Gallery Salon is the most special place in Rochester. I get my hair and my nails done here, they always have local artists work on the walls and out to buy, and completely transformed for Covid restrictions seamlessly. It also helps that everyone that works there is so kind and thoughtful.I also go married on Halloween and three of their awesome stylists came out to do hair for the wedding. These women did such a fantastic job with the hair and completed 15 women’s hair in record time! As the bride I never felt more beautiful than I did that day! This salon is so unique and special, a complete gem! Highly recommend for hair styling, nails, and wedding hairstyling ❤️
I’ve been a Gallery customer since the beginning and never consider going anywhere else. The staff are welcoming and professional, the salon is clean and fabulously decorated, and I get lots of compliments on my hair style. It was so reassuring that Erika clearly communicated what the procedures and precautions would be when the salon first reopened after the shut-down; I felt comfortable and safe getting my long overdue haircut. Gallery rocks!
I love Gallery Salon. I have always felt welcomed and cared for. I love that Gallery bases their prices on length of hair and not by gender like most salons. And I’m very happy to support them. I’m sad to see the 1 star review that was posted by someone that couldn’t follow necessary guidelines that have been made clear and put into place by the salon due to the pandemic. I have been a client at Gallery for about 5 years now. I’ve always felt welcome, valued and received excellent care and attention. Gallery has handled Covid safety better than any other business I’ve seen. The team has done so much to make me feel safe, while also ensuring the experience is still enjoyable. I get constant compliments on my hair and nails! Many of my friends also started going here after seeing how great my nails and hair looked. This is one of the most amazing salons Ive been too, and have never felt more welcome than when I enter the doors at Gallery. Ive been blessed to work with many of the staff members and they are some of the most amazing folks in the city. The atmosphere is top notch and the owner, Erika, has worked so diligently to bring the heart of Rochester to life inside of Gallery. The rotation of local artists on the walls and shelves is a beautiful spotlight on the gems inside our city.The staff are some of the kindest, sincerest, caring and talented professionals Ive ever encountered. They truly take care of their clients no matter the service. Ive worked with a number of their staff, and have never had a bad experience. From the brilliant hair stylists, to the magical nail techs, and wonderful front desk staff, I really feel like family when I go in.Lets chat COVID regulations. We all know hair salons and stylists have had many hoops to jump through to reopen and remain open. And Erika and the Gallery staff have done everything in their power to protect their staff and their clients while still being able to provide exemplary service. I felt so comfortable going in and thankful that they were able to stay open for their clients.Im also pretty sure I had the best haircut of my life on my recent visit with Melissa. I put all my trust in her expertise in finding a color and cut that would embody my hair goals, but would fit me as a person. And as a Hispanic woman with minimal hair styling skills, I needed some help. And she nailed it. I have gone to Gallery Salon since it’s inception. I always receive a reminder call. Every time I have gone in I have always been greeted with a smile and treated with kindness. The Salon is clean, they have wonderful products to choose from, everything I could possibly need. Since their re-opening during the pandemic, I was very impressed with the protocol the owner set in place. She has met all the safety measures and I feel extremely safe when I go in. I am a huge fan and will be a Gallery client forever!
I just had my hair done at Gallery Salon for the first time with Kendra, and was super impressed. My stylist for the past 10+ years recently moved so I was a little nervous about finding someone new. Kendra was great, and really took her time to make sure she understood what I wanted I love the way my hair turned out, and am looking forward to going back. The salon very nice, and you could tell that they really took all the necessary covid-19 precautions to keep their staff and clients safe. I would highly recommend!
Ive been a patron of Gallery Salon for about a decade. Ive never had a bad experience and even had my bridal hair done (beautifully) by Erika! Ive always felt extremely comfortable being my weird self here, whether Im getting my nails or hair done. Whenever anyone asks me about my nails (and they do A LOT) Im quick to recommend any and all of the incredible nail artists!
Love love love, everyone was so nice. The salon was clean and Took every proper precaution to keep everyone safe. I walked in and they took my temperature and sanitized my hand. My stylist Tiffany was so sweet and really made sure I loved my hair. She did an amazing job. Everything was very clean and everyone respected the guidelines set. Overall I had a great experience and will definitely come back to this salon.
I’ve been going to Gallery Salon for almost 5 year now to see Kendra for all my hair care needs, and I have had just the most wonderful experience every single time I enter the building. Sometimes I go way too long before getting my hair touched up/cut, but it’s like I never left once I arrive! I’m always greeted with smiling faces and before COVID, sometimes even hugs.The staff are always super friendly and welcoming, and I know every time I’ve gotten my hair colored, everyone in the building went out of their way to tell me how great it looked(ALL thanks to Kendra). Despite several other recommendations from friends and family, I know the only place for me and my hair, is Gallery! Absolutely love this place! Never have had my nails done before in my entire life and this was a wonderful experience. I was a little nervous and didn’t know what to expect but immediately felt comfortable. Gallery Salon is very professional, clean, warm and welcoming. My nail technician D was amazing! I had a design that I really wanted and she was able to hand paint it on my nails, true artistry! Also the conversation was fabulous and when I was nervous about my nails being sanded because I hate the feeling she both calmed me down and distracted me by talking about fun things. Let’s just say I’ve now had my nails done more than once! Highly recommend!
I have been going to Gallery since they opened and have had nothing but positive experiences. I have always LOVED my hair and anytime I have gotten a gel manicure it lasts longer than anywhere else I’ve gotten them done. The staff is always so warm, welcoming, knowledgeable, and professional. Plus, seeing all the different artwork they have displayed is an added bonus!Their COVID policies have made me feel nothing but safe. I have been pretty strict about social distancing and I felt so comfortable being there. I love that they have taken so many precautions to keep everyone safe.

Gallery Salon is the only place Ill go for a haircut in Rochester! The atmosphere is light and positive, and the staff are warm and friendly. From diversifying their staff and services to implementing non-gendered pricing, I have seen conscious efforts over the years to make sure Gallery is a welcome and supportive place for all women. Recently, I have been extremely impressed by their efforts to make it a safe and comfortable space during the Covid-19 times.
I got my nails done every 10-15 days at Gallery by Halley for 3 years. The only reason I stopped was because I moved away from Rochester. I always got compliments on my unique, hand painted, gel manicures. My husband even got a couple pedicures with me!I really enjoyed seeing new local art, jewelry, vintage clothing, and other one-off pieces almost every time I went in. I have a super cute army jacket, several pair of handmade sunglasses, and a painting from Gallerys displays.I highly recommend Gallery for their hair & nail services as well as their showcase of local artisan & vintage products!

Erika has been doing my hair for 20+ years. I have watched her cultivate not only her craft, but her business, staff and clientele. Her space is, and always has been, welcoming, diversified, professional and above all Gallery Salon puts their clients first. They are friendly, the atmosphere is always positive and open. Not only do they focus on the salon services, they are also heavily community involved and enormous supporters of local businesses and artists. I could go on and on about the positives of this place, but I would run out of room.COVID-19 has placed so many restrictions on businesses, but the salon industry has some of the toughest regulations. Their licenses are at stake and I know, personally, the amount of time, effort and resources Erika and the Gallery Salon staff put forth to open safely, for the staff and clients. As clients, and living in NY, we are aware of what the rules are, and we should be able to follow the minimal requirements asked of us, even though it is not ideal. Everyone is really doing everything they can to ensure a safe, and continued positive experience. KEEP UP YOUR FANTASTIC WORK!I would like to address a comment on a previous review regarding discrimination based on ethnicity. To anyone out there that has ever, or never, been to Gallery Salon let me assure you, they would NEVER discrimate against anyone for anything. This place could not be MORE welcoming to EVERYONE no matter who you are! It is one of the basic fundamentals of the business that Erika created years ago and continues today.The experience at Gallery Salon is top notch! I’m so glad I found my way back to Gallery Salon! It’s not just a hair appointment, it’s a whole experience. It’s such a cool and eclectic space, so warm and welcoming to all. I was seriously saying to myself today, that this is the haircut I’ve been waiting for my entire life. I’m 6 weeks in this cut, I go back next week for another. I’ve ways read that if you have a great cut, the “in between” parts shouldn’t be bad.. it should still look just as amazing weeks later as it does the day you walk out of the salon (well, maybe 2nd day is a better comparison, because I never style it as well as Tiffany!) BUT you get my drift. I’ve never loved my hair cut as much as I do now. This is seriously the best salon in Rochester. Looking forward to next week when I get to go back!

I’ve been seeing Halley at Gallery for a little over three years. (Nailzzz.) The staff at Gallery are always a highlight of my week, even now during COVID-19.While I miss sitting alongside other clients and techs to chat and laugh with, as well as interacting with the guest services staff - I have been grateful for and impressed with the safety precautions that the salon has put in place.I feel safe in my decision to return to Gallery for nail services, with face masks, temperature monitoring, health screening forms, social distancing, plexiglass partitions, and frequent hand-sanitizing breaks.
I have super long, thick hair and I have never gotten a better hair cut than I have here. Erika cuts it perfect every time. Never needed a touch up and I feel like a million dollars each time I walk out that door.Spotlessly clean, wonderful staff, amazing decor and style. Cannot say enough good things!

Their number one priority is safety followed by the commitment to ensuring you leave the place more beautiful than when you came in. I’ve been going to Gallery for over a year, working with Melissa for my hair and Bethany for my nails. Melissa quite literally saved my hair from the attack of the floof, and always listens to what I want and helps me get to what I am looking for. I have been back since the Covid precautions and felt very safe, it was easy to keep my mask on and they were great about filling me in on the protocols. I felt very comfortable, and had an excellent experience.Bethany is a star with nails. She helped me grow my nails, come up with some killer designs and is always such a fun person to hang with when getting them done. The gel that they use there doesn’t make my nails brittle and I’ve loved having them!Every front desk person I’ve interacted with there has been friendly, knowledgeable and so much fun to be around. Erika at Gallery Salon has been cutting my hair for 12 years. I always leave happy and get many compliments on my hair. Erika and Angela offer good advice about what to do, or not do, with my hair in order to get it to look the way I want it to. They also listen to exactly how I want it cut, and make suggestions without ever overriding what I want. Perhaps even more important, though, is the relaxed and comfortable atmosphere that is part of Gallery Salon. There have been many occasions when I have had to bring my children along with me to appointments. My kids have always been welcome there and treated kindly by all the employees. When it was time for each of my children to start getting haircuts, it was the only place I would think of taking them. Erika, Nicole, Angela, and Amanda have helped them to feel comfortable with first hair cuts, been patient with their idiosynchrocies, and made my oldest child feel great about donating her hair two different times!Gallery Salon is a great place to go for a haircut. Ive been to gallery 2 times to see tiffany for cut and color. My hair was damaged and way too short because of the damage. Since seeing tiffany it has grown extremely quickly and healthily!!! Not only that, but she does exactly what i am envisioning, which I think is hard to find in a hairdresser. The service has always been great and I always feel great walking out!

I have been a client of Erikas for 10 years. Her professionalism is stellar! Her staff has alway gone over and above to make all clients experience perfect. I had my first appointment recently since Covid Lock down and the way Erika and her staff have addressed the procedures are amazing. Safety and equality for clients is always at the top of the list.
This salon and especially the owner Erika is spot on with professionalism, inclusive clientele and most of all a caring and compassionate staff. It would be almost impossible to find anyone who KNOWS Erika that would or could say anything negative about her. I am beyond words that someone could be so nasty and untruthful in a review. There is a place for you to go and get services elsewhere for sure....but God help the stylist that has to deal with you!!!!
Erika has been my stylist for decades- she keeps up with my crazy ideas and manages to keep up on trends while running a business. Watching the salon transition to an educational program has been inspiring.I also treat myself to Manis and Pedis whenever I can squeeze in the time, and its magical everytime.Erika supports small local businesses by selling their wares and showcasing art.With COVID restrictions, service is very different but I felt safe the entire time I was there. All protocols seemed to be met and achieved with minimal affect on the overall relaxing experience of going to the salon!

Love this place!! Went in and i had no clue what i wanted to do with my hair. I told the stylist I wanted something new and convenient as a new mom. I love my hair! It was a big change and i just love it.
Sam took care of my hair and it was awesome! I had blonde then blue and purple and green added. It was an under side color so you saw it most when my hair was up. It lasted a long time and looked great for months. I love the decor in Gallery and hope they get to have events in the future again. I was there for 3 long hours, scheduled my upcoming appointment with the front desk employee.Erica the owner and a additional employee were also at the front desk( no social distancing ) A week later I receive a TEXT from the hair tech stating that I took my mask down/ off a few times, touched products in the waiting area that had a sign” don’t touch” and threw a paper towel intentionally in my Tech station.Not only do it feel judged and discriminated. It’s my 1st time getting a cut with the mask on, hair kept getting in. My problem with this decision is that according to Erika , herself, her employee and clients made complaints about my mask. So for 3 hours no one approached me to remind me to keep on. So the salon was ok with what I was doing as long as I paid. Suggestions for business owner, if merchandise can’t be touch then remove it from the waiting area. Oh forgot to mention, my hair dresser borrowed a blow dryer from her co worker so that I can diffuse my own hair. Yeah but don’t touch products, double standards you think 🤔 I’mThis accusation is where I really understood that I was being singled out. I purposely threw a paper towel in the work station. Waow is it because I’m the only Latina client at the moment (never seen another Latina client in 5 years). My theory, the salon would rather get rid of the Latina that all the Caucasian were complaining about instead of jeopardizing the clientele.During my visit I saw another client take her mask off. 3 or more people gathering at the front desk, no social distancing, staff not changing their gloves for the entire 3 hours. But I’m not following COVID guidelines!!!!
Love this place. My pedicure was awesome, and it was no trouble changing from a regular pedicure to a gel pedicure. Haley is super sweet and easy to talk to. Plus, I love all the locally made gifts there!
OMG! The staff was friendly and attentive, the service was amazing and I even left with a little goodie bag! Unbelievable! If you care about yourself(and you should because youre great) you should definitely take yourself to the Gallery Salon!
I go see Bethany about every 2-3 weeks for gel nails and she is amazing! Tidy, efficient, friendly, creative. She’s always upbeat and easy to talk to. Would highly recommend her 😁
Melissa at Gallery is so effing talented. I have been mutilated many times, at other salons.... Melissa transformed my hair, and I couldn’t live without her creativity! The front desk staff is cool AF. Keep roc’ing the ROC women! ❤️
I have been going to Gallery for 10 years! Ive had several different stylist and have loved them all! As far as price? Tell me where else youre getting such amazing service and quality at such a low price! I hate to spend money on myself, let alone on hair, but have never batted an eye at their pricing, it is very fair!
I won’t be coming again here, so sorry. First and last time. I asked for a bob cut but I ended up with a different hai cut. The store is amazing the way it looks. I paid for the service they did on my hair but not got satisfied. Also I ended up with my skin painted.
This is such a cute salon with an amazing atmosphere! Christina is a miracle worker, she completely transformed my uneven haircut and dry drab hair into a work of art! I would highly recommend her, and will definitely be back soon!
Gallery salon is great. The atmosphere is so inviting and the decor is beautiful. They support local art so its always a treat during your appointment! Everyone who works there truly loves to be there and are very friendly and personable!

Maybe in the minority but I am not impressed with this place. Looks like a burnt out building. Cement floors and cold looking with cheesy jewelry hanging around the waiting area. Not impressed with the girls that work there either. Seem aloof. I was also not pleased with my hair and ripped off as far as I am concerned. Watched the price go up $30.00 from what I paid the last time and still using the same operator. IT IS NOT RODEO DRIVE. It is Rochester NY with porkchops doing hair.I unfortunately will have to find another place to go for my hair. Not a happy camper. Very, very disappointing. Maybe Scott Miller is better?

Everyone who helped us was very friendly and accommodating, and my daughter received a gorgeous haircut from Annelise. The atmosphere at the salon is very welcoming, and I just really loved the whole vibe. We will definitely be back!

If the lot out front is full, two buildings down had a huge free lot you can easily find parking in.I LOVE the modern, clean aesthetic - so bright and inviting! Really cool decorations.The staff seems really great, too. Everyone was relaxed and friendly and it made me feel very comfortable. They very nicely pretended not to see me run into a couch in the waiting room. 😂😂I absolutely LOVE how Cate cut my hair, so I immediately set up an appointment for her to take care of my color, too! Im stoked to have found my new salon!!!

2021-01-05Today was my first visit to Gallery Salon. It was a wonderful experience! I called this morning and they were able to book me and my daughter appointments for this afternoon. There was plenty of parking in the lot by the salon. We called on arrival, then waited in our car until our stylist was ready. Masking and safety measures were required throughout our visit, and every precaution was taken to keep us safe. The staff was wonderful with me and with my preschool-aged daughter. They made us feel welcome, they accommodated her, and they worked hard to get our cuts just right based on pictures we brought with us. We will be going back!

2021-01-09I have been coming to Gallery Salon for the past 15 years and have always had a wonderful experience. Everyone is always so welcoming and kind and the service is top notch. Erika has been doing my hair since I was 4 and I always leave every appointment in love with the results. I also get my nails done by Halley at Gallery and can go up to 8 weeks with no lifting, chipping, or breaking with their gel manicure. Love this place so much!

2020-08-09Ive had my hair done by Erica (the owner) for a special event and she helped me brainstorm and executed perfectly.Since then Ive returned to have multiple gel manicures with Dee. I have learned to build in some extra time for the appointments as they sometimes take longer than expected, but I can also clearly see that its because they care about customer satisfaction, comfort, and doing the right thing. Dee had done some glamorous nails for me, but I included the picture of the fun ones she did for me for a trip to Brazil for Carnival, including a yellow/green ombre on the thumb!

2020-08-09Ive been going to Erika at Gallery Salon for over 14 years, and its by far the best salon experience Ive ever had. My hair is difficult to manage, and all my life stylists at other salons have made me feel like I was putting them out because my hair texture. Erika has never made me feel bad for having to spend a little extra time with my hair and she knows how to make it look fantastic. She is hilarious, also, and I truly look forward to each visit. Everyone at Gallery is awesome, kind, and professional. My daughter goes there and I have sent several people there, especially people who might feel a little nervous about going to the salon due to the way other stylists have made them feel in the past. When I went in recently I appreciated all the precautions/measures they were taking to keep people safe.

2022-01-21Truly one of the poorest run salons in the Rochester area. The parking is absolutely terrible and the salon while “cute” is very unorganized. I’ve brought my daughter here twice and we will not be returning. There’s clearly some serious issues with management and whoever is running this place.
