Giorgio Hotel in Long Island City
I dont often take the time to publish a great review but I think this hotel is worth the time. I had a great experience here. The staff was very nice and helpful; the room was very clean and it provided great amenities. We were lucky enough to have a view. The location is not the best but you can walk to grab food and snacks from local places.
Very decent hotel and good price for NYC. The rooms are standard sized room, modern, accessible. Pity there are no coffee makers in the rooms. But there is a little store in the lobby and a coffee shop 1 minute walk away. Guests are alright, mostly students. Road has many bodywork garages and looks a bit run down but the neighbourhood is fine. Definitely recommendable.
Can I put 0 stars? I made a reservation at this hotel using the Hotels Tonight application (first time using the application). Went to the hotel front desk and was informed that the booking was for the following date. I asked if they could correct the mistake and they said no. I called the following morning Hotels Tonight and they agreed to refund me, however Hotels Tonight informed me that the hotel would have to approve the refund. I was informed by Hotels Tonight that they contacted Giorgio Hotel management staff and that they denied the refund. I tried to speak with Giorgio management personally but the phone was continuously busy. I emailed them and never received a reply. At the end of the day I was billed $135 and NEVER stayed in the hotel at all. Complete robbery for providing me ZERO service. Thanks for nothing. So for those looking to stay here know that if something is wrong you will receive ZERO customer service or accommodation. I would HIGHLY recommend you stay elsewhere. Good luck to you all.
Weird stench all across the hotel. The guy who sits in the reception in the morning has no idea how customer service works. Assigned me a female room twice even though I was male.Made me move my belongings on my own. Didnt even offer to help. Please do not waste your time and money. They also take a 50 USD unannounced deposit for dorms and 100 USD deposit for the private rooms. Please stay away. Youre better off somewhere else.
The location of the hotel is great. Close to the express F train. The shared dorms are not well designed. There is no place to charge phone for upper bed person. The restroom is inside the suite which is nice. But there is the trace of smell of weed in the restroom. The AC is very loud. You can hear everything from the hallway at night. I can never connect to the wifi with any of my device. I lived here due to an emergency situation in my apt. I would never recommend anyone who visits NYC stay here.
Terrible HotelThe Price is good only paid 15 dollars a night. The only Issues I have are1. You have to put $50 deposit on a SHARED room!!2. No Privacy what so ever! They just randomly walk into your room without Knocking3. Accidental Checked out early and asked if I could check back in. And I was told No. and when I asked for a refund for the night I didn’t stay. I was told to email the hotel. And never received a response. So I ended up having to stay up for about 32 hours cause I couldn’t afford a hotel cause I never received my refund or deposit
We stayed here for 3 nights. The room was super clean, the bed was a king size with a really awesome mattress, they cleaned our room every day, and we were at the 10th floor with a view. The room was super comfortable and the staff really friendly. I highly recommend this hotel.
I love staying here. The rooms are so clean and comfortable. Anyone who works at the desk is so friendly and helpful. You also mwet some cool people here downstairs in tbe Common Area, which has a great TV, pool table and now an air hockey table! I wish they had more of a variety of snacks, but that isnt an issue at all.
LOVE 💘 this hotel. Very, very clean. Modern and quiet. Stayed for a weekend and was very peaceful. Has soap, shampoo, and body wash dispensers in the bathroom. No on-site parking, street parking only. But I was able to find parking on the same street each time I returned. Will definitely be my go-to when headed back to NY.
Traveled to New York with my family for the baseball game over the weekend and did not realize they were shared rooms. Upon arrival I checked into the hotel by myself, at the front desk prior to signing in I was informed that the room had a bed and 2 bunk beds. I signed the form as my family of 3 was coming in. As we began to board the elevator we were stopped and told all of us couldnt stay because it was shared room. I explained that I was unaware of it being a shared room. She told me I could stay in the unit but my family couldnt with a smile on her face. I asked if I can get my money back for the weekend and she gave me the number to the manager. I have been calling the number since Saturday morning and I am unable to leave a message because the mail box is full. I was forced to go across the street to the Best Western Plus were I was treated with nothing but hospitality and also offer a discount for the 2 night family.
This was the best value and nicest place I found to stay in NYC after moving several times, it was clean, spacious and very friendly staff. They have a roof garden too. The rooms have great air-con and blankets, sheets, towels changed daily. Area is near enough to walk into Manhattan too, and there is a fabulous Mexican cafe close by $5 for a whole breakfast.
The hotel is cute. Very minimalistic. They really came through for me I got stuck in atlanta and they were gracious enough to move my reservation. The evening and nighttime clerks could have been a bit more friendly. They didnt have any complimentary lotion or toothpaste.
They advertised free parking which was one of the big reasons we chose this hotel. They do not have any parking and we’re referring only to street parking. The only available street parking is at least 3 blocks away, if you can find any, as the hotel is in a commercial area and the steeets are reserved for loadin and unloading. Parking anywhere near the hotel between the house of 8am and 6pm will result in a ticket of at least $115.The rooms are very small, which was fine for us as we only need it to sleep. The amenities were the absolute bare minimum so you will need to bring your own toiletries. Their hand soap, body soap, and shampoo were all in liquid dispensers attaches to the wall. I was pleasantly surprised by the fact that they had a hair dryer though. They only leave you with one key per room and the key is not only for opening the door but for providing the electricity. You have to keep it in a wall slot for the lights to work. If someone stays behind you must leave the key with them. If a couple should separate and meet back then you’d best hope you know who will be back first otherwise you’ll be waiting for the person with the key.I’ve never stayed anywhere with so little to offer and they don’t advertise any of this. If I’d known what I was going to get then there is NO way I would’ve chosen this hotel.
The hotel is pretty good! I liked the beds. As silly as it is, the blankets are really soft. One thing is that they advertise having parking, but all it is is street parking thats sometimes all taken. We spent a half hour looking for any parking spot, which was a waste of our time.
Decent place with pool, foosbal table and nice, comfy matresses. The best thing is the bathroom, which is really nice and well-cleaned.BUT:The neighbour is not friendly at all. We were only comfortable with walking around during the day and be back before 10PM.The AC is moldy and it made me cough all the time, so if you are also sensitive to this go somewhere else. The room can get pretty messy as there is no wardrobe to store your stuff for longer term. (We also found some previous residents stuff in our locker)
Definitely not as advertised. The hotel is between project buidings and car repair shops, so the walk is quite unsafe and nervewrecking. Upon arriving, the slide doors were not working, so we came in through a side door. The lobby was nice, but upon closer inspection, everything was scuffed and slightly dirty. Check-in at 3 pm took forever, and I had to request a second key (we were 2 guests in a private room). Entering the elevator was a nightmare, it smelled like they cleaned it with mold and cheap chemical cleaner. I finally got up to my room on the 10th floor to discover, lo and behold, I had to insert my card in a slot for power. Despite the power, the big lamp didnt turn on, and the nightstand lamp switch was hidden behind the nightstand. Speaking of the nightstand, one of them had a gloss stain on it, and the other had a broken shelf inside. The carpet had brush stains on one wall, and what we HOPE was a paint stain by the desk. The desk chair was ridiculously uncomfortable. Towels, bedsheets, and pillows had suspicious stains. No mini-fridge, microwave. We got to stare at a NO HAY SENAL bounce around the screen because the FiosTV box wasnt even active. The bathroom had no individual soaps, just those wall holders that made me not want to shower. This isnt even a hotel. This is a HOSTEL, who gets away with calling themselves a hotel because they have a few private rooms available.
Very poor customer service, hidden charges, and incorrect description of the rooms. I paid for a two bed but upon arrival I was given only 1 bed when I came with a party of 3. The room were very cramped and I had to request another bed sheet because they appeared soiled. No coffee maker or refrigerator. When I brought the issue up with front desk, he apologized and said there were no more rooms available and even gave us issues when I asked for another sheet. He said you cannot sleep on the floor when I never said anything about sleeping on the floor. Now I find an additional $100 charge on my credit card without any explanations of why I was charged AFTER I had already paid almost $200. Be careful when you book with them. Would not come back or recommend to anyone!
If youre looking to get a cheap and decent private room....look somewhere else. The total you get when you book the room on their website is deceiving because thats not the total. I got charged $67 extra at arrival because apparently taxes arent included in the *total* they give you when you book the room, but by then it was too late to go anywhere else. Ended up paying almost $300 for 2 nights and Ive literally stayed at decent hotels in Manhattan for the same or less. The area around this hotel is run down and I didnt feel safe walking back from the train at night. If youre looking in Long Island City, stay at Queens County Inn. Safer feeling area, closer to the train station, free breakfast and convenient 24 hr shops and restaurants around.
My wife and I found this hotel in Brooklyn while searching for affordable places to stay while visiting NYC. It’s not cheap, but not expensive. But what surprised us was the decoration and the hotel style, which seemed to be gone through a whole renovation. Although the room was a bit tight, we really liked it and even consider staying there for a second time.
Good for if you need a cheap place for a night and arent interested in an atmosphere. Theres no area to hang out with anyone, though there are some beverages sold in the lobby. They required a large deposit for a one-night stay with a lot of rules that could incur charges if broken, though it never caused any problems for me.
I would strongly advise against staying here. The site is a squalid dump, the neighbourhood is sketchy to say the least, the staff are rude and unhelpful and the business practices of the management border on illegality. For instance, they cancelled our booking without informing us hours before we were due to arrive. This resulted in two tourists getting off a 10 hour flight, late at night, having no accommodation in an unfamiliar city. The management offered no explanation, apology or compensation. They did offer us a replacement room in a different site - except this was halfway across the city, a single room for two grown men and they tried to charge us nearly a thousand dollars for it - almost twice the cost of our original booking.Simply put, the fate of your holiday is not safe in the hands of these crooks. Don’t risk the stress and chance of utter disaster.
The worst. I thought I was booking a one bedroom with a queen bed, when I get there me and my husband pay for the room which just so happened to be a one bunk bed for one person. The lady didnt even bother to tell me that I was paying for a bunk bed when thats not what I had requested online, she took the payment and after taking the payment she took into consideration to say oh you know you paid for one person stay in one of the bunk beds right. I tried to get another room but nothing was available or too expensive for the overall appearance of the hotel. I asked if she could help me to return my money and she said no. She told me to try to contact the hotel manager but the number she gave me was disconnected. Ended up having to go to another hotel and one month later I still have not received a refund for the money I spent and didnt receive services for.
Great place. very clean and neat. Very comfortable too. Please make sure when you pay online throgh an online portal or credit card, carry the card to the reception during check in as it wont accept the payment otherwise. It also takes in a security deposit of 100$ which is refunded during checkout. Good service staff available round the clock.
I booked a prepaid reservation at this hotel online, and upon arrival the hotel is boarded up AND ARE SHUT DOWN. I was left stranded. Do not book a stay here. The hotel is accepting payment for rooms while they do not exist. DO NOT STAY. I have not been able to contact any management whatsoever and have not been received any refunds or compensation whatsoever. Ripped off and need many money back.
My girlfriend and I went to the hotel for a one week stay while visiting New York. Location is great thanks to proximity with the subway (The F and 7 lines are within walking distance) which brings you to Manhattan in less than 30 minutes. Prices are also much lower than on the island, and the bed was very comfortable. However, we sometimes got towels with small stains, which was a bit strange, and WiFi in our room was very slow. Of course, this could depend highly on where you are relative to the routers. There is also no restaurant on location, so breakfast must be taken elsewhere. You could also buy some groceries at one of the nearby supermarkets, but as there is no fridge in the rooms options are limited. All in all, I would definitely recommend this hotel to people who want a cheap way of visiting New York City and who dont expect to do much else than sleep in it.
We were there last December, and loved the accommodation. We stayed in a king suite, and it was clean, comfortable and quiet.Far more affordable than any AirBnb we could find, and definitely worth it! Only 5 min walk to the subway, little brekkie place on the corner, and the staff were all friendly and helpful at answering questions and giving recommendations.Would absolutely stay again!
This had to be the worst stay at a hotel I have ever experienced. The staff was absolutely terrible. Check in is at 3pm but they have an early check in which was not offered to us so I had to wait 6hours before I could check in. Once in the room it was much smaller than advertised and nothing but a table and a chair in the room. Not a microwave nothing. Asked for extra pillows they brought two pillows, 4 people staying, saying thats all they had left in the hotel. The next day house cleaning came but I was getting dressed about to leave asked her to come back in 5 min(in Spanish because the staff doesnt speak english) on my way down informed the front desk I was leaving could they send her back up, theh say yes. Come back a few hours later all trash is still there linens not changed bathroom not cleaned. So I dressed for the evening and left AGAIN asked the front to please send someone up to clean they again responded with yes of course. Came back that night NOTHING IS DONE no fresh linens trash still overflowing bathroom notcleaned, no fresh towels, I was beyond upset. Next morning I informed them on my way out again and told them noone ever came to clean, they respond with thats never happened before. I highly doubt that. Long story short, find somewhere else lot of places around. I thought I was getting a good place until I stepped inside. Not a welcoming place. Dirty and amenities are non existant..no coffee microwave is in the basement, just all bad. If I could give a negative I would.
Its ok but the rooms are small and the staff dont know all the policies so it makes it hard to take them seriously. The mini store that they have is very expressive and not sorry spending money on $4 bottle of water that actually costs $1.75. The WiFi is spotty, and trying to order food is hard because the address changes to a block over by itself. There are creepy paintings all over the place, in the rooms and halls. The location is between Auto body shops, construction, other hotels, and has no parking for anyone. The room layout is a bit strange and confusing.
Very clean. Close to the subway but not much to do at night around the area, especially since it didnt feel safe. The front desk guy was very friendly. $50 deposit, if paid with credit card will be returned after 5-10 business days; if cash, will be returned upon check out.
They advertised free parking which was one of the big reasons we chose this hotel. They do not have any parking and we’re referring only to street parking. I absolutely love this perfect oasis of a hotel. The Giorgio Hotel is everything you’d like for it to be. From the front desk staff to the accomodations... it is perfection in a bottle. Let me tell you, when I initially found this Hotel it was fairly new, so like you may be now, I was nervous when choosing it. I came in a snowstorm last minute after my Air B&B fell through. Front desk was patient, told me the details of the deposit for the room and the return of that deposit, lounge area, refreshment options and more.Well well well, I had no idea a Hotel could be better than its pictures until I arrived here. The heat & air work well. It is so clean. Housekeeping takes care to pay attention to detail. When you come back later after they’ve finished cleaning, the bed is made with new sheets/plush comforter/towels AND it’s febreze & fabuloso fresh! They have carefully chosen awesome mattresses for your comfort. Even better? Its only 3 short blocks from the subway train, not far from Queens Plaza, and only two stops from Midtown Manhattan. When here on the weekends it makes it easier to meet your friends and enjoy events of your choosing. My experience at the Giorgio Hotel has been nothing less than amazing. *5 thumbs up from me!!!* Each and every time I need to book a hotel in New York, I will definitely choose this one. You should too :)
I loved my stay so much !! Rooms were new , new building , very clean , comfortable , design of the rooms and lobby and lounge was amazing , loved all the colors as well . Location was Superb as well , close to all attraction , 10 min with subway to Times Square . They have great price too !Stuff was welcoming and multilingual -all of them which is great for all tourist coming from other countries . I will go back only to Giorgio Hotel and will recommend to any one . I felt like at home !!
It Was A Comfortable Environment. I Booked My Stay Through Expedia & Paid Only $44 Per Night For A Shared 4 Bed Dorm. They Have A Living Area On The Lower Level With A Pool Table, Microwave, & Storage Unit. On The Downside, The Linen Was Soiled And A Few Of The Staff Were Unprofessional.
This is a functional hotel at a reasonable price for NYC. One train gets you to midtown, but make sure you either eat before you come or bring something with you. There are only corner delis after dark. Their choices are sandwiches and processed food snacks. The hotel itself is clean with efficient staff.
I stayed on a private room and it was so nice. Everything was very clean and new. Location was good, super close to a subway to take you straight to manhattan without the manhattan prices. The o lot thingi did not like was the guy that checked us in. Very rude through the stay. No mannners what so ever and I think I was not the only one complaining about his attitude. All the female staff was nice and I give the hotel a 5 because the hotel alone is pretty good. Just needs better employees. Would stay when I go again.
Horrible. Light didnt work in room and got a miss description of my room I booked on a 3rd party. Checked in and checked out 1hr later. Bad area. Spend that $100 more for a better hotel else wear. Got a (private) room all it had was a beds nothing else. No char, no desk nothing. Staff seems confused and dont care. Just dont go.
Let me start by saying my initial impression was okay. I checked in with a real nice lady but was slapped with fees taking my 1 night stay from $45 to $113 not including the $50 hold (many people never see returned) . First night there’s a bedbug on my pillow. Lower Bunks too small to sit up on . Check in / check out trimmed my actual stay from 24 hrs to about 16 so I had to pay for extended. Staff barged in after 1 knock to fold towels and sheets. Was rushed out to meet check out time by uninformed staff. Today is the second day it’s around 1am i’m in the lounge area and i’m harassed the 2nd time by another receptionist wondering if I belong here because it’s “strange” that i’m not in my room. Point is, save your coins and get a room ANYWHERE else !
Building is modern and in good repair. AC worked well during a heat wave. Elevators were a good plus! Great linens, mattress, pillow. Location is pretty bad, quite a walk (15 min) to subways to Manhattan. Nothing interesting nearby. Could not find a kitchen. Communal space is small, boring.
I have stayed @ plenty hotels in my life and have also made plenty of mistakes in my life because I am only human. I accidentally booked a hotel at this dump and instead of charging me the $198 cancellation they were supposed to charge me, I was charged $243. Absolutely disgusted with this place. I have never endured a bad experience booking a hotel until I came across Georgio. I wouldn’t recommend to anyone. Worst experience ever!!!
Four-person dorms was clean, and I had the room to myself for two nights. Came back one day, however, and all my stuff was piled up behind reception. They said a group of four had booked up a room, so they had to move me into another dorm. Bit odd just shifting all my possessions out without warning. Some might say the location is a bit sketchy (desolate streetscape with mainly garages/mechanics) but didnt have any issues.
I stayed at the Giorgio Hotel last Sunday. At check-in, the front desk scanned both my passport and my debit card. I complained at the time about scanning my card, but I was assured it would be shredded by management upon check-out. I hostel a lot and no one does that. Now it’s the following Saturday, and I have fraudulent charges appearing on my card. I rarely use that card and always with its chip for protection. I called the Giorgio’s management office to find out who had access to my information and if it had truly been shredded. They put me on hold for 30 minutes and then hung up on me. I called back and they hung up immediately.Stay here at your own risk. Also, it’s low cost and proximity to LGA mean that people will be arriving to the room at say for example, 12:30am and 3am, turning on the lights and getting settled in a tiny room with two or three other people trying to sleep.Nothing about this hostel is redeeming. Don’t stay here.
The hotel is new and staff is friendly. Location is really close to the subway and easy to get in and out of the city thru the F line. The hotel is a little walk from any good food or drugstores. There is a really good Thai restaurant within walking distance on 36th st. The place is nicely clean.
Very poor customer service. I booked a single room which got cancelled without a reason or a notion by the hotel on the day of arrival. No apology or explanation was given. Very disturbing because they already reserved the payment on my creditcard. Since it was already evening, I had to rush and arrange another place stay in NY. Not something you want to do as a single traveler in NY.
Room is DIRTY. DANGEROUS AREA. CREDIT CARD FRAUD. BAD pillow. CAN NOT SLEEP. Feel so UNSAFE when you walk around that area AT NIGHT. Front desk will CHEAT on customers and dont be fooled!! After checked in, your money will NEVER be refunded (even $1) if you have ANY problem about this hotel. NO REFUND EVER. They NEVER feel SORRY for their service. They THINK their hotel is perfect and you CANT debate with them about any issue. If you want an INCREDIBLE HORRIBLE trip and want to be get MAD at their front desk, you could try it. If you want to be more MAD, see their MANAGER.THEY ARE ALWAYS RIGHT. CUSTOMERS ARE ALWAYS WRONG.
We liked it for the money paid. Family of four adults for six nights.Pros:-value for money-newer construction-very convenient location - close to Manhattan downtown (5 minutes to 21st -Queensbridge metro station and 3 minutes to 21st street bus routes)-clean room and bathroom-big showerhead and washbasin-big window-safe box-iron and iron board-hair dryer-good quality towels-quiet rooms-common area with microwave oven, free ice dispenser, foosball tableCons:-no coffee machine-no fridge, microwave-carpet is slightly dirty-room and bathroom size are on the smaller side-bare ceiling without finishing-TV channels not working-body moisturizing lotion not available-little dirty locality-no on-site parkingWe carried own toaster and hot water kettle.
Everyone makes mistake and my mistake was that I didnt read the policy. I booked this room thru Air B & B because for a homeless man that works for Uber eats its very economical and beats the new York City shelter system, so thru the Air B & B app you can set your filters as I did and the pricing youre able to set to your own budget and so I did. I set it for no more than 60 so after a long night if doing Uber in Manhattan I was so excited to head out to the Georgio since they had my reservation and it turns out they asked me for 15.00 dollars more and another 100 on top of that which all I had was the 58.00 in which my debit card was charged. So being the fact that was my only money I asked for a refund and they said they dont do refunds and I asked can you kindly waive it for me please Im homeless and can use that money for a place to stay tonight and they said again it says it clearly on our policy so again I said I apologize I admit I failed to do that and it was an honest mistake. So here I am a day later waiting to see who is responsible for my refund? If or not I will get it ? And is this just a legal way of robbing people I can only imagine that Im not the only one that doesnt read the fine print.
Had a horrible experience. Our son got to the hotel at 7 pm and was told the credit card that was used was declined and the kicked him out and closed the door. After a follow up call, they had sent an email at 3:30 am canceling the reservation because the first name of the card didn’t match the first name on the reservation. Last name was the same. Very rude and poor service.
Good hostel just 2 stations from Manhattan, has a nice “hostel-style” social area despite being more like a 3 star hotel than a hostel. Everything looks new and clean, dorms got free shampoo. Worth it staying in LIC to save some cash but you’ll need an unlimited subway card as there is not too much in the neighbourhood itself.
Where do I even begin? The staff in this facility are incompetent, unhelpful and unequipped for public service. During our stay at this hotel, we encountered a series of issues. To begin, beds were made to look as if they had been changed, but the sheets had clearly not been changed, as stains we had noticed on previous days were still visible. Next, there was a continuously bad smell outdoors, that meant we were unable to open our window without the smell filtering into our room. Finally, and most worryingly, our private possessions were misplaced (aka stolen) by staff, as no one else apart from us and the cleaning staff should have had access to our room. Our items were safely tucked away near our luggage, clearly not for disposal, and far away from the trash can, but when we returned on our final night they were completely gone. When we tried to retrieve our items by heading to the reception desk, we were treated with very little regard or respect, blatantly ignored by reception staff and the head caretaker alike (who weakly searched for our items before walking away from us mid-sentence whistling), and were finally told that nothing could be done.
I checked out this morning after 3 days stay in Giorgio Hotel . It is brand new with a lot of great design , great stuff, Management was amazing . We love tall girl very long hair she looked Easter European was super helpful and amazing always smiling and greeting each of her customers . She used to come rarely but when she do she brightens all place . She might be a Supervisor/Manager . For this great customer service we will always come back !!
This hotel was soooo sketchy. This is a huge paragraph, but thats only because theres a LOT to say...Firstly, its all dormitory style. The pictures on their website show single rooms and one of the ladies at the front desk said that they have NO single rooms....so...false advertising there. The room I had was basically a concrete box with 4 beds. Only one outlet worked. So four ppl were taking turns charging phones, blow drying hair, and plugging in their stuff. No fridge. No microwave. No ice. Nothin. Its basically a roof over your head and a cot to sleep in. You have to pay a $50 deposit upon arrival in case any damages occur during your stay. Luckily, I had $50 on me. I asked the lady since there are 4 people in one room, how do you know who does what damage? She said to just stick to your side of the room...and just....thats it. Hope for the best. A few days later during my stay, my other roommates had left so I asked the lady at the front desk if anyone else was scheduled to arrive in my room, so I would know to be quiet when coming in at 1am. She basically said she had no idea. She didnt assign guests to their rooms...someone else did that.....so.....once again...Im left without an answer. Earlier, my room card didnt work. I came down, the lady gave me a new key. I went back up to my room. Still didnt work. I came back down. She radioed someone to help me. Meanwhile, shes got a line of 10 ppl. Its going so slowly. I can see the frustration on everyones faces. Other people are upset at the deposit. Others didnt realize it was a dormitory for the WHOLE hotel and argued with the lady. Finally 15 minutes later a guy comes up, I get a new room key, and he comes up to my room with me. I try it, and it still doesnt work. Im frustrated by now, hoping he has a solution. He says he has to go down to get his master key, and see if that works. Im waiting again getting increasingly more agitated...like why didnt he bring that in the first place?...finally my room mate opens the door for me. She said she LOCKED it, not expecting my room key to not work. Because....its a room KEY, why wouldnt it unlock my room? One other thing, was during the 1st morning I was there, I hear a knock on the door, so I call that they can come in. Its a male staff member asking if we are checking out today. I look at him confused and say that no, Ive got 3 nights there. He says oooh okay. Looks around confused and asks if I know about the other guests in the room and their scheduled check out dates....I tell him I dont know....because really I hadnt talked with the other room mates much. We were all out and about mostly. And....shouldnt he know the comings and goings of the people who are staying there? So he asked if I needed anything cleaned up. I told him the waste basket was the only garbage I could see. He said hed come back when I left in a half hour. Later, when I came back from sight seeing at like 10-11pm I noticed the only thing he cleaned was the wastebasket. The sheets werent changed. The dirty towels werent replenished....like I didnt know I had to literally tell him everything that a maid should know to do in a hotel??? This was the worst hotel ever. Not helpful staff. Seemed like it was everyones first day on the job because no one knew anything. Its actually still a 20-30 minute drive into the city so its not even considered close. Ugly looking decor, furniture, walls, floor. Everything was dated and old. The elevator wheezed...like actually wheezed. The building was run down and the key cards dont even work....never going back there again.
This place is poorly ran, several issues occurred with only two nights stay. The staff were very rude. They changed us to ten hotel rooms, and the shower didn’t work. One room the toilet was missing. Many people walked in on us while we stayed here, because the stay was unaware who they placed in which room. Never stay here.
It wasn’t too bad up to the point some of my makeup went missing after the room was cleaned. I reported it to the reception with the managers only replying that nobody is interested in taking my makeup and essentially accussing me of lying.Disappointing approach to as serious an issue as theft.Watch your belongings!
False marketing!!!! They show rooms with 4 beds making look is for one person, and is SHARED with other people. Horrible room.I totally agree you can offer that service, but please TELL SPECIFICALLY IS A SHARED ROOM, and write the word SHARED, don’t omit it to lie your customers.I tried to cancel and they didn’t want to return the money. Horrible experience, with terrible customer service!!
Worst customer service ever! An employee stole from my room and they refused to even check the camera or anything. They lied and said they cant check their cameras. Then why have them? When I asked them to check the schedule to determine who it was that was working they lied again and said the employees just come when they want to. Yeah, Ok... The location is literally in a crack neighborhood. You would not feel safe going out at night. My advice obviously would be to check out one of the other Hostels...
Very horrible experience. Very poor hotel. Sketchy area. No proper customer service at all. Desk people are so rude. Came for 1 night and was told that the room that I booked is not available and they have no avail upgrade at that moment. Needed to wait for hours. Don’t book this hotel ever again. 100% disappointment. Ruined my entire trip!!
As advertised, the Giorgio Hotel is a quick walk to the nearest subway, and was offered at a reasonable price - these were the two main draws for me. The location is a bit off the beaten path, and required some research to find near-by food. That said, my conference had me in Manhattan daily - so as the staff graciously helped me to get checked in earlier than normal (the day I arrived), and the single room was everything I required to rest, reset and get back to business early each morning - if you are a savvy traveller who doesnt mind a hotel that also offers some hostel style rooms, the Giorgio Hotel is a good option.
This one service is so suck. I made booked this hostel for two-day staying but unfortunately i just needed oneday than had cancel. Than thay charged 44.50usd thay told me cancelation policy is charged. So i explan my situation but if i want stay there they sad i have to pay again. Who want like that. Even if talk finish who just hung up the phone. I will also post all hostel webpage too. Ive been many hostel they gave me flexible and kind. Here so unpolite and bad
Make sure you read the fine print before getting a room. They put you in a dorm room with other people. I drove five hours to get here had no idea Id be sharing a room with three other people... Got to the hotel asked for new room nope, asked for money back nope. Eventually found a room in NJ ruined my vacation.
Please dont go to this hotel . They are extremely rude and unprofessional. My credit card was charge 96.5 from my credit card for a room I have never stayed at . I called the hotel multiple times to be refunded back my money and everything the lady at the front desk answers with an attitude and tells me its nonrefundable. And directs me to call else where . Today is the fourth day and I still havent received back a refund .
The Giorgio Hotel is an updated barebones hostel. It is perfect for people who want to explore NYC without breaking the bank. They do check luggage, and hold it for you if you arrive early or have a very late flight out. This let us explore NYC a little longer on departure day.Definitely worth checking out, but like all hostels every experience is different depending on your roommates.
A newly born hotel and hostel in Queens. Everything is fresh and clean the beds the bathrooms are sparkly clean and comfortable. A very nice place to spend nights in queens close to Astoria, East Manhattan, easy access to transportations. The staff are very kind, welcoming and Helpfull. I have to mention Elena and Sayed they are so nice.
Disapponting! Altough the rooms are modern and clean, and the staff is nice, too, everything seems a bt edgy. They are understuffed and badly organized. Also, they transferred me to another room without notifying me and brining my belongings there without telling me either. Unacceptable. Would not stay again.
U GUYS MUST NOT USE THIS HOTELthey pay me about the safety fee about $50 and told me after 1 week they will refund that money into my account. i stayed at that hotel in 14th of june, and today is 26th of june. of course they didnt refund.even this hotel is pretty cheap, they deceive ppl. U GUYS MUST NOT USE THIS HOTEL
Update 8/29/18: SHADY crooks! I was charged 1 month later after filing a dispute with my bank and winning. I thought they appealed so I called my bank to inquire. This was a ROGUE CHARGE! They decided to simply charge my card again after losing a dispute thinking maybe I wouldnt notice. Avoid this place at all cost. Do NOT give a company like this any of your business.Bed Bugs! Felt stuff crawling on me all night. Refused to issue a refund saying that these are mosquito bites (I know the difference) AC has that moldy musk smell to it. All around bad vibes. Stay elsewhere even if its a bit extra!
So the room I got was a QUADRUPLE which mean 2 bunk beds, with NO TV ugh.. But staff was super friendly and was able to better accommodate me the next day to a double full for an small additional fee which was worth it... No on site parking, street parking sucks.. Enjoy..🗽🗽🗽
The hotel may be close to Manhattan geographically, but it takes at at least 40 minutes to get there from here. The Queensboro Bridge is the only link between the 2 boroughs. As you can imagine, traffic can be a problem. The 21st Street Subway is a shory 5-minute walk, and is only served by the F Train. I had to transfer between trains to visit the attractions I wanted, such as the World Trade Center. The F Train is not the besy option to directly get into Manhattan. Perhaps these reasons explain why the hotel is relatively cheap. The hotel is in an industrial area. The street it is on mainly consist of car repair shops. It is best to avoid walking out late night.
Housekeepers are coo no problem we did lose a hat that was never discovered or calledback.. But the place is clean beds are coo just no microwave in room so have to go downstairs to use near a dark exit in the basement weird.. Ask for enough towels because they only give you 2 even if theres 4 people staying ..The rooms has a cool view not like its the best view but its something.. the area is pretty ghetto but people are coo just not the best spot.. Really could have left you guys a great r3view if you guys had breakfast or microwaves and fridges in the rooms i know its not that type but damn it sucked not having cold water..
HORRIBLE PLACE TO STAY NOBODY ANSWERS THE PHONES , THERES NO MANAGERS NOR CORPORATE FOR COMPLAINTS AND QUESTIONS. THEY TAKE YOUR MONEY NO REFUND . TOOK ME 3 DAY TO GET IN TOUCH WITH SOMEONE HERE AND NOW ITS TO LATE TO CANCEL AND THEY REFUSE TO GIVE ME A REFUND . HORRINLE DISGUSTING SHAMEFUL HOTEL .
I Booked a room with them on November,20th,2019 for November 22nd,2019 and canceled 40 mins after I received the confirmationE-mail which state that I booked a bed.Even though I canceled 40Mins right after I made the reservation they took $310.00 from my bank account and sent me a message saying that its there policy to take the full amount .I canceled this reservation 40Mins after I made this reservation upon noticing the error. On November 22nd they charged me $310 for a reservation that I canceled and they were notified on November 20th, 40minutes after I made this reservation for cancellation.
I stayed there for 3 daysthe rooms where cleaneach dorm room has its own shower which is awesome for a hostelits less than 10 min walk from the subway stationand by subway it takes about 10 minutes to get mannhattenthe reception was really helpful and is open 24/7this place is missing one thing.. that is some common hangout space for its residents, i met all sorts of amazing people in my stay there, and if there wouldve been awesome to just chill at some common space in the hoteloverall awesome expierience.. highly recommended
The details online and pictures are NOT misleading, stayed for 5 days and the room was nice and clean you can tell the building was brand new.Customer service was great from house keeping to the receptionist and I recommend anyone going to New York for a few days to stay as well because the quality service you recieve is a at reasonable rate.
Terrible customer service, extremely rude manager. Had to call the cops because he was aggressive and unprofessional. His name is Tom. Staff not willing to help. Very bad experience overall, DO NOT STAY HERE ! DO NOT RISK YOUR LIFE ! LOCALS STAY THERE FOR A NIGHT AND SMOKES IN THE ROOM !!
I booked the hotel for 5 nights, but my card declined and I got the mail when I am on board they asked me to add a new card but I told them I have nn any other cards I request that I am on flight hopefully Ill there by 10 PM they told me ok we Reserve your booking as you are coming but when I arrived another lady told me that it has been cancelled I had to pay extra and I booked again for quite extra money.

2021-12-09Had a bed in a four man bedroom for 40$. Everything was very fine. A clean bathroom, the sheets seamed fresh, only the blanket was dirty. Of course it isnt a 5 star hotel, but for that price I cant complain. Also the staff was very nice and helpful. I had the luck to check in a hour early.

2019-06-06The check in and luggage storage process was great. We were able to leave our luggage before checking in a locked secure room and were given a tag. I booked on a third party site. The room was small but nice. A couple of the towels were torn and old and needed to be thrown away. The furniture and restroom fixtures did look cheap. We slept well on the very comfortable bed. I enjoyed the Stay overall. Perfect for an overnight stay.

2021-02-19I stayed here a while ago with 4 friends, and when I registered into the hotel the lady at the desk didn’t tell us nothing about the amount of people. We left for the day and when we came back at night there was an Asian lady at the desk and told us that we were 5 and the room was only for 4, she told us that if we didn’t pay $100 more we wouldn’t be able to stay at the hotel. Total Scam!!! Don’t go to this hotel, way better hotels in better areas.

2019-07-05It suited my purposes. A cheap place to sleep. The room is about as basic as you can get. The neighborhood is very dirty but I never felt unsafe. Just a lot of homeless people asking for spare change but they leave you alone if you tell them you dont have any. The drinks in the lobby are very overpriced. $4.50 for a smart water. Thats high even for New York. I would stay here again but if you are looking for a hotel with all the bells and whistles, you will be extremely disappointed.

2020-02-03Nice clean room. No parking anywhere. Sketchy area. Charged extra per person. I was satisfied with the room. Probably wont stay here again because I was told where to park, but then got ticketed. Be careful when getting a room here, as most are dorm style where you share your room and bathroom. We stayed in a private room, and still had to pay per person.

2019-08-20Comfortable bed, spacious room. A nice looking hotel. Very sketchy area, but didnt have any trouble so dont let the area deter you. People were nice enough. Very close to subway. Good value if wanting to stay in New York without the huge price tag. WiFi was average.

2018-01-02The Hotel is pretty nice. The rooms are comfortable and the restrooms are clean. My bed was super comfy, you don’t want to leave. The staff is great, they help you whenever you need them. The only thing that I didn’t like is that from the upper berth you can’t reach to charge your phone. You have to leave it down there. And the lockers for your stuffs were too small, so you just can put your most valuable stuffs. You can’t safe your whole bag.

2018-08-23We enjoyed our stay here. The rooms were small but no complaints, especially since we arrived at 3am and went straight to sleep. The beds were comfortable, the room was clean. The only downside is there is no breakfast, which would be helpful when traveling with kids.

2020-03-09The Giorgio Hotel was an exceptional stay. Beautifully decorated, relaxing atmosphere, and plentiful amenities. The F and 7 train are in walking distance. The staff was welcoming and accommodating to all our needs and wants. The beds were comfortable and the water pressure was great. There is a snack bar for late night munchies.

2018-10-10Please do not stay here. Me and my friend (both 25 year old girls) stayed here for a week and had a horrible experience. The connection to the city is alright, but the neighborhood is very unsafe and scary, especially at night. The hotel was sold to us as a hostel, but provided nothing of the sorts, not even breakfast. The WiFi was terrible and almost never worked in our room. Only half of the power outlets worked in our room and the bathroom door didnt lock (we were in a shared room with two other girls). There was extremely noise construction outside every day. The rooms are pretty small for four people and are really four walls with a concrete ceiling. During our stay, even police has visited the hotel because of a disagreement between staff and visitor. Most importantly, we are still waiting for our $100 deposit back two months later. Unbelievable. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this hotel.
