I have known Sensei Jeff Lovering since before we had black belts, have watched Goshinkan since its beginnings. In addition to offering realistic self defense for all ages, there is a sense of family and caring about this school that make it unique.
I have been attending the adult classes for the last five months. I am lucky to have found this dojo. All ages, all walks of life. If you want to train to get home safe, this is the dojo. When I first started, I asked a high level black belt why is everyone so helpful? The response was we all had help along the way. That response is all you should need to know about this dojo.
I have been training here for years and I have to say all of the staff are very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. Ive learned so much and continue to do so everyday. Shihan Jeff actively leads the classes as well as continues to positively impact many peoples lives. Its a privilege to be able to train at his dojo.
Feels good when achieving the impossible things that are put in front of me. Who wouldve thought I was be an orange belt in Jiu-jitsu let alone be 53 and still being able to do things with my body weight. But here I am almost 3 years and doing it. I owe alot of that to the best Shihan around Jeff Lovering whose kind, understanding and always good at making you feel comfortable and laughing when you mix up your right and lefts. Lol. Thank you Shihan for being amazing person and friend.
My daughter has been going to Goshinkan for 7 years now and loves it! She has fun and I like that it provides discipline and exercise.

I have been going to this dojo consistently since I was 3 years old because of the community Sensei Jeff has built. He is the best teacher I have ever had and he has created a family-like atmosphere unlike any other. The kids program is top notch, with Sensei Katie and Sensei Sal creating a fun filled environment while instilling discipline at the same time. The adult program is also fantastic, with students from ages 13 to late 70s able to modify their own routine with the supervision of instructors. This dojo is a uniquely special place and I couldn’t recommend it more!
Excellent instructions modified to individual abilities. At 73 yrs there are some techniques I am physically incapable of performing. The individual techniques that I have problems with have been modified to my abilities. The dojo’s student body covers a broad range of students from grade school to senior citizens, from the physically fit to those with handicaps.
Just left a Birthday party and my daughter wants to try the free class so we will see how it goes

This dojo is an amazing place! From the dedicated head instructor, Shihan Lovering, to the dedicated Senseis, to the wonderful students I get to train with. I wish I had found it sooner!

2022-08-26I cant say enough about Goshinkan Jujitsu Dojo except that when I was searching for a martial arts school for my children, I was referred to this school by a close friend who was training there. After watching a couple of class and seeing how focused and engaged the other children were and the level of dedication the instructors are. I decided to enroll my children. If youre looking for a really good martial arts school to send your children too. Look no further. I extremely recommend Goshinkan Jujitsu Dojo. Your children will love you for it.

2022-08-28Great place for kids. All the Senseis are excellent. Both my boys 13 and 9 have been going for years. They are taught respect and learn how to defend themselves, and be confident. Highly recommend to anyone.

2022-09-14A treasure of long island! Great program with great teachers; one of my favorite places ever. Ive trained there for many years and I couldnt recommend it enough. Shihan Jeff and all the Sensei instructors are all very welcoming and supportive; youre learning from talented martial artists and talented educators / communicators so its a pleasure taking a class there. The training partners you get to work with are hardworking people diligently working towards pushing their limits and improving their skillsets; its a pleasure to work with any of them.

2022-08-30After having trained many years in another martial art, I wanted to expand my knowledge to another system. Goshinkan Dojo provided that opportunity. This is a serious JuJitsu school that has a lot to offer. Strongly recommended.

2022-09-18We’ve tried several martial art places in the past and although they may know what they’re doing, none have ever had the energy that the Goshinkan Dojo provides.All sensei treat each other and students with such support and respect. They model behavior that each student wants to follow and return. All while teaching and learning to kick butt and amazing defense. Everyone is one here. It feels like family. You get much more than jujitsu at Goshingkan.My kids aren’t into sports and would stay on their computers if I let them. But they actually want to go to jujitsu. But only this one. Hopefully, I’ll join one day too. Lol

2022-08-25I went to Goshinkan as a child and loved it so much. The dojo is a family and I learned many valuable life skills there in addition to self defense. This dojo and it’s teachers (especially Sensei Jeff) are incredible and now my son is a student. Amazing place with amazing people.

2022-08-31I’ve been taking classes since last year, and I love going. The sensei’s are really nice and funny, so even though I always wake up sore the next day it doesn’t stop me from going. Amazing place for sure!!😋
