If you have trouble looking for clothing sized big and tall at a reasonable price, look no further. Really great prices, clean, excellent customer service, and organized. Cheyenne was very helpful and so informational. She gave me a detailed description of all the discounts Gabes offer as well as the rewards program (definitely sign up for rewards program itll save you MORE money). This store is now my go to!
Been going to Gabs for years in PA. Super happy they opened up a few in Buffalo NY. You can definitely save some money in these stores on some brand names… It’s like going to Burlingtons or TJ Maxx but 100 times better.. With lower prices.. But just remember, to shop in this type of place you need some time dig through the racks to find what your looking for as far as clothes.. They carry a bit of everything… I enjoy shopping in Gabs and they are open to 10pm, that’s Awesome…
I former cashier at Gabe’s I had to work with Karen, the Front End Worker, and she constantly yelled at me and belittled me for every little mistake I made. She never complimented anything I did after working there since before the stores Grand Opening. Although it is a nice store, and good buys, The Employment & Management is so disorganized. They didn’t have my availability on file which only allowed me to work 4 hours once a week. When I got the job, I signed a bunch of papers and my availability was one of them, so how is it possible it’s not on file? I think they knew what they were doing and they wanted me to leave because most of the managers were only rude to me, not anyone else. Gabe’s was a fine place to work at first until the managers kept quitting (which says a lot) and we didn’t have any main person running the store. That’s when things got really disorganized. I mean, who knows, the store might change after it gets proper management, but as of right now, it’s a mess. The schedule would change mid week when the employees were off of work and they didn’t know that they were supposed to work. The schedule was only on paper in the store, not online, so the employees would have to walk into the store on their days off and see the schedule. I got a new job and I quit as of Friday, October 22nd. Let me tell you, I have never felt more free. That job was so restricted and the employees weren’t aloud to do anything. We had to have a manager do it for us. As an employee, we should be able to use the phone to answer people who were calling, and we should’ve been aloud to page other employees when we needed them. We shouldn’t have to wait for a managers okay. I just thought I would let you know as a former employee of Gabe’s how things really went down.
I normally dont post bad reviews but this situation was uncalled for. I came in to return a clothing item i purchased only a few days prior and still had the receipt. I waited in line for an available cashier. I came up to the cashier named Susan and gave her the receipt and stated i just wanted to exchange the clothing item for just a smaller size. She proceeded to tell me i didnt have the price tag so i couldnt exchange it at all. But if you look at the receipt it states you just need receipt to do a return, exchange or refund. She than gets short with me has another cashier come over to help her because she says she is doing me a favor. I continue to mention the fine print on the receipt and she than begins to wave and shush me. When i state who she was shushing she stated im shushing you be quiet. The other cashier states you need to shut up because you are babbling that is when i lost my stuff. I was not rude or ignorant to them up until that point plus your in customer service not back on the block.... come with some respect. Susan and that other cashier need to fired because they are not professional and never will be.
Great store but their one employee needs to go! She’s rude. She throws your items in the bag. I’ve been here several times and only an issue with her. I’m not sure how she hasn’t been fired considering the rest of the employees are so friendly . I’ll tell ya one thing the next time I get her….she will be getting an ear full if she don’t cut the attitude! Come on Gabes….get rid of nasty ignorant employees!
The prices are amazing and if you take your time and look you can find some great deals. Some of the employees were loud and obnoxious and stood in your way when you were clearly looking at items. That part I could do without. Also the selection of mens shoes was truly awful. For the most part it was a good experience.
I visited Gabes in Erie, PA previously and was just waiting for them to open up a store in WNY so I didnt have to make the drive for it. Since this store was so good, it was worth the drive to Erie. I can say this store definitely did not disappoint and the prices were the same as the prices in Erie!! Massive store filled with all kinds of merchandise. Even though I went only a couple days after opening, the store did not look shopped or ransacked and was clearly freshly stocked. This is exactly the type of store the WNY area needs. I am going to make plans to eventually visit all 3 of them.
I like the store it’s very nice and modern but I wish it was open to the mall. The three Gabes stores in buffalo have really helped vacant plazas become popular so this location is really helping the struggling boulevard mall. It should be open to the mall so the mall can get busier. I wish the 2nd floor was open too that would be cool. but it’s a very nice store with a wide selection of items
Store is not very clean, and the staff couldnt be more disinterested in being there. The cashier was standing there doing nothing and didnt call us to be cashed out..the manager had to say something to them to get their attention. Horrible experience for my first time there. Will not be returning.
Return policy is horrible. Doesn’t state on the receipt, but no returns or exchanges if you take the tag off your clothes. Even with the receipt if the tags aren’t attached they will not take it back. Please make this make sense in the clothing industry. Highly unsatisfied.

2022-07-01As a healthcare worker I had been given good reviews about this store and their wide selection of scubs. Im super small and it is hard for me to find pants that fit. I was s happy to find a lot of good fitting ones here. The scrubs were priced fairly and the quality was amazing. The stuff was also super nice and helpful.

2022-05-16Some amazing deals among a lot of other stuff. You will need to spend some time pursuing through the giant store - but the deals are there! Do try things on because, like any department stores with many brands, the fits do vary among brands/styles.

2022-06-19I updating my review. I have found some random good deals and they have unique interesting finds. I found really cute Ralph Lauren pjs and cool shoes. The home decor section is awesome if you dont care to break the bank. The people that work there are pleasant and willing to help. The store is huge.

2022-04-10While shopping I only seen 2 employees on the floor. The line to cash out was very long..only 3 cashiers. Our cashier was friendly. Found lots of good deals.Updated..4/9/22. Still found lots of good deals. Cashier was very friendly. Before they had dividers at the registers. One employee had their mask on.

2022-05-09I went in for the first time to take a look around and I noticed they had Nivea body wash and it was only 3.99 I said to myself wow thats a good price because I use Nivea body wash and when I got home and looked at my other bottles of Nivea it was completely different like a knockoff version I was not happy and I will not be shopping there again.

2022-04-19Obviously understaffed. Returns are taken in the same line as purchases. Poor practice to queue unhappy people with those who are making purchases, also return transactions take longer. Ill choose to shop at a better organized store.

2021-11-16Great store and location. Its always clean and well organized. Clothes are not crowded on the racks so you can truly see what is there. Always fully stocked. Ive been there at least 5 times since it opened. Definitely a life saver for back to school shopping. Prices are definitely affordable. I frequent the Amherst location.
