Received a menu in the mail and decided to give this place a try. I ordered online for delivery and it came relatively quickly judging from my camera. I wasnt home to receive the order but my family was. I get home 3 hours later and realized that an order was missing. I wish I wouldve gotten the managers name because she was so nice to have her delivery person bring me the missing order even though so much time had passed. Aside from great service, the food was great and Ill definitely be ordering from here again but this time Ill make sure Im home to take the order. 😂 Thank you so, so much!!
The woooorst service ever, we had to wait like an hour for our order to be delivered, we received the wrong order, so we had to wait like 40 minutes more to get what we ordered and now the worst wings ever, they are supposed to be buffalo wings but I can’t see the “buffalo” on it. Our first and last time.
Excellent experience. It is a busy spot.I ordered garlic knot pizza slice and added Italian sausage on it.It was amazing. Being back in NY, I love the sliced sausages that are on pizza opposed to sausage crumble that gives me indigestion. I think its horrible. But the sausage was great and the garlic knot was great as well. The service is great as well during these times of mostly carryout.
About 5 pm this evening, we ordered a pizza delievered from Ginos, 1/2 pepperoni and 1/2 extra cheese. It arrived 1/2 pepperoni, but without the extra cheese. I called to have the cost of the extra cheese credited back to my credit card, and first was told they only offer store credit even when the issue is their own fault. I then was put on with a man claiming to be he who actually made the pie, and this person insisted it had extra-cheese when it did not, and refused my refund of..what...60 cents?? And then he hung up on me. So he gets to keep my 60 cents or thereabouts, but in exchange I will never spend another dime there and I will let everyone know how they treat customers and to avoid the place. IF that was extra-cheese, shame on you. IF it wasnt (and it wasnt), you should know it costs far less to keep a customer than it does to replace one youve chased away.
This review is in regards to a take out order. We’ve dined at gino’s before and have been to a party there and have never had any issues. The extra star is for the food but the one star is for their customer service. Today I ate a Cobb salad that cost 24.70. It was good but under no circumstance should a pizzeria salad cost 24.70. When placing the order , I specified no egg or bacon, added Gorgonzola cheese and asked if the grilled chicken could be blackened, to which the answer was yes for an extra charge. Considering that the salad already had grilled chicken on it (in the original 13.95 price) and it costs 5.75 to add grilled chicken to a salad that doesn’t have chicken on it and 7.50 to add blackened chicken to a salad without chicken .. I thought the upcharge for blackened chicken should have been 1.75 . Add 5 dollars for the Gorgonzola.. you have a salad that costs 20.70( which is still pretty ridiculous but sounds more acceptable). Upon noticing that I was charged and extra 7.50 for blackened chicken on a salad that costs 13.95 with grilled chicken already on it (!!!!) I called to point out their mistake and was certain I would be getting my 4 dollars back ( I get 4 dollars is not a significant amount but it really is the principle) , I was told by whoever picked up the phone that this is how their computer calculates it and there’s nothing they can do about it. Even after explaining the whole situation, I was still reassured that yes that was the correct price and that yes it cost an additional 7.50 to add chicken to a salad that already has chicken on it because that is just how the computer does it and there’s no way to make an adjustment. She was sorry. Hmmmm I’m still confused
Placed a catering order yesterday. All of my guests raved that the food was so delicious! My family is thrilled about the leftovers. On top of how good the food was, everything was packaged so well and the employees were extremely nice and helpful. I would highly recommend.
This place use to be great. I use to order from here once a week and lately the pizza has been soggy or not fully cooked which is why we stopped ordering for delivery. I went into the pizzeria to make an order at the counter. In the pizzeria they have plastic flaps with slits in them separating the employees from the customers at the counter. There was a young man who was obviously new and training and when he put the pizza in the box open underneath the plastic flaps and he then proceeded to close the box underneath the plastic flaps INSIDE the box which then got all over the pizza and handed it to us to leave. I walked out with my boyfriend and we took one look at each other and I immediately knew he was just as uncomfortable eating pizza that had possibly touched this plastic flaps in the middle of the height of the second wave of a pandemic. When I went in to complain they tried to deny what happened and we opened the box it was evident that the pizza slices cheese was smeared all over the box and it was obvious it happened from the plastic flaps. There was a man watching him put the pizza in the box and saw what he did with the flaps and he never corrected him and that’s what really leaves a sour taste in my mouth. If they’re doing this in front of customers, what are they doing when you’re not in the pizzeria watching them? Unfortunately this pizzeria lost a customer who eats there once a week.
I did not enjoy this food. It had a weird taste like old grease or maybe it was the breading for the chicken parm. Then I tasted the pizza and it also tasted weird liketheir oven is dirty or something. The best thing was the limoncello cake which was delicious and probably not made by them.
Pizza is usually great from Ginos.Discovered tonight if you want hot food you need to pickup or dine in and not use their delivery service. Delivery took over 90 minutes and food arrived cold. If you do decide to get delivery make sure your oven is on and waiting. This was their delivery service not something like UberEats.
Delivery was fast. The food at Ginos is better then Any pizza in New Hyde Park period. It’s hot and fresh every time. You get big portions and everything is fresh. There kitchen and staff care about your food being hot and fresh. I will never order from umbertos or any other place again! If you like quality food this is the place to go. Thank you Gino’s staff and owners for running your business the right way and making the customer first. The grilled chicken salad and marinara pizza are so good. 100 Stars ⭐️
Staff was ok, that is why I gave it 1 star. Place was clean, anti pasta ok, fried calamari ok, all appetizers were ok, the sauce is straight from a jar and gave us all heart burn immediately. The salmon was fishy, & salty and no one who ordered it (8 who ordered) in our party could even eat it. Its also important to note. We sat at 4 p.m and our food was served at 6:30. We had 20 people in our party total. All of us left still hungry with heartburn. Eggplant was terrible as well. This place I feel is more of a pizzeria.
The time management skills of this establishment are appalling. On numerous occasions I ordered online well in advance, to have my pizza delivered at a specific time. More often than not, they have been consistently between 20 and 40 minutes late for that scheduled delivery. Today I had a delivery set for 3:10pm, not a busy time of day at all. And not a large order, just a salad and one pizza. After the food arrived 20 minutes late, I spoke to a manager who refused to acknowledge his mistake and continued to blame his delivery drivers saying they must be roaming the streets when they leave the restaurant. If this happened once, that might be an argument, but this has happened over and over with different drivers. I have been a consistent and loyal customer for over 2 years, but I will not be ordering from this establishment anymore due to the complete lack of ownership of the managements shortcomings.
Wow wow wow! Called right before closing and they were able to feed us! The penne a la vodka incredible the best calzones, sautéed spinach amazing my 7 year old went crazy for it, delicious mozzarella sticks that melt in your mouth and the chicken parm yum yum. And to boot the delivery guy was super kind and respectful. This is our new go to.
Placed an order in the restaurant for several hundreds of dollars of food to be picked up on Christmas Eve. Upon pick up, their staff told us that we did not pay for our order yet. They didnt believe us when we said we did EVEN WHEN WE PRESENTED A RECEIPT THAT SAID PAID. We wasted about 30 minutes for their staff to search through their records to find the receipt for our order. I felt disrespected by their attitude. Completely unorganized operation! I would avoid yourself the headache during the holidays with larger orders and go to another place like Umbertos which is fairly nearby. I definitely wont be going back!
When to Gino’s for the ESP connection event. Not enough staff to host the event. They only had 2 waiters for approximately 50-60 people. We even had to ask for napkins & a place setting. They were bringing out the dishes one - two at a time. We had to ask for the bread after every table had theirs, as well as the desert which was cannolis. Served on a platter of 6 with no plates to use for them or spoons for the coffee served without the saucer just a cup, which was lukewarm at best. And we were served that way before the desert arrived. They were not prepared for the size group that attended the event.
Both my wife and myself have COVID and our great friends second family ordered food for us the other nightFood came hot and was delicious to say the leastWill have to make a trip there when this quarantine time is over and retestedHighly recommend for take out great portionsAngela n Hank Klushin
I work just down the street from Ginos at one of the local music academies. I brought my family here for a later dinner and we were really happy with the food! This is definitely a family friendly space with a ton of menu options!Marked down one star as they didnt really have a hostess to help with seating. The place is a bit of a madhouse, but that is what adds to the family friendly and lively atmosphere. When a table opened up and we were able to seat ourselves, the service was prompt and professional. We stuck with pizza and salad and all was delicious. I will definitely visit Ginos over and over again.
Went to Psychic Nite at Geno’s last Tuesday. Had previously made reservations for myself and 4 friends. Paid prior to the event. Upon arrival , I was hounded by the two wait staff that I didn’t pay for one person. They later came back and said I was missing gratuity and tax. They refused to serve us and held up our readings until last. I gave all info to Joe who obviously doesn’t know how to take reservations, I checked with my credit sard and payment was made. This ruined my entire evening! Went back two days later and spoke with Joe. I got no satisfaction at all he listened to my complaint and all I got was “ oh well, sorry! I’ve beeb going to this restaurant for over 20 years. That manager has to go, or we won’t go back!
Amazing service! Food is great! Moved to Bellerose Queens... Always had trouble finding really good Italian food but most great pizza.... They have it... Ordering service on the phone great! They embrace technology which saves me ordering on the phone. Always have my order right plus they also deliver. A true GINOS.
Ordered pies they told 40 minutes and we got our pizza cold. not impressed. called to complain, and manager was very rude . not good service. expected more. wont be ordering from Ginos...i wasnt expeting to get money back or anything but a least to apolized...the manager was rude and like he didnt care i told him ok in the future i wont be ordering from you guys anymore...he answer np and hang up on me. Ginos just to be better them what its now. Adios Ginos.
I have been here a few times with family and its been amazing each time. Food is great and atmosphere is good. The only thing id say could be better is to not have to asked for a refill. But i only assume its because they dont want to interrupt conversations, witch i understand. Other wise everthing was great each time. Thank you
I had my sons birthday party at ginos this pat weekend. From the second i walked in a week before Justin and Joe were able to help me. The day of the party Alvin who was in charge of assisting me at the party was right there with helping me put up decorations down to making my son happy. awesome job by all.
This is my opinion- So tried Hi-Class tried UmbertosTried Vaccaros. All fell short on DINNER FOOD.HI-CLASS pizza was to much doe. Vaccaros sauce was blah. Umbertos pizza is ok Dinner no good.Found Gino’s because I go to Wongs garden for Scallion pancakes seen Gino’s. Tried started with two slices. Then got a pie. Then I ordered a pie and pasta choices. Absolutely amazing! I got penna Al la vodka and now have had the garlic oil. Simple old school pasta dishes right ? Well on place is on point. For pizza cheese, sauce and doe well made in symbiotic system 🤣 anyway picked up twice. Delivery twice. Both where good experiences. Staff takes time and allows you to take time in choosing.
Yesterday was football sunday, my boyfriend and I decided to order from ginos pizzeria for dinner. In the middle of the night we found ourselves with terrible stomach pains and running to the bathroom. We are both still sick from the food poisoning that we got from this establishment. I had to call out of work and he had to deal with the pain at work. I will never order from this place again and hope that if other people do eat from here that they read this as a fair warning.
I have never been here before today and will never go back the food was good compliments to the chef but the waitress was plain dumb omg she did not know what the hell she was doing believe me I was in the business i am giving 5 stars only because the food was very good
Called every pizzeria that I know and couldnt squeeze my order in....I work in mineola and need to order lasagna on Christmas Eve ...Andrea is such a sweet heart and got my order in...told her I needed it by 1:20pm and came in at 12:30pm...was wrapped and ready to go! Such great customer service ! Thanks Andrea!!!
HAD SOME PIZZA FOR LUNCH ONE DAY AND THOUGHT IT WAS GREAT. SO I WANTED TO ORDER A MARGERITA PIE FOR ME AND MY WIFE FOR A PRE MOTHERS DAY TREAT. DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM ON A BUSY NIGHT LIKE FRIDAY. MY 20 MINUTE WAIT TURNED INTO A 40 MINUTE WAIT. AND MY MARGERITA WAS RUSHED AND RUINED, THEY SKIMPED ON THE INGREDIENTS AND THE FRESH MOZZ WAS OVER COOKED AND DRY. IT REALLY BUMBED ME OUT. THANKS ALOT GINOS?

2022-02-15Horrible service and customer service.Ordered cheesecake received soggy cake tasted very similar to key lime pie. Slice was placed upside down and packaged that way.Would never order from them again. Called in to notify staff of my dissatisfaction and was rudely interrupted.

2022-06-08I don’t go to Umberto’s for personal reasons from a past bad experience. I moved back to my hometown after having moved away about 20 years ago and was appalled by how I was treated my Umberto’s and had to find a different place to get Italian food. Glad I gave this place a try. We sat down the first time and had a nice waitress and food was good. We got takeout today and food was just as good. Why am I going to fight for parking and wait for a table to go to Umberto’s when they are rude and monopolizing all the business in town? This place is now in our regular ordering cycle.

2019-12-21Amazing food, parking is tuff. But well worth it. Appetizers was some of the best fried Diablo calamari I’ve had in a while. So delicious. Main course was amazing, Rigatoni ala Gino’s was insane! This dish was bursting with flavor, the chicken and sausage was succulent and moist. The all vodka sauce was perfect. And the mozzarella tasted like it was just made. Very impressed. The salmon and vegetable was an enormous dish. It was enough for 2. Very fresh. And the staff and waitress were very polite and professional, Kim & Mayra were so sweet and made the whole experience perfect. The desert was the final icing on the cake. The Tirimusi was heavenly. The whole experience was great until we found out that the owner didn’t allow us to Tip! Very unfortunate. I give the food. service and staff A+ but the fact the owner doesn’t allow people to tip is very disappointing. Especially around the Holidays...

2022-05-22Ive ordered from Ginos for years and was very happy with the quality. My last order was very disappointing as it appears that Ginos has swapped out their previous quality ingredients with inferior substitutes. The sauce was definitely lacking in quality. I wont be buying from Ginos anymore.

2019-10-22Great location with good food. Portions are generous. Pricing is comparable to restaurants of the caliber. It should be given a full five stars. However, service wasnt perfect. Some of the employees just went about their business leaving is hanging wondering where to sit for more than 10 minutes. However, once seated, our server was phenomenal. Maybe they were busy? All in all, a great gem.

2022-02-20I ordered fried calamari by phone for curbside pickup. The young lady answering the phone was quite non-plussed by the request for a curbside pick up. (Its posted as an option on the website). She said it would be ready in15-20 min. When I arrived in 10 min I called and let them know I was outside. I waited 20 min., then called to ask how much longer. She then said Did you call to tell us you were outside? I responded yes. She said shed be right out. She didnt speak to me as she handed me the order. My food was cold. The calamari WAS NOT CRISPY at all! There were no napkins or cutlery in the bag !

2020-07-04This was my first time here, the pizza was fine. Nothing thats gonna blow your socks off but safe. I had regular, pepperoni, and chicken marsala.Everything tasted good. Crunch was good, though on the marsala slice the bottom was very soggy. I guess it is kind hard to have a crunchy bottom with such a heavy topping. But I enjoyed it.Will most likely come back.
