2022-05-17I recently visited their library to prepare for an upcoming German exam. Their entire staff was very helpful. They even provided me with some free materials to study for my exam! The library is full of useful materials for learners of German as a second langauge. If you are in NYC and learning German, I highly recommend that you visit here!

2022-04-094/8/22 The Girls view of a German movie about the journey of women through the description and impressions of the paintings and artwork by young girls. Q & A and reception afterwards.

2019-09-28The Goethe Institute is a truly magnetic place where one can learn German, German literature, and German contemporary culture in general. Tucked away on Irving Place near Union Square, it offers a spacious library on the ground floor, and airy classrooms on the 4th floor. It’s best to join as a student or member in some form. I love this Institute. It is a haven for anyone interested in the European intellectual life and life style.

2020-06-07They dont really teach. Rather, they make you utilize the language immediately, and you self-teach as you stumble. This is great for extroverts, but terrible if youre an introvert. Additionally, there are a lot of concepts in grammar that are worth teaching and are important to build intuition quicker. I depended 80% of my actual learning through language forums and learned why certain things worked the way they did. Their courses are good for finding partners to talk to, but its absolutely not worth their price.

2019-10-09Great folks to work with, but they need better to organize On-Line courses, getting them in line with course titles and with their technical capacities. The initial meeting times for on-line conferences for participants in a speaking fluency course designed specifically for teachers were all at times when any full-time teacher in North America would be at work. The server for their on-line courses was down on two separate occasions I had set aside to get work done. Both times, they published a message for participants to return later. Very inconvenient and a real impediment to course work.
