The outside is old and outdated and the hallway is unkept with broken blinds that are hanging. Its in a great location though and very affordable. The apartment was surprisingly up to date and clean Ill keep it on my list.
Used BLATANT false advertising to trap my young girlfriend into a lease, stating that she wouldnt be able to look at the apartment before signing due to insurance reasons. Moved in and apartment smells like rat urine. Clearly didnt clean walls or floors so we did that ourselves. Attempted to cook first dinner and then burners smoked and smelled like fish! The pictures in the craigslist ad are NOTHING like how the apartment actually looks. The room pictured is renovated and aimed at attracting people that usually wouldnt move into such a trashy development for such an expensive price. Upon calling Dawn and explaining the issues, she got very rude and told her she was lucky to even have an apartment then hung up on her. We are currently in the process of pursuing legal action for false advertising and malicious, deceptive business tactics. Steer far clear my friends... If you dont have section 8, then this place you will hate...
An absolutely awful place to live for any decent human being. Just spoke with a cop that informed me that this place had plenty of problem and not safe. That mentally unstable people and paroles are placed here to live. Not a good place for children what so ever. The apartment had bees, the sliding glass door wont lock, the kitchen sink leaks, the parking lock has trash, there are shopping carts all over the place, and rats in the dumpster. Absolutely awful! Trust me when I say this because I tried giving the place the benefit of the doubt and looked pass all the negative feedback hoping that what was said was just out of angry people. This place is awful and have only been here a week and am ready to go.
Abysmal maintenance. Tow your car with little to no notice so they can clean. Residents come in dead last. no one should have to put up with their callous treatment. Office staff okay.
Dont have money issues where as you have to take your car off the road for a week or so because they will have it towed. And the heat does not work. They say its 70 degrees but it feels more like 20 inside.
The guy who answers the phone is a jerk! He sounds like he doesnt want to work there at all!!! I havent even moved in yet, but Im already thinking about moving smh!!The lady named Dawn in the office should take over the front office, they need to put that grinch of a man in the back pushing papers. He is very freaking rude.Customer Service is everything! Duh they need new management shame on them they live in Cheektowaga and have this bad reputation 👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽
Great office staff! They were very accommodating when I needed to rent out the hall for my daughter’s bday party and they even showed to make sure things ran smoothly that evening. Very nice ladies
This is a place you do not want to live there is mold that constantly grows in the bathroom appliances are always broke and the management has a very nasty and rude demeanor this is not a place that you want to raise your children there are people and young men constantly hanging out around your window in your area you can not sleep. This is not a place you want to have a family
Its really nice, the area is quiet. I would give 5 stars if it wasnt for utilities getting shut off
The have BED BUGS!!!! I notified them a week after I move in about the bugs they did not care and didn’t do anything about it. Very rude people that works in the office as well. I would not recommend this place even if it was the last place on earth.
If your looking for a 1-2 bedroom apartment this is the place to be there a community center a pool and your own balcony plus you dont need a refrigerator or stove
Very comfortable to live with family.no violations.heat also good.have own garage and storage room.i like to live here and recommend so many friends.
Very nice community room for private parties. I attended wedding reception last weekend, good for even smaller functions.I would recommend place highly.
My daughter and her fiance live in these apartments theyre well kept up and its a quiet area
For the most part, its a decent area compared to what i have seen since moving here. Neighbors are nice so far, and its not noisy around here like i thought it wood be.
The apartments are NOT worth the money and the rent goes up $10 a month every year, $835 is a mortgage payment not a small 2 bedroom in Cheektowaga that management doesnt even take care I do not recommend at all
A truly wonderful move-in experience! The staff went above and beyond. From management, to the office gals, to maintenance.... I cant thank you enough!

2021-10-26I want to thank Garden Village Apartments for being my home for so many glorious years. I loved my neighbors in my building of 120. I loved my apartment of number 2 and everyone of my neighbors from Apt 1 to 5 were great people. The staff here at Garden Village are wonderful ladies. After all these years we have grown to be such good friends. People say some really bad things about Garden Village but I lived there almost 9 yrs and I enjoyed every moment. My apartment was comfortable. I made it to feel like when you were there you never wanted to leave. I enjoyed my apartment. I loved my neighbors around me as well. I dont have the complaints that a lot of people post. But take it from me I was well liked. And I took care of my apartment. I only called management for real issues. Like if a pipe busted or if the heat didnt work or when my stove didnt work. I never called them for minor issues that I could do myself. Like batteries in the smoke detectors or light bulbs. I didnt complain about minor issues. When I wanted to touch up the walls I asked for paint and we did it ourselves. I am no longer at Garden Village but I hold a special place in my heart for living here and still have some friends that I either go visit or they come visit me. Now you might be asking yourselves if I loved it so much why did I move? Well, excellent question. See I have always said the only ways Id ever leave here are 2 things. (1) because we buy a house or (2) I died. Well Im not dead. Lol, but my husband and I bought a house. We saved and saved, and finally fulfilled our dream. It wasnt easy to leave my apartment but our goal we set out for, was accomplished. The ladies in the office are welcomed to come visit me at anytime. I also want to thank head of maintenance, Isaiah for always helping me when I needed it and the kindness and great conversations throughout the years. Olya, you are one of a kind and I see you as a friend. Thank you. Dawn, you were there the 1st time I came in to see the apartments for the 1st time. When Ed was still there. You also are a friend. And to Diane (im not sure if this is your name) Im sorry if its not, but even though we didnt speak much and you are newer to the Garden Village family, whenever I did speak to you, you were always respectful, kind and very helpful. Always with a welcoming smile and for that I am grateful. I would love for you to come as well. I want people to know, Garden Village is very well taken care of. You are safe living here and it is way more affordable than most apartment complexes. You will always have people who complain. But I truly am 100% honest when I say. Id still be there if I hadnt bought a house with my husband. We truly were very happy. We just wanted more. God Bless everyone at Garden Village in Cheektowaga NY. 2021-05-25During this pandemic i have lost income and now getting ready for rental assistance. The office has been patient with me and for that i am grateful. I also went through a surgery that was severe and they wished me well. I intend to pay what i owe and hopefully continue to live here. My place is quite and clean the other tenants and i have no problem. Thanks for your patience and understanding in this matter.

2017-09-29I only left one star so that I may leave a comment, I am concerned and terrified after reading the rating which have been left my daughter and her infant son are possibly moving into this complex and from what I have read Im not comfortable as a parent with the ideal of my child living in these type of conditions hopefully during the open house we may run into actual tenants and get their view of the place and I would actually like to see an actual apartment vs the model because in my opinion the model always looks better than the actual apartment. If this place is as bad as the reviews and unsafe then as a parent I am going to talk my daughter out of wanting to live there.

2019-11-05If I can give no star I would’ve. My daughter stayed here with my grandchildren. My daughter would always let them know of issues that was going on with the apartment and they did not care. They blamed everything on my daughter from the leak in the ceiling to the bug issue and her stuff coming up missing. They never wanted to fix any situation she had which was there fault. I would not recommend we should’ve read the reviews first. If your going to live here don’t put anything valuable your going to end up having to throw away because of the bug issue. Or it will mysteriously come up missing while your away and there the only ones with the keys to your apartment.

2019-08-31I usually don’t do reviews but I wish someone would’ve told me about them before I move in. I stayed here for 1 year and wasn’t even living in the apartment for a year. I had to pay to stayed at hotels due to bed bug issues. Me and my son got biting up very bad. My son had a allergic reactions to the bug bites he couldn’t even walk. I let them know about the issue they did nothing they didn’t even care about my son. No one never came to try to address the issue. The individuals in the office talk to you like you worth nothing such as Donna is very rude and so is Olga. They don’t give security deposit backs they got upset because I rather stay at a hotel then in there bed bug falling apart apartments. I would not recommend to anyone look somewhere else that’s worth your money!!!

2018-03-15After 10mos of leaving GV, I have yet to receive my remaining security deposit back. I have called the office numerous times to inquire when I can expect to receive it, only to be told they are working on it. I lived there for 2 years and paid my rent on time every month. I finally just gave up. No one from the office ever called me back to let me know when I can expect to receive my remaining balance back, so keep this in mind if you are considering living here.

2018-02-20I live here and for the last 8 months i have been happy until i found out that they allowed a register sex offender to move into the building next to mine. this upsets me as i read this mans story and it seems he had/has a thing for young girls. as a mother of a 13 year old i dont feel comfortable even letting my daughter out to walk the dog. onotp of that the recent tenets who move in below me are awful, i walk into my building and it smells like pot- and a bunch of young men are always hanging out in the hall ways making noise, running up and down the stairs. the other day i came home at a late time and 4 of them were just standing there staring at me. it made me feel very uncomfortable to the point where i was worried about getting robbed or something. then i think okay maybe i should call the office.. but then i think what are they going to do? prob nothing considering that had to pay $50 for a background check to make sure im not a criminal, but yet they let one move in across from me. with all this said i cant wait to my lease is up!!!

2018-12-182 years ago yesterday my sister was left to die in this apartment building. It has taken this long to come to grips with her loss and finally write this review.It all began when my sister ran into her apartment and didn’t respond to family waiting outside her door. Her fiancé knew something serious was wrong and asked the manager to call 911, telling them there was an emergency situation. While waiting the manager and maintenance man (with the keys dangling in his hands) would NOT open her door for her Mother, her daughter and fiancé—mind you her Mother & fiancé we’re BOTH listed as her emergency contacts, that have permission to open her door.) They BEGGED to open the door, knowing something happened to her and the manager would NOT and the maintance man would NOT. 45 minutes later the ambulance arrives and my unconscious sister was rushed to the hospital. 45 minutes later you may ask why so long...and that’s because the manager told 911 it was for a welfare check. A welfare check when it was an EMERGENCY and told it was an emergency. Sadly, my sister died 2 days later! She suffered an accident and went without oxygen for 45 minutes. She is DEAD-GONE-NO MORE because of the neglect, lack of common-sense, and disregard of life these people have. She has 3 teenagers who now have NO Mother. The loss is incredible and the effort to save her would’ve been so minimal. Do you want your family living here? Don’t make the mistake!PS We never even got an apology from anyone here. And my Mother was forced to evacuate all my sisters belongings within 10 days or they would be thrown into the garbage, even though her lease was paid for another 3 months. What a Merry Christmas that was

2021-02-21Maintenence dosent do anything if there is any issues.Biggest issues are pests.Seeing rats,roaches,and now termites.Contact staff and say that they will take care of it and dont.Also say that WE are responsible for paying for any issues of pests even tho its not our fault.This is also from multiple neighbors talking to me as well about this.Bedbugs are now a issue as well.DO NOT COME LIVE HERE!

2017-09-18When you call the office with a problem they act like your lying like Im not the one that have to live in this filthy ass apartment hallways stink and dirty roaches coming from the basement because of the water leak (and u would think that they would try to fix which they didnt) and they dont care Im sick of this and for the amount of money they charge you youll think youll be living comfortably but not here ! I call these people at least twice a week! They all have attitudes you shouldnt work in a field where people skills are required if you have none. My kids hate coming home because loud ass neighbors stomping and jumping no respect for other neighbors at all they leave clothes all over the basement for months and months everything is just ridiculous and they should also tell people that every year your rent goes up 25$ and I really hate moving I like to have some stability but I cant take here no more we dont sleep here so basically Im paying them to store my furniture thats how bad it is then when you get an attitude with them they act like your wrong and spazzing for no reason Im pretty sure they dont live like this
