Great food, especially the corn fritters. And service was outstanding
The food is good, especially the burger with the pretzel bun. I will not be going back for a while, until I forget about their surprise add on charge on the receipt that they never mention.
Food is fine, prices are good. But it sometimes stinks... smells like they havent cleaned their floors in years. Waitstaff is not friendly, for the most part.
Love the gators been going here 20+ years as a kid and as a young adult best place on planet for Sunday brunch mimosas and eggs Benedict!! Out of this world. To die for!! Luv Richie and Lady Diane, I’ll never leave you for anyone else’s food..

Lovely old school place that is a fixture in Hampton Bays. Sadly might have seen better times. Lovely staff but limited menu and food is good not great. They are definitely worth supporting as the are an “institution” in this area. Support local restaurants guys.
Best buffalo wings Ive ever tasted. I get at least 20 and have tried every sauce, including nuclear. Burgers and cheese steaks are awesome, fried fish sandwich great too. Always quick and friendly service.
I love this place! The staff here is amazing, everyone is so nice and welcoming. If I can’t find time to sit down and eat, I love calling in and ordering takeout. “”Donald”” is AMAZING!! He always helps me with what to order, he’s super kind and funny. When you pick up your food, you can’t best bet Donald will be there to greet you with his charming smile! I love him and I love gators!! Recommend everyone check this place out for great wings!
The service not withstanding, the food was better than average for bar food, but not gourmet. The lobster bisque was rich with chunks of lobster meat, the lobster and crab stuffed flounder likewise had some pieces of shellfish although the stuffing was a bit too bready. My dinner companion ordered the Reuben sandwich, which apparently was good. The major problem was the service which was excruciatingly slow, in a restaurant that was generally empty. It took about an hour before our soup and salad was served, with dinner coming 1/2-1 hour after that. If I could grade them separately, I would give the food 3 1/2 stars; the service 1.
Usually very good burger but disapointed this time. Ordered medium rare but cooked more well done, did not agree woth the wife. Vegi spring rolls were tasty. Will try again...
I love coming here with some friends to order a couple beers and food. It’s been a staple in the community for 30+ years, Gator’s knows how it’s done. Great service, food, and drinks, thanks for everything guys! Don’t sit on it, definitely check it out
Real good food, but a little pricey for lunch. $40.00 for 2 people for lunch is steep, but the food was great. We had the Duck Sliders, and the Gorgonzola Salad with grilled chicken. Both were delicious, and the salads are huge, so we needed a take-home bag. They do have $6.00 brew and burger specials if you eat at the bar. So thats the working mans lunch. Nice quiet atmosphere around lunch time, and not very busy. But this is Sept. and the summer crowd has all gone.
My Wife and I have been to Gators several times now. Just looks like a small town bar on the outside, but inside is a beautiful cozy little restaurant with AMAZING food ! We drive over an hour to go there for their amazing Popcorn shrimp and wings. Best weve ever had ! The burgers are awesome and their fried clam strip dinner is HUGE and equally amazing. The service is always , spot on and the waitresses are very friendly. The owner Diane came to our table to make sure we were happy with everything and was also very sweet and friendly. Not too many owners would take the time to do that (and we are by no means regulars there, yet anyway). We cant wait to go back and bring our friends. If your looking for awesome food at a fair price out in the Hamptons you really need to check this place out, youll be happy that you did !
Gators Restaurant isnt only a place where I can get great food. Its friendly atmosphere and joyful staff only make the experience better. The wings are most definitely best on the island. Gators is very consistent with their food, and they have yet to disappoint! I love going there, especially when I am greeted by such a beautiful hostess. (That never hurts)
Nice comfy spot on Main Street in the center of the hamlet of Hampton Bays. Nachos, Fried Shrimp and Buffalo Wings are among some of the delicious starters, Burgers and 18oz Angus Steaks for the main event! Dont forget the beer menu. The wings are by far the best Buffalo Wings in the Hamptons! Eat in or take out, do not miss.
Great ribs, wonderful service. We enjoy going to Gators for their huge rack of ribs covered in a tangy barbecue sauce. The meat literally falls off the bone and is so delicious. The corn fritters appetizer is a nice start too!Along with the rib dinner, you get a nice said with dressing.Finishing up, the rice pudding is the way to go.Thank you Patty out waitress for a wonderful evening!!!
Ive been a patron of Gators for more years than I want to admit to lol Casual, local, quaint restaurant where you can get a great meal without the Hamptons prices, while bantering with the friendly, professional & entertaining staff. I am a regular for their bar menu specials, available 7 nights a week. If youre in the area and hungry, dont hesitate to drop in.
Smallish and unpretentious restaurant with reasonable prices, especially for the Hamptons. But two orders of the days special (fried fish) took 40 minutes to arrive. The waitress was gruff about it. In another table, the customer ordered a cheeseburger, got a hamburger and no one to complain to since the waitress disappeared for 20 minutes.
Horrible horrible horrible! There is a issue of race. I have been here in the past and both times the service was different from that of other people in the restaurant. My experience was so bad I can still remember every single detail. Especially from Diane I think shes called she is so rude and disrespectful! Everyone deserves respect especially when they are encouraging a small business in the community! Worst hostess ever!
I went there with 3 friends from Shinnecock Indian Reservation. The woman behind the bar was svery slow in dealing with us. We sat there for 30 mins before she took our order. She smiled and was jovial with everyone else there. When she came to us, she had a put off look on her face and an unfriemdly demeanor. We ordered off the $6 burger deal, and it took another 30 mins to get our food. Then my order wasnt even right. Oh, and she was so disrespectful my fiance would not even eat there. This place has problems with people of color. I do not recommend this place!!!
Nice place. Good beer selection. Food was ok depending on what you order. Burger French onion soup and pastrami on pretzel was good. Taco salad not. Way too many items on the menu.
Grew up in Hampton bays and this has been my favorite place to eat since I was a kid. Even had a good friend of mine ship me a jar of their buffalo sauce to me in St. Petersburg florida. Always my first stop when I’m home
We all agree the food is okay but the service is horrible. The manager ALWAYS has a bad attitude and the service is super slow.I do not recommend this place at all.

Ive been coming here for years. It WAS one of my fave spots in HB until today! It was my sisters birthday and we ordered some beef nachos to start. First, the Guac was super slimy, it was obviously not fresh at all, it looked really bad, we didnt eat it. The beef tasted a little odd too. My sister and I shared a Caesar salad and honestly the dressing was sooo gross it tasted almost like mayo. The cheese on it was tasteless. It just wasnt good. Finally, we ordered a French onion soup, (I think its worth mentioning that one of the reasons this was our spot WAS for their onion soup). I was so disappointed with it because it was sooooo salty I literally could not eat it. And I didnt eat it, I explained to the waitress why and she said the owner told her I still had to pay for it!!!!!!! I dont like making a scene at restaurants so I didnt even try to argue with them. I dont know what happened to this place, my sisters and I were super disappointed. The food is just not the same. Gators Is no longer one of our favorite spots in Hampton bays. Probably will not go back again anytime soon. Really cant believe how gross the food was as opposed to a year ago or so. Also cant believe we had to pay for a soup we didnt even eat, let alone that terrible food. Really disappointed.
Ribs and the rest of the food was great but had to nock off two stars for the sodas. They are $3 each with no refill. Probably would not go back because of that.
Absolutely amazing! The food is really good, the prices are very modest, and their staff is welcoming and friendly (shout out to Brooke!). Will definitely be coming back!!!

Gator wings are the best Buffalo Wings in the area , and also if you like pasta and seafood the linguine alagator is amazing, I highly recommend it.
Had a terrible experience just trying to order take out!!! Rude Donald has caused me to never ever ever spend money here ever again!! Save yourself the trouble, go to Buckleys their food us better anyway.
Solid burger and good wings. A nice break from the white collar places that abound in the Hamptons. Prices are nice as well. I’ll stop by next time I’m around.

Got take out of wings with the sauce on the side 2 soups and a French dip.... got all the way home to southampton they forgot the sauce and celery and blue cheese... when we called to let them know the rude lady blamed us for not checking the whole order before we left.... Plus the French dip was Inedible The roast beef was hard and obviously old multi colored.. never used to have a problem here but this is ridiculous!

The food was terrible. Frozen chicken fingers, dried out pastrami, fish tacos with very little fish. They were better a couple years ago ,now I think they just dont care.

First and last time at Gator. Barmaid(sourpuss) needs attitude adjustment. Asked to move my chair twice by regulars. Lady next to me must have asked nine timeswhat should I have to eat? All the women at the bar looked like they had been rode hard and put away wet! Beer and glass were cold though. So 2 stars.
My favorite is the 16oz boneless angus strip steak with sauteed onions and a baked potato (salad included) - you are getting way more than 16oz of boneless char-broiled-on-the-flame prime steak with alot of marbling, thats awesome and totally worth it - the sauteed onions are so damn good that i could eat that alone - one serving will fill you up - awesome food is pricey, cheap food is bland, if you want an affordable steak dinner, go to outback - thank you gators for hitting my spot every time with these steak dinners !
Food is decent but service is too slow. Having to wait 45 minutes for a salad when there was only 4 tables in the restaurant being served was frustrating.

Horrible places!! It is horrible being ignored for an hour and waiting for appetizers for an whole hour is horrendous!! The manager has an attitude!! Who wants to sit there with kids and wait an hour for appetizers!!

2020-03-06Another awesome dinner at Gators! We started at the bar to enjoy a little happy hour. The group assay the beat were very friendly, sliding down to get us 4 seats together.The bartender was very nice, Im sorry that I didnt get any names. She took great care of us.We ordered the bar pie with pepperoni...awesome. They have some nice specials.For dinner, I got my favorite escargot with the 3 slices of garlic toast. Oh man.... when they came out, it was time to go to town. The escargot were amazing and the chef gave me an amazing portion...... many wells had 2 in each, oh baby.For dinner, we ordered the marinated steak special. It was delicious. The status were nicely cooked, med rare with a nice char. The flavor just mouth watering. I really lived the gravy in the meshed potatoes too!Our waitress was slacking and the service outstanding!Gators always hits the mark!

2022-07-09My lady and i tried this place cause we saw a review on their chicken wings and wanted to try it. Chicken wings seemed like they were airfried or tossed in a deep fryer and then tossed in sauce. The sauce was the seasoning for the chicken wings i guess.My Lady had the Chicken Quesadilla. Which was pretty good cheese was a great consistency and the outer wrap was the right amount of crispy. However the rice it came with was very salted. Like it had cubes of bouillon tossed in it.I order the junior burger it came with the curly fries which looked great but I wanted the sweet potatoe fries so I asked for the exchange and in the process my burger went from medium-well to well WELL done. Otherwise the sweet potatoe fries were great with my own batch of Chipotle ranch sauce at home.Btw this was a Saturday at noon

2021-11-26Make sure youre ready to bring home leftovers! Gators is more than worth the price! My girlfriend and I ordered fish sliders and the clam linguini and we both brought home dinner for tomorrow! Brooke was absolutely spot on as our server and had a sunny attitude to brighten the rainy day outside! Cant wait to come back!

2021-07-20The food is amazing. The servers are the same from years ago. It is not fancy but everything you order comes out great. I always order the black bean burger and it is as good as it was 15 years ago. They are consistent. My go to nowadays is their Gorgonzola salad with walnuts and cranberries. You can have it topped with salmon or chix etc. I usually get the shrimp. This is the best salad in town!
