Garden Cafe is now part of my favorite’s list. The restaurant is all plant-based and delivers on the quality of the meals. I ordered an oat milk cappuccino to start. I ordered one of the daily specials: Potato Flautas which come with guac and salsa. The flavors are incredible together. The dish was well thought of. The staff were very polite and welcoming. A great experience in my visit to Woodstock.
This place got us with the all organic and locally sourced products. We started off with just a smoothie wound up getting two as well as their red bean sweet, potato, rice burger and the black been burrito after all that we had to go all the way with the brownie and the pistachio vanilla ice cream! This place really nocked it out of the park and they had a very quaint indoor seating and outdoor patio as well. The staff was super friendly and helpful.
I’m not vegan, but this is one of those vegan places where you won’t miss the meat! The people who work there are completely lovely. They helped me pick out everything I ordered and everything was great. I particularly recommend their sake cocktails and the vanilla cake is probably one of the best that I have ever had.
Friendly service by All. Especially Shane, his first day! Sat outside with our dog, Leilani. Tried many things. Enjoyed the Indian chickpea blinis! Exceptional. Also, tofu satay with peanut sauce very good. Red lentil enchilada entree, Bean burger good. Chickpea Wrap could have used a side dipping sauce. Rather dry. Did not care for side potatoes. Other than that we did enjoy side order of focaccia with olive oil, & brushchetta with artichoke, green olives.Thank you.
I am not a vegetarian or a vegan by any means, and this was my runners up choice as I had my sights set on a red meat meal. I am SO glad we ended up eating here! This was by far some of the best food I’ve ever had. I ordered the No noodle vegetable lasagna and nearly a week later I’m still thinking about it. I also got sample their chickpea pancakes and one of the apps. And my daughter was so excited about her GF pesto pasta and GF garlic bread. So delish!
One of the best restaurants I have been to! All vegan food, but extremely well flavored. The coffee and berry smoothie were both good. The Blinis and roasted cauliflower tacos were great. But oh my god the tofu Marsala with oyster mushrooms, asparagus and mashed potatoes was delicious! I am looking forward to eating here again. Some people talk about the cost, but for the quality of the food, it is extremely reasonable. We also had entertainment of a drum circle in the square while we were there.
OMG! The mushroom panini, the roasted potatoes, garlic bread and the pesto pasta was absolutely delightful to our tastebuds! There were colorful and fresh vegetables in abundance. Fresh fruit juice in the cocktails. Nice and friendly service! The cleaning process I watched made me want to come back asap, with my slight touch of OCD! Thank you for your accomadating staff, tasty food and clean establishment! There is love here and good energy!
It was my wife’s official birthday dinner with the in laws. My father in law has never been to a vegan restaurant. He enjoyed his rice and bean burrito with corn bread. My mother in law had the same meal and enjoyed it. My wife, the birthday girl had the daily garden bowl which she really enjoyed. We also had three appetizers one being the soup of the day, Asparagus & cashew bruschetta and focaccia bread. I ended up with my desert of a banana & strawberry with almond milk smoothie. The service and atmosphere were great. If you are in the area, we can highly suggest this place. Update July 7, 2018 we really enjoyed the outdoor dining and a perfect weather day.
Wonderful little gem of a place, cannot recommend it enough. By far the best food you can find in Woodstock, in a warm, friendly and cozy environment. Completely vegan, the food is great and so is the variety of dishes offered. The waitress is fun and friendly, everything is tasty, and their homemade focaccia really good. Juices and teas are a must try, and the decor and atmosphere are very cute and relaxed. If you are in Woodstock, definitely eat here.
Grateful to be able to sit down and enjoy The Mediterranean chickpea wrap. I was impressed and delighted ☺️The roasted potatoes with rosemary were delicious 💕The smoothie was vivacious 🧚🏼♀️Every single person I interacted with was incredibly kind and warm.Over all had a wonderful experience and I definitely recommend to those who support local plant based business and sustainability.Garden cafe is always a good idea while in Woodstock ☮️
We found this place by chance while driving in the middle of nowhere because I was hungry and typed, vegan into my Google maps app... thank you Google, youve changed our lives lol. Garden Cafe is an absolute gem of an experience. The people are wonderful here. The owner, Lia is such a warm and sweet woman and she truly cares about her customers and their experience. They have fresh juices here, Lee made us some great ones on our last visit. In the warmer months they have a GORGEOUS back yard you can dine in. Indoors is no less of an experience. Simple and modest but completely and utterly charming. The warm atmosphere both inside and out will capture you and make you feel as though you entered a beautifully laid out hobbit hole lol. THE FOOD IS ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! Now, lets be honest, not all vegan food is healthy and not all vegan food tastes good...Garden Cafe is both! Itll completely satisfy whatever your desire may be. Whether you want fresh, delicious, healthy vegan food or warm, savory vegan comfort food. From the soup to the dessert everything is on point. If nothing that Ive wrote above appeals to you then Ill give it to you short and sweet:My family and I drive over 2 hours from Queens, N.Y. just to eat here and its worth it every time.Shout out to, Kylla who was our server on this most recent visit, she was great in every regard!
The Garden Café Woodstock was some of the most accomodating businesses I had ever experienced. My friend and I had decided to split a meal and a drink at this lovely vegan café. We ordered the macro meal with tempeh and a banana latté. Both tasted incredible! They split our drink into two separate glasses and gave us two plates to share from and did it with no question and with a smile on their face. We were so grateful for how efficient their service was, and how sincerely accomodating their staff was. Thank you for the very personalized approach! I hope to visit you again one day!
We went to this place because it’s a dog friendly place but ended surprisingly good experience! The food is very fresh and amazing! The juice is all freshly blended and taste sooo good especially in a hot summer day. The mushroom feels like freshly picked up from backyard.I totally recommend this place!
Might be my favorite place to eat in America. Ive moved from France 6 years ago and ate in a lot of places here. This is the freshest food, I always feel great when I leave. Great juices. Beautiful seating area too. Affordable food that makes you feel amazing and full of energy.
Whenever we are in Woodstock, we always make sure to eat at the Garden Cafe. The food is flavorful, of high quality and large portions, and the restaurant has a nice atmosphere. The menu has so many creative dishes, and we have not tried something we have not liked. It is a must if you are in the area!
We were hiking in the area and happily found this fully vegan cafe. The menu is quite varied with plenty of light and hearty options. We ordered a miso veg soup, chickpea Shepards pie special, rice & sweet potato burger and a bread pudding. All dishes had excellent flavor and portions were aligned with the price. Unfortunately the burger bun and focaccia bread were too dry to eat. Service was friendly in a comfortable atmosphere. I would not hesitate to come back when were in the area again!
The food was so great we had to go back again and again! The cauliflower steak and Lentil Loaf are to die for. The Potato Flautas were also amazing! Would have loved to show photos but forgot; too busy eating the amazing food. This place really impressed. Friendly service, timely, clean, and comfortable. Can’t wait to go back.
Great place, great food! I love sitting outside tho just a comfortable inside. The food is great, its fresh, local produce prepared in interesting and delicious dishes. Our family loves coming here and its one of our favorite places to take our out-of-town guests. They have a great regular menu (the lasagna is great comfort food and one of my favorites) but I like to go with the daily specials most of the time. Either way, you cant go wrong. The Garden Cafe is a Woodstock must visit.
The experience here was phenomenal…from the staff, the food, the atmosphere. We would need to go at least 5 more times to try even half the stuff on the menu that we wanted to. Today we ordered two things off of the specials menu, including potato flautas and spinach tomato polenta, that were terrific. The OJ was delicious as well. Already planning our next trip to Woodstock with the main event being getting back here for more food!
Spent a few days in saugerties and Woodstock and discovered this restaurant. The food is delicious ! Not to mention outdoor seating for you and your furry friends in an adorable garden. Staff is excellent! Very friendly. The waitress even brought a cute water bowl with fresh water for my pup! Definitely recommend this place!
Their outdoor dining area is very comfortable and charming and their location in Woodstock is unbeatable: close to parking and right in the town center. Menu is great because it has a wide range of foods, from classic healthy and hearty vegan fare like garden bowls to more indulgent entrees and desserts like brownies and bread pudding. Worst part is looking at the menu and realizing you can’t eat everything.
This is one of the best vegan restaurants I’ve ever been to! And I’ve been to a ton as a live in NYC. We got juices and two specials, and they were so flavorful and filling ! We were highly impressed, and would definitely come here again. Friendly service as well, also we ate inside but the outside garden area looks beautiful. Overall so happy we tried this place out!
This place gets a 5⭐️s for sure!! To find an all vegan restaurant is already a treat for us when traveling. Add to that they were super accomodating with augmenting a menu item. Food was ready super fast and was so good. The Caesar salad was so creamy, burrito and burger on point. Desserts (also a huge treat to get out for dinner and vegan) also so good. Would very much go there again, keep up the great work. Sadly no photos of the food because we ate it up—too yummy.
This place is so unbelievably amazing. They clearly use the highest quality ingredients, CLEARLY make everything with so much love, and the environment is impeccable. My husband and I come as often as we can from Long Island. Even if you’re not vegan it is so worth it.
We absolutely LOVED the Garden Cafe. As a vegan couple we seek out vegan options at restaurants and are thrilled when we find a 100% plant based restaurant! The food was good for you but did not sacrifice any flavor! We ate two meals there in our short visit and took more food to go! We jokingly wondered if we could purchase a gallon of the Butternut Squash Soup and would have if it was an option!Due to Covid, they are only open for takeout. However, if you are bundled up enough and don’t mind the cold, you can sit outside in the garden and eat. They will bring your food in a to go bag out to you. We opted to eat in the garden with our dogs. The warm soup and hot sake cider kept us nice and warm! You can call and order your food ahead, but don’t miss the specials of the day! They have many special appetizers, entrees, desserts, ice creams and beverages! Our favorite thing was they allow you to bring your four legged family members in to place your order and there are bowls of water for them outside the restaurant and in the garden.Do not miss a chance to eat here! Even if you aren’t vegan, the food is exceptional and should not be missed!
This is our 3 time at the restaurant and it is hands down a Great Experience. The food is amazing, the drinks both alcoholic and non-alcoholic are so delicious. But above all the service is great. We had the great pleasure of speaking to the owner Lea and she was so nice. I did not even know that I was speaking to the owner until I looked it up afterwards. It was like talking to an old friend and listening to how proud she is of her daughter. The staff as a whole is attentive and professional. Its just a great vibe. Looking forward to going back in the future when we are in the area.
I love this place and Im not even a vegetarian! The food is so delicious and fresh and the staff is lovely. The menu has a variety of great selections. The restaurant is a nice space with cute vintage decor-the window displays is always eye catching. On warmer weather, Its nice to eat outside in the garden. Highly recommend.
Amazing find. My wife and I were in town for 1 evening. Randomly came across this café for supper. We were in rush to drive up to monastery, so only had time to order the appetizer. Right away we knew something was different about this place. Everyone in the staff was so friendly. It had a good vibe to the place. We end up having vegan quesadillas and let me tell you, it was the best quesadillas either one of us every had. My wife and I regret hurrying at this place, wish we had stayed little longer for full course meal. We will be coming back again for sure, even though its gonna be 1 and 1/2 hour drive.
As my partner and I scaled down our June 2020 wedding to just an intimate gathering, we had to completely re-plan a reception and meal. Weve both been vegan for 10+ years, and wanted to go totally vegan for the dinner, but had a difficult time coming up with the right place - not to say we dont have many favorite vegan spots in the HV, but it was a matter of picking food that seemed appropriate for a wedding day, and would satiate a variety of tastes. When we finally hit on Garden Cafe, we knew it would be perfect. They have a solid menu with a variety of cuisine choices, and wed never had a bad bite between us.Im happy to share that our experience was perfect. Garden Cafe effortlessly handled an order for 11 people, and it was fun to allow guests to order their own appetizers, salads, entrees, and even cocktails. Everyone LOVED their food, and honestly raved about it for days after the wedding (an extra good sign when there are only two vegans in the bunch!). We are so grateful to have had a seamless experience on this important day. Thanks to all the staff for your work! Well definitely be back again.
My wife and I are obsessed with Garden Cafe! Probably the best vegan food we have found in all of our travels (Im probably selling them short by qualifying it as merely vegan food - it is just delicious food by any standard!). We used to live in Queens, and we would make a two hour drive just to have a meal at Garden Cafe. We recently moved to the area, and were thrilled that Garden Cafe is now only a few minutes away from us.
We were pleasantly surprised by Garden Cafe! We visited here on a trip to Woodstock from NYC. We tried the eggplant rollatini special and the peppercorn crusted tofu and polenta entree. Both were full of flavor and had generous portions. We also tried the apple crisp and brownie desserts, both were delicious but the brownie was definitely our favorite! The staff were very friendly, too. Recommend for any vegans visiting the area!
We have been coming to this restaurant for over six years now every time we are in town! The food is really good, the interior very cozy and tasteful, but today I have to give this place two stars for the following reason. This restaurant has been around for a long time, mostly packed with locals and tourists, so I am pretty sure that they are doing well. As a restaurant owner myself I do understand that we are going through some tough times, but it is also the time that each business shows their face and builds identity. I do understand that every business decides on their own whether to have inside seating or not (it is allowed in NY state though), BUT!! having people sit in the garden and not even have heaters there shows to me that this place cares only about profit and not its customers. As simple as that. We did experience horrible service before (waiting outside with a child for over 40 mins and the waiter ignoring us), but this was beyond upsetting. It is sad to see that as soon as some businesses become successful they stop thinking about their customers. It is a successful restaurant and I do hope they can afford 2-3 heaters for the outside.
Looks really nice and vegan/gluten free friendly but unfortunately not a good place to dine solo. I was offered a seat at the bar, which I don’t feel comfortable with due to spacing, so I inquired about an open four top. The hostess told me that she could ask, but came back to say, no I could not. She then told me I could wait for an open two seater - probably 10 minutes. Less than a minute after she told me this and as I was standing there, two people walked up behind me. She promptly offered them the 4 top without asking if more people were joining their party.I could have been understanding if they were waiting for 3 or 4 people, but to offer it to a couple when they could have just as easily waited the 10 minutes for the next 2 person table...pretty upsetting, wish I would’ve said something but just walked about because I don’t want to dine at a place like that.
Ive been to this place a few times this year while on hiking trips up north and it is excellent. I really like the lasagna, immune boosting tea, lemon raspberry cake and the tofu with satay sauce. The malbec by the glass is great. My friend really enjoyed the portobello panini.Staff are friendly and helpful. Garden setting is nice. The place is well known and popular. They dont have indoor dining yet so the last time I was there it was pretty cold at night. Hopefully theyll get some outdoor heaters soon. Regardless, memorable meals and I would not hesitate to go back.
While pricey, the Garden Cafe is probably the best place to eat in all of Woodstock, based on food quality, kitchen creativity, ambience and staff friendliness. I was there many times during my travels in upstate NY and will return here for sure when i get back. Super awesome vegan choices on the menu and AMAZING hot chocolate! Try it :)
They subbed out the quinoa I ordered for polenta without asking, which I cannot eat due to dietary restrictions. When I informed the waiter about my restriction, they said they could bring my a plate of asparagus. It wasnt what I ordered, but at least I could eat it. I later found out that I was charged $5 for the 6 pieces of asparagus, just because they couldnt ask me if it was okay for them to substitute the quinoa. This restaurant does not care about dietary restrictions and you should be concerned if you eat here.
Literally the best food we’ve had in a while. We don’t even write reviews, and we needed to write this.First off, the Saki apple cider drink MUST happen first, to warm you up.Then, start with the tofu satay, with peanut sauce and slaw. Coupled with the Buffalo cauliflower tacos, and a tasty side salad to cool things off - situation. The mushroom panini is a beast, and no one would be disappointed eating this gem. While the homemade cornbread was a bit dry, we found solace in the refreshing vanilla “ice cream.”If you were thinking about eating here...stop thinking. Just go!The best vegan food we’ve had in a long time, and we’re not even vegan! BH
Love this spot - my boyfriend and I were up in Phoenicia for the weekend and we came here twice for food! Best plant-based / vegan spot around the area - very cute garden to eat outside, huge portions, the food is delicious, and super friendly staff. Great smoothie, fresh juice, and tea selection as well! There is something for everyone here
No trip to Woodstock is complete with at lease one meal from Garden Cafe. Their no noodle lasagna is crave worthy. I love enjoying their turmeric tea in their beautiful garden, interacting with their charming staff and eating their delicious blinis. I cant wait until my next visit!
I dont like brown rice or corn tortillas but the black bean and rice burrito was so delicious that I forgot I was a picky eater. All the staff was very kind and even the bathroom was lovely! I came in a group of 5, and they were very accommodating (we made a reservation in advance) of the group size and our dietary restrictions.
We came here with 9 people. They communicated with us from the day we made the rsvp to help us plan for our yoga group! We arrived and it was PERFECT service, amazing food!!! And the night was absolutely flawless. Give this place your business!!! We had mostly NON vegans and they all left talking about how amazing the food was. THANK YOU!!!
This place is everything! Before Garden Cafe I would have never imagined enjoying vegan food on a regular basis. Now I do! Garden Cafe makes vegan food fun. The staff is friendly and atmosphere is inviting. Its not a trip to Woodstock without delicious meals at Garden Cafe.
Healthiest Food in Woodstock -- and youll pay. Food is prepared lovingly and consistently well. The staff are very pleasant and appropriately patient with irresolute menu-scanners. Juices made to order are recommended. Faces in the restaurant are the happiest anywhere in town. Many of the menu offerings sound too good, or too pretentious to be true. But the recipes and food preparation are down-to-earth. The food just works, is always fresh and thoughtfully presented. Internal decor is deceptively simple -- absolutely everything is painted white -- and except for opening a wall to an adjacent, formerly separate business on the ground floor of the building, there is minimal modification to the original space, and only a few adornments on walls or windows. This makes sense, in such a small space that aspires to serve an abundant clientele.Bottom line: this is a business built on a sweet combo of personal culinary passion and natural business savvy. If you want the healthiest and tastiest kind of food in Woodstock, this is it.
This is a very quaint and charming little cafe, perfect to sit inside or outside when the weather is good! If you are looking for a vegan menu, definitely check this little beauty out. The menu is small, but offers a good variety of really delicious food. They the noodles-less lasagna, its excellent!
This is a wonderful place to eat with gluten free and vegan options. My stay in Woodstock was amazing because of this one place. The waitress was very warm and charming. Service is fast and this place is always crowded. Food is awesome and delicious. Their menu is so wisely crafted. This was the best restaurant I ate ever. I am so grateful that there are places like these
We got veggie burgers. Side salad was small, burger was small. $16 (each) was way too expensive for that. Juice was $8 for a small, also too pricey. The burger should have at least come w/ some sort of fries. But the main prob was the burger tasted too *Lifelike.* It was creepy due to our not wanting or enjoying the taste of meat. They should have different burger options for people who like the taste of meat & those who don’t
Entirely plant-based and the essence of a sacred environment to boot! 🥰 Today we ordered our food to take home with us and it survived the 1 hour drive delightfully and was happily devoured immediately after returning home. They have their COVID format on lock down, running food out to cars wearing the cutest floral garden masks to match the vibe. Their open air patio is so quaint and inviting, giving off slight antiqued Alice-in-Wonderland feels. Would 100% recommend for any plant based eater & enthusiast.
My husband and I really wanted to to dine here for our Anniversary brunch, and OMGoodness! One of the best vegan meals we have had in a long time. Everything was perfect and savory and so alive and fresh. The ambiance was cozy and the staff was super kind. Love love love! We will be back! All the love from Asbury Park NJ.
Gotta say the food was really good. Veggie lasagne had a solid tomato sauce and the veggies were cooked properly so they were not watery. Although fusion cuisine is decidedly not in style, the indian spiced red lentil enchilada worked very well (I personally think there is a lot of room for creative fusion between south/south east asian cuisine and mexican cuisine but what do I know). They are getting a star docked because the owners were hanging out at the table next to us chatting it up like they owned the place (go figure). Besides the obnoxious rich women who own the place (really it was just one of them) the staff was quite good.
Im not vegan but I went with friends and it was absolutely worth it. Great portions and the food was absolutely delicious. They even have a beautiful garden you can sit and eat in. They also have this really nice waitress with a Scottish accent I believe, and she is top notch
Whether you’re a vegan or not, you’ll love this place. The food is ridiculously good. And 100% vegan. The atmosphere is lovely. The service is awesome. We’d recommend the red bean sweet potato burger, the portabello panini and the red lentil curry enchilada. Oh, and there’s a juice bar. Really good juices, smoothies and beverages. And dessert! This place is a true gem.
Delicious, healthy food. You definitely get plenty of food for the price. I left the restaurant with a full stomach and also a well-fed soul and felt better overall. Wonderful fresh, open and airy atmosphere. The servers are so kind and friendly and are wonderful at what they do. Overall, along the Cafe, the whole town of Woodstock felt like paradise. I was there during the Woodstock Film Festival that ended on Sunday. I will be sure to come back and try more on the menu!
I didnt even know this place was all-vegan when I walked in. The service was amazingly friendly, ambiance cute and charming, and the food was seriously good. Who knew an all vegan pasta free lasagna could taste better than one with meat and cheese? Im sold, and will 100% be coming back.
LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. I genuinely believe that if there were more places like this, that the world would be a better place. Nice atmosphere— i sat outside. Juices, shots, and so many fabulous options. Food is beautifully presented and delicious. Thanks for existing guys!
Absolute joy! The service was so friendly, comprehensive and chilled and the food was glorious. Even the food that wasnt to my taste was exquisitely prepared and tasted divine. We were served by the lovely Matt who gave such stupendous service and was so accommodating and so attentive. Incredible!
I was impressed with the options in the menu. I went to visit Woodstock Sanctuary Farm that day and someone suggested me to eat there and I am glad I did. Great food, service and atmosphere. It was busy, but that is a plus, it always make me happy to see a vegan restaurant booming. I had the Indian Red Lentil vegetable enchilada and I also tried a bite of the red bean sweet potato burger and the veggie lasagna from my friendss plate. We shared the brownie for desert, which I never order, but that was worthy. Please, bring your business to Saugus, MA. There are plenty of spaces on route 1 to rent. I love you guys.
First time in a vegan restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious and inspiring. The outdoor dining with Woodstock Square in the foreground was peaceful . Sophia our wait person made us feel right at home with excellent service and descriptions of our food for us novice vegans
Dinner at the Garden Cafe was a great time all the way around. My friends and I had the vegetable lasagna and the bean burger and fries, the burger was great, and the lasagna is to die for. And the desserts? Fuggedaboutit, strawberry shortcake and raspberry cheesecake were both ridiculous. (The cheesecake is made with cashews and coconut, no dairy, and tasted better to me than any regular cheesecake!) And there is a variety of wines and beers if desired. The service was exceptional, and the garden setting and atmosphere sublime. Cant go wrong with this one!
Lovely place right in the center of town. We were easily accommodated (Party of six) and were not rushed at all, even though the place was busy. Had the pappardelle and the portobello panini, both of which were great. Also had apple lemonade and tea, both excellent as well.
On the positive side Im glad woodWoods has a vegan restaurant and the ambiance and garden are magical. However Ive been there 3 times and each time had similar experiences. We are very picky about food. Were not vegan but are very careful on what we eat. We like clean food no hidden ingredients and wanting good ingredients. I would say Im more macrobiotic but eating here should be perfect. I ordered their macro plate for $16 which is a lot for a simple plate of brown rice, seaweed, black beans and vegetables. So for $16 I thought wed get a hearty plate. To my surprise I got a modest amount of rice...really a small amount of DRY hard brown rice. The black beans were not clean beans but were refried style beans that one would stuff a taco with, oil, spices and cooked to a pasty kinda of way. Not what I was looking for at all. The seaweed was really a bit of seaweed in a slaw with other veggies and dressing. Not at all macrobiotic. And then the spoonful of veggies were a highly spiced assortment. This had no similarity to a vegan mesm, was a very small portion for $16 (guys rice is cheap, load up the plate). Maybe if I were vegan Id appreciate whatever I could get since its so difficult to get and trust. But for me Ive been disappointed at the portion size, price for what you get and the service has always been thin. I really wish I could eat here because it is lovely. But its not for me.
This resturant was a little out of the way but I have to tell you it was fantastic! We went there because my daughter is vegan but I have to say that the other three non vegans were impressed. The food and the service was wonderful. The resturant itself was very clean, food fresh and it was lovely inside. The town of Woodstock has alot to see.
If possible, Id rate this with 6 stars: eating here was the best eating experience we have had maybe in forever. My son and I came with my GF, who eats meat but said if I were lucky enough to eat food like this everyday I would be vegan! As guests nearby in the Catskill Animal Sanctuary, we were recommended this place for dinner. We were surprised to learn later that EVERYTHING on the menu is vegan since we thought that the cheese in the lasagna was ricotta. It was, in fact, made of cashews! ...and EXTREMELY TASTY. We came back to Woodstock the next day for a late lunch , when most places close until 4:30 or 5pm. Those that were open did not entice us as much as repeat visit to Garden Cafe. We ordered the lasagna again. It was unforgettable. The chef is the best I have ever encountered and I regret that we didnt meet.Between the 2 unforgettable meals, we ateQuesadillasSaladsIndian Chickpea BlinisWhole Wheat spiral pasta marinara with Meatless Balls, for my 5 year old ---he liked it so much that he got it it TWICE ---and hes a tough crowd!Warm Chocolate Brownie
Was in Woodstock visiting a farm and one of the workers highly recommended this place and we were grateful for it. Great service, the prices could be better but they arent extremely outrageous. I got the potato something burger and it was great. Wish it was a bit bigger but for the price wasnt surprising. Id deff for back to try other things when we go back to Woodstock. Wish there was a place like this near Boston more precisely in Saugus on route one where they have no vegetarian /vegan restaurant yet.
Took over an hour to receive my food. Got the veggie lasagna. Pretty much squash and sauce. Gluten free garlic bread tasted like plain bread (that had a bad texture). Salad on the side had flavorless dressing and too much onion. Tasted like eating an onion. Very bland on some things and way too flavorful (onions) for some things and was not worth the long wait.
The garden cafe is a vegetarian/vegans paradise. for the most part, the ingredients are seasonal so the menu changes daily. there is an outdoor space which opens in the warmer seasons. the indoor space is small. the only drawback, however, is how long it takes the kitchen to prepare meals, which are clearly all made to order. otherwise, this is a charming spot in the center of town.
Let me say first that I love that this place is fully vegan, and Ive been here theee separate times. Ive been fully vegan for almost five years so I also understand that plant- based meals cost more considering that produce tends to be expensive. However, I couldnt help leaving a review after my disappointing meal yet again today. My boyfriend and I ate lunch at the Garden Cafe and were quite unimpressed with our meals. I got a 12 dollar burrito and he got the special, at 14-16$ dollars. When we got our food I honestly wanted to say, when are you bringing out the rest? His meal looked like something youd serve up in prison or something. It looked like it had been thrown together in three minutes (despite waiting 30 minutes for our food) We opened his burrio and there was maybe two slices of cucumber and one carrot, with a side of beans and rice. It probably cost them five dollars to make, and Im sorry but that is NOT enough food when youre charging 14-16$ Especially on a plant based diet where you have to eat a higher volume of food to fill up. My meal was less then impressive too, it was thrown onto a plate and was a very small burrito. When we got out check and saw it was almost fifty dollars I was just straight pissed off. The food was meh, the service wasnt great and they are making an obscene amount of money off just ok specials. My advice if youre looking to head here is to pick another place, not only were we disappointed but we also left hungry. We had to eat again after leaving. Save your money and head elsewhere
This is almost exclusively where I eat in Woodstock, anymore.I like the curry tofu, good tea, great salads, and I loved the redbean sweet potatoe burger I tried today. Its a lovely setting, with eating inside and out in the garden, and always has something to eat (no matter how picky I am).A pleasure every time
BOY was it Green! Its like sitting in someones backyard. Very casual and quite romantic with the little chicken salt and pepper shakers being an adequate conversation pieces. Some tables are nestled into the greenery for added privacy :). When it turns dark - they turn on some lights and tikis! We had the Garden Bowl, the chickpea blinis and the Mango Tofu sandwich - all of which were delightful. Service was slow unfortunately on that day - it was quite busy but the staff were unpretentiously friendly. A great place and that will stick with us and provide for good memories :)

2022-03-07Visited in Feb. One of the best American vegan place I’ve tried! Both service and food were top notch. The flavor is very original (in a wonderful way), I feel the owner spent lots time in developing the dishes and flavors. The drinks were just as good as the food, we each had 2.

2022-03-12Each meal was nothing short of fantastic. Our first day in Woodstock, we stopped by for lunch and went back for takeout later that same evening, then visited a third time the following day. Staff were attentive and cheery, and the food scrumptious. Next time you find yourself in the Catskills, don’t hesitate to pop in for a bite from this charming *100% VEGAN* cafe. Every dish is made with love. 🌱(ps…portions sizes were more than generous)

2022-06-20The food is off the hook good. Seriously, Im not a vegan but could be if this was what I could eat. I had the vegan meatloaf. Excellent and the onion and mushroom gravy was incredible. My fiance has the Brussels sprouts which were cooked perfectly.

2022-01-15One of the best vegetarian restaurants in NYS. The place is cozy, has good music in the background, very professional attendants and fresh food, with an explosion of flavors ! There’s a different menu every day and all the creations with fresh veggies ! In the pic below, one of the chefs , Walter Pires Lyra, from El Salvador- a gentleman! Affordable, and makes you feel as if you were at home. I highly recommend!Dog friendly A plus!

2021-08-19Last time, I had a meal here, I had a dish that came with curried carrots. I thought it was very delicious. It was a few years ago. I am not a vegetarian but I always appreciate good vegetarian food especially when I can taste interesting flavors with good ingredients.Today, I am in Woodstock and thought to stop by and have a delicious lunch here.I got a macro meal with Tofu and a side of corn bread. The macro meal may look not very exciting but it’s quite delicious and flavorful. I asked for a side of homemade hot sauce also. I make my own hot sauces. So I am not easy to be pleased. But the hot sauce here is delish! So make sure to ask for it. The corn bread is tasty but a little dry. Also, make sure to ask for butter to go with the corn bread.Overall, I’m satisfied with my lunch. I am happily recommending this spot in Woodstock if you like vegetarian food!

2021-08-14This is vegan food at its best. All the dishes here are 100 percent vegan and 100 percent delicious. I mean from starters to desserts, you are getting fresh and delicious food. I had the beyond burger which was excellent (although it’s not as good as impossible burger brand). My oldest had the pesto pasta-simply perfect pesto sauce-wow. My youngest had the TLT-a standard to go to if someone picky is with you. My wife had the burrito-and she raved about it! For dessert I had the strawberry shortcake-wow!! So delish. Our waitress was Sophie and she was so friendly and helpful-a real pleasure to have such awesome service! This is the go to place if you’re in Woodstock!!

2021-10-26Fully vegan restaurant located in Woodstock, NY!Food ****Was not expecting too much here but the dishes sounded phenomenal on the menu that there was so much good looking stuff to choose from. We got the TLT a tempeh fake bacon lettuce and tomato sandwich. This was amazing, we’ve had these before but rate this one of the better ones - they also don’t skimp on the tempeh! Comes with a salad as well. We also got the lasagna which was by far the star. No noodles just vegetables and came with garlic bread and salad. Very delicious and highly recommend.Atmosphere***Good atmosphere, quant restaurant also has outdoor seating if you prefer. Good dining experience.Service****Great and fast service. Specials daily. Bathroom line a little long because only one stall for everyone.Price$$$This restaurant is on the pricier side for sure. They do give you good portions with a salad included which makes the cost more worth it.

2022-05-30We had lunch here, a little bit disappointed. The service is fine, however we waited for one hour for our food after ordering. The most important thing the food is just okay, not that tasty for us.

2022-05-08It’s a vegetarian restaurant but very trendy. We have portobello panini, beyond burger, and pasta less lasagna. Everything was flavorful. We also had fresh juice which was great.
