I hesitated to write a review since I wasn’t able to eat here, but then decided to because I do think people should know my experience. My hotel recommended that I try this place and on their website it states that they do take-out on weekdays and they even have a button for me to order. Thank goodness I called them to ask a question because I was abruptly told that they are not going to do takeout tonight. I found that strange since if I hadn’t called them I would’ve placed the order… and then what? They would’ve called me to cancel the order? I was trying to think why they made this seemingly arbitrary choice and looked at their evening reservations and there were plenty available. So it’s not like they’ve run out of food. Perhaps they’ve run out of all of their takeout containers? I don’t know. I just thought the entire thing was in bad form.
Beautiful ambiance, professional service, and delicious food. Our server Bart, was extremely helpful in guiding us through the menu and answering questions. Bartender Kim, made us stunning cocktails, which I would go back for all on their own. The food wowed everyone, and can’t wait to try the rest of the menu. Name holds true, we had a Goodnight!
Good Night has created a beautiful space both inside and out that buzzes with a lively crowd. Service is generally good. We were a table of 3 and put at a triangular table where one of us had to sit at a point of the triangle which was quite uncomfortable. It’s the food we had a gripe with. My appetizer of shrimp and shishito was yummy if a bit overly sweet. My entree of Crispy Flounder initially came out before the appetizers and was brought back to the kitchen and I was promised the same plate would never be reused. I believe it was as when served at the proper time, it was tepid at best and quite rubbery. My husbands $100 Wagyu rib-eye was woefully thin and cooked beyond his desired done-ness. Our bad was in not complaining earlier; the waiter’s bad was in not asking how our dinners were, especially after I left more than half of the fish uneaten. The 5-Spice cake was dry and needed the ice cream on top with which it was served.
This place is amazing. My wife and I had a phenomenal meal here. The food was delicious and interesting, the service was fantastic, and the vibe and ambiance inside the restaurant was really special. Our server, the front of house, the bartenders, all of them were really awesome and great hosts. The carpaccio and chicken are not to be missed, but everything was a hit. Just a well curated menu all around.Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a special dinner experience.
As soon as you walk into Good Night, be beautiful aromas hit you coming out of the kitchen, the scene is set for a Good Night. The lighting perfect, the music just right. You may wonder if you are in Woodstock or Soho. I would drive to Woodstock just for the cauliflower with ginger scallion sauce and garlic chips, thankfully I live close. The Shan tofu salad was perfectly prepared with mango, kumquat, mint and cilantro. I thought the prices were reasonable and appropriately priced considering the quality and the atmosphere. I highly recommend Good Night not only for anyone passing through the area, but also as a destination restaurant in Ulster County. Thank You for a Good Night!
We were visiting from Seattle WA and our daughter took us to Good Night. We happen to have been in the food industry as well and were so overwhelmed by the flavors, presentation and service. Our server helped us slect vegan options of which there are many. We would definitely return as it was truly one of the best culinary experiences in New York!!
I booked a delayed Thanksgiving dinner for our family party of four. I was excited to try a new dining experience in Woodstock, and this seemed the ideal place. As other reviewers have noted, NYC prices have landed permanently in Woodstock (how I miss the great value, delicious offerings and genuine ambience of The Bear Café), but this review isn’t about the food or drinks, which were good but quite expensive.Rather, it is about the shoddy treatment from the owner, at the very end of an otherwise pleasant meal. Out of nowhere he appears to scold my mother for having the audacity to have her bagged leftover meal placed on the banquette seat. Understand that HIS waitstaff prepared said bag, and placed it there. He requested that the bag be moved to the floor — a clear violation of health codes. All to preserve his precious velour banquette (specify Naugahyde next time, chum). An unfortunate finish to our Thanksgiving dinner, to say the least. I will not be returning.
We went there on our date night and loved the atmosphere, music and decor. The service was very good and we enjoyed the appetizers of watercress salad, cauliflower and string beans. For some reason all the shishitos were super spicy and the mung bean noodle side dish was extremely bland. When I asked for a side of sesame oil I was told the dish is curated and thus nothing can be added except salt which was brought. Strangely they do not serve warm tea which was a disappointment as we dont drink alcohol and love tea with our meal especially an Asian menu. Also only caffeinated cappuccino which is tough in the evening. Definitely worth coming back and trying more dishes although my husband said he will be having the seafood green curry every time.
Fantastic new restaurant with exquisitely seasoned world cuisine served family style to share. Tasteful decor and comfortable atmosphere, open and yet cozy, a welcome addition to the town. Dairy free menu with meat and vegetarian options, they were accommodating of dietary needs as well. Love it!
We were visiting Woodstock and meeting our friends for dinner at Goodnight and wow!! What an unbelievable, gorgeous space! Banquettes and marble tabletops! Superb professional service from our server Deb who guided us through the menu, delicious and beautifully presented dishes. Pescatarian heaven! Get the larp, blowfish, snapper and the seafood curry. We are definitely coming back.

2022-03-20Has only been open for 6 months, but the professional attitude of the staff was beyond compare. Knowledgeable staff will guide you every step of the way. Tried so many new wines, Im exhausted. Truly a wonderful experience not to be missed.

2022-05-15Good Night is a fabulous place to eat in Woodstock (coming from someone who lives and dines primarily in NYC). The food was delicious, with spicy Asian themes, we had 3 apps and 2 mains and they were all well executed. I was pleasantly surprised that it was not too spicy - it certainly had heat - but was tolerable for someone who is more sensitive to spice; it carried flavor but was not overwhelming. Additionally, they are happy to point out the spicier items on the menu if you are more cautious. The drinks were delicious as well, and the staff was very kind. One last thing to mention - they have a gorgeous patio, which is great for sitting outside.

2022-05-29The best food in Woodstock! In fact, the best food I’ve had in upstate NY. From the beautiful decor to the delicious cocktails, the whole experience is worth repeating. The fried shrimp, spiced duck, and tofu appetizers were particularly memorable. And the staff are fantastic, too. What a special and unexpected restaurant.

2022-04-14Stayed in Woodstock for three nights, ate at Silvia and then Good Night back to back. Both were two of the best meals weve had in a long time. Excellent, thoughtful cocktails, incredible appetizers (the duck and the carpaccio are real stand outs) and a beautiful space. Cant wait to eat here again.

2022-06-29Another great restaurant in Woodstock! The food and drinks are great. I love the Thai flavors that this place has to offer. The parking is slightly annoying since theres no sidewalk from the parking lot on the side of the street that the restaurant is on and that road is fairly busy but that was the only odd thing. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

2022-04-21From the moment we walked in, without a reservation on a busy Saturday night- the hostess was very kind- and let us know when she would be able to seat us at the bar- updating us with time frames. I didn’t get her name but she was very lovely and worked on 4/16. Thank you Art, who was not our server but gave us a warm welcome even though we were sitting at the bar. Stephanie the GM came over and greeted us as well. We did not expect for anyone to remember us fromthe last time we dined months ago-however the gesture speaks volumes on the care and consideration of your team and is very much appreciated.

2022-01-05Food: amazing! Service: friendly but beyond uneven. They forgot to give our order to the kitchen so it came very very late. They comped our appetizers which was both nice & the right thing to do. No desserts available yet. Opening jitters in the pandemic- I think it will be a great place when they smooth out their staffing.

2022-07-05We came here for a family dinner and had a great time. The restaurant is beautiful esthetically. We each had and appetizer and a main and loved them all. We also had some delicious cocktails and homemade sodas.

2022-01-22The vibes and decor are perfection. The food was a blessing of joy to eat in these dark times. It’s so good it’s makes your day. We ordered take out and somehow they made everything be able to travel well and taste just as good as when you order it in person when I got home. The whole snapper and monk fish are ridiculously great - still thinking about them. We loved the dumplings too!
