My issue is redundancy.I live at the Rockaway location and have had no real issues since I moved in 7 years ago and love it there. After changing cars, the garage parking access sticker was damaged and I cant get it replaced unless I come into the office to sign for it. I would understand if I was getting it for the first time, but I have had it for 5 years already. My girlfriend cant sign for it even though shes on the lease and has her own access key fob to everything in the complex since day one, including the gym.And about that key fob, they just changed it and many people are having issues with it which I understand because its a new system. But now I dont have access to that same garage and neither does my daughter, why was the information copied to the new system because Ive already been to the office about it. The office hours are 9-5 and no more late days. This is Far Rockaway and unless you work nearby or take time off you will never make it. This is a working class community complex, even the DMV has a late day. Not happy.
Maple Gardens is a great place to live, you have respectful neighbors and best of all is the onsite facilities, like a laundromat in the basement of your complex, an onsite grocery store and parking for all, also the Maintenance Department is top notch, and the leasing office is true professionals at there job.
I applied for an apartment listed on their site and they ran my credit, and took the apartment off the site. If the apartment is not available why run my credit? Then my application had a range of prices. When I clearly applied for a specific apartment with a specific price. Fake advertisement. Not worth it.
Goldfarb property have the best luxury apartments, The leasing office is handles their client very well and always ready to assist . The maintenance team is always at your service . Apartments and buildings are well maintain. Very quiet environment. When you looking for comfort and peace of mind then their properties are what you need .
I am throughly disgusted with goldfarb properties and their new rochelle office. I moved into this dump 6 yrs ago and regretted it ever since. Do not waste your time, money, or sanity if you are thinking about moving into one of their units. When I moved in the first month the rent was higher than advertised and what was agreed in the lease due to elevator installation, which occured months before I moved in. When I tried to fight the increase I was told that it is within the rights of the property owner to adjust the price as they see fit and there was nothing I can do about it. Since then it has been hellish living in their units. Just to keep it short I will only mention the windows that were never fixed (freezing in the winter in the second bedroom), constant plumbing issues that seem to never end ( forgetabout black mold, there was a mushroom that formed in the ceiling from the moisture that is coming from the pipe work), I never had my fridge and stove and microwave work properly together at any given time, mice and roaches through out the buildings, we only just got a laundry room 2 yrs ago although it was included as an amenity, etc. And they love to take to you to court and bully you with litiagion. I feel sorry for my maintenance men that work round the clock to keep this dump running. If you are planning to move in to one of their units donot bother. The price is a lie and they do not care so long as the rent is paid.
Update: Not only did Goldfarb Properties refuse to budge on the 73.6% net effective increase in rent, but they also refused an extension of the current lease by a couple of months. They claimed there was nothing they could do about the rent increase. There is always something that can be done. Spoke to neighbors in surrounding buildings - while rents for new leases/new tenants are crazy high, no one was subjected to such a ridiculous increase. Most people had an increase of a couple of hundred dollars and everyone is SHOCKED at a $1650 increase. Its just mean and wrong. Sad to say Goldfarb Properties has no care for its tenants, and even sadder that they refuse to work something out with tenants who helped keep this city afloat at its worst. The rental market would not be back if not for front-line workers who fought this pandemic - shame on Goldfarb properties for kicking my family out.I am an ICU nurse at New York Presbyterian Hospital in NYC. I often crash at my brothers apartment in NYC at 330 West 58th St so that its easier for me to get to work. Its a great building but they recently went up on rent by 60% - raising it from 2800 to 4500 and leaving no room to negotiate. My brother is the founder of a startup that fights child hunger in NYC and I am an ICU nurse that worked the front line of the pandemic. This last year and a half was not easy for either of us both professionally and financially, and I am in shock that the rent was increased by that much. It seems as though Goldfarb Properties has zero care for tenant retention with an exorbitant increase in rent like that - my brother has lived in NYC for over 20 years and has also never witnessed anything like this. It was a great year for them living there and great for me as a front line worker to make my commute and year easier --- but what a horrible note to end on. If theres any room for discussion, we would love to have a chat. If not, Im sad to say that I would never recommend living in a property that has no care for tenant retention.
Echoing all of my sisters sentiments below in her review. Its actually a 73.6% increase in our net effective rent and its extremely disheartening. Emailed the leasing and customer service team on couple days ago and still waiting for a response. We hope that Goldfarb properties will be able to work things out with us so that we can continue living here.
The operations team at Goldfarb has been very responsive and helpful with any issues that have arisen since I have been a tenant. Supers are always available if something comes up. They are also working on many upgrades in the complex. They have not only been renovating all apartment units, but the exterior aesthetics such as all new landscaping and re-paving all parking lots.
This past weekend it was cold, and I knew that most of the cold air was coming from the portable air conditioner in my apartment. There was a pipe underneath my window where the portable air conditioners hose goes into. I called on Monday, January 10th, 2022, and told the maintenance person my concerns. They told me they can fix it and will send some over to speak with me. At about 1:30 pm a contractor came over and looked at the pipe and stated that he will send some to cut the pipe and put a cap over the hole, so I wont continue to be cold. The worker came at 8:30 in the morning, Tuesday, January 11, 2022. Cut the pipe and put the cap on the hole, showed me how to use it and now I am happy. They are the best Goldfarb Properties. See before and after pictures below. Now I dont have that eye saw pipe sticking out of the wall under my window and I can put the portable air conditioner in the closet. Now the wall looks a lot better, and I am not cold anymore.
This company is amazing I originally was working with J but she had left so I was switched over to Katie who was extremely professional polite and actually listens what you have to say when I got to 1 of the buildings to get my key fob the key at the front desk couldnt find it so I had called Katie and she sent a super up to program 1 for me and made sure she did everything in her power I got the fob and keys today the super at my building was also very friendly and respectful
Since day one of searching for a convenient location at one of the Goldfarb properties to move-in day, the whole experience has been great. Everyone is super helpful and friendly. They always pick up at their administrative offices and maintenance office. I requested a service at my apartment and Jose our building manager was there within an hour. Front desk crew is awesome! They are educated and polite. They receive all of my packages and promptly notify me. Worth every penny!
I’ve had a few maintenance issues in the 40+ years that I have been living here and I never had to wait to have my issues addressed. The Property is always kept clean and neat. The people that I have been involved with as far as painters , The super, and anyone else that works at this property have always been professional and courteous.
The maintenance staff was responded quickly after I submitted the request. The process is very user friendly. The maintenance guy was professional and friendly. He ask again what was the issue and he repaired it expeditiously. The quick responds to service calls, security in Maple Gardens is one of the Good quality and perks for living here for 8 years!
Overall I am impressed that Goldfarb Properties has provided a platform for its tenants to learn about financial freedom. I hope that this platform of opportunities are afforded to the tenants in the forthcoming months for continued learning and possibly other ventures that may come about. My experience living in my apartment has been a good experience for the most part. I believe that housing is affordable and the maintenance upkeep on the property is great. I am glad to be a part of the Goldfarb Property community.
Although still new to Wavecrest or Goldfarb Properties, so far Im very impressed with this gated community. The landscaping is groomed, my building in quiet and clean, when reporting an issue, the response time is quick and thoroughly handled. My only complaint would be the receptionist (not sure if theres more than one), but at times it appears shes not very happy and she talks more than she wants to listen.
I discussed my income and credit with a realtor and after my application being viewed for 1 hour with no calls or questions I was denied because of income. Seems like this property manager is discriminatory because I had sufficient income when we first discussed the apartment. I was requested to provide numerous documents to prove my income for nothing. Don’t waste your time or give them all your information.
Living in a Goldfarb building is amazing! The team is incredibly responsive and the aesthetics of their properties are perfect because they are constantly cleaning/ doing upkeep. I live in one of their Pelham buildings and have no complaints. Highly recommend renting from them.
The neighborhood is great and quiet. The apartments are nice but pricy. Repairs done are always temporary quick fixes. It’s always a hustle trying to get in touch with management. Management schedules repairs at inconvenient hours and are not considerate of how it affects tenants.
From looking at an apartment to the moving-in process, its seamless. The management office is professional and attentive. The maintenance department is professional, reliable, and on-time for scheduled work orders. The maintenance staff is also friendly and helpful. The properties are clean and follow COVID regulations. I would definitely recommend Goldfarb Properties.
On 9/15/2021 I saw a brand new listing on streeteasy.com for a unit located in the Bronx. Iimmediately reached out to the agent via email and viewed the apartment that same evening.Reached back out to agent via email advising I want the unit which I was advised to fill the application out on Goldfarb Properties website.Application completed and fees all paid on 9/15/2021.On 9/17/2021 I received an email from Goldfarb Properties advising application was received and what documents to provide. I uploaded all required documents on behalf of my husband and myself and sent an email confirming what was provided and if any additional information is needed. On 9/18/ 2021 After realizing Ive been submitting very sensitive information via website and email, I kindly asked via email if an actual person can give me a call as I tried reaching out via telephone to no avail. Needless to say a gentleman called and was short patience and very rude.On 9/22/2021 I was advised to submit pdf copies of w-2 and paycheck as well as most recent statements from our joint savings account. Savings account statements are provided quarterly and not monthly from our Credit Union therefore June is the last statement available yet shows we have more than enough funds to cover 1st months rent and security. I even forward an email sent to me from a service representative from our Credit Union advising statements are quarterly.9/25/2021 I sent an email following up on all documents provided an email from service representative and inquiring once again if the apartment is still available. An email then followed stating once Statement is provided it takes 7 days for a decision to be made not including weekends. Here it is today, October 4th and I am still awaiting a response to an inquiry I sent 3 days ago regarding if the unit is still available. Guess what, NO RESPONSE!!!!!Im not sure if this Pandemic plays a part but Ive never experienced such a runaround with applying for an apartment. This Properties management company can do a whole lot better with communication and professionalism!!!!!
Ive been living at a Goldfarb property in Westchester for 2 1/2 years. I have only good things to say. The property is well-maintained and the public areas clean. Management communicates well via email and visual announcements throughout the building. They are responsive to my emails and service requests. They also try to engage with the tenants through social media and community projects. I recently attended their virtual Financial Wellness Workshop and learned a lot from the class. Kudos to the Goldfarb Team for all you do!
Moving here in 2013 gave me a chance to hav a place of my own once again. After 16 yrs. of military service, I had to move north to find work. After living in New York for a while and falling on hard times, it took some time after moving to NJ to find a job in 2008. But Ive been working since then. I started out in a studio apartment at Maple Gardens. I moved into a one bedroom in 2020 needing more space to have the rooms separated and to set up my home recording studio for school purposes. Though there are still some things that I need to do to make it a complete home, this have been to place for me since 2013. I really enjoy having a secure living space, and that is Maple Gardens.
I have lived here almost 2yrs and I absolutely love it! So clean, so well maintained, quiet, peaceful and safe! Just moved into a 2br direct oceanfront, fully renovated with stunning views of the ocean from every widow’ high end upgrades! Management, maintenance and security all great! This apartment would cost double in Long Beach! Love it!
My wife and I applied for an apartment at the Woodycrest location last year, filled out all the info, and expressed a huge amount of interest. It took management 2 months to give an answer and thats because we called once or twice a week. Then they claimed we needed a guarantor although they couldnt give us a reason why. Im assuming because we are young and have no renters history but we both make well over the required amount. We are still waiting for an answer. Be careful applying here they just take ya money and leave you hanging.
I lived in the 330 W58th Street tower for 2 years and my experience in the building was fabulous. The only reason I decided to move this year was because I was upgrading to a 2 bedroom apartment with a balcony on a higher floor and unfortunately none were available in my current Goldfarb property. I would definitely be willing to look at other Goldfarb properties in the future.Regards,Danny M.
Very unprofessional service from this agency. My partner and I have applied to two of their listings. First one we got denied and then we had no way of contacting them in order to find out more information as to why we got denied and in order to contact them I have to wait 60 days from the date I received the denial letter. The second apartment we applied to also consisted of a fee each, I just so happen to look into my Goldfarb account and it says my application for the second apartment was cancelled. I received no email or notice that my application was canceled. I look at Street Easy and Zillow and notice that the rent price for this unit actually went up but again no one told me anything or got in contact with me in regards to my application. That being said our application was canceled and there was no refund on the application fee even though they canceled it from their end. They say someone will reach out to you and they never do. The phone number posted on their website is also an automated message that tells you to go to their website because all of the answers are there, which is a lie and then they hang up on you.
I am amazed how well groomed Wavecrest Far Rockaway keeps the properties landscape, and buildings clean. The office, security, and maintenance team are awesome. They have always been professional and very responsive to my service request. My apartment is beautiful and very spacious, its a family-oriented community, and has available parking for residents only. I have recommended Wavecrest Far Rockaway to my family and friends.
I really enjoy the service at 1700 Grand Concourse. The building is always clean and maintenance does an excellent job. You call and they’re at your apartment within the hour. Only complaint with this building is the laundromat dryers are to expensive. Unfortunately I think I’m going to have to move because my apartment is to small and I want to stay in 1700 or 1770 but I can’t afford the rent. I’m very upset and sad because I don’t want to move.
If I could give Goldfarb Properties a rating lower than one star, I would. These people will take your $20 application fee, and then pull a disappearing act for days, sometimes for weeks. They DO NOT respond to emails or calls promptly. Seriously, good luck trying to get an actual human on the phone. These people need to be investigated for abusive and unethical practices. There are HONEST landlords that actually want to rent apartments, not hoard fees, and Goldfarb prop. isnt one of them
DO NOT trust Goldfarb Properties. They have low rated stars for a reason and show no concern for the many inconveniences they WILL cause once you become a tenant. . Heres several reasons why youll be wasting your money:- 930 Ogden Avenue and 939 Woodycrest tenants(for example) are expected to live through nonstop construction Monday - Saturday. Goldfarb have consistently neglected to give tenants a heads up before starting construction right next to their apartments. The noise is unbearable and will NOT accommodate you for these inconveniences in any way(reduce rent, allow you to transfer, etc..). They just offer empty apologies and expect you to still pay rent on time.- This makes it a horrible place to work from home during the pandemic, or raise a family as my infant is frequently startled out of her sleep because of jackhammers. Furthermore, theyre starting construction on yet another apartment directly above mine this upcoming Monday.- They will not let you out of lease even when they breach the warrant of habitability clause. So expect to go to court even if its clearly their fault.- The construction has caused several infestation issues.- There are constant heat and water shut offs that last the whole day in the middle of winter. So far there have been 19 disruptions since November 2020, with the last heat interruption scheduled on 2/3/21. Both heat and water are off for hours so youll have to boil your water if you need to bathe.- The gym is nice, but no one is enforced to wear masks, so they dont. And it costs $50/mo per person for a membership.- There have been several situations where drug addicts have wandered the building and smoked in the hallways.- Several apartments were burglarized on New Years and the SuperIntendent covered it up and didnt notify the company. We had to beg for months for a door that works.- Goldfarb raised my rent $200 within one year. If given the chance,(only thanks to Cuomos bill, that they cant anymore) theyll do it again.- The appliances look nice but are cheap and fall apart quickly. For example, my sink rusted within the first month of living here. So be mindful of your security deposit. Many people havent gotten theirs back.- And after all of these inconveniences, Goldfarb was unwilling to work with us and only offered for us to move into another apartment but we would have to pay the difference in rent(hundreds of dollars extra per month). Christopher Miller is one of the managers of the leasing department and will do absolutely nothing to help you. He only apologizes for his paper-trail.DO NOT MOVE HERE. If I could rate this place a 0 out of 5, I would.
Landscaping for Wavecrest Gardens is very well maintained (nice view to look at); maintenance responds quickly if any issues; buildings are clean. Every now and then - but thankfully not often - extra cleaning attention is needed in the basement (where the laundry room, recyclables bins, bins for large garbage bags and some additional exits are). It’s not perfect (no place is), but it’s not a dump either. It’s very nice; affordable (compared to out of control high rents elsewhere). I’ve been living at Wavecrest Gardens for 5 years and am satisfied for the most part. Love the 24 hour Security on the property. Also love that if I can’t change my light bulbs in the ceiling (I’m 59 years old with arthritis and bad knees), I can put in a maintenance request & it’s quickly done for me. As long as Wavecrest Gardens continues to look out for it’s good tenants, I am content/happy living here.
Thanks for the prompt attention yesterday. In the future Ill only enter one request at a time, since I had entered the problem of the noisy external fan on the refrigerator with another request and it was not taken care of.When I got home last night the ice trays were still not making ice cubes fully firm. We turned the temperature to the coldest and this morning the ice cubes were firm. Ill see what the situation is tonight. I will have to throw out frozen items that were spoiled over the 48 hour period last weekend.Thank you.
Trevor & his Team are excellent to work with! They are extremely organized, responsive & the upkeep at their properties is immaculate. Wether you’re looking for a beachfront place to live, more of a city feel throughout the boroughs or considering relocating into Westchester county, I would highly recommend Goldfarb as your number 1 choice. I’ve worked with many different companies who are similar to Goldfarb, but none of them can even come close to the value and professionalism Goldfarb brings to the table.
I have been a tenant with Goldfarb Properties for almost 20 years. This is the first time I have ever read any reviews pertaining to my landlord and their management team. Everyone has a different experience but mine has been great. My super Adriano and his team Vinny and Jose are the best. My building is always clean. Garbage is picked up daily even over the holidays. Repairs are completed within 24 hours. They are attentive and go over any beyond to resolve repair issues. As far as a management team they are heros to me. I have gone through some serious health and financial issues during periods of my tenancy and had it not been for the understanding and kindness of Goldfarb Properties I would be sleeping in the street. You cant please everyone. I find that most of these negative reviews are just over the top negative.
I had two issues in my apartment. My kitchen sink was leaking and my toilet in the bathroom was leaking as well. Instead of submitting a ticket, I called maintenance immediately to fix the issue. They came within 30 minutes and was able to fix the problem on the same day. Thank you.
A well manicured landscape with a wide variety of foliage just compliments the vintage property located right on the beach. The private court yards with fountains, play grounds and a gym allows residents to enjoy quality time without the hassle of traveling. Conveniently a shopping center is located right on the property, which makes shopping a pleasure, especially when you forget an item or two. Coming home to private parking is so relaxing, knowing that you will always have a space, indoors or outdoors. The staff is always present, helpful and courteous. And the 24 hour security, that actually patrols the property 24 hours puts your mind at ease for you and your family. This is one of the best properties that I have had the pleasure to reside in the last 55+ years. 😎👍👍👍👍👍
Nothing is luxurious about their properties, especially not the ones in the Bronx. They use cheap paint and cabinets...there’s always a “boiler or plumbing issue/repair” every other week that tend to shut down water and heat (so good luck in the winter time). I agree with a previous person who stated that they are dismissive and condescending. They only care about $$$$$ not so much the lively hood of others. You would think that during covid they would show some concern for people but nope. They’ll rather give you an option to pay with credit cards. I’m not asking for help to pay this expensive rent all I’m asking is to stop the ongoing projects of new apartments so I can work from home quietly and pay your stink ol rent. But they make it so difficult to do that when construction to old properties (3-4 at a time) seem to be their priority. One time they even worked until 8pm (which should be illegal but I guess hiring individuals who are unable to speak up makes it okay for them to that smh)Again, they do not care and only care about the money. Even if you want to get out the lease or ask for them to work with you, they will not let you. They would rather give you an option to move into another apartment (that apartment within the building or in another location is often twice as much) which defeats the point. The only good thing about the building is their gym, and that still is a problem because no one is enforcing Covid rules despite their papers on the walls. People are in there without a mask and security himself does not say anything because of course security is not keeping his mask on. Everything about this company is a joke!! Maintenance workers would hide in laundry room in the basement and focus on one side of the building getting drunk and playing on her phone and in previous times in the past landlord/staff would steal from tenants. Please!!! Do not do business with these shady people who think they can outsmart some tenants with nonchalant emails. You will not be able to live comfortably in the comfort of the home you’re paying during COVID.And I’m sure people over at fifth Ave are not dealing with water and heater shut offs every other week. Do better! People pay too much and deal with too much to get treated this way.
Ive applied for Goldfarb properties at least 3-4 times now. Once, I had gotten an apartment, but did not follow up. After, Ive applied for two other apartments and was denied and had my application cancelled. STOP taking my 20 if you are going to cancel my application. Also, when I visited one of your Bronx buildings, I followed your instructions, but still, no one ever came out to greet me and show me the apartment. What a waste of time and energy. F goldfarb. Im done trying to give you people my money.
I have been a tenant for nearly five years. No complaints about my building! Anything i have requested has been attended to in a timely manner. Recently reached out to management regarding an unpleasant situation i was dealing with in my apartment.. to make the long story short; in a matter of two weeks I was granted a transfer to a better living situation, new unit, new building.. I am so grateful and happy for the opportunity especially during the times we are all experiencing. (Covid19). Satisfying to know how reliable and understanding my leasing department is. Thank you Goldfarb.-happy tenant
The Financial Wellness Seminars are a true eye opener. I would recommend anyone to experience just one session and you would be financially changed. My basic understanding is to write your goals, say your goals, put them into existence, actively act towards your goals and results will happen. I thank Goldfarb for this experience and all involved.
I am having a HORRIBLE experience at Harbor House in New Rochelle, NY. There has been unbearable noise from construction going on in the apartment above me for months now and it is often performed outside of the permitted hours. I never got notified by management about this construction and I tried countless times to reach out to them and left several messages and no one has gotten back to me ever. The noise is severely affecting my quality of life and honestly my mental health as well. Based on on this I would not recommend Goldfarb properties and plan on moving out.
If you want to be ignored on your inquiries and love getting nickel and dime’d on your security deposit then this is the company for you.Lived in Park Towers South for 2 years and would not recommend. The super high rent they charge comes with 0 customer service and no responses from any emails. These properties are so poorly managed it’s hard to even get any solution. When you finally do get in contact with someone they send you to another department and the other department sends you back in an infinite loop.During a pandemic they decided it was fitting to raise rent by nearly 200 dollars. During move out we patched all the walls and they still deducted “patching” from the security deposit even though it was done by us.The lease specifically stated not to paint but we were charged on the security deposit for cleaning and painting. We had a free trial gym membership that turned into 18 months of charges even though email exchanges confirmed that there would be refunds and cancellations.
330 W. 58th So the place is nice, But there is ALWAYS NON STOP CONSTRUCTION NOISE. If you work from home and many of us do because of covid, its next to impossible. They are renovating so many apartments in this building which is nice, but not nice when you live here and have no peace during the day. First it was our floor, now its above us and I think its worse. They are nice, and accomodating, but between the construction in the building and across the street at the old Time Warner building, its not peaceful.
I enjoyed and appreciated all that was said during the Financial Wellness Workshop with Katherine Dean. The references and tips were spot on. Looking forward to applying some of the tips especially getting my accounts in order so I can clearly see what am working with. Loved it, it made so much sense hearing it out loud.
I lived in the Far Rockaway, NY apartments and currently live in Goldfarbs Irvington, NJ apartment building. Maintenance is always easy to get a hold of and schedule work. The apartments are affordable compared to comparable places. They are also working on creating community programs which provides a nice opportunity to get to know your neighbors.
Would give them 0 stars if I could. They decided during a pandemic when everyone is supposed to be at home would be a great time to renovate every vacant apartment. The construction noise is unbearable especially if you need to be on a call. They have promised to give ya office spaces to escape the noise but they’ve been promising that for weeks and still nothing. I’ve been trying to get in touch with management and I can tell the are ignoring me on purpose because they don’t want to deal with this issue.
Overall I have had a great living experience over the years at Goldfarb properties. I enjoy the convenient location as town/train is a literally a 15min walk up the hill and the area is well kept with scenic views of the harbor. The staff are friendly and always willing to assist you. Jill, the maintenance supervisor, is one of the staff members that stand out. She is always a joy, ready and willing to help when in a jam (which is greatly appreciated!) and over all a well rounded individual. She is professional and gets things done efficiently which is definitely a bonus! Will always recommend her.
For an agency that has a property in a not so great area in the Bronx (Bronxite here so I know), to not only be unavailable in person or through phone/email during a walk in tour for questions about the listing (mind you we were let in by another tenant not even the agency because they never answered even though we scheduled a walk through), but to also have a high standard of criteria to be approved in a neighborhood like that is absolutely ridiculous. Not to mention their denial letter made zero sense because we definitely meet all requirements by a long shot and to dispute it, its not even through them which is very sketchy, just taking your money and all your private information. They charge an application fee and insist on filling out the application online without even discussing anything about the property before hand, I don’t know any other agency that does that, but the lack of communication and unprofessionalism, the run around and loop of what seems to be automated emails that lead to a phone number that does not work and goes straight to voicemail every time during business hours is truly appalling. Do your jobs correctly because apparently based on the reviews, your business is failing.
Ive been living at the Bronx location for over a year and I enjoy it. I agree with most people, most times that I call goldfarb I get a rude person with a nasty attitude. I especially remember this when I was looking for a place to live. The super in my building is very helpful from day one I remember I had a leak from the apartment above me and he had a quick response. The building is surprisingly quiet. I never have to complain about noise, the building has great heat also. The maintenance department is flexible too. I work 9-5 Monday through Friday so if I need anything fixed it would have to be on a Saturday and I never had any problems with this . I also like having laundry in the building too.
If you have a rental assistance voucher that covers all of the rent you may still be denied. Last year, 2019 I spoke with someone via telephone and I was told that they dont accept vouchers. So recently, as of August 2020 I decided to inquire about them again because Im still searching for apartments. I looked on their website and I was glad to see that they do take vouchers. Their website says that if you have a housing voucher that covers 100% of your monthly rent there is no income or credit requirement. So I decided that I would apply. I was interested in Wavecrest gardens in Rockaway. I paid 20 dollars for an application because I truly believed that I had a fair and honest chance of possibly getting an apartment here.On my online application the rental price range for studios, 1 and 2 bedrooms were between $1016-$2449. With studios being the lowest price and 2 bedrooms being the highest. I was interested in getting whatever I could possibly afford which would have been a studio or the lowest priced 1 bedroom which was listed at $1,557. My rental assistance voucher is currently $1,580. Even though they say that credit and income is not required if your voucher covers all of the rent, they emailed me saying that my application was denied because of my credit and that my rent voucher is insufficient. I respectfully emailed them back to clarify if the information on their website is accurate because based on that, my application should not have been denied. They never responded.I called them after this to act as if I was inquiring about rent prices and to see what they would say when I asked them over the phone, this time around, if they take rent vouchers. They confirmed that the rent prices for a studio and 1 bedroom were the same as listed online. When I asked if they take vouchers they said yes. But being that they already denied me, I knew that this wasnt true. They have to say this because source of income discrimination is illegal and another reason is because they can get people to still pay for a 20 dollar application knowing that they have no real intention of taking their vouchers.I honestly feel duped and I know that I would have not applied and paid for this nonrefundable application if I knew that they were going to do this. They basically lied and clearly dont want to accept vouchers. Even their policy for vouchers that wont cover all of the rent is ridiculous as well. It says that if your voucher does not cover all of the rent you have to make 40 times your portion of the rent. Why would that be possible for someone who has a rental assistance voucher. So I reached out to an agency in regards to rent disrcimination and explained what happened. Thats when they alleged that they cant get involved with what happened to me because Goldfarbs Properties is currently already in a litigation over their voucher policys in the New York State Supreme Court and a ruling has not yet been made. If I would have known this from the beginning I would have never filled out an application with a messy company like this. So if you have a rental assistance voucher good luck and hopefully you have a better experience in dealing with them, however I would save my 20 dollars and go with a property that has more integrity and will actually take vouchers and not pretend to take vouchers.
So, tenants aren’t allowed access to a back door. I have health issues, have asked and nothing. Meanwhile the family of the super has access. They all come through the back door. Ah! And when the weather gets nice they even sit in the back. Sometimes I hear kids running in the hallways! But the tenants can’t huh. Unfairness. We all pay HIGH rent!!
If there is anything less than a 0 or less, I will be very happy to give them that as their rating. The worst management I have ever encountered. Their staff are rude and very impolite. They always try to make you feel like they are doing you a favour by tending to you when you need to call their maintenance or rental office for anything. If you ever need a place to rent, please keep your money and stay far away from any of their properties especially the one in Irvington NJ. This is the worst place I have ever lived in USA.I would rather advise anyone to go find a place to squat rather than rent an apartment with them !!!TERRIBLE PLACE TO LIVE !!!!!!!!
STAY AWAY AT ALL COST!!!! If I could give Goldfarb Zero Stars I definitely would. I have been living in their Bronx location for quite some time and can say without a doubt that all these 5 stars reviews are bought. The only prompt responses I ever received from these ppl has been before signing the original lease. Lets begin with Move in day, We walked into an apartment that had not been finished (windows that couldnt close, bathroom sink that was not connected to any water) and to top it off the Super wasnt even aware that we were moving in that day or that we had even received keys. During week one we had to get a replacement fridge not once but twice since all they give you are horrible worn down appliances. We signed a Lease for one amount and then at renewal were frauded into having to sign a new lease 200$ higher than the previous one even though the apartment is rent controlled ( when questioned we were told we had been paying a discounted amount and that at renewal we had to either sign for the Market rate amount or leave) Luckily NYC caught on to this skeem and has now passed laws prohibiting this practice. In the span of 4 years this building has gone through 4 different Superintendents, one was actually let go for stealing!!!! At some point management changed the policy on doormats and instead of letting tenants know they had the Superintendent collect all mats and throw them out. Door decorations (Wreaths, Christmas decor) is not allowed at all whatsoever so save yourself the money since the same day you will be left a note on your door requesting for it to be taken down. Repairs are rarely ever done and to get anything fixed you literally have ti fight tooth and nail to get them to send someone over and be prepared to take at least 3 days off for repairs since they tell you they will there one day but never show up and again your given the same story about someone coming to make repairs the following day. Luxury is far from what they offer. STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS
I am a current tenant in the Bronx and so far the experience has been awful. When I moved in, the gas was not connected yet and neither was central air. They were very demanding about when we should be home to get central air installed with no flexibility whatsoever. Strike 1. You literally have to make friends with maintenance person to get anything done. It is hard to get in contact with anyone at Goldfarb and they rarely return phone calls...strike 2. I renewed my lease with a certain price for the parking garage and a month after lease was renewed, they hiked up the price of parking, which was not on the lease agreement. Now I am trying to get out of the garage and no one is returning my call with inquiries about parking...strike 3. The properties are nice and well kept, but how management does business is crooked. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME RENTING WITH THIS PLACE!!!
I moved here in 2018 legally married with my husband, because I had an issue with my credit report changing my name, they excluded me from the lease. Once everything was straightened out I signed a lease and was told I had to wait for the corporate office to send the lease with my name on it. A year later I have not received the lease. Everytime I ask they say they will look into it . As a married couple I shouldnt ever been excluded from the lease.
This is a TERRIBLE property management company. The service is terrible and their business team is shady. They often overcharge for move outs for normal wear and tear. The buildings main facilities are poorly maintained. Just an overall terrible experience. Im surprised no one has reported them to the FTC.
I highly recommend you to stay away from this company .. They advertise the apartments lower than the actual rent . They pull you in , make you fill out the online application any pay the un-refundable fee.So you start dreaming that you will get that apartment like many others at the same time ..Even you have the best credit you have a low chance getting the apartment ..But they are happy they took your money without doing nothing and giving hopes to so many people at the same time ..So stay away...
DO NOT MOVE HERE! It will be the worst decision of your life. The properties are invested with ROACHES, MICE, and BEDBUGS. You will find them (roaches and mice) in your closets, beds, furniture, etc. when you speak to them about it, they try to find ways to force you out the property. Save yourself time and money and go somewhere else. They compensate tenants to write positive reviews, so don’t be fooled by the 5 stars. This place is disgusting, unprofessional, and needs to be shut down immediately.
This is the worst building management company that I’ve encountered. They can’t even organize themselves for an open house. Their building agents were nowhere to be found and I had to call and ask where they were...only to find out that their was a “miscommunication” and they did not have the keys to the apartment that was listed for the open house.Because the building clearly made a mistake, I also asked to kindly schedule to see the apartment another time, to which they told me no - so they were not even accommodating when it was clear they made a mistake.Horrible experience. They are completely disorganized, rude and condescending.
Amazing experience leasing and living here. My superintendent, Zeni is absolutely phenomenal. He is always available and him and Cesar care for the building so well. I am still in shock to find a place like this, as I was very discouraged when originally looking at housing when moving to NY. The application process was a bit intimidating at first, but Jackie from the office was incredibly kind, patient and responsive to all questions throughout.
Reasonable security, and overly-friendly staff who might unintentionally cross privacy boundaries if you frequent their office. Buildings need complete renovation, and owner will send crews in for reconstruction of adjacent apartments without notification. Poor neighborhood, extreme noise, rent is multiples of what would be expected for the quality, older apartments are un-livable, power transformer failures, poor telecommunications service. Shoreline not scenic.
Pros: Well, I am very happy to live in my app in Bronx nice view, clean building, maintenance is fast and you can negóciate with them at the end of your lease (if you have being paid punctually)Cons: Office personal don’t follow up actually when you complain about noises, even in the lease says that if you make noise on the floor you should install carpet, the isolation of the floor is poor you can hear people speaking upstairs. When you are behind in the payment instead of sending 1 or 2 letters letting you know you are past due, you receive a citation to go court, so something you could solve fast just getting the money and pay, now you have to go to the court and pay 2 month together.... no good guys
Viewed apartments in Park south tower in manhattan, interested in one apartment of the 3 Ive seen. All in building tower 330. However, that apartment was not listed in the website, but there is 10g apartment in 313. I emailed to clarify with Elise, but I have not replied any after that. Still have not receive any reply after 1 week! Not a good sign. Not professional.
Ill start off by saying that you should be weary of this companys shady business practices!I was working with a representative named Vanina. At first, everything seemed straightforward an honest. Once I had my application in and paid the fee, that all changed. We had applied for one apartment which subsequently got rented as Manhattan apartments do. We switched our application to another apartment for which we were told that we were the only applicants. After being strung along for over a week having documents requested from us, going through the credit board, ignoring our emails and phone calls, I was informed that the second apartment was rented as well. 3 DAYS PRIOR! They had still been requesting documents from us after the apartment was already rented! After finally getting through to someone at the company, they tried pawning off a significantly worse apartment to us for the same rent amount. At that point we had had enough. I got in touch with Vanina and tried to get an explanation for why we had been blindsided and that conversation just went in a loop.I warn you to not work with this company. Even if it seems that you are having a fine experience, they care not for the client and only for themselves.
Inquired several times by email regarding their building in White Plains as Im retired and had questions regarding their income requirements. They never returned my calls nor did they respond to my emails. For that, I give them 1 star only (if I could give zero I would).
This is a horrible management company, please guys! Don’t give away your money so easily, my husband and I applied for one of their apartments, besides the fact that they are super rude, they don’t keep up with the paperwork, we had to call them and email them multiple times before they told us that our application was denied... they denied our application and didn’t even email us telling us why. After we gave them our 100$ for them to review our credit, one day later they just posted on the website that our application was denied.. horrible horrible people horrible horrible management office.. save your money and don’t go to them!!!! Zero stars!
Horrible! I live in New Rochelle. I pay high rent with no amenities! I also have to live with MICE! I am constantly putting in request with maintenance yet nothing is solved I am a nervous wreck and this is now affecting my health! I will be lodging a complaint with the health department
Been living 8 years at New Rochelle, harbor House same as Goodfarb properties, past 7 months been horrible dealing with BED BUGS landlord knows the problem and doesnt take care of it. Only offers treatments to APTS that complaints about it, doesnt aware other tenants for precaution. Maintenance department is horrible!!! Higher rent to live with roaches, mices and BED BUGS! Landlord wants to keep it on the low so tenants dont move out! Building 29,33,35,43 are infested with BED BUGS!! Laundry area horrible mold around machines, highly costly too DEAD ROACHES on stairs for weeks
Horrible place to rent a apartment to, dead roaches in stairs for couple weeks, maintenance is very poor. office staff very disrespectful, while you are in the process to rent they are courteous after you rent they refused to help when you call office. Nice area but horrible people manage this properties
Horrible management with apartments with no insulation make for a very bad experience. Noise complaints go unresolved and be prepared to live with other neighbors who are on housing programs in a so called luxury building.Stay away dont waste your money here, 2400 Webb Ave Location
Not professional at all if I could give zero I would have done soThey dont respond to emailsThey take forever to review the applicationWhen I called them and they finally picked up my calls the representative was very rude he didnt give a chance to express my concerns he kept repeating wait for the management I have nothing to tell you what kind of renal office is that terrible service
IF YOU DONT WANT YOUR DEPOSIT AND PAY EXTRA ON TOP OF YOUR DEPOSIT - GO TO GOLDFRAB PROPERTIES. VERY BAD MANAGEMENT .THEY MADE UP PAY 3300 BACK AND SAYS mci ARREAS - AFTER STAYING 2 YEARS WITH RENT INCREASED IN THE SECOND YEAR BY 100 - WHEN WE VACATE THEY SAID THE STATE GIVE PERMISSION TO RAISE THE RENT BY 90$ PER ROOM SO THEY CHARGED 1400 $ EXTRA BACK TO THE LAST 2 YEARS ON TOP OF MY CONTRACT - THE KITCHEN IS SO SMALL - NOT EVEN 2 PERSONS CAN STAND THERE THEY CONSIDER THAT AS ROOM AND SAID 90$ PER MONTH FOR LAST 2 YEARS . IMAGINE THEIR GREEDINESS.
It is absolutely the worst experience I had , I would do try anything to break the lease with them , the people work there is rude and the worst people I have met , I am not from new York , I dont know if its a new York thing or its just them . if I could give them negative star , it would be negative 10
I was contacted by an agent from affordable housing. Asking $100. Application fee. Then no reply. I then paid the application and credit check fee on goldfarb website. Cant get a live person. A general email keeps being sent to me, and nobody ever answers the phone. I need a live person, and I need to know my application status.

2022-06-16I am a new tenant at Maple gardens as of June 2022. My new studio apartment has a renovated bathroom, lots of natural light from the three windows and double door closet that is spacious for a single person. I updated the shower fixture and maintenance was very helpful by installing it, patching up the wall and adding fresh paint. My request was handled within a wk from placing the order. Thank you!

2022-01-20I love the image of the properties don’t get me wrong! However I’ve submitted all documents needed and it’s like it’s no way for me to get in contact with the property manager.I did my background check paid my application fee… I just would like to be in a new home. And I qualify for everything they need. I would atleast feel a lot better if I can talk to someone so I don’t feel like it was $20 down the drain for no reason.Beautiful idea but I would love to get the experience of living there.

2022-05-06I feel very safe and comfortable residing here at Goldfarb Properties. I dont have to worry about any uninvited guest just popping up on foot or in his/her vehicle security here at Goldfarb property DO their job.!!I had a small issue in my apartment, so I contacted the maintenance department . I didnt have to wait two or three days later !! The issue was taken care of the very same day a half hour later .I would have sold my self short if I had listen to the negative reviews I read online before moving into Goldfarb properties . The office staff are very professional and respectful I have no complaints at all !!!!!!!GOLDFARB PROPERTIES CONTINUE DOING WHAT YOUR DOING !!

2022-05-25My wife and I have been in the Essex County location for almost 2 years now. I cannot recall one time when we requested help and it was not rendered! Maintenance is amazing!Security is great also but I dont appreciate them calling my phone and knocking on my door at 2am.We do light cleaning DAILY and deep clean once a week--WHERE ARE THE ROACHES COMING FROM?? We really like the complex and really appreciate the service we receive but LORD, the buildings are FILLED with unwanted pests sneaking in our apartment.

2022-04-30Ive been living in the Essex county property for almost 4yrs now.And since the day I moved in I have had problems with a leak in my apartment from the roof. However, since sept of last year I have complained at least once a month of the consistent leak & damage occurring everytime it rains. And the only thing they offer is to paint over the water damage. With no solution on when the roof will be repaired.I have emailed the company, received no response. I have been multiple times to the maintenance office as well as the rental office to make complaints. With no satisfaction. So at this point I think I need a lawyer. So DO NOT COME HERE! Pictures are pretty, they will show you the best apartment. But soon you will find your self unhappy . With them looking to collect their rent money & in my case still living in the water

2022-02-23Maple Gardens has a top notch maintenance department. They recently replaced the front door since the previous one was defective. I feel much safer! Thanks for your services

2022-05-22I usually interact with some of the staff at the Maple Garden location and have had very bad experiences, not going to mention the names, but If you should ever need friendly and courteous service, please ask for Jonathan. He is the absolute best. Mr. Joe M. The building manager is understanding, and I call him a sour patch.. but he’s great as well.

2022-03-25The process for applying is really owful,They only respond to emails when they want to. No one never picks up the phone. I inquired about an apartment, to the time to go see it, I then emailed them back to say I wanted to proceed. They sent me a link to the application. I filled it out only to be told the apartment was gone. I am sure they knew that apartment was about to be filled. So I began to look at other properties going back in forth with emails because the person who is responding Emily never answer all the question at one time. I had a question about applying for multiple places no one ever got back to me. So I went ahead and spent the money for each place. Only to have one application to be denied because the apartment was taken. When asked about the refund no reply. The sad thing about this I have a program that would pay the whole entire rent including the security deposit. Yet in all I still cant get the popper help need.

2022-04-30Not very customer friendly. I submitted my application for a 1 bedroom apartment. However. They contacted me for the first time after two weeks, to tell me that my application was denied. They could have communicated this before having me scanning and uploading all those documents.POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.

2022-04-20Me and my wife have had the worst experience trying to rent an apartment. Completely felt like we were doing their job, calling them every other day so we can submit an application. There was 0 communication from their part the whole time, the lady who picked the phone tried to blame it on us when they couldn’t open a file, which we sent multiple times, all this so in the last call we had with them not only they said the same thing about the files but they’ve rented the apartment already to someone else with once again 0 communication from their part. Very incompetent firm.
