Gems is one those neighborhood discount stores you can find any little nick nack for the house, or household cleaning supplies everything under one roof if you will. Its very convenient I go there all the time.
Poor quality goods and the staff makes you feel ignored, this was a bad shopping experience for me and my family.
It looked like a regular little side store but when I finally inside I was so surprised! Their stock is something Ive never seen. The only thing they dont have is furniture sets...Oh wait I dont think the Macys in Parkchester has any either!!

Place is good but the employees are short tempered and their behavior was horrible!! I was surprised ! Nobody should be disrespectful! Today approximately at 2pm, Me n my wife was at the store , asking for information about furniture delivery fee. The guy in charge for delivery was totally lunatic and very disrespectful. Nobody should hire that type of employee.
Youll usually find what you need here form kitchen items and home decor to hardware and furniture. Decent prices. Helpful staff.
Nice neighborhood discount store. Theyve been there for decades. Nice friendly staff. You can find budget furniture, household cleaners, curtains, etc. My go to spot when I need cheap blinds or household items

I always shop at this store for YEARS they used to donate toys to my youth organization to give out to hospitalized children. They have a huge variety of ALL kinds of items. I wouldve given a higher star rating if it wasnt for the POOR choice of hiring the door baggage check person a real insensitive person with a VERY bad attitude. I shouldve gotten a little more info on him..not to be confused with a real nice helpful gentleman that helps you out AND helps you to your car if need be. Then theres the SOUR who doesnt even answer if you greet him..he usually looks like the world is ending...he yells and embarasses customers...just HORRIBLE communication and customer service.....maybe hes going thru something or having a bad day (most of the time?)
The employees are mainly spanish but even if you dont know spanish they are still very helpful.I came here to go christmas shopping and I literally found everything I was looking for,I believe the decorations to put in the tree like garland, and like flowers and such other things besides ornaments are a bit expensive for a small amount, for example a decorative garland was 10$ for a roll that only covers maybe u 2-4 foot tree.but everything else is very cheap and very easy to find.Although it was very busy I still was able to purchase things in a fast manner its like a 99cents store you are able to find many things here and for Christmas, they have it all, well mostly.
I bought Silicon Mix Moroccan Argan Oil conditioner from here and it was a fake. I use this all of the time from an actual beauty supply store and the one at gems had a different texture, smell, and made my scalp burn. The container did not have a protective seal like it usually does in other stores. I immediately noticed that the conditioner was a mixture of BODY LOTION and something else, not the actual product that was advertised.
I went there because my friend saw that they had blue Christmas trees. I so wanted one this year. When I went they didn’t have it. The store was over crowded with products all over the floor.There was a long line for something else I wanted with only two cashiers in a Saturday afternoonI left not going back

No no no,i bought a big bottle of febreeze today and went home and sprayed it,no smell whatsoever ,these people add water to dilute the product...take it from me dont buy anything here its a rip off..your better off going to dollar tree two blocks away...BEWARE DONT SPEND YOUR MONEY IN GEM...

I love all the things they sell. But some of the staff have attitudes. If you dont like working around people get another job.
Prize is fair quality is not great but good for the prize after all it is a discount store items you buy last pretty long time.

2022-03-20A good place to buy small household items. Some things can be overpriced. I almost purchased a shopping cart there for $89 dollars. Im glad I shopped around. I found the same cart at Key Food on Unionport for $75 dollars.

2022-04-07My mom shops at this store often but when she mentioned to me what happened to her today was upsetting. The lady at the cash register allowed my mom (a senior citizen) to be skipped in line and talk about her in Spanish. This is unacceptable and I will take this issue further.

2021-02-27Quality stuff. Stores you can find anything you need for house job wise etc. Prices are really affordable for anyone. Location perfect train station busses or walk there. I bought something there 13 years ago is still there no defects I have even friends asking me where I bought them sadly they are not longer for sale ( sold out).

2021-12-20Adams jewelry was very disrespectful to people in that will not give you your money back they tell you that if you buy something and you dont go back to get his and stuff like that they wont give you your money back which is a bad thing to do so I really do not like Adams jewelry that rude disrespectful and everything I advise everybody not to go to Adams jewelry in the Bronx on Castle Hill Avenue do not go to Adams jewelry is very rude and disrespectful

2021-04-24Friendly neighborhood store thats been in business since I was going into my teenage years. The area has gone through many ups and downs over the last 30+ years. Always has been working class Bronx neighborhood with hints of homeless people. GEMS adds nicely to the mix of commercial and residential properties around here. Outsiders and commuters tend to look down on The Bronx. Yet this store reminds locals and tourists alike, anyone can afford to shop if you know where to look.
