busy most of the time so if you are planning to eat there i would suggest to make reservations

2022-02-17Aside from its cultural significance, its an elegant apartment building right in the heart of the Village. The restaurant on the bottom floor is airy and warm, full of mesmerizing good. A must see if youre in the Village.

2022-06-17If youve watched Friends, youll recognize this right away. It brings back a ton of memories from the show even though you really only see it in transition from scene to scene.Fun place to sightspot!

2022-06-20If it was in a dull part of NYC Id never come to see only this. But, Friends apartment is in one of the loveliest parts - in the Greenwich Village picturesque area. So, it was just a quick photo op, youll recognize the bldg from the show, and even if you dont youll see people in front taking pics.

2022-04-20If you are a fan of f.r.i.e.n.d.s then this is a place to must go! But if not, then it is just a regular apartment in a one way road with a restaurant underneath. I wonder how much does it cost to rent at this place.

2022-05-22This is a short walk from Washington Square Park. If youre a Friends fan like me, then youll recognize this place immediately. This served as the apartment for the Friends TV show. Super nostalgic to be and take a few pictures.

2022-04-23Quiet disappointing. It’s just the „house“ from outside. There are a couple of much more beautiful buildings around the corner (which is the only reason for the 2nd star since you can discover other beautiful buildings). Wouldn’t recommend a visit

2022-05-19Check out the apartment shot that was used in friends tv show. Its cool one time visit but nothing more than grab a pic and off you go. There is a restaurant underneath the building so it wont be like the original shot but worth the visit to relive memories.

2022-06-04This is the exterior of Friends’ apartment, in the heart of the West Village. The interior is not the one you saw on TV, that’s staged in a studio. However, great to take a picture and walk around to see some of the places we are all so familiar with

2022-01-11Who doesn’t know the famous tv show. Although this monica’s apartment here in newyork doesn’t have any set properties shown in the show inside , just the road name is enough to stop by. There were lot of people standing opposite to it and clicking pictures. There is even an coffee shop beneath the building
