Amazing place! Had my iPhone 4 custom back cover looked at. Bought it from eBay. Turns out the seller didn’t do the right alignments, either purposely or by mistake. So we got suggested an iPhone 4 “skin” for my iPhone 4.Great service! I highly recommend! Any problems you’ve got, ask Geek Shop!
I took my laptop to the Geek Shop in Park Slope. I was expecting it had a real serious problem and would incur a corresponding big bill. The computer was on for a lengthy period of time. After that it wouldn’t come on and when it did the screen kept blacking out and a BIOS update message kept counting down then recycling.I was very pleased by the service I received at the shop. Stanley was very professional. He plugged in my laptop, gave me some cautionary advice and had my laptop up and running- like with a magic touch. So far I haven’t had any further problems- and as a courtesy- he even waived the fee!I recommend this location for courteous and efficient service.
I needed a new screen and battery for my iPhone 7. Stanly was there for me and provided quick, efficient, and high-quality service. The whole thing took less than 20 minutes. The service was very courteous, and the place was clean and neat. And, the repair price was very reasonable. It is also important to note that this shop is open on Saturdays.
Im a tech oriented person but when I accidentally hit delete on 5 gb of pictures I needed professional help. I tried to recover on my own but the software available is misleading and unreliable. The guys at the geek shop recovered the pictures quickly and for cheaper than i wouldve been able to myself.
Stanley was an incredible help to me in fixing a memory issue with my MacBook that was running low on RAM. He presented me with my options and quickly helped me find the item I needed before making the necessary repairs in no time at all. ⚡️ Now my laptop is good as new and faster than ever! This guy is a lifesaver. I had to fix my Oneplus6T phone screen because it was unresponsive but not cracked. I called DOZENS of other shops but all gave me the same typical responses. When I called Geek Shop he asked me some small but critical follow up questions. He mentioned there was a rare chance that the screen was just disconnected but couldnt be sure unless he opened it up to check.Low and behold, that was the solution. I would have never known this to be a possible solution unless he simply asked me why the screen stopped working.The bottom line is that he saved me almost $150 bucks and a ton of headaches with his attentiveness and responsiveness. He also refused to take a tip. Huge thanks Geek Shop!
I never write reviews but GEEK SHOP was THE BEST! I came in with a very broken iphone11 screenon the Friday after Thankgsgiving, thinking my phone was beyond fixable, it had a mind of its own, switching apps, calling people, sending crazy texts....scary! I was desperate to get it fixed before my an upcoming trip I had first thing Monday am. Stanley was there and super nice and helpful. He didnt have the screen I needed in stock, and after going through other options, he went out of his way to get a new screen for me the next day b/c his next shipment wouldnt come until Monday, after I leave. He called me the next morning to tell me he had it and I came right over. I dropped it off, came back 25 min. later and voila! My phone was fixed, good as new! I was so happy and relieved! I highly highly recommend! Fast, friendly, excellent quality service and products! I will always come here when I need something fixed and highly recommend! :-)
Excellent customer service. They got the job done, and quickly.Great follow through. I brought in my hard drive. They assessed and told me it needed a new reader. They gave me an option to order a part myself or have them do it. Within 24 hours, I had my drive back and could access my files. Well done! I will use them again.
I had a great experience with the Geek Shop. I dropped my favorite laptop with the plug power source plug in. The socket broke and a new power plug wouldnt stay in without holding it in somehow..I emailed them and they responded promptly,I made an appt and dropped it off when the part came in. It took about 2 hours to repair including some soldering work. I needed the PC back quickly.Perfect job done. Quickly at a fair price.
My daughter cracked her iphone screen and I wanted to get it fixed locally -- and not pay an arm & a leg. Geek Shop was great! We were able to get a same day appointment. They were very professional and the price was reasonable compared to a few other places I called. They fixed the screen while we took a short walk and it looks great. Its been about 10 days and my daughters phone started to have a shadow on the screen. We went back to the store and asked them to take a look. I was worried it was a flawed screen. Nope. My daughter had gotten her phone wet (teenagers!!!). They dried it out. Didnt charge us anything. It still has a bit of a shadow but works just fine. Lesson: teenagers are very hard on their phones but Geek Shop is awesome. Great service. Very professional. I would highly recommend them!
My work computer stopped functioning. They took it in and fixed it up in less than a day at an excellent price. They were extremely professional and kept in contact with me about price and the state of the laptop. Would highly recommend for anyone else having computer problems.
The customer service here is exceptional! I walked in with a screen that was destroyed, my phone was so crack that there were pieces of it missing. Stanley fixed it in 15 minutes at a great price. I couldnt believe how fast he brought my phone back to live. I highly recommend this place to anyone who needs their screen fixed.
Amazing crew. Saved me hundreds of dollars, honest, quick and efficient. After being told that my laptop battery was dead by a big corporate thing, they not only were honest, but reconfigured my laptop for a fraction of the cost and time. This place is fantastic. Friendly and knowledgeable staff, very safe for Covid and so helpful with all tech problems large and small. I’ve been there three times in past six months and have recommended it to everyone I know who needs help with device repair. They fixed our laptop, our iPad and when our antique iPod touch couldn’t be fixed they waived the usual fee for diagnosis which I would have happily paid. Highly recommend.
This place is fantastic and Stanley provided excellent professional service. I brought in a Lenovo laptop that my teenage son damaged and they did a lot of thoughtful trouble shooting. The price was very fair and reasonable (way less than Geek Squad at Best Buy) and the customer service was outstanding. I hope I never need another computer repaired but if I do, I wouldnt hesitate to go back to Geek Shop.
Absolutely the best computer repair shop Ive ever been to. The owner is so nice and willingly to explain and take time yo answer all questions. He does whatever it takes to help you out, and you can tell he honestly cares about helping people. This is such a better experience than the official Apple store down the street. Go here!
Excellent service. I went to fix my cracked iPhone 7 Plus screen, which was $50 cheaper than going to the Apple Store. Moreover, the service was quick. Stanley - the owner - was very helpful and professional. I’d recommend coming here for technical issues for mobile devices.
These guys really know their stuff and are very professional. Brought a google pixel that was both water damaged and physically damaged. Their technician was able to diagnose and repair something as specific as a broken solder joint. A+++ repair quality and the prices were very reasonable as well!
This is my new go-to place for computer repairs!!! What sets Geek Shop apart is that Stanley has direct business connections with vendors and he was able to replace my laptop monitor very quickly. It originally took over 3 months since the start of Covid and a previous repair shop simply gave up on me after they received two broken replacements online. Geek Shops price was fair and Stanley helped me wrap up the laptop as well. They have great customer service and spends the time to address all the issues. I highly recommend! :D
I was frantically nervous when my Razer Phones power button wouldnt turn my phone on. I tried everything but unfortunately, due to the power button failure, I couldnt even hard reset it. I tried to call tech shops all over NYC to see if they would repair a gaming phone but most places would only repair Apple or Samsung products. I was turned away 4 times, before I found the Geek Shop and was told to bring my phone in. They gave me a 30-45 minute window of time that theyd spend trying to fix my phone, and was ecstatic to return and find a fully functioning phone! They did a great job with making sure they returned it to its original state, even though the repair could have been a little bit messy. The Geek Shop has great service and rates for repair. I will definitely be returning if I have issues with any of my electronics.
These guys are wizards! Fixed my phone within 8 minutes. You can tell they love what they do and they do it well. I will use them for all my future tech issues and highly recommend them to anyone who wants a quick fix and fair dealings. Support small business, these guys are a treasure!
After another local repair place refused to even attempt diagnosis of my Samsung tablets refusal to turn on--insisting they might break the screen--Geek Shop took responsibility and revived it for the price of an estimate. Its farther from my home but Im never going anywhere else.
I’m so happy to have Geek Shop in the Slope! The new space is bright and impeccable with a fantastic selection of cases. Stan is always super friendly and helpful...and fast! Although aggravated that one of my son’s smashed yet another screen, coming to Geek Shop almost makes me not mind! :-)
Called these guys to see if they could help me with an error message that was preventing me from using Chrome, expecting them to say bring it on in or Sorry, no can do. Instead, they spent 10 minutes with me on the phone, researched the error message and walked me through installing a temporary fix until Google comes out with a patch. Im not hoping for a larger computer problem that will necessitate my having to go to their shop, but in the event of that occurrence I will 100% give them my business.
Accidentally cracked my galaxy s6 screen and the LCD went along with it. But I called Geek Shop up and low and behold that they had the screen and the color in stock. Swung by and got my phone fixed in an hour. I searched everywhere for the least expensive price for the best quality and this was my find. The screen was $229, and considering the screen alone costs $189 on amazon, the quick turn around was worth it. The phone is good as new and works great. It was great, awesome staff, great service, short wait, nothing better.
Couldn’t recommend any more highly! Stanley helped me recover 2+ TB of data from a corrupted external hard drive. He was professional, prompt, and helpful with all my questions and concerns. Extremely communicative every step of the way so I understood the process, cost, and timeframe. I will continue to support this local business for any future tech issues.
I was desperately looking for someone to help me with my computer which was freezing and full....and which I needed to work the next day. I spoke to many mac stores which all said there was a problem that would take days to figure out, estimate and then fix...when I spoke to Stanley he talked me through a few simple things, explained the problem to me, I brought it in and he had it fixed and back to me in 2 hours. He is amazing...knowledgeable, helpful and thorough.In addition , now during shelter at home I was having more trouble..he very patiently worked with me over zoom to get it figured out and resolved.I cant recommend him highly enough. You will do yourself a favor if you go to him.
I went the the Geek Shop last weekend and found them (I worked with Stanley) to be highly knowledgeable, able to communicate well with me, a non geek, thorough in trying every possible resource, friendly and interested in helping me, and dedicated to his job. His diagnosis also checked out with an independent IT expert I know. I recommend him/them with the greatest enthusiasm!
Its crazy to wait on that long line at the Apple store on Flatbush when just a few blocks away theres an amazing guy, Stanley, at the Geek Shop. In my experience on 2 ocassions he quickly assessed the issues with my ole Macbook pro, fixed em and was on my way. And he eagerly shares his encyclopedic knowledge all the while. Professional, pleasant ... cant say enough. My go to tech guy from now on!
Stanley fixed numerous problems with my pc laptop that had come about due to poorly made parts, battery issues, and having been dropped. He is extremely knowledgable down to the smallest component. Hes also great to discuss overall computer specifications with. I highly recommend Geek Shop.
Extremely knowledgable, professional and very friendly! I was so upset when my PC wouldnt even turn on but the Geek Shop took a look at it, figured out the problem, solved it, did a deep cleaning for me and tidied up the wires quickly, accurately and for an extremely fair price. I wouldnt go anywhere else!
Geek shop charged me $110 for new Apple screen and $155 total for repairs. Less than 2 weeks later the new screen that they placed stopped functioning. I took it to another shop (since out of town could not go back to the Geeks). When I saw the insides of my phone, it became obvious to me that they had not installed the screen properly. Also, the screen was not Apple original they made me pay extra for. I suspect that they replaced some parts on my old screen and told me it was a new sceeen... When I met the geeks in person, they seemed like good people. So Im shocked at this breach of trust.
My Macbook Pro was returned with body parts falling apart, screen unhinged, 14 screws missing, some parts dented, or twisted inside like the metal part around my screen. The body, the screen and the internal aluminum memory cover were all loose. Just a few screws were used to keep it all somehow together.I was told the laptop was unfixable. I was also told their team had been aware of the issue and that whoever had fixed it lost all the parts. Someone messed up big time, but hey... giving a laptop back... all broken apart... with parts missing and being aware of it? Smelled amateur, impudent and insulting to me.I returned to the shop immediately to get this ridiculous problem fixed promptly. I made my demand politely and clear: I want my laptop back to its pre-drop-off condition or get it reimbursed. I already waited 60 days and didnt feel like being played around anymore. I had called the shop 4 days ago letting them know I was not able to wait to get it fixed any longer and I would prefer to pick up. I was assured any day within business hours was fine.Their technician (dont want to share the name to spare his privacy) wasnt willing to help. Instead he aggravated the problem by throwing curses at me. I admit, some substantially gruesome, injudicious language spurred into the air. I called out this ignorance pointing to other customers with children who were visiting the store at the time the accident happened. Cursing in front of kids? Thats beyond acceptable.He finally gathered all random macbooks to collect some screws and perform some poor screwdriver job. Some screws fit, some didnt, some had heads too big or too small.I returned home disappointed and angry. My both screen hinges have still screws missing on both sides, the screen body and the main body are still not properly aligned and clutter like a bag of cans. The screen does not lock. Some screws dont fit, or were forced in. The body is bulged overall. Cant boot, cant hear it work the way it used at the time I dropped it off. Overall... I received less than what I left at the shop. A major breach of trust.Stay away. Management hires very young, rude and inexperienced personnel which reflects the quality of service. Counter table converted to a repair station... opened devices are in easy reach of customers. Conditions pretty much explain why my stuff got lost. They still owe me, but after all that rage Im allowing to let this go. Dont feel like feeding their ignorance anymore. Hope they go out of business soon.
Words are not enough on how grateful I am that I connected with the Geek Shop Inc. when my memory card failed on me. I had just returned from a three week Southeast Asia vacation and there was an error on my memory card when I tried to load the pictures onto my computer. I am a very sentimental person and all my pictures (1000+) were on the 16gb card. I was referred to contact Geek Shop Inc.The Geek Shop staff exceeded my expectations. They answered all my questions and kept me calm while I was in a state of panic. I was afraid I lost all my pictures but the Geek Shop was able to recover not some but ALL my pictures. Specifically, Peter, saw how valuable, important and sentimental the pictures are to me and immediately helped me recover my pictures back within half an hour.If you are looking for professional and fast quality service and reasonable prices... Had the best experience with the Mac Geeks, they were very knowledgeable and quick on the turnaround time to get my MacBook pro screen repaired. I had looked everywhere and shopped around for prices and the Geeks provided the best price. The technicians were very nice and knew what they were talking about when I had called in, I highly recommend this shop for anyone that has a damaged MacBook.
I was being charged 60$ just to replace the screen of a iphone 6 plusA screen that i bought online but the Labor 5 min work was $60,I also asked them to change the scree of my Samsung Tab E and they could not do it because they did not have the right tools to do that.Waste of my time
100% satisfied! I took in an HP Touchpad one time and they essentially turned away money by being very honest with me and telling me about a cheaper alternative. Later, I took in a MacBook and have been so pleased with their work. These guys are knowledgable, courteous and most importantly HONEST.

I severely cracked the screen of my iPhone 8 and Geek Shop fixed it in 15 minutes! I had a choice of either original ($115) or after-market ($90) for the screen replacement. I opted for the original and the phone looks brand new. I certainly hope I dont drop my phone again but in the event I do, Ill be back!
I brought my iPhone with a cracked screen to get replaced. The fella that replaced it seemed pretty adept - he was juggling what seemed like multiple technical tasks at a time: fix a screen, help a customer, pick up the phone, diddle with a desktop.After a 1/2 hour I came back to pick up my phone and it seemed to work. Except when I went back outside to call my wife. She couldnt hear me. I took the phone back in and explained the situation to the same fella. He took my phone and SAID NOTHING to me while he fixed it. I would have appreciated it, hey, Im sorry - I messed this up.Well, I know why. BECAUSE HE MICRORIPPED MY HOMEBUTTON!Heres the backstory: the home button became extremely wonkey and I took it in for a second look. A new fella did a superb job listening to what I said and running the requisite tests to figure out was wrong. He figured out that that there was a MICROTEAR in the ribbon that connects my homebutton to my phone. He graciously replaces it and states, we are about customer service.There was NO explanation as to how the ribbon tore - certainly not through a fall. It was clear to me as soon as I examined the tools used that the first guy nicked it while lifting it up because he was distracted. But excellent customer service.So now I have an iPhone 6s with a functional screen but no TouchID because the homekey is broken.Is it really customer service when the GeekShop techs tears a critical component, replaces it, but that one critical function (TOUCHID) does not work? I dont think so.Save your time and money. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.
Hi,After an extensive search for a place that fixes Ipads with a quick turn around, and competitive price I ended up here. The service was top notch- they not only replaced my Ipad screen but also smoothed out the corners where the gadget had been dropped. The Ipad is used for gaming by a 10 year old. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to go here with their laptop, I spent over & $200 to get mine fixed aside from them taking over a month to get it fixed cause of a misunderstanding within their staff, it’s only been 3 months I’ve barely used my laptop since then and it doesn’t work again. Waste of my time and money.

2022-05-06I brought my cellphone in which had a cracked screen to be fixed and Stanley repaired it within 30 minutes. The phone looked brand new and the service was great. I would highly recommend geek shop and yes I would definitely use their services again.

2022-05-25They are life savers and very honest repair people to. I have been going to them for a few years and have always solved my phone and lap top problems. They were also able to get replacement parts for my old Dell laptop and phone pretty fast.

2022-07-08Brought in a 6-yr old phone thinking the battery had to be replaced because the phone would boot up but wont go past the boot screen.Before I left the phone behind for Stanley to order a replacement battery, he opened it up for a look—turned out my battery got loose from too many drops and he fixed it on the spot. And he talked med through the process of opening up the phone, describing the risks involved because of how the screen is attached to the body, and tried to make another minor repair.Obvs saved me the money for a replacement battery and I was very happy to pay him for the work he did.Stanley was super honest and helpful. Hes the real deal, knows his stuff.I intend to spread the good word to Yelp too.

2022-05-04Great guys, very professional, honest, humble, intelligent, and not greedy. Stanley asked a minimum pay for changing a monitor. It was my birthday and i decided to pay more, as they deserve it with their diligent efforts, having a strong intention to help me get my PC fixed. Uber drivers charge $40-50 for doing nothing. He tried to restore my speaker as well, but advised to use Bluetooth speaker when found it fully destroyed. He also gave me other useful advises not to buy PC details in repair shops , and order online. Go only to this Geek Shop one block of Union St. subway, not to other Geek shops if you want to get a honest job resultsThank you Stanley

2022-05-16My cat pushed my phone off my table and shattered the screen. It was black and I wasn’t able to use the touch screen. Thought I’d have to get a new phone but the shop fixed my screen like new within 25 mins!!! Amazing work!

2022-06-046 stars if i could! The technician was patient and explained in detail to me what the problem was. Strong recommend! He diagnosed the problem without having to wipe out my hard drive. (the Downtown Brooklyn Apple store advised that my hard drive would need to be wiped out if I proceeded to have them fix my hot battery).Avoid NonGenius Bar, come here instead!

2022-05-15Geek Shop saved the day when my computer conked out on a Sunday. They were able to help me right away and explained the issue clearly. The problem turned out to be minor and they didnt even charge me. I feel better knowing theyre in the neighborhood.

2020-02-21The Geek Shop is a really good place to get your computer fixed. The owner/tech is extremely knowledgeable with lots of experience. I came in with a very complex problem with a Lenovo 900. We changed the battery believing that was the problem only to find out there was more going on. He without question asked me to bring the computer back for further diagnoses. I have been working with computers for more than 30 years and know he has the experience to fix just about anything. I also feel he is really honorable. It was easy to work with him. Whether we ever get the problem resolved it wont be because of a lack of knowledge or professionalism. Sometimes it is more cost effective to junk the computer. I will use him as my go to person when my clients have hardware issues. He also repairs phones. Easy Parking right in front.

2022-06-24After dropping my 4yr old iPhone, it worked very erratically, shutting down repeatedly... the principal of the Geek Shop in Park Slope, listened, opened the phone, diagnosed the issue (battery related), fixed it and did not charge me for his services. I will always go there for my phone needs. This is a true experience. Thank you
