I interviewed several companies before chosing this one. Madeline is super responsive and knowledgeable in addition to being a lovely person. Her staff is wonderful. The sale was very successful as a result of her efforts to promote it. I would highly recommend this business and would not ever use another one.

Madeleine Winn, the woman running Full of Surprizes Tag Sales is a remarkable, honest, hard working human being. I had the very difficult job of selling my parents home and single-handedly packing up an entire house of countless collections of art, China, furniture... to name a few. Hard physically, harder emotionally....Madeleine and her incredible crew, came in like the Cat In The Hat and took care of every single thing ... with compassion and great care. They sold 98% of my parents home successfully and seamlessly! On top of that, Madeleine walked me through the experience of an online auction and on the final night of the auction , she seemed just as excited as me and my family to see the activity and success of the sales. She’s a great business woman with a heart and soul. My entire family was so pleased w the results and most importantly, she helped me tackle an overwhelming project ... Full Of Surprzes is one of the most organized and professionally run companies I have ever dealt with. At the helm of this company is Madeline Winn who is meticulous, organized and a perfectionist. The auction went seamlessly and everyone in the company worked together as a well oiled machine. Madeline has a refined eye and when unsure, she researched completely. You never have to worry about authenticity. I have already referred her company to others and will continue to refer and use her myself. I was a bit apprehensive about the whole tag sale idea, but I was quite happy to work with Madeline and her team. They were very professional throughout the process, and the sale went much better than I expected. It is interesting to see all the different people come for your household items, and it can be disappointing what does not sell, or at what prices, but Madeline and her team did a great job, and I would strongly recommend them.
Our Estate/Tag sale done by Madeline Winn was Full of Surprizes! Madeline & her staff are fabulous & made the experience so easy. Their set up is great, their salesmanship & calm & pleasant demeanor made the atmosphere for the 2 day sale effortless on our part. We were virtually cleaned out. Madeline did an outstanding job for us. She has a great following of loyal customers some of whom lined up outside our house beginning the night before (sleeping in cars!). Her marketing was spot on. With her husband Bob and staff they organized our house expertly a few days beforehand and arrived early the morning of our sale (btw, she has a great staff). And they did a great job cleaning up so that the burden didn’t fall on us. By the time the sale started cars were lined up around the block and it remained that way throughout the day. Madeline also was “working the phones” during and after the sale (as well as on the day after) to arrange movers to pick up furniture and other items, and to finalize sales with interested buyers.We highly recommend Full of Surprizes.
Madeline, her husband and the staff were excellent to work with. I had my tag sale this weekend and am thrilled the way they conducted it from beginning to end. The set up was excellent and the staff that ran the sale was excellent. We had a huge turnout and we are very happy with the results. I would definitely use her company again if the situation arises.
From start to finish Madeline and her team were a pleasure to work with. She also has an incredible network of dealers - we actually had one dealer who arrived the night before and slept in his car. The sale was a big success. We had a lot less work, and made a lot more money, than we ever expected.

Cleaning through a 90 year old’s house with all there is , and making it presentable for sale was wonderful. They made more money than we anticipated. The signage was excellent and the parking was done well. Madeline really made what is an overwhelming task, a lot more doable. Ive been going to tag sales and estate sales for a few years now and have found Full of Surprises to be the best company out there. They seem to always have the best houses in the best neighborhoods.Madeline and the rest of the crew are extremely helpful and very pleasant to deal with. From a well-organized website to The last details at the sale itself they are extremely organized. Everything is clearly marked with suggested sale prices but there always seems to be a bit of wiggle room for bargaining.I attended a sale in Woodbury after seeing a photo of a fireplace tool set that I was interested in. When I got to the sale there was a not for sale sign on it. I mentioned this to Madeline and she must have seen the disappointment on my face. She immediately offered to call the owner to see if anything could be done. After a few minutes on the phone with the owner I was happily walking out with a reasonably priced purchase. This is the type of customer service and caring that you can expect from this group. Its also the reason why I am on their email list and a repeat customer.
In the midst of a pandemic, when everything could have gone so wrong with my tag sale, Madeline’s professionalism and grace under pressure took over, making everything absolutely right!She expeditiously switched gears from an “in house” tag sale to an “on line” auction while under quarantine. Called for an assessment and was immediately asked if I had fine china or oil paintings, in addition to the furniture, antiques, and crystal I had mentioned. When I said no, I was informed my sale would not be “high end” enough. I later found out the same was said to friends of ours that used this service. The whole time they were made to felt that Madeline was doing them a favor by taking their sale and this tactic was used to try to upcharge. I’ll take my business elsewhere.

Stumbled upon Madeline and her team late one hot Saturday afternoon. Even though it was 3:30 and the sale was over at 4, her team was helpful, still had a sence of humor, and treated me with the utmost respect (although I was dressed like a slob to be honest).Madeline is an absolute pleasure to do business with and She has a fantastic team she works with. One lady on her team in particular (I wish I knew her name) was great to work with and although they were set to close, helped me make a wonderful purchase and stunning addition to my dining room.The quality of the merchandise at this sale far exceedes the merchandise peddled by other estate sale organizers on Long Island. These were exceptional items and the prices asked were fair. Everything was clearly marked with the price, and laid out for easy access. In addition, the items were clean.I have been to other Long Island firms tag sales, that have a rude and disintented staff. THIS IS FAR FROM THE CASE WITH MADELINE AND HER TEAM. I do not often post reviews online, but I was so impressed with Madeline and Bob Winn, I felt that doing so would be helpful to others. I recently had a circumstance that required me to very quickly find a vehicle for my daughter who is a volunteer EMT. I had received emails from “Full of Surprizes” and recollected seeing a vehicle in an upcoming sale which would suit my daughters needs. I contacted Madeline prior to the sale and offerred to purchase it in cash — she said “sorry, I’d love to take your money, but we have already advertised this vehicle and it wouldn’t be fair to other buyers that come to our sales.” Not what I was hoping to hear, but, seriously — that’s INTEGRITY! Soooooo, long story short, I got to the sale at 4AM and was one of the first in line. And yes, I did ultimately succeed in purchasing the vehicle. The price was ‘good,’ not a steal, but very fair and a deal that I feel was a win-win for all involved. These days, integrity is in short supply, so when you come across it, pay attention, these are people you want to do business with. Thanks Madeline, you folks work hard and it’s showing!

I have never encountered a sales person who instead of selling you an item, takes it out of your cart and starts re shelving it, because she doesnt want to negotiate prices. She might as well just sit in the corner and not do anything, and let the boss yell at you for not making a sale.Last year I encountered the same sales person, she did not remember me, but she was making judgmental comments about customers as they left the sale empty handed. I guess Im invisible when I am standing there listening to your high society rant.I have worked retail and an employee like this would have been handed their walking papers the first week of employment.
I bought these 2 paintings they had written with the artist name on a tag sale label. I bought the paintings because of the artist. After I bought them I found out the artist did not draw them and they were Chinese reproductions worth half what I paid.. I emailed them and they did not respond. I saw them at their next sale and she agreed she made a mistake and it wasnt the artist but made no offer to correct her mistake. Not very professional.

2022-02-09Moving from a house to an apartment after collecting a lifetime of furniture and stuff can be a very daunting. How to give other people the pleasure of enjoying things that you no longer have the room for or need is one of the big dilemmas. Madeline, Bob and their team are professional, organized and very knowledgable. I was very impressed with how smoothly the whole operation went. Starting with the first step of taking photographs to the deliveries at the end. I could not have been happier.

2020-08-14Working with Madeline from Full of Surprizes was one of the most exciting and fulfilling experiences for my family. As we were saying goodbye to our family home filled with so many memories and personal belongings and transitioning to a downsizing arrangement, we needed help selling the majority of what filled our home. In came Madeline, ready to conquer no small task.Madeline came in to analyze our 8,000+ square foot home, and reviewed what would be valuable to her clientele, and let me tell you, it was a lot. Madeline worked for 3 whole days to organize the items for our estate sale auction. She took representative photos and provide accurate descriptions for over 350 items. She is one of the hardest workers I have ever seen.Once the week long auction kicked off, Madeline consistently calmed our nerves with how things would go. There were times in the beginning we had our doubts, we thought items that were so meaningful to us were being undervalued, but she reassured us that once we were nearing the end of the auction, things would skyrocket. She definitely knows her business and she was right! Everything in the sale went, except for our kitchen table, which actually worked in our favor because we would have had no place to eat in our new home. She completely exceeded our expectations.Not only was the estate sale auction a success, the pickup for all of the lots was seamless. Madeline and her team organized all of the lots in such a strategic way that was so fun to watch! We lived on a private road that is hard to find, and is a single lane road that is even harder to navigate with a lot of people. Each lot winner had a scheduled pick up time and was provided excellent instructions to find our home. Over the two days, every winner picked up their items and it was a flawless execution given the prep Madeline and her team did to organize the sale.I am so very grateful to Madeline and Full of Surprizes for what they achieved through our estate sale auction. There is no way I would have been able to handle something like this on my own. She and her team were so capable, I didn’t even have to do anything throughout the whole process. I will recommend Madeline time and time again to friends and family who are in need of selling through an estate sale, or interested in participating in the auction. She is a reputable and hardworking woman who helped my family tremendously. We are sincerely grateful for her!!
