I have been a member of many gyms over the years and while this may not be the best there are many simple things they can do to make it a good gym.1. Respect your hours. If the sign on the door says open at 5am then you better have someone there to open by 5am. This is a contract you have entered into with your members and if you do not honor your end of the agreement you will not retain membership2. Keep the floor and weights organized. Not only is this a safety issue but if management does not respect the gym then I guarantee the members will not either3. provide adequate and clean bathroom and locker services. (After almost 2 months of membership, I do not believe the showers have been cleaned once)4. arrange your gym ergonomically (easy to use); you dont put your weight tree in a corner and you dont put your flat bench right under a ceiling lightI would like for this to be a better gym, I would like to be able to recommend this to others, but if management maintains this hands off approach they will not be around long

PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD HAVE YOUR STAFF ENFORCE WEARING A MASK ITS NOT THAT DIFFICULT... Over 30 people seen not wearing mask during Mondays visit in under 1hour I was there.. CMON................... ENFORCE IT!!!!!!!!!!! Its for everyones safety, do you not care about everyones well being? Why are you even allowed to be open then...
Sadly I was over the weekend with my friends and the staff was not wearing a mask and that lead to nearly all the customers also just wearing chin diapers instead of proper face coverings.. Please soo many have issue with this, the staff needs to step up and change this ASAP :(
My mom Kathy Dazzo says Greg and Darnell are great with their greetings both before and after a workout. Darnell always makes me laugh with his sense of humor! Great place!
Over the past month the gym has had the SUANA out of order, followed by the bathroom, and now the water fountains.The equipment is average and now I can’t use the rest room or get a sip of water.
This is my gym baby!! staff MUCH friendlier than even Planet Fitness staff.. not too many ppl go yet so it easy to do what you want to do and get it in!!!
This gym is one of the greatest working out experiences Ive had, love the staff and everyone is here to work out and not mess around, I love it
I go while my kids are in school and It’s a great gym and great staff..great daycare as well ...also the Cleanliness of the gym has recently gotten way better with the new staff ...every morning I go the guy with dreads is always up and about cleaning something making sure things are good..I wish other gyms were like this😢 ...I would highly recommend this golds gym definitely 👍🏽💪🏾

Nice staff but poor customer service and policy. Failed to notify me when my membership was being renewed and they would not accommodate me when I told them the fee was unexpected.
Friendly staff but a bit on the small side. hard to get in at some stations when its moderately busy. Could definitely use another cable station

2022-03-04Not clean. Holes in the walls. Weights left on the machines. Too many kids working out and not enough equipment, you have to wait for everything even late at night. They need more equipment especially the basic stuff. Could be good if more attention was put into upkeep.

2022-05-04The gym is clean which is nice but the music is so obnoxiously loud it drowns out the earbuds in my ears. I suggest bringing earplugs so you dont damage your hearing.

2021-08-06Love Golds Gym in Middle Island. Recently new management took over and you can see the difference!!! The gym, equipment, fitness room and bathrooms are very clean! The staff is friendly and helpful. I had an issue with personal training before the new crew took over and the new management did everything they could to make it right without me even asking! Quality equipment and excellent group classes- the instructors are amazing.

2021-08-06I’ve been going to Gold’s since they first opened and have noticed such an improvement since new management took over a few months ago. Everything has improved recently—the gym and bathrooms are clean, the staff is helpful and friendly and I absolutely love the classes Gold’s offers. The instructors are knowledgeable and the workouts are great. There are so many class options too! Highly recommend Gold’s in Middle Island!

2021-06-17Love this gym but SO disappointed kids club still hasn’t been opened. I was told, which prompted my re-enrollment, it would be open June 14, 2021. Here we are a week later now being told it’s not opening until maybe early July. I understand you need it clean, which I can appreciate but it’s really unfair this isn’t a priority to all the parents who pay for this as part of membership. Can you please prioritize getting a cleaning crew and open it?!!!!!!

2021-10-20Will never become a member here again. The manager did what she would to accommodate me but I had a few issues with my card. They hit my card a 20$ fee for a charge not going through before anyone got back to me abs even told me what was going on! Hopefully it gets better there

2021-05-29This is a nice gym. The employees are kind and its usually not too crowded. But please mix up the music, not everyone likes rap and it makes it hard to concentrate! Have a great day!

2020-01-08Good gym and good price! Bathrooms and locker area could be better cleaned but overall a good Gym. Not to crowded. The setup could be better though. More free weight space and shrinking down that turf area in the middle of the gym would allow that!

2019-11-10I can’t say enough good things about Golds Gym in Middle Island. I’ve been going Atleast 5 days a week for a little over a year and I feel like I’m coming home every time I walk in. The staff is amazing, they’re helpful, informative, and friendly. I never walk past that desk without a smile put on my face. I’ve trained with Kim in the beginning and LOVED the experience. She taught me so much and showed me what I could do. I would recommend this gym and do often.
