What a wonderful Mexican spot in Astoria. The chimichanga is fantastic with a delightfully flaky tortilla. Make sure to get the spicey sauces, they are both excellent. I have also tried the Salmon with Mushroom sauce which was cooked perfectly and delicious. Frijolitos will be my go-to Mexican from now on.
Absolutely 10/10 local family owned Mexican restaurant. Mole was the best I’ve had! Gauc couldn’t be better. Will absolutely be going back and making this my go to Mexican spot in Astoria. Service was fantastic, we felt so welcomed and warm. We also had to tostadas, and michelata. Delicious!
We decided to celebrate my dads birthday at this local restaurant in Astoria, really, for being new to the airline, it has excellent service, Eduardo is a full-fledged host, and not to mention the food, authentic Mexican food, delicious!! You can see the work in your kitchen and your fresh products. We would definitely return with my family

2022-09-03Owner is incredibly friendly. This is a family-owned restaurant more oriented toward Mexican food, not Tex Mex. Vibe is local, clean and pleasant. They have $3 tacos from 2pm-4pm (?) sometimes, as well as a brunch menu on weekends (chilaquiles were great!).All the food is nicely prepared, delicious, and reasonably priced. Birria tacos have been our favorite taco so far out of their multiple options. Gracias, Eduardo!

2022-08-06This place is criminally-underrated. Great ambience. The owner is the kindest host you’ll meet. And the food is impeccable. Best tacos in NYC! Try the cochinita pibil, birria, or tinga. You will not regret coming here!

2022-05-24This is excellent Mexican food! Best tacos I’ve ever had. Everything was very fresh and you can tell the menu is well thought out. The owner Eduardo took great care of us and it was awesome how much pride he and his family have for the food they prepare. Highly recommend this spot!

2022-07-30Been looking for a Mexican spot like this in NYC for years. The food is so so good! Two or three bites into the nachos I knew this place was going beyond my NY list and onto my All Time list. Great atmosphere and dining experience as well. Loved the warm & friendly care we received from the owner Eduardo. He’s proud of his food and he should be!

2022-07-19Frijolito’s has some of the best Mexican food I’ve ever had. Everything I’ve tried - the chimichanga, tacos, enchiladas, fajitas, and guacamole- has been exceptionally delicious. And the owner is so friendly and clearly puts a lot of love into the food!

2022-09-02That was delicious and already planning our next visit. The guac was super tasty, the enchiladas had a fantastic verde sauce, and the burrito was as a burrito should be: huge and SO GOOD!Our server was so accommodating and made us feel like we were eating at his home. And that salsa picante was muy picante!Really loved it. 2022-06-24What a hidden gem! Had the chips and guacamole, hands down the best guacamole we’ve ever had. It was so creamy and smooth! Delicious. For entree, we had the chicken fajitas and camarones Al mojo de ajo (garlic shrimp with rice), both were super flavorful and delicious. We’ll definitely be back! Service was excellent and super friendly! Try this place, you wont regret it.

2022-06-01Shrimp. The place is known for their variety of tasty shrimp dishes, ranging from ceviche to camarones a la diabla. You could just tell that the shrimp was fresh too. And honestly, the hospitality we received complimented the food so much more. We got a chance to meet Eduardo, the owner. Such a humble, positive and energetic guy. He made sure to make us feel at home and gave us excellent service. Honestly, it was just really great overall. And we hear the other dishes are really captivating too, like their mole or picadito. We will definitely be back.
