Great selection of plants, plant care products, decorations, pots, bird feeders/seed, etc. The staff are very helpful, going here is always a pleasure and the selection always beats the big box stores.
Great inventory. WAY OVERPRICED.I bought Garden Craft Jasmine Fencing 18×16 for 14.99$ a section. Found it at Lowes for 6.99$ a section. Over 100% more. No thanks.
As a new homeowner with something of a black thumb, I was looking for plants to put in my front garden bed. The employee I spoke to was very helpful in showing me options that would work for the conditions and space available!
Had just what we were looking for: a large snake plant. Price very reasonable. Store is very neat and well organized with a large inventory of plants and supplies.
Some of the worst customer service Ive ever experienced. An honest mistake was made and every employee pointed the blame towards the customer in a very rude manner. I will now drive out of my way to get supplies instead of going here.

So many house plants and for a great price!! Will be coming again to add to my collection (probably on the weekend though). Only downfall was I arrived at about 4:20 with the store closing at 5pm. Upon walking in the store the cashier looked down at her watch and then back to me. And then I had at least 2 other employees come up to tell me they were closing soon well before 5pm. Was a bit frustrating and felt very rushed.
Adults will enjoy the absolutely amazing assortment of plants and holiday decorations the specious layout allows free browsing without badgering by employees and the kids will be amazed by the seasonal tremendous model train station and mini carnival rides on Saturday and Sunday 11 am to 4 pm
I purchased a large number of veggie plants. When I got home I checked my receipt and saw I was overcharged. When I took my receipt back the next day I was made to feel like a liar by the two store clerks at customer service. I will shop elsewhere next year.
Their greenhouse is a perfect oasis when its cold and icy outside. I could spend all day in there...A lot more variety of products than the big box stores, and they support smaller/lesser-known businesses too. They had what I needed when Lowes, Home Depot and Country Max did not. Ill be going here from now on.

This place is HUGE! We love the selection inside and out. Some of the prices can run a touch higher than the competition, but the sales are good. All of the staff that Ive interacted with have been great. This is really one stop shopping for gardening.
Purchased beautiful poinsettias for my neighbors. Stopped to see the train layout. My husband was into model trains and it was nice to see something that brought him so much enjoyment.

We go to Garden Factory every year before or after Christmas to take in the amazing model train set up. The space is cold, so plan to being your warm woolies. If you go before Christmas, youll find fun winter food vendors, rides, a few craft vendors and lots of sweet kids running around. The train and indoor music/light show stays after Christmas, and help celebrate the season.
The shear size of this place is worth the visit alone. Theres an astounding selection of plants that you wont find at another nurseries. They have sales that are pretty good value. Some items I found were a little on the expensive side but theyre also very well grown and much larger than youll find elsewhere. I honestly cant wait for my next trip to this side of town to grab more plants and garden supplies

My house needed help desperately on the outside. Me and my better half spent 3 hrs there choosing plants and picked up a few statues. The plants were very healthy and grew nicely. Wide variety, knowledgeable staff. We love this store. My girl went back at Halloween time and picked up some halloween decorations. High quality stuff! We are planning to return to fill our vegetable garden.
I bought 10 lavender plants Spring of 2020, they were just babies at that time. However, this year my lavender is at least 10x in size. All survived the winter without a hitch. They smell and look amazing! Couldnt be happier!
Customer service was excellent. Needed a price adjustment on purchase. Noticed a cost increase when it should of been less. Few minutes later everything was taken care of. Also well stocked on sale items today. Cannot guarantee next week. Very big and clean and well stocked though. Also military discount on non sale items. If on sale no discount. Same towards senior discounts.
Didnt even realize that a nursery of this size existed. Welcomed site in Rochester. Liked selection of perennials found several items. Worth the trip but you wont find too many deals so probably worth bargaining but very tough to do at these places staffed largely by teenagers who would prefer to talk about friends reaching their 30s and how much they hated their high schools rather than interact with customers!

Love the garden factory, but my sister and I were disappointed when we arrived on Friday March 25 at 3pm to find it closed.
I realized I didnt add an actual review until now. (24hrs later). Ive always had a good experience going to the garden factory. The staff are friendly and extremely helpful. In fact, I recently had an order where the stock online didnt match the stock in store. One of their employees, Marissa, went above and beyond to help me and she ended up giving me a call when the item I actually wanted was in. She made sure that I got what I was looking initially and I couldnt be happier with the situation.
Love coming here for all my plant essentials, as well as to browse their indoor houseplants. Such a vast selection of both basic and more exotic plants (I bought a carnivorous one last time!), and I always leave with another unexpected gem. Cute pots and planters too. My only tip: if considering buying a houseplant, make sure to look closely for little bugs/pests. I’ve had a couple plants I got from there that had pests, so be careful just to save time, energy, and stress from trying to get rid of them. Don’t let that scare you from exploring this beautiful store though!

My first time in was such a pleasant experience! I was welcomed with a friendly staff as soon as I walked in. The place is huge! I just became a big houseplant nerd and I was mesmerized as soon as I walked in, surrounded by houseplants, outdoor plants and all the decor you could need! I was so ecstatic when I saw they had a rare Alocasia Frydek that I’ve been trying to find!! I thought nowhere around here would have them! I bought the plant about a week later and she’s been thriving and sprouting new buds left and right. She currently has 7 new leaves unfurling! I couldn’t have been happier with my experience, I’ll for sure be coming back often to fulfill my planting addiction !

I was so excited about finally going to the Garden Factory (never been). However I was disappointed by time I left. The facility is huge, gorgeous and very clean. The staff seemed very bothered to answer a question I had regarding a shrub, they were more concerned about moving plants. I would have liked to seen better labeling of plants and signage throughout the store. The plant variety was awful, could have gone to Lowes or Home Depot and found a better variety of plants. I also found that some of their plants were being poorly taken care of. I understand that some just dont do well and die. However for a store that only sells plants and gardening supplies, I expected better. I didnt mind the higher prices on the plants that looked wonderful and showed that they were really well taken care of, but the same higher price on unhealthy forgotten plants was discouraging.I realize its the end of the season, so I hope to go back in the beginning of next season and have a better experience. Or maybe I just had to high of a standard for a garden store?
I have been shopping at GF for several years at least 4 times a year.Today I went there for a variety of things. I was surprised at the lack of fall flowers. There has always been many more varieties inside.But the thing that made me a bit frustrated was the young man that rang up my purchases.There were a couple things that did not have price tags anywhere on them and I did not see any prices on the shelf or anywhere else for them.When I asked if he could check the price before I purchased them because of the above reason he quickly stated in a demeaning manor that the prices of items were on the shelves. I told him that I didnt see them and I had spent some time looking for them.He then said again the prices where there and they must have been hanging above the item.I decided not to engage in further conversation about it but there were no prices above, below, on either side or on the items.Customer service should be better than that!

Garden factory is a great place to pick up a plant for your garden or a gift. The staff is always friendly. I have bought trees, bushes perennials. They are are always top quality.
No matter what you need they have it. Not to mention the extravagant set ups of special activities for kids around holiday times. 30 foot dinosaurs, wild model train set ups. It sure feels like you in a larger city than Rochester, NY when you experience the larger than life activities these guys set up!!!
Large crowd, but shopping is quite spread out and checkout was extremely organized and quick. The selection of annuals, perennials, organic herbs and other garden plants is extraordinary!
I have been planning to buy a hanging silk flower arrangement for the deck on my apt. I was extremely disappointed to find the pot I loved went up in price by $30!. Last year the pots all sold for $50. Now they sky-rocketed to $80. Really? This is just another scalping using covid as an excuse.So how was Garden Factory today?Obviously NOT SO GREAT😟

They have so much stuff and the place is huge. Some staff was very helpful yet the young girl at the register was useless. I told my mother she should sign up for there reward card twice and the girl said nothing so when my mother then asked her how to sign up she told her online then very quietly said mentioned here also with a sigh. She made it very clear that she didnt want to be bothered with it. As we left I could see her on her phone the whole time, really they shouldnt even have there phones out durning work.
It has a pretty good selection but youre going to pay up-for-it a lot of the items. Although, they do have some sales a lot of times to bring the price to where it is reasonable. Also it would be really good if they would mark the items a lot better, possibly some better signage on items that really didnt have prices or information.
Lovely place. Half masked. Mostly an older crowd, but with some beautiful plants. The flowers were great, and the June day great too.

We go to Garden Factory for all of our landscaping needs for the front of our building. Plants are fairly priced and they always have what were looking for! Staff is very friendly and helpful.
A great place to find anything needed for the yard and garden. Ranging from the little lawn gnome to the new tree you want to grow to be a giant one day. Customer service is funomenal, anyone you ask will be able to get you the information you need or at least get someone who does. Only reason I give a 4 and not a 5 is because some of the prices are a bit high compared to the same items you can get at one of the home centers or online. Overall they get my business 3-4 times a year!
I bought what I thought was a great dog toy and when there was an issue, I spoke to Dennis and he listened to my issue and said he would speak to his buyer about it. I was able to send pictures too. I’ve always loved The Garden Factory and now even more because of how well they treat their customers.
The Garden Factory is one of my favorite garden stores in Rochester. It would get 5 stars today except for one employee who was clueless. I asked this employee who was working in the big greenhouse where I could find the composted manure. He asked if it was soil. I said no and explained what it was. Same thing for peat moss. He didnt know where either were . I found them and was trying to figure out how I was going to lift them in and out of the car. A manager came up and asked if he could help. I explained my dilemma. He helped load my cart and he instructed an employee to help load my car. A very helpful and appreciated act of kindness.
Highly recommended. Everything is always well taken care of, presentable, with quite a selection! We begin our planting season here each year.
So based on the amazing and downright incredible selection of plants and products, I would be inclined to give this place a five and a raving review, however, was tough to find help in the store. if you want to just browse around, or know exactly what you need, you would likely have to spend an entire day in your car to find a better place
We went for their fall festival, before we went we knew there Wouldnt be a pumpkin light show, we are hoping there will be a Christmas one its our favorite display!

I heard about The Garden Factory on the radio so I brought my family to the Fall Family Fun event and it was AWESOME! The kids had such a blast we are looking forward to going back for their Christmas activities. Also when I was there I noticed they had a greenhouse filled with houseplants so I decided to go back this weekend alone to look around and left with so many new ones for my office! Will for sure be going back its such great place!
Very nice selection of plants and the quality is very high. It can be a little tough to find help at times as the staff always seem to be dragging off in one direction or another.
A few weeks back I stopped at Home Depot & took pics of the items I wanted with the price. I then went over to the Garden factory & to much to my surprise, They were a lot less. The Garden Factory saved me well over $10! They also had people that knew what to do with my lawn where the Big Box store really didnt have anyone! Also nice place with lots of plants & variety.

Garden Factory selection is superb and the staff was very courteous and helpful. We had a large landscaping project planned and needed a lot of help. Garden Factory has a wonderful gem of a sales person Rick. He took time to listen to our needs and helped us greatly. We were very impressed with Rick’s knowledge, professionalism, experience and friendly personality. Our experience at the Garden Factory was excellent. We will definitely be back.

I think this may have been the best experience of my life at a garden center. You didnt have to look far for help when you had a question. As I was checking out someone even offered assistance getting everything loaded into my car. I will definitely be going back for any of my gardening/plant needs!
Some cashiers are not friendly no hi one bye and no thank you. One of a young cashier was very rude when I asked if I could run in real quick to grab something near by and she gave me an attitude with her body attitude. I know they want to go home, but no need to be rude. Some of the worker didnt want to help answer you question, but there is this older man who is always willing to help out. He has always been a present .have to act like that.
This place is massive with a huge selection of plants and plant-related products. We only stopped in to get some vegetable plants but their selection of flowers, shrubs, and trees was impressive. On top of all that their prices seem reasonable.

Wow this place has went from the biggest garden center around to a destination. You really can go there and spend an afternoon browsing the indoor plants and isles and buildings of holiday items. Used to live close havent been there in a few years and now will drive there more often, didnt realize what we were missing
The place was packed and I was only getting a BDay Gift card. I waited in the Customer Service Line and when it was my turn told Id have to go to the Register Line. People had lots of items but I Finally Made It!!
Went early January and was still impressed by the amount of plants in the front greenhouse. There was a great selection of plants, and I was able to get a few I had been searching for along with some gorgeous pots. I can’t wait to go back and try not to spend all the money on future plant babies!

Always enjoy my trip to the store for nothing other than to browse and smell the beautiful flowers and weirdly pleasant chemicals.
Great products, variety and prices but COVID19 precautions and procedures sorely lacking. I only saw on hand sanitizer station at the entrance, there were no cart wipes nor were there employees wiping down carts. Several employees had masks half off their faces. Aisles were going in both directions forcing people to be extremely close to pass. There are no floor markings or other reminders for distancing. Checking out required touching the keypad or stylus. I am very happy with what I purchased but felt uneasy an unsafe in the store both inside and out and will not return during the pandemic or until procedures are improved.
They have a great selection and all your gardening needs the staff is busy so bear with them but very helpful.

I called about corn stalks asking if they had them, they said they had 22 in stock. So i then drove all the way out there in my truck. So i asked where the stalks were, and they told me they were all the way in the back of the store. Did not see them, so i asked a worker there and he told me we do not have any more, because we threw them out this morning. What upsets me the most is that when i called i was put on hold for 5 minutes while they were checking.What were they doing? I was given no apology after driving 25 minutes to the store. They lost my business
Great selection, fair prices. Ive attended their Christmas Fair for the past 5 years and its truly an amazing event. Train enthusiasts will love the train set up year after year. The light show and petting zoo are a hit with the kids. I swear it gets bigger every year. I attended their first Fall show this year (2015) and they had an amazing selection of vendors and great deals on fall/halloween themed potted plants and decorations.
Our experience at the Garden Factory was remarkably good. We had a large landscaping project planned and the staff at the G.F. were very helpful from start to finish. First we were helped choosing the best plants for our location, then we were helped checking out and moving the items to our car (some of which were very heavy) and finally we had a pallet of stone delivered and the man delivering it (Dave?) truly put 100% effort into getting the stone through our small gate and situated perfectly to allow us to build a raised bed. Very happy with our choice of shopping at the Garden Factory, and will certainly recommend to others.

Fun place to go and see a large variety of plants and trees. However I have had very bad luck with stuff surviving. 3 azaleas and a dogwood tree did not make it. A bush we got from aldis did however, along with 4 boxwoods from garden factory. I dont feel its worth my 30 min drive to try and return them. Just feel like they will die again.
Omg!!This place is awesome!! I went with my family, we all had fun. Definitely for kids off all ages! ! Their is a bunch of rides for kids of all ages! ! Their is also a petting zoo,and a cool light show!! Pumpkins all over, and ice cream, kettle cook popcorn. Lots of fun!!
It was very busy on seniors Wednesday opening. Its mid May now and the spring-summer weather is here. We found they were out of a few flower varieties, like inpatients but think its due to the virus. Will be returning soon.

I arrived, just to get me one of those dog statues, but the one I wanted wasnt there, so I walked to the front desk, and I asked, and they said they have 2 in-stock. I said, but I didnt see it. They said, if it is in-stock, it is on the shelf. I said but it isnt, can I get help looking for it? and she goes, No. Do it yourself. The staff was very rude, and unhelpful. Lost my business.
My wife and I were shopping for herbs and we found two that we needed. We bought two ceramics pots last week. We were looking for a taller, thinner pot that matched the other two. Well check again during the summer.

The plants! Even in late November. Great selection of succulents and some cacti too. This is a family destination for the holidays, a total carnival is inside with rides and vendors. Plus a cool train set up for the grandparents.
I put in my vegetable garden about 2 weeks ago. Most all of my green pepper plants and my broccoli plants have died off. Went back to Garden Factory today to get Replacements and theyre all out. Not very happy. Im going to have to search around see if I can find replacement plants at some other Nursery
Great store, its huge. They have everything you will ever need and than some. Service is very good. Some things can be a little pricey, but you wont walk out of the store empty handed.

A long time greenery getting place in Rochester. They sell everything and anything for gardens and landscapes. Customer service is spectacular as all of the employees have radios and can ask everyone else if they dont have the answer. Some mulch and stone is sold in bulk. plenty of parking and they know when their busy times are. Very knowledgeable. They also have a Christmas special with a big train set up.
I always try to stop in during apple season they have a great selection and variety. Where they set them selves apart is during holidays. Every holiday they always have something going on that is family friendly and affordable my son loves the animals they bring in and when Santa comes we go see him too!
Asked for and got suggestions for a bare corner, after removing a maple tree last year. They gave us several options, and came home with our new shrub.

We Went to buy plants with my aunt like we have done for years spending thousandsI give it 2 stars cause the quality is actually good. Its the encounter with the owner that turned us off. We got there asked to pick out 17 hanging baskets from back warehouse. The gentlemen said no problem. Go to building and wait for employee to show us. At that point a man on a cart came up very rude and said what are you doing back here. We were not in building. We were waiting out in front. Like we were told to. He said I am the owner and I want u away from here. When we try to explain what the other gentleman who told us he wanted nothing to do with it. Thats when he said I am the owner and Im telling you to get away from the building and go up front Thats not how u speak long term customers who spends a thousand plus every year. The Fall Festival style event wasnt bad. Each activity costs between two and six tickets, and tickets run fifty cents each. Activities range from a miniature Ferris Wheel, to a large slide, to carny style games with prizes.

Place is jam packed, too few rides but dnack foods are good quality fair priced. Wish there was a way to speed up looooong ride lines. Great for toddlers 2-8..
I was very disappointed upon arriving to only find 20 Christmas trees in rough shape. Ended up taking one home for 29.00 . Santa and Mrs. Claus left the building at 4PM thought it closed at 6PM. Not as great as last year. But I am grateful to have a tree!

I went there for the four step fertilizer plan by Turf Line. I asked if I could swap out the first step because of over seeding , which I have done in years past. The worker replied that turfline doesnt make any other first steps ... I told him that every year in the past Ive purchased this from gro-moore farms and they would always swap it out. He chuckled and said well theres no more grow more. Just seemed really rude and unprofessional!

Purchasd 20 rolls of sod to replace lawn at road. Was told this is grown locally to be compatible with lawns in this area. Looks great at first because they over fertilize and water to look good. But even after following care directions it did not thrive. I was also hoping after a couple of years the blue wouldlighten and turn to green, but it is has not and the blue is very noticable compared to rest of green lawn

2022-04-28You can always count on someone to help you, fresh plants and decent prices. Deals running through the entire season. Huge cactus. Huge hostas and HUGE trees. I love this place! Definitely worth walking through here and looking around. They back most of their large plants for 1 year!

2022-03-15Its a great place for supplies and the older staff seem like they really like to help you. But I see what other reviewers mean about the rude staff. They are definitely not customer service focused. They seem like theyre just there to get through their shift. I wouldnt say theyre rude but they are stand offish. I wouldnt trust them to give me helpful advice about gardening needs. I would go again if I really needed something, but i would rather go somewhere where i feel like Im being really helped.

2022-05-20I bought 50 arborvitae from The Garden Factory and had them delivered a couple days ago. Their plants, shrubs and flowers are incredible. Dennis, the manager, was extremely knowledgeable and helpful with advice regarding planting and fertilizing them. Best of all, their pricing is better than anywhere else in the area. An amazing place!

2022-05-09The most warm and diligent staff, even on an absolutely frigid May Saturday. I received absolutely lovely service from both the customer service desk and the cashier. I am living with changing how there is a result of leukemia, and they were nice enough to go and get two beautiful great plants that they selected for me, and then the cashier was absolutely sweet. As usual the selection and resources at garden factory cannot be beat.

2022-05-28Always the best, I look forward to going here to get my flowers every spring and fall. Normally the staff is above and beyond helpful. Knowledgeable and younger boys are always so helpful to offer a hand in getting anything to the car. You should really have a talk with the young redhead girl that helps inside. She’s very rude, seems to be mad you’re asking her a basic question about if certain baskets will be back in. Told me to come back early on Saturday to have the basket custom made for me. I Do this and then come to find out you aren’t able to make it, and then she acted like she didn’t just tell me that the day before. Your staff is always GREAT, thought you should know about this certain employee so she doesn’t ruin your great reputation.

2022-06-01Big place, great selection of indoor and outdoor plants of all sorts. Prices tend to be a bit higher than some others but its good quality. Huge selection of compost, mulch, stones, pavers, etc., at fairly good prices.

2022-04-25I purchased a Hoya Lisa houseplant a few months back and was surprised to find that over half of the leaves weren’t even rooted? They were just leaves on a stem stuck in there and slowly dried up since they had no roots or a node to grow a root from. I thought I was buying a pretty lush plant and it ended up only to have 4 viable leaves with roots. I’m not sure if this is a common practice at this place, I could be wrong but that was my experience.

2018-04-30This place has a very big selection of flowers, plants for indoors and outdoors, and everything else you can imagine for your garden! It was pretty busy when I went also on a Sunday afternoon. So Id recommend going during the week maybe? The prices in my opinion are somewhat high and this was my first time coming here. Ive been to other places that had the same stuff at a cheaper price but not big of a selection. The costumer service was just alright but could have improvement.
