Seriously the most refined Indian cuisine Ive had in New York. Everyone should visit at least once if your in the city.Multilayered flavours that devote more to artistry than merely heat and garam masala from a jar (the Indian version of Italian seasoning) here, each dish has its own distinctive flavor and texture. Me and my friend order quiet more than our appetite but best was kodi sukha (chicken appetizer) & Tandoori Pineapple. Tandoori pineapple was finger Licking. It had sweet and tangy flavor. I still can’t get my head out of that taste YUM YUM YUM 🤤 . Kodi sukka was great. It had coconut flavor with some herbal spices all together two different flavors in both dish. Ambience was quiet decent. Like their interior quiet simple but elegant. I will surely visit next time with my entire family and friends. Staff were as good and swt as their food was. One of my new favorite place in New York. Keep up the good work guys. Thank you for your service and delightful evening.
Excellent food and service. Very authentic and tasty food. Ordered cauliflower Manchurian- crisp and nice. Pomfret grilled - perfectly cooked. Chicken Tika - nicely marinated and cooked. Also paneer was fresh and home made. The entries were good portions and very reasonably priced. Will come again.
Went with a friend who had to take me to the supposed best Indian restaurant in NYC according to TikTok. Yes, insert eye roll. But I was pleasantly surprised and my taste buds were completely blown away. Every dish was so tasty an delightful in its own way, it’s hard to say which was my favorite. Absolutely loved the bok choy chaat and the pani puri was worth every single calorie. Can’t wait to go back!
Great place for some good north Indian food! Not the biggest fan of the biryani or the wings but the lemon chicken curry was excellent, and worth the five stars by itself. The flavors were quite nuanced and not your usual butter chicken/ chicken kadhai flavor profile. The paneer dish and chicken sukka we had were pretty decent as well.
I found out about Gazab through tik tok and it’s definitely one of the better Indian restaurants I’ve been to in NYC.This place easily had the best Gobi Manchurian I’ve ever had 🔥-perfect ratio of saucy, crispy and spicy. I also ordered the lemon chicken was very well prepared and filling.Service was phenomenal- the waiters showed pictures of dishes on the menu if we asked and offered their recommendations. The food came out in a timely manner as well. The place is kind of small and tight so it does get rather loud and makes it a little tough to have conversations, but other than that, we had a great experience.
We got lucky to get table when we walked in, however the server helped us understand its reservation only place. The tandoor pineapple was cooked right amount and was very juicy. My fav is fish, it reminded me of fish I had back home in India. Chicken was very tender in Biryani. Would love to visit the place again.
Gazab was incredible! Got the Gobi Manchurian, Kale/Spinach Paneer and the Biryani. All three dishes were amazing and Aman, the owner, was really nice. Great ambiance too. One of the better Indian spots I’ve been to recently and they made everything extra spicy when asked to.
The best modern Indian food I ever had, the service was superb by Saurabh That knows the menu by hard and give you all the knowledge you need to know before ordering. I had the Tandoori Pineapple that was a piece of art, the biryani chicken and the Rasmali that was amazing. A place you must visit in nyc
Okay I know you are looking for a review so here it is… appetizer were nice ;) pic attached. Must try the pineapple 🍍!! Surprise in your mouth. We ate all the starter and they were the best items. The fish is also amazing :) main course was okay - nothing I went crazy about and the desert … well I want more choices then the crème brûlée with gulag jamun!!Small place but a big heart place :) try all the apps ;) only 3 waiters - young guy was amazing and served everything on que. enjoyed the food :) semi authentic Indian food but yummy 😋sorry I ate the fish before the pic
We had a birthday lunch. Small place with a small open kitchen. Eight of us had a good timeWe had a few different appetizers. My personal favorite was grill pineapple 🍍 and gobi from the appetizer.Entree was nice too, also I will love to recommend anyone and help small businesses.I took a take-out salmon tikka for my staff but it was pretty good so I end up having it and did not feel guilty.Recently I went back again and tried their lunch. Excellent service and good food.
In mood for some authentic Indian food, look nowhere else other than this spot in LES. Visited it for my parent’s anniversary and the server was incredible in taking care of our every request, super energetic and full of life! We ordered the Kale & Spinach Paneer, Chef’s Special Rampuri Taar Gosht, and Hydrabadi Chicken Dum biryani. We also got Garlic naan, and it was heavenly! My mother’s an amazing chef herself and she loved the Kale & Spinach Paneer. It was made to absolute perfection, with respect to blend of spices, blend of kale to spinach to paneer ratio, the seasoning on the paneer itself. In her words, there was a party in her mouth which she didn’t ever want to end!The chef’s special gosht(lamb) was very tender! And the rest of the group devoured it with garlic naan and biryani in a matter of minutes despite very generous portions of each dish!Last but not the least, let me take a moment to acknowledge the fabulous taste of Pomegranate Rasmalai. I’ll summarize it’s taste by saying that two of four in our party didn’t want dessert but we all ended up fighting for it till the last bite! You couldn’t end your meal on a sweeter note!!Definitely go to this spot if you want authentic Indian food made with the New York flare!
Lovely people and amazing food! We had the Kori Sukka (fried chicken) and Bok Choy Chaat to start, followed by the Dum Biryani. I wished we could order more but it was more than enough food for two. The Chaat was my absolute favorite! I’ll be back for the Naans and curries next. Ooh, and be sure to order the Mango Lassi.
From the customer service to the divine flavors of the food, this place goes above and beyond. The restaurant itself is decorated with a modern desi splash and the staff makes it a point to pay close attention to detail to their set up and general ambience. I ordered the Hyderabadi dum biryani and the salmon tikkas. Both dishes not only tasted amazing but were served fresh and presented beautifully. I’ll be sure to make a visit here every time I’m in town!
This place is soooo tasty! I found this place from a tiktok and it blew my expectations out of the water! I had a reservation for 12:30 and they were able to seat me right away. The staff was extremely excellent and the food was extremely fresh. I had garlic naan and the Parsi lamb salli. The lamb was extremely tender with a stellar tomato based sauce and the garlic naan was simply profection! I wish I could give it TEN stars. Best Indian food that I’ve ever had.
I’ve tried just about every Indian restaurant in Manhattan and this is by far my favorite! Not a single dish missed - and I was constantly surprised by how amazingly well everything was executed. The plating is wonderful, the prices are affordable, and the vibes are great. Definitely a great place for people new to Indian food and anyone that grew up with it. My favorite was the Jackfruit Kadhi Pakoda and Tandoori Pineapple.
Absolutely the best Indian food in Manhattan! We have tried Indian food at a lot of Indian restaurants in Manhattan and most of them do not serve authentic Indian food. But Gazab stays true to its roots and blows you away with their amazing dishes. The Tandoori Pomfret, Kori Sukka and Jackfruit Kadhi are must try dishes! The service was amazing and special shout-out to our server Sourabh who gave us the perfect suggestions!
What an eclectic and exciting twist to Indian cuisine. We came across this restaurant walking by and it looked interesting. Little did we know that we found an up and coming restaurant that had just opened a few months back before all the hype kicks in.The two owners hail as chefs from Michelin star restaurants and just opened this gem. They were serving the tables, talking to customers and we exchanged a few stories of how the support from the huge influx of customers has been shocking them! It was cool to talk to the owner and him telling us which dish he’d made as we were enjoying each bite! Now, onto the food, I don’t think there’s a dish here you won’t enjoy. Also talk to the owners and they’ll recommend what to get. We just kept going with their recommendations.- (20/10) paneer - this is handmade paneer and the texture and the flavor reflects that. Get it!!- (10/10) tandoori pineapple - this was my wife’s favorite dish and it was one of the unique dishes I’ve had. The pineapple was charred beautifully. I’m not a person who likes their pineapple in savory dishes and I too appreciated it.- (10/10) chaat - I forget the name of the chaat and think it was a special and likely had bok choy . Again incredible!- jackfruit kadhi pakoda- I’ve had my fair share of kadhi pakoda and this may sit atop that list. The pakoda and the kadhi are perfection!- chole- don’t forget to get the side of Chole. It’s their best kept secret!
Excellent experience with modern twist to Indian flair. We tried most of the appetizers. Beet Dahi Puri, Shezwan wings, Bok Choy chaat and Tandoori Pineapple. All the appetizers were excellent but my favorite were the Shezwan wings and Tandoori Pineapple. These are must try items. The experience of cool Aam Panna reminded me of a drink from back home. The shared dishes we got were Goan shrimp Vindaloo, Hyderabadi Chicken dum Biryani, and Rampuri taar gosht. I enjoyed all shared dishes but two of my personal favorites that you should try are Chicken Dum Briyani and Rampuri taar gosht. The service and food was at a par with Michelin star. A must try place with Gazab ka Swad👍
I’ll start with the bad…the serviceI went on Sunday evening for a 7pm reservation. It was quite busy with about 10 people waiting outside. I was annoyed at having to wait despite having a reservation. I arrived at about 6:55 pm and was sat at 7:45 pm. Part of the 10 people waiting outside was a 6:30 reservation that also waited almost an hour to get seated. There was only one person serving the entire ~30 person restaurant. He was kind, polite but also looked quite stressed so understandably, it seemed as though I’d been forgotten when it came to being seated or getting anything I needed. I do not blame him though as he was very professional and actually attempted a conversation with me even though he had a lot to do.Atmosphere was okay. Its a small place so it can feel a little cramped but I think it adds to the look and feel of an authentic restaurant. I’d prefer the music a little less loud with whiter/more neutral lighting but that’s just my opinion.I ordered a tikka masala from the shared plates section on the menu. I’m not sure what they mean by shared plates because the portions were quite small. Barely enough for one hungry adult to fill up on. I added some naan though plus I wasnt very hungry so I ended up being okay. And now for the good…the foodI ordered as soon as I sat down at 7:45 pm and it took 10 minutes to get the order. The food was amazing. Flavors were well blended with absolutely amazing presentation. The food melted in my mouth and I could actually taste the different spices and flavors in everything. Nothing was overpowering. Just the right amount of sweet, spice and flavorful. Simply amazing. The dishware added to the look and feel of the place. I cannot stress this enough. The food and its presentation do not disappoint. They definitely live up to their name with this. For the quality of food, the prices were actually not bad. You’ll get some awesome food for a tab that won’t break the bank.Generally okay visit. I gave them 3 stars mostly for the food but if they can work on their service and portions, I’ll definitely be a returning visitor.
Absolute gem of a place in the heart of NYC! What they lack in space, they more than make up with their food and service! The best, most value for money Indian food in NYC. Everything from their tikkas to their chaat, their goat curry, lemon chicken and biryani and then the most outstanding gulab jamun creme brûlée!! Everything was phenomenal, MUST TRY
My husband & I were bar hopping when I came across Gazab! True to its name - their patiala chicken tikka was Gazabbbb - with the extra bs LOL!We need to go back to try more stuff. We were bar hopping so didnt want to fill ourselves up. However, their tikkas were so good we had 2 plates at the restaurant and ordered 3 plates to go for our friends (who also relished it btw)Also - cute minimalistic decor with a great choice of tableware.
I have been to so many Indian fusion restaurants in New York City and most of them make non Indian dishes and add Indian flavors or ingredients to the dish. @gazabnyc on the other hand has something different to offer, they have authentic Indian dishes on their menu and have used unimaginable ingredients to create those dishes. Every single thing that we tasted was a treat to our palette and transformed us to food coma.Something simple like Mango Lassi tasted so delicious, there was no mess with flavors and it tasted authentic. Some of the other vegetarian dishes on their menu is Beet Dahi Puri, Boy Choy Chaat, Tandoori Pineapple and Artichoke Mattar Makhana. The menu is not extensive but they have executed every single dish to perfection. Some of the fusions that was new to us blew our mind and I must say every dish was screaming innovative and creative. The food was beautifully presented with edible flowers and micro greens that made food look even more appealing. The service and ambiance was equally good. This is a new gem in the city and I am definitely returning back with my friends and family. My favorite dishes were Gobi manchurian, it was so crispy from outside and soft from inside and it was served with sour cream that tastes so delicious and the Artichokes Mattar Makhana, have never tried anything taste so delicious.I highly recommend checking out this restaurant.Checkout detailed review on my website Vspiceroute.com
Literally the best Indian food I’ve had in NYC!! We drive all the way from Long Island to enjoy this amazing food. Everything is perfect. I can tell they have an amazing chef. Food is very unique. It’s hard to find this kind of food anywhere else in NYC. I enjoy the paneer tikka the most !!
I loved how Gazab has a balance of both modern and authentic dishes. Their appetizers are more on the creative and fusion side while their main dishes are classic, authentic entrees. For appetizers/ starters, we had the Gobi Munchurian, Beet Dahi Puri, Tandoori Pineapple, and Bok Choy Chaat. The presentation of the appetizers were on point! My favorite would be the Beet Dahi Puri and Bok Chot Chaat. For entrees, we had Butter Chicken, Bombay Kheema Pao, and Goan Shrimp Vindalo. Every single dish had so much flavor. The Butter chicken was flavorful and creamy, paired great with rice and naan. My favorite was the Bombay Kheema which was served with Pao bread. I usually don’t order lamb dishes because they tend to have a strong smell but this dish was cooked to perfection!Price is quite reasonable but personally think the taste plates (appetizers) are a bit on the higher side ($11-$14). The shared plates (entrees) range from $17 to $22. Portions are good can be shared among 2 to 3 people. The interior is a bit on the smaller size but is well decorated with a mural painting and small framed artworks. The servers were very welcoming and attentive (refilling water, removing finished dishes).Definitely worth checking out!
One of the best Indian food I would say, if you are vegetarian and like spicy food, go for pahadi paneer tikka. They have very limited menu but whatever they have is amazing. Would definitely go again whenever I am in NY. Recommended one of our friends m and they too love the place. I would suggest to book the place in advance if you are going with group.
Had to come check out the talk of the town, it’s a new Indian Restaurant in LES. Walked in , pretty small place but the staff was very welcoming. Got seated right away and they brought out Mango Lassi for us. Food was delicious , one of the best Indian restaurant in the city. My favorite was the Dum Biryani.Ambiance- 10/10Service - 10/10WiFi- Not SureLarge Groups - Call In AdvanceParking - Street
From the service to the food, this place is amazing. The plates are beautiful but it doesnt end there. The flavor combinations and freshness of each plate were out of this world. If youre ever on this side of town definitely try this spot out and even if you arent its worth the time to come here.
Went here a week ago with a couple friends and everything was fantastic! They make authentic tasting dishes using local, fresh, and modern ingredients. The staff and chef were so welcome and eager to make us happy, and boy did they succeed! As part of their opening month offer, they immediately served us some delicious mango lassis and samosas. Both were top notch. We started with the bok choy chaat, which looked stunning and tasted great. The sauces were yummy, and the garnishes of edible flower petals and pomegranate seeds was not only beautiful, but made the dish refreshing and floral as well as decadent!By FAR our favorite dish was the artichoke Mattar makhana: I’d never had artichoke in an indian dish, but it was so delicious I wish it were a staple! The fox nuts on top gave a huge texture difference and were fun and exciting to eat with the artichoke, which was rich, intensely flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Highly recommend. Finally, we had the Hyderabadi chicken biryani, which was as well spiced and satisfying as many of the best homemade biryanis I’ve had. If we hadn’t already stuffed ourselves full with the first two dishes, we would have devoured this one just as quickly. The only thing I’d say is that I wished there were a tad more flavor for the amount of rice there was, but other than that it was perfect. As if the free drink and appetizer weren’t enough, the chef gave us gulab jamun for a free dessert afterward! None of us had any room left (or the sweet tooth required for most South Asian sweets) to fully enjoy the dessert, but even so it was rich and flavorful with rose and saffron. Please make this place a regular stop for modern but deeply flavorful food, like we are planning on doing any time we are in the area!
I do not know how they have got 4.7 rating. The food was just average and on top of that the service was below average. The space inside was very congested and so it was suffocating inside. No one served water, was only served on asking for it after 15 minutes. Food came late.
The BEST Indian restaurant in NYC. Love the food. Chef has done a great job in creating the menu. Love the fusion. Keep it up. Coming from hospitality background I can tell that you all going to great things. We need restaurants like this all over the states!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This resturant has a warm and inviting environment. The presentation on the plate is always delightful. Each bite of food hitting your taste buds with exotic warm flavors. Staff always friendly and ready to help. The only negative is the prices. A bit expensive compared to other restaurants serving the same things. Despite the prices, I rate this place a five star for their success in bringing the authentic flavors to our city that so many miss from back home. Keep up the great work.
Hidden gem on Essex street went with my friends at this place recommended by my friends tried most of the dishes all the dishes were unique in appearance with very classic taste and close to the taste of India and I had nostalgia of my motherland India will visit again .
This new little restaurant is a must try!Four artistic walls, good music & an amazing staff. Our waiter was friendly and allowed us to choose from the few vegetarian options there were. They used unique ingredients to make wholesome meals.Would highly recommend adding this place to your list! Not pictured: bok Choy pakoda which was amazing & grilled pineapple 🍍
The food at Gazab is simply out of the world. The new Indian spot balances traditional Indian spice and flavor with innovative fusion to create a standout experience. The best Indian place in East Side 1st Ave Manhattan and maybe all of New York City, GAZAB is one of those restaurants that you won’t be able to shut up about until at least two people from your social circle try it for themselves. All of the meat tastes like it’s been marinated for days before it reaches your mouth in all of its smoky, and spicy glory. The Briyani, shrimp vindaloo and lamb …“This is my favorite and most authentic Indian spot, food by young talented Chefs.
The experience at Gazab exceeded my expectation and it was absolutely fabulous. Not only were our menu choices--Bok Choy Chaat, Patiala Chicken Tikka-, Goan Shrimp Vindaloo, Jackfruit Khadi Pakoda,Hyderabadi Chicken Dum Biryani and the Gazab Ka Murgh --delicious our conversations with Adi made the experience even more enjoyable. The food was prepared with so much care and the flavors were incredible! The Bollywood beauty on the wall sure added to the desi ambience. Hope to see more unique dishes added to the menu.
Brand new restaurant on Essex, great atmosphere, yummy dishes, excellent service waiter was great and the chef was humble. The appetizers; samosas, dahi puri and tikka was yummy. The dal makhani, parsi lamb and Hyderabadi biryani was delicious. We had the ras malai and gulab jamun dessert. Wall mural painting was also super cute!!
Five out of five from me!!!! Truly awesome….Every dish is very creatively designed and prepared with utmost care. The outcome is simply delicious food with a hint of Indian dhaba (restaurants on highways) flavors and vibes. The best is the team Gazab on the ground - cheerful, accommodating and works with customers!!!Amazing experience
I have been in Gazab to experience Indian food . I had bokchoy chaat , rampuri taar ghost, biryani and garlic naan it was really amazing . The garlic naan is well cooked . I like the way they present the rampuri taar ghost with that Smokey flavor. The atmosphere is good and the server is friendly .
The food was overall pretty good but the wait time was really long. My friends & I waited almost 45 mins for the food to come out. They did serve mine first but didn’t give me any rice and because I wanted to wait for my friends food to come, mine got cold. They need a better system on serving quicker and serving everyone together.
The food was pretty good but nothing remarkable compared to other Indian food I’ve tried. The portion sizes were too small: we were 3, and we needed 3 appetizers and a “sharing size” entree to get full. Also, the place felt cramped. The ventilation was bad and it was hard to maintain a conversation with how loud it was.
Es un restaurante pequeño pero la comida y el servicio es increíble. 100% Recomendado la comida fue servida pronto, tienen varios menús disponibles pero mi favorito fue Gobi Munchurian & Bok Choy Chaat. / The presentation was creative and the food was delicious. The Gobi Munchurian & Bok Choy Chaat was probably my favorite dish. For two people, we had more than enough food with three appetizers. Menus are able to be scanned with a QR code. This was my first experience in over a year. We will be back.
A hidden whole in the wall. Absolutely fabulous place, a modern twist in Indian food. All of their apps was delicious. 555 wings was bomb and it was paired well with curry leaf ranch. Ranch was having a nice subtle taste of curry leaves.Lastly was mains I got butter chicken, lamb Salli boti garlic naan and biryani. Lamb salli boti and biryani won my heart. I was so full that I had to skip dessert but I’m having it next time . I will definitely visit this place back soon. Excited to try other dishes from their menu.Service was great Saurabh ( their staff ) helped us accommodate even though it was jam packed. He made it sure that all of their guest are happy.Chef Vamshi and Chef Aman gave us the best service. They came to our table and gave drop line of every food served.Price was reasonable good to see a good Indian restaurant in this neighborhood.
Their food was okay, Queens has better options and they didnt have the AC on during the biggest heat wave in NYC. Not sure if they were being cheap about the electricity bill but we left pretty shocked. Sad to say that we stayed for about 20 minutes and left just to cool off.
We had a really poor experience here, which was quite disappointing because we were looking forward to trying this restaurant. We had a reservation from a week prior. When we came in, two waiters stared at us for a while, but did not speak, even though we were the only ones standing up. After the awkward stare down, we eventually waived them over and asked to be seated. They looked at our reservation three times. Acknowledged that we had one, but still did not seat us. Fifteen minutes in.. We didnt leave since there were empty tables and finally a host from the kitchen sat us down in a table that had been there the entire time. We did not get water, napkins...anything. They ignored us for 30 minutes. In the meantime others who came with their reservations were immediately seated and served. We eventually got up and left. We went ended up going to a Thai place near. The service was great, which saved the night, but this experience was still very disappointing.
When you are in a foreign land and crave Indian cuisine, this is the best place for it. Tasted some authentic Indian dishes like Chicken Tikka masala, the mix of spices was just perfect making the food damn delicious. Not just the food the ambience and polite staff is just a plus. Overall had a great experience and would surely recommend this place.
This opened up where one of my favorite indian spots used to be and so it had big shoes to fill for me.We ordered the tandoori pineapple and wings for starters. Loved the wings but the tandoori pineapple is on a whole new level of flavor. You should get it.The Hyderabadi dum biryani was delicious. Had that along with the chefs special (rampuri tash ghost). I honestly came here for the biryani but the chefs special was my favorite entre. And instead of their dessert menu items we went with the dahi puri. That dahi puri took this from a 4 to 5 star. The chefs here are awesome and the staff is super friendly. Def coming back to try the rest of the menu
Absolutely AMAZING experience!!!!!!We were a party of 5 without reservation and were ready to wait. The staff has been super friendly and accommodated us. They have a very unique menu. We tried Gobi Manchurian, Koru Sukka, Garlic Naan, Kasauli Lemon Chicken curry, Hyderabad Chicken Dum Biryani, Dahi Puri and Gulab Jamun Crème Brûlée. Every single dish is a Gem!! Still can’t get over their food. They have created a very attractive ambience in the little space they have. Kudos to the owner for creating this beautiful place and uniquely crafting each dish. We will definitely come back here whenever we visit New York.
This place is truly a hidden gem in NYC. The food here is undoubtedly the best I’ve had in the city. Some of my favorites dishes are tandoori pineapple, Deccan salmon tikka, Chicken dum Biriyani and Kasauli lemon chicken. Five stars for their service, hospitality and definitely the YUMMY DELICIOUS FOOD!
Heard about this place from a TikTok post and it didn’t disappoint. We had to wait outside for 20 mins or so but it was worth the wait.It smells wonderful and tastes even better. All of the food was delicious but our favourites were the cauliflower appetizer and the biryani, which is quite an experience. The staff was friendly and helpful also. I highly recommend.
We decided to come here beacuse the videos on Instagram looked amazing. We came to celebrate my mother birthday. Today its 95 degrees in NYC and we walked in the restaurant and there was NO AIR CONDITIONER!!!! They had just 1 big fan. It was extremely HOT 🥵🥵🥵. I would think they would say something once we walk in bit they didnt. We sat down and I ask for a high chair for my son that is 7 and half months. The high chair had no seat belt🤦🏻♀️ after like 20 minutes of seating in the heat no one came to our table yo take pur order, mind you the restaurant is small there about 10 tables and there was like 2 other tables with ppl. I had to ask what look like the manager for our order since the waitress was no where to be found. They gave us hot water!! No ice knowing that its super hot. They never suggested anything and the waitress never said a one word to us. No drink where offer or anything like that. Once the food arrived. That was the only positive thing from this whole experience. The food was really good. But the service was extremely bad. I had to ask for ice a few times. I ask for napkins like 4 times they would literally give us 2 napkins at a time. I understand times are tough but come one we are getting our hands dirty with the food you can atleast give us napkins. They forgot to order the fish my mother ask for. Really sucks that the service was so bad beacuse the food was delicious.
Better to reserve a table in advance or else wait for 20-30mins.OrderedTandoori Pineapple - Didnt like it it was a bit salty and goat cheese on the top changes the taste of the pineapple. (0/5)Tandoori pomfret fish - it was good, could have used some garlic flavour on it. (3.5/5)Kasuli lemon chicken - very good Recommended to try this (5/5)Garlic naan - as expected good (5/5)Kale spinach paneer - it was good but did not taste like any other palak paneer. (4/5)
The staff was polite, but they never came over to ask us how everything was, or if we needed anything. It took a really long time to receive our entrées. I ordered the chicken Tika masala, it was very bland. The meat was over cooked. I asked for dark meat, but received dry white meat. The rice wasnt fresh. We also ordered the jack fruit dish. It was just ok. The nan bread was pretty good, though Ive had better. Over all, Not worth the trip
Great service. The space is small. Very good food.1. Bok choy chaat: battered bok choy with, yogurt sauce, pomegranate, edible orchid flower. Crunchy, mild spicy, and sour. 3/52. Hyderabadi chicken dum biryani: chicken is not too dry, just perfect, very flavorful. Medium spicy, very aromatic. LOVE this dish. (Ask for the chicken to be FULLY cooked. I see a little bit of pink, but that may be different part of chicken). 5/5!!!
Update:Went again with the family over the weekend. Really enjoyed my experience. Food was excellent and the service was great.Small space but it packs a punch! Went for dinner on Sat night with family. The place was packed but the service was spot on. Ordered paneer tikka, gobhi Manchuria , schezwan chicken, Samosa, butter naan and all of it was excellent. Veg biryani could have been better as the potatoes were a bit in cooked. Enjoyed the exp and will rerun for more. Nice job guys.
5 dollars for a can of coke overpriced indian food over spicy to cover up old food the price for the food is crazy. Small portions. Family members and friends have left 5 star reviews they are all indian. When posting for tic tok friends and family put on a show to say eat there. I am serious saving you some money stay clear of this place. Can I get my money back I was unable to eat the food ungodly pepper cramped space.
DISGUSTING FOOD, truth be told. Their chicken biryani has one piece of chicken and they have the NERVE TO CHARGE $22 and it tastes like a white person made it. Secondly, their lemon chicken did not specify what meat they used so I assumed it’s chicken cutlet or breast, ended up being THIGHS and it was so so poorly made and the meat looked uncooked. Cheap meat, cheap quality food. Please refrain. Save your money.
Normally wings are wings, but theirs 555 wings are lean meaty and tender, and delicious with there special sauce , I don’t think so any of india restaurant have that , with bira awesome. I had there matka biryani also then I understand why that restaurant call ‘ gazab ‘ love it
We visited Gazab and it’s really Gazab food & everything we ordered gobi manchurian it was really amazing, we loved all food . owner was really nice polite . I love the way they painted there wall it feels really amazing to seat there . Will visit soon for sureAnd really recommend this place
Great food and my server was excellent. However, to the owner - please note the place feels understaffed, which isn’t fair to your server who was excellent but working too many tables, and no one picked up my calls / messages beforehand. Not what I expected from a top rated restaurant
Easily the best Indian food in NYC. We ordered the bok choy chaat, kori sukka, gazab murgh tikka, parsi lamb salli boti, hyderabadi chicken dum biryani. There was also an eggplant dish but I forget the name. Sides were garlic nan and raita. Drinks were Aam Panna and the dessert was traditional rasmalai. There are a lot of incredible restaurants in NYC and when you take into consideration the cost, ease of getting a reservation, the atmosphere and food quality.. All of those things put Gazab securely in the company of the where’s where of places to eat.
Edit: been trying to make a reservation for 2-3 weeks now and it keeps being declined even though the reservation time is showing as available on resy. Super disappointing since this has happened to me 4 times now and I’ve given up wanting to go back.Hands down one of the best Indian food I’ve tried. Everything we ordered was soo good, no complaints. The star dishes were gobi manchurian and chicken korma. Definitely recommend!
Reserved twice and was cancelled twice the day before my booking. Why dont you guys come out of the Middle Ages and just use Resy/Opentable instead of having people send you a request to reserve, acknowledging that request a few days later and then cancelling a few days after that? This is incredibly frustrating and nonsensical.
It is not often that I try indian at nyc since i cook indian myself at home but I happened to come across this restaurant on insta and one look at the pics had me hooked..so the first chance I got I took friends along to try this place and Im glad I chose Gazab for dinner.Absolutely authentic with a delightful twist to some of the food.We ordered almost all the starters on the menu as a party of 6 and not a morsel left on the plates. The mains were just as good especially the lamb. I would definitely ask anyone looking for a taste of home to try this restaurant. Im sure you will enjoy the food here. Hats off to the hard work of the two head chefs and the people who work there to make the place a must visit. Thank you for having us Gazab!!!!!
The food was beautiful, innovative, and tasty. The gobi was spicefully delicious, as was the bok choi chat. Not all the dishes hit the mark, but they were all interesting and I would return. The restaurant had chill vibes and excellent service, but was a bit loud at times.
Gazab restaurant was amazing! Me and my friends went there to grab some Indian food and they did not disappoint us! Our server made sure that we are well taken care of. And we met the owner of the restaurant Aman he’s so nice and even gave us a one complimentary appetizer! Everything was amazing especially the food!!! I would definitely come back to this restaurant 👌🏻
This was probably one of best dining experiences in NYC to date. The restaurant rings of passion, the server, and staff expressing how deeply they care for us to have a good experience. The server even took the time to explain how they make everything was made from scratch including the Paneer. It was amazing to eat at Gazab and the food was outstanding! I highly recommend sampling as many dishes as possible.
This place was one of the MOST DELICIOUS restaurants I have ever been to. The food was amazing, the service was amazing and I loved every single dish. We only got a few dishes to share, but quickly ordered more because everything was so delicious. So happy to have found this place and cannot wait to come back. Id recommend everyone try this place!!!
Excellent! must try!I literally ordered everything in the appetizer menu, the selection isn’t overwhelming, it’s just enough for you to find something without analysis paralysis, which is great !they have excellent small tweaks on classical Indian dishes, which makes the taste unique, but skip the Dahi Puri, it’s basic AF! Your money is better spent on some other dish!
This is one of the best Indian restaurants Ive been to on the East Coast. The food was delicious, authentic and unique. Please try the bok choy chaat if you do get a chance. Not many places can pull off fusion without compromising taste and authenticity but Gazab hits the mark. This was hands down one of my favorite dining experiences ever!
Wow! Really loved this place. The vibe is so good there! The food is so delicious. Flavorful, yummy, cooked just right. I ordered bokchoychaat and my husband got jack fruit kadhi with a side of garlic naan (ordered another basket). The service was impeccable. Everyone was helping each other out with refills, delivery, and cleaning. Then they bagged our food for us too. Seriously would recommend giving this place a try at least once because I hope you experience what we did. Not only great food but great service too. The name suits itself.Gazab..Just yesss!
From The Ambiance to as you enter to the appetizers and main dishes like tikka and biryani ... and others for everyone to try and taste, made sure our taste buds felt the flavor!! further they surprised us with amazing gulag jamun and ras malai like a cherry on top!!

2022-05-04Awesome food !!Full of flavor! It is less spicy. The first appetizer item on the menu is excellent. It is a small hot crunch ball with cold yogurt and spicy something inside. Hot, cold, spicy, sweet taste all in one bit. The curry and other food is very flavorful. Naan bread is very good.

2022-05-29I have tried Indian food before, but I think this is the closest one to the original flavors.Dont get me wrong, it was a good place but some stuff were too strong for me...The place is really tiny so theres no much room for movement. The attention was okay.Theres no much more to say about this place.

2022-08-17Great Indian fusion food with the touch of the classic flavor. Loved their Kori Sukka non-vegetarian appetizer. This is not a fine dining restaurant so don’t expect a great dining area but their food is delicious.

2022-04-14Gazab Experience, tasty food - not your usual Indian restaurant.Booked a table for four, had to wait for 15 minutes despite the reservation, but the wait was worth it.Ordered Gobi Manchurian, Paneer Tikka and Tandoori Pineapple in starters, each dish was different in itself and was up to the mark, the paneer was very soft (layer found out they make it in-house) and had a strong green chutney flavor. Also ordered Aam Panna and Mango Lassi, liked the lassi more. For main course we got the Kasauli Lemon Chicken, Garlic Naan and Chicken Biryani.Hands down one of the best Indian chicken dishes I’ve had in NYC. The pieces were cooked perfectly and had a smoky flavor, the gravy was perfectly spicy and creamy.Chicken Biryani came in a sealed Handi, and tasted really good, strong flavors and was perfectly spicy. The quantity could have been a little more, but for the price and the taste I can’t complain.Had a chat with the owner/host who was very open and friendly and suggested us other places around NYC to try. Overall it was a fun evening, and really enjoyed the food, going back soon to try other delicacies.Great Job Gazab!

2022-07-02Went to this place on a Friday evening of the long weekend. I cant bring myself to give them less stars because the food was 5/5. However, the ambiance was 3/5. The tables are too close together and everything is very loud. They need to buy a bigger space given their quality of food is so good. Would love to go again at a quieter time.We started off with Kori Sukha and BokChoy chat both of which were perfectly spiced dishes. They had the perfect amount of hotness as well (neither too much nor too little). We ordered the chicken tikka masala, which tasted like butter chicken but minus the sweetness, which was perfect! We finished the meal off with gulab jamun crème brûlée, which was a very different and new concept for us but delicious nonetheless. They do serve wine and beer. There are a few municipal parking lots, paid parking lots and plenty of street parking in the area for those that are driving.

2022-09-04I had heard and read a lot about this place so decided to give it a try. We were seated as soon as we got in. It is a small space so definitely call ahead for a large group if you dont wish to wait. We ordered Kasauli Lemon chicken, garlic naan and chicken dum biryani. The presentation looked great but the food was strictly average. The dum biryani had a strong bitter flavor which stays in your mouth for a while. The Kasauli Lemon chicken was extremely sour and tangy. The yogurt and lemon definitely didnt go well together. I cringed with each bite. I was hoping it would be creamy with a slight hint of lemon. But it was so sour that it felt like I was having kadhi with chicken. The quantity of food is also less compared to the price.I dont quite understand the hype around this place. I have eaten better biryani in small unpopular joints than here.
