This is our favorite sit-down indoor restaurant in warrensburg. On our first visit, the dining area was deserted, and I thought this does not bode well.. But by the time we left, it was packed. So get there as close to 5pm as possible if you wan dinner. We typically stop after visiting the Hudson Headwaters health facility nearby. On that first visit, I noticed several burgers for about $10-11 and ordered one medium rare. My wife ordered as well, and our server disappeared into the kitchen. No more than 3 minutes later she was back with our food. I thought (again). This cant be good.Once again, I was wrong. The burger was a perfectly pink medium rare. My wife was also pleased with her special.Their menu apologizes for the time it may make for your food to appear, and even recommends you visit the Mr. Donalds you pass leaving town if time is a premium. Our experience was no apology was needed. It was as fast as a drive through, and our food was perfectly prepared. We may have been lucky that first time arriving on the leading wave of the dinner crowd, but subsequent visits at all dinner hours have all resulted in:1. Speedy Service. And2. Good Grub.
One of the best reuben sandwiches Ive ever had, and it had bacon on it! I should have taken a picture. Got the sweet potato fries. A berry sauce came with them--it was an unexpected sweet surprise, with an explosion of flavor in my mouth. Service was good, and they kept tables a nice distance from each other. I felt safe going there, and I definitely want to go back again. BTW, their prime rib sandwich is another amazingly delicious meal to try.
Did a large job in the area. Took us a week to go here. Drove all over looking for good food/beer/service. This place was 5 mins from our hotel. Duh.... Can definitely tell its not part of a chain. Food was amazing every night. (And we ate here mon-thurs for over a month) great local and craft beers. Live music. What more could you ask for? Cant wait to eat here again. Very very highly recommend
Went here for dinner with family and friends. We arent from this area but you would have never thought that by how the entire staff treated us like we were family. Hands down some of the best service weve experienced. Our waitress was the best! Very friendly and accommodating to our every need. The food is is by the best weve had in and around the Lake George area!! There were 5 of us total and everything that was placed on our table was amazing! A sign on the wall says they support local farmers, breweries, and such. You can tell by how fresh everything tasted. From salads to soups, burgers to steaks, and deserts, all so good!! We will definitely be coming back to George Henrys the next time we are in the area!!!
This joint was a little dark and chilly but like upstate NY...winter showed up too early! The food here is off the chain! It warmed me up real quick. Short Rib grilled cheese sandwich??!! AMAZING!! Fresh cut fries were tasty and the service was fast and real friendly. Thanks for a great lunch guys!
May have been an off day because prior visit was much better. Service was slow considering the dining room was almost empty. Burgers were overcooked, ordered medium came out medium well. Nachos were a good portion but wet due to the high liquid content of the white cheese that ended up at the bottom of the bowl. The home made potato chips were the best.
How much did we like it? Enough to stop there on our way to vacation and on our way home. Thats how much. Its a small place about a mile from exit 23 on I87. A good list of local, craft and mainstream beers. A short and efficient menu with just enough variety to give you a few tough choices. The kids menu has the basic choices youve come to expect. The bar was quiet when we went in the middle of the day. Staff is friendly and helpful.Try the macaroni and cheese bites! Give the steak sandwich or ahi and greens plate. We had a variety appetizer platter and were very satisfied.Worth stopping here if youre looking for good food.
This place looks very much like your standard issue local bar with sub-par food.....dont let that fool you.The food here was outstanding, and the price incredibly reasonable, especially given the portions and quality of the food. I dont get up this way very often, but we will absolutely be back here.
Great little restaurant! Staff was very friendly and food was really good. My favorite was the pulled brisket sandwich with Boursin cheese. My husband got the Vermonster that has turkey, apples, and cranberry which might sound like an odd combo, but it was perfect. The wings are great too. Service was a little slow, but that is if you are used to, and compare it to chain restaurants with large staff. Our wait was very reasonable for a small family type restaurant that has delicious food. We will definitely stop here again!
We popped in for dinner on the off chance they had some space for us. The restaurant was full so we were offered seats in at the bar instead. The barman was very friendly and we had some exceptional burgers. My wife and I are from England, and I think visitors from so far abroad are a bit of a novelty here, but Ill tell you what.. this place was almost worth the air fare alone! Great food, great staff. Go.
Been coming here for 10 years whenever i ride at Gore but honestly never greatly impressed with the service. Today is the last straw:Me: burger, medium, with french friesGH: sorry we are out of the regular fries but we can do curly fries for no up charge.Me: will you do the onion rings no upcharge?GH: no.Me: i’ll just go somewhere elseGH: here’s your check.Ive spent a lot of money here in the past but you dont want to give me some onion rings to make me happy??? Why are they more expensive anyway? Bye forever. Never coming here ever again.Edit: thanks for your response. I left that night hungry and disappointed. I would have stayed for another beer or two but i really wanted steak fries and the next best thing was onion rings. Even significantly more expensive you make money on the first beer. I really do like your spot I just thought it was silly that you would waive the up charge on curly fries but not onion rings.
This was the best burger Ive EVER had! I was in Warrensburg for work and forgot my lunch. I stopped here to get a quick bite and had no expectations. I had a cheeseburger with bacon and HOLY COW! The burger was cooked to perfection and perfectly seasoned, the fries were great and the atmosphere was clean and family friendly. Even though this is an hour away from me I will definitely be back with friends and make it a day trip with George Henrys as the destination.
Revising my inital review because the owner empathized with our perspective and the had the integrity to look into, explain and apologize for a prior miscommunication personally. Thats reflection of personalized, good customer service. The wing sauce and the breading on the chicken tenders are out of this world. We look forward to trying the burgers during our next visit.
As a return customer Im sorry to say that we went back to George Henrys late this afternoon and our server seemed less concerned about us than the bar. We werent offered refills on our drinks, food orders on 3 of the 4 of our orders were wrong , portions of the same foods we ordered last time we visited were definitely smaller . And the servers attention to details were nill. One of us ordered a burger with no tomato or lettace and thats all it had another order her drink with lemon and it came with no lemon Just off there game. Also noted the temps in the building were quite chilly requiring some of our guest to leave there costs on.
Went here when on vacation in Lake George. It was around a 15-20 minute drive from where we were staying but it was well worth it! The atmosphere was inviting and there was a live musician that was playing old cover songs. He was really good! Waitress was very nice and the all you can eat wings were an amazing deal! All around, food was amazing! Have already suggested this place to friends and when we come back to Lake George next time, well definitely come here!
The girl working at the bar was rude! She might try to be a little polite. I will never come here again. Slow and bad service.I will not here again. Very expensive food and drinks and very very bad serviceEmployees rude! Stay away.dont go to this restaurant!Stay away!!!!tell your employees to be polite.
They literally gave our tables food to another table and then after the other table picked through it took it back from them, brought them their food, and then brought our previously delivered and picked through food out to us. To add insult to injury they have bar signs all over the walls and no liquor license.HARD PASS.
Good atmosphere, can be a bit loud if there is a band at the bar. We had the nachos, which had nacho cheese (if that matters to you). For dinner we had the steak chile and the mac and cheese with bacon. Both were great, even better when we mixed them together. Great local beer selection, limited wines.
Made a random stop off of Route 87 to grab a bite to eat and found George Henry’s. We hit the bullseye on a dart board finding this place!! Spinach dip to die for, scallops like no other and their Irish cheddar burger! YUM!! Bartenders were awesome too!! Highly recommend!!
Enjoyed a nice Sunday dinner with a close family friend. He ordered the Vermontster Panini and was very pleased. As for myself I had indulged in the Smoked Briskit sandwich which was incredible with a very tasty sweet onion jam. The menu is mostly sandwich oriented with a very limited selection of entree type dinners. However the two sandwiches ordered this visit were incredible!
The Bison chilli had great flavor and just the right amount of heat. We both had the baked Mac and Cheese, mine was with bacon and chicken and it was to die for. His was with the shrimp and scallops, omg hint of wine flavor that the seafood was cooked in added to the uniqueness of the dish. Both were incredible but Im sure without the added meats or seafood the dish would be just as wonderful. Will definitely go back. The waitress was very friendly and the prices were very affordable.
George Henrys has spectacular food for fair prices. Its not cheap but not overly expensive. You get what you pay for. It has a simple menue with mostly burgers, sandwiches and salads on it. The burgers and sandwiches provide huge and hearty portion sizes. You wont go away hungry!
Food was good, our waitress was excellent, but when my mother and sister went to use the bathroom, they were told that the bathroom was only for employees and that they had to use the porta potty in the parking lot.... I could not believe it. If I would have known that before we walked into that restaurant, we would have walked right back out.
The service was very pleasant, as was the choice of local hand crafted beers. We started with the Ubu Ale Chili, which was very good. It was Tuesday All-you-can-eat Wing night, so I then had that and my wife had a steak with peppercorns and a cream sauce, which was one of the specials. We also both enjoyed the Keegan Ales Mother’s Milk stout. The restaurant is separated from the tavern bar by a wall, and noise did not filter through, so the atmosphere in the dining area was quiet and comfortable. It was an enjoyable early evening dinner.
Omg there is just no words it was just so good had a fat Angus burger cooked medium rare and OH. MY. GOSH. it was freaking delicious omg I will be back. Altho it was priced little high it was worth it. It was everything I was asking for and the fries where amazing seasoned just enough. Not to salty but just salty enough. Everything was good. I will definitely be back next time I go camping. And will love every bit of it. Thanks guys stay open and keep up the good workk😊😊😊 (mouth is watering just thinking of it sitting in the parking lot of Dragon Lee right across the street wanting a burger not chinese) 😜
Stay away!!! the girl working at the bar was very rude. not pleased with the service, slow and was given the wrong order! And rude employees and poblen restaurant and bad drinkssRude rude rude!!!Stay away pleasethey dont really know what they are doing.Bad service, bad food and Expensivepeople going there just to watch the match.small portions and very very slow servicejust be kind! why are you so rude!I will not go here againthe workers are very disrespectful and cynical!!Stay away pleaseThe owner of this restaurant is rude people.(i understand why the employees are rude)Are you looking for a specific problem? employees are rude and service is poor!If you dont like bad comments, dont do this job!
We were staying at Camp Dippikill and came into Warrensburg for dinner - maybe we were extra hungry from our hike, but we were very impressed with the quality of the food (we both had burgers), the local ingredients, and the good service (not shy on the refills). Will consider stopping here on the way back from High Peaks hikes in the future - it is closer off the highway than busier restaurants in Lake George and Glens Falls.
Very expensive and very bad service!!!employees at the bar very rude. the food is bad and the drinks are bad.why are your employees so rude!being respectful and acting friendly always wins.Very very bad service, stay awayThis is restaurant big problem, be careful and again stat away!!!

2022-06-15By far my favorite spot in Warrensburg!Stopped in the other day for dinner and drinks.Started with the tot stingers. These things are exploding with flavor. Between the crispy potato and pork belly, the fresh jalapeños, the cheese and sauce its hard to tell which flavor stands out the most. The combo truly is perfectly blended. For the main I got the sweet heat chicken sandwhich. The chicken must have been the godzilla of chickens because this chicken breast was huge. Fresh and crispy also bursting with flavor. On the side was a small thing of raspberry jam spread. Im not sure if it was for the sandwhich or the sweet potato frys but it was amazing on both. The beer selection was very good as well. Tons of craft stuff, domestics, and even an alcoholic ginger beer. Cant wait to return.

2022-03-30Food was great. Lots of flavor. Little disappointed that waitress left empty bottles, glasses and soup bowl on the table the whole time.

2021-12-28Delicious food. Best server ever. She was alone serving a crowd but she never missed a beat. She maintained a friendly demeanor, was polite, pleasant, and most helpful. I have to thank her and the chef for being so patient, helpful, and willing to work with me to meet my dietary requirements. This restaurant was recommended by the proprietor of Junk and Java. Another very fine establishment that I encourage everyone to support.

2021-10-17It was a bit pricey however, the place was clean with open space, not crowded tables. My hubby had the Not Your Fathers Reuben with ffs and I had the Beef & Bird sandwich with homemade potato chips. They were both amazing sandwiches. Mine had a smokey bbq sauce with chedder cheese and his Reuben also had a smokey flavor, a pleasant surprise. If youre ever in Warrensburg NY give them a try. You wont be disappointed.

2021-08-21Glad we chose to stop! Had a great meal with great service. Relaxed atmosphere with a nice variety on the menu. The dishes were a nice change of pace. We will be going back before we leave the area for sure!

2021-11-22French Onion soup was to die for… Best I have had. I got the sandwich/soup combo. The turkey sandwich was subpar, nothing special to it. The inside off the resturant feels like you are in a log cabin. Cozy. Our waitress was friendly. My fiancé had the rueben and rated it a 10/10. There was bacon on it, which is odd.. but it actually worked and added even more flavor. We would come back if in the area again. 9/10 overall, and that’s really just because of the sandwich.

2022-05-08Food, Service A++. Employees are super cool. Todd, Terry, Jess. Without a doubt my favorite place to go to after work for grub and a beverage, and lil dessert (chilled Fireball).

2022-01-16Ok lunch. Chicken soup very salty....Nice big grilled cheese sandwich but made with only American cheese. Someone had briscuit sandwich which was fabulous!Very chilly in there
