I went into the showroom to look at the Hyundai Sonata. I was directed to a salesman, Matt Iaboni, which greeted me with a welcoming smile. Having never owned a Hyundai or even had much interest in the brand, Matt changed my mind real quick. One thing that resonated with me was his passion and knowledge of the cars he was selling. I learned so much that day, never feeling rushed and more and more interested in the Hyundai company. I went from looking for the Sonata to buying the 2019 Genesis G80 Sport. For the first time in a long time I was excited about buying a new car, the last time being 1985, when I drove home in a new Nissan 300ZX !! Great job Matt, I hope you are commended for your professionalism, knowledge, and kind demeanor !!
I wish I could give 0 stars. Go to Genesis of Bayside if you value service, a place of honor and closing a fair deal. It’s 2021 and Fawad and Hilton put the Harry Wormwood, Joey O’Brien to shame. They’re contributing to the struggle Genesis faces when it comes to brand cachet. 👎👎👎
HILTONG ANDRADE,SALE GUY IS SMILE AND not straight up.I bought 2021 g80 whole process when I had question he never gave real answers but thing is I did my research on car I just needed dealer to find.I made job easy but I didnt get no respect ,prior to taking possession of car I could get in touch with him after NO.As of today I never heard from him and my insurance company try to get in contact with him.All we needed was for him to fax over bill of sale and window sticker and which insurance company needed so my coverage doesnt get erupted .I had to do it myself after he said he was going to do its stressful if you get email from insurance asking for these things and if not received your coverage could be drop.Just be aware there other things I can say but I think you get point and I never did anything like this but its car I waited 3 years for and he took all joy out of it!
I recently began my hunt for a genesis gv70 2.5t with sport prestige package. I just want to say this car has been a little annoying to obtain in certain colors.Anyways, upon arrival I was greeted and made as comfortable as possible. The sales rep Hilton was very upbeat yet professional and was ready for any questions I had. I was able to come in near closing time and still be out the door with my new car inside an hours time. Everyone in south shore seemed very friendly and personable overall. Let’s be serious, the cars are selling themselves right now so all we need as customers is a good experience and they definitely delivered on that. The finance guy Fawad didn’t make me feel uncomfortable about saying no to any add ons I didn’t want and was also very pleasant, helpful and straightforward. All in all, I would definitely recommend this group if you’re looking for a new genesis. Cars are a tad annoying to get a hold of right now but these guys do their best to deliver. Thanks!Edit:Yes the buying experience is great, fun and worked out. Unfortunately, service blows bad. You constantly have to follow up about your own car yourself. They failed to fully repair a part and I had to look at the vehicle myself and come in for them to tell me “oh we missed that”. I then had to call today nearly one month and a half later to follow up again just for them to tell me the part has been there already delivered. Now I have to wait almost another three weeks to fulfill an appointment to bring it in for a loaner. I’m just annoyed about the lackluster ability to communicate with customers about their vehicles in a more timely and professional manner. But I also understand the staff they have available can’t make up for the Hyundai/Genesis inability to provide the right resources to correct these problems by increasing time and staff to keep up with the high demand.5 star is now 3 star.

2022-01-20What a great experience! I worked with Hilton and Matt and they were both wonderful. Very patient with trying to obtain the best car and prices available. They took the stress out of getting a nrw car and were not pushy or pressuring. The finance person and general manager were also nice and easy to work with. I highly recommend this dealership!

2022-04-05Worst Experience. Beware DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME & MONEY. These guys at Genesis of South Shore has NO Respect, NO Professionalism. Overpriced Cars and will make you buy Extras - Extras are already put in the Cars beforehand, Even before you buy the Car. So you are left with no Choice to buy the car with Extra items even if you dont need them. Very Tricky to deal with. Till end I kept getting surprises over surprises and eventually walked out. And I am so glad, I did. I got my car from a different dealership at the right price and no Non Sense.

2022-04-09I purchased a 2022 Genesis G70 at this dealership on 11/13/2021. The overall experience was good with Hilton (salesperson) but buyer beware with the additional $4,000 upcharge that Fawad (finance manager) presents at the last minute as a benefit to the purchaser. I really wanted the car, but I would not buy another vehicle from here or recommend anyone else do so!

2022-05-11I went to Genesis of South Shore because they seemed to have the largest inventory of new cars that I was interested in, a 2022 Genesis G70 3.3T. I got a price they would honor through AMEX/Truecar.The salesman, Mike was very knowledgeable about the car, he drives the same model. There was no negotiating as this is how it is now these days, the car was being marketed at over $63,000, and I got a good guaranteed price, $802 over sticker price of $54,320. We agreed to $55,122 +tax, DMV fees and a wheel & tire package $2,208. Grand Tot: $62,643.58 minus $5,000 down payment.I originally wanted to pay for the car in full but they said that if I were to finance it, they could honor the price and they get something from the bank. I agreed to do the financing and they had me do an application. Im handed off to Robert, who handles the financing part. Robert hands me a tablet for my signature. He then taps, taps, taps away. He tells me that all the paperwork will be ready for me when I pick up the car the next day.I arrive the next day and Mike gives me a quick lesson of the car and hands me an envelope containing my paperwork already filled out and signed. Remember tap, tap, tap? My signature was entered by Robert at multiple points, I was under the impression that my tablet signature was for the finance application, not the actual agreement. The agreement now has additional charges that were not agreed upon. Key replacement $1,205, Maintenance $1,525 and Theft Protection $1,699 for a total $4,429. (You get 2 keys - whats to replace? 3 years maintenance is included with the purchase. What is theft protection?) I went into his office but he was on his way somewhere and couldnt give me a minute. Ive tried calling him to no avail. Im ending up financing $62,262.16, total price $68,262.16, where I should have been financing $56,643.58, total price $62,643.58.So, for anyone reading this - do not sign anything on an electronic device without either going over everything on the device or getting a paper copy to review before signing.

2022-07-07About Mid-May I went to Genesis of South Shore in an effort to lease my first luxury car. I am a recently graduated PA and was excited to look for my new car. I met with sales-person Brandon Maione who was “helping me” secure a GV70. He stated that he had a car that was “in Rhode Island at their processing center,” that would be available in a few weeks. If I wanted it, I needed to secure it ASAP with a deposit and fill out a credit application. So I did. The hard inquiry hit my account and I assumed everything was in progress. A few days went by, I hadn’t heard anything and I reached out. He said “it would be there by the middle of June.” By Mid-June, I still heard nothing. Again, I reached out, 4 weeks later… Brandon proceeded to tell me “my car disappeared.” Disappeared? Cars don’t disappear. I asked when this happened and he couldn’t give me a straight answer, he just said he had been looking for a new one and was surely going to tell me at some point; he also tried to sell me a more expensive car at that point. I was furious, my credit had been run for no reason, there was no communication about how my car mysteriously disappeared, and no courtesy to inform me. My lease was up July and I needed something to get me to work.I ended up going to the dealership to try to get my money back and to dispute the inquiry on my credit. Lucky for me, Brandon was there to “help.” A supervisor, came and tried to assist, but he wasn’t incredibly helpful either. I called on Monday, as per their recommendations, so I could have the inquiry removed from my account and nobody answered me or would help me after that.My advice is to not go to this dealership. I’m sure my mystery car was probably sold to someone else, for a higher price and he just didn’t want to say that. Cars do not disappear. The communication, professionalism and reputation of Genesis is embarrasing at this point. I would not recommend this dealership to anyone.

2022-06-24Bait and switch. I went through Genesis of Southshore website and went though the shop from home link. I got an offer for 70,800 on a GV 80 advanced and 16,500 for my trade in. I called the dealership to confirm the numbers letting them know I have a 2 hour drive to get to their dealership. They confirmed the numbers stating the trade in may need to be adjusted based on condition, but should be around ball park. I drove the 2 hours and worked with HILTON for them to offer 9000 for the trade in. I asked what on the inspection lowered the price more than 7000 and they said nothing; but that was they highest they would go. They then said, “let me see what I can do for you”. They came back and said good news I can get you 13K for your trade in and when they came in with the term sheet, they increased the agreed upon sticker price by 5K making the whole car purchase even more expensive. The manager then said he cannot do any better on the purchase, but offered me a loaner 2022 with 2K miles for the sticker price. For those who are purchasing. Genesis of Stamford, Danbury and Cherry Hill do not charge over sticker.

2022-04-23There’s not enough I can say about Mike Z. and the team at Genesis of South Shore. This was my first experience buying a new car so needless to say I was a little nervous, and not totally sure how difficult the whole process would be- enter Mike at GOTSS. When we sat down to discuss the car, it was very relaxed and he was able to address every question I asked without hesitation. By the time we took the test drive, I was sold even though I didn’t make the call until days later. Since I didn’t live nearby, I had to handle the purchase mostly over the phone, which again I thought would over complicate things, and again, Mike made it incredibly easy and was available for any questions or information I needed. When the day came to finalize everything and pick up the car, everything was as we discussed- there were no hidden costs or extras thrown at me and everything was totally above board which made me even more comfortable with my decision. To top it all off, Mike (on a Saturday) spent a lot of time going over all the capabilities and inner workings of the car, which made me even more excited about my new GV70. As I said at the offset, I can’t say enough about Mike and the service at GOTSS, but I can say that I would recommend Mike and his team to anyone in search of a new car. I’d also suggest the GV70, it’s an amazing vehicle!

2021-02-21I visited this dealership to test drive a G70, and after loving how the car drove I sat down with Andrew to see if we could make a deal. After some back and forth, we came to some numbers that we were both happy with, and I was able to take the car home within 2 hours. I’ll definitely be coming back to this dealership for my next car. Very straight forward, low pressure negotiation and no surprise charges or fees at the end of the day. I would recommend this dealer to anyone in the market for a Genesis or Hyundai.

2021-05-19Bought a Genesis G70 in October 2020. After receiving little to no help and having issues with a finance manager constantly going back on his word, leaving out details and not giving me options. Aliea, the best employee at this establishment took on the role to help get me the car I wanted. She deserves a promotion in all honestly. Aliea is the best sale person I ever dealt with. Super understanding, kind and values her clients. After looking in the market at Mercedes and Audi, if it wasnt for Aliea I wouldnt have bought the car. Please go to Aleia, she will definitely help you out!

2020-09-30I shopped around few dealers and had my heart set on the G70. I called the dealer and Franswa picked up and asked me all the questions and told me he would call me back in 10 min. He called back in time and was able to beat the quote I gotten. I left a $500 deposit over the phone and told me the car will prepped and ready for delivery. I arrived and saw the car at the front of the dealer, it was nice and clean. I looked at the car, signed and transferred all items within 30 min. This was the smoothest transaction ever. Franswa was very professional and a straight shooter, he catered to all my needs and answered all my questions. Ive met many salesperson in my life and I definitely recommend Franswa.
