Grande Pizza in other cities:
I grew up eating Grandes pizza and went to school with the owners son. I might be a bit biased but its the best pizza in Broome County. It used to be even better when they had their old school brick pizza oven. Its still amazing even with the modern ones. Especially if the owners are the ones doing the cooking. Highly recommend anyone who likes pizza to stop in for lunch and get a slice. Thats just the pizza. The rest of their Italian food is just as amazing. Great place to go on a date. Nice and quiet. Very relaxing atmosphere. Would give more stars if I could.
My wife and I went to Grande Pizza last night as a chance visit due to Spiedes being out of wings. As we drove through the parking lot we spied Grande and realized we had never gone in. We parked and ventured inside. As we walked through the dining room to our booth we saw the Salad bar on the right and pizza bar on the left. Both looked delicious. I ordered the Caprese salad and hot antipasto and my wife decided on the all-you-can-eat pizza and salad. How can you go wrong for $10? The food was delicious and the service was great too, very attentive. We had a chance to speak with one of the owners who made us feel welcome and we look forward to returning to support this great local business often.
I was sitting in the parking lot before entering the restaurant for my to go order, when I noticed another patron walking into the restaurant with a pizza box in hand. As I entered the establishment after this patron, the patron was returning the pizza they just took to their vehicle because they realized they were given the wrong pizza. The box was opened and the restaurant employee at the the register, looked at the pizza, closed the box and then 30 seconds later, attempted to hand me the pizza that was just in another patrons vehicle that had been returned. I asked the employee if the pizza they were selling me was the pizza that the other patron just returned. They tried to tell me not “to be mad” as they had realized the gravity of their situation. I guess they were willing to gamble with my families health and wellness for their cost of flour and water. Wow. Spoiler Alert: Not going back 🤮
First time trying Grandes after many years in the Binghamton area. The whole ride home from picking up I was salivating! It smelled soooo good. Im a Cortland kid who grew up.on awesome pizza slices... And Grandes brought me back to that nostalgia! Awesome job, I loved every bite. The Chef Salad was HUGE, and the Chicken Parm was like my grandmother would make!!! Will be back for sure!!!
In the time of covid...Im tired of writing that. The menu has a good selection of Italian dishes. There is a salad bar and pizza special. Whole round pizzas and food can be taken out. The service is friendly and the meals are served in a quickly. The star is being removed is for older remodeling. I enjoy eating there, its a casual atmosphere and reasonable prices.
I have always had good experiences there in the past, but not the last two times. The food was always great, but only marginal these last two times. Not horrible, but not good either. Maybe they had to lay off staff? In these times, I understand that they might have had to do it just to get by. Ill try once in awhile, but until the food gets to what it was I wont be going there on a steady basis anymore.I really do wish them the best of luck, as I do all small businesses.
The atmosphere is cozy and clean. The smell of pizza and pasta permeate the air. The servers are incredibly helpful and friendly. The menu has a wide variety of Italian cuisine that can please almost any taste. The pizzas are the best New York style pies in the Southern Tier and are made with incredible skill and an eye for detail. Absolutely delicious experience in eating.
Come on People - Lets get out and support our local family owned businesses!! - I have enjoyed many meals hereover 35+yrs., and have NEVER gotten a bad meal 💚 - These people are like family and will treat you the same 😉 Quantity & Quality - I had the Spinach Gnocchi & Seafood stuffed mushrooms - DELICIOUS 😊
I hate to be one to complain but we were very disappointed with our meal tonight from Grandes. We have been to Grandes several times and had good food and service but tonight was the exception. We ordered honey garlic scallops and spaghetti with garlic and butter sauce. My husbands scallops were way overcooked and rubbery and swimming in oil and my garlic was burnt and very unappetizing!!! Not at all worth the $32 we paid for our meal. Come on guys, I know you can do better than that.
AYCE salad bar and pizza. Pizza are prepared in stone stove and so are delicious despite not having lots of ingredients. Salad bar is pretty standard, nothing special. The waitress was so nice that she let us bring our puppy in after asking her manager. I would recommend this place to anyone local or whos just passing by.
We love their cheese pizza. Best in the area. Takeout is fast but it can get confusing at the checkout counter. Staff was busy and didnt seem ready to wait on those picking up orders to go. Theres no que...line for payment so I felt like I had to apologize to other guests just to see who was waiting to be seated to eat or to pick up orders. Plus side: very friendly pizza guy. Yummy peanut butter frosted brownies at the register and great pizza. Two pies and a brownie plus tip...36 bucks.
I would do no stars if I could. Not only do they not have hours posted online(its 2018 come on...) I called at 9:45pm to see hours he answers. I place my order he then says sorry we are closed. okay then why didnt you say that from the get go. And then the next day I go there at 11:30 am because the flyer in the clippers magazine says hours opens 11 daily. They dont open til noon on Sundays. And then the final straw was when I used a coupon that says enjoy free 1 topping any size pizza they say its actually enjoy free 1 topping ON any size pizza and charge me. I arguably paid just to get home and find my pizza is still raw in the middle and covered in flour on the bottom. I Will never go back or recommend. Go to New York Pizzeria. Much better food, staff, and prices.
They have incredible pizza here. They are very large pizzas with a lot of options for toppings. This is what makes a successful pizza place is having those options of coarse meals and also regular pizza that you can munch on. You keep both an upscale crowd and also casual crowd, is a very mixed group and I hope they stick around for a long time.
My family & I have always loved this place until today! My sister & I had a horrible experience. The waitress was rude and wouldnt let you talk. we ordered the eggplant parm with spaghetti and wanted to share it and got charged for an extra plate. The salad bar was messy and we had to wait on lettuce. Then eggplant tasted bad and was mushy with no seasonings on it!! The spaghetti was way over cooked! plus the sauce tasted way to sweet like something weird was added! we left without eating or leaving a tip. Really disappointed today.
I’ve been frequenting Grandes Pizza in the Northgate Plaza for many years and had never been disappointed until this week. While I was eating a slice of pizza on Thursday, I bit into something hard and broke the filling in one of my back molars. Having worked in the pizza industry for many years, my guess is that a hard piece of dough worked its way into this particular pizza. Am I mad that my tooth was broken, yes...because it hurt like heck! Am I mad that I had to shell out $150 at the holidays and take time off from work to fix this...sure, I’m mad about that. What really grinds my gears is that I called the restaurant, was told that I would receive a call back from the manager Thursday night or Friday...and guess what? No call was received. I wasn’t looking for any type of reimbursement, but a phone call to apologize and to check in on me would have been nice. I always try to support local, family owned businesses...but it has been made perfectly clear that this one doesn’t care. I will not be going back.
Went in to have pizza and a salad and ended up ordering a full dinner. The food was very good, I ordered spaghetti and meatballs with a salad. My wife ordered another pasta dish. The portions are quite large, so we each ended up taking half the diners home with us. The service was a little slow even though they werent super busy. Will have to try it again for pizza. Prices are reasonable too.
Not what it used to be! Got French onion soup. No bread. Easy on onions. There was virtually no cheese. Tasted like oil and oregano. DISGUSTING. Took one sip and put it down. Owner dealt with it by telling me that my asking for light onions was the cause. (Ummm shouldnt your broth have flavor regardless?!?) Gave me $1 off it. Thanks anyway. Keep your dollar. Hope it was worth the cost of my review. #shareit Waitress was excellent. Owner needs to take a class in customer service.
Im not sure if Grande Pizza got a new cook or if the owners no longer care about long time customers. We got a hot appetizer plate and it was cold. My daughter got fettuccine Alfredo and there was very little sauce. I got rigatoni ala vodka which is suppose to one of there signature dishes. It was awful. Needless to say a restaurant that onces was a family facorite we will not be returning.
Went here for a special event, 80th birthday of my wifes aunt. Our family took over about 2/3 of the restaurant and we had pizza and salad bar for everyone. The staff brought out about a dozen pizzas with all different toppings, all of which were very nicely done. Salad bar was basic but good. Potato salad and cole slaw tasted shop-made, not from a container. Best of all, the staff was friendly and attentive, clearly not flustered at all by the super large party. Everyone had a great time and we would definitely go back.
I went to grande pizza for the first time in years and the pizza was bad. I order a couple pepperoni slices and they are nothing more then bland cardboard cut to look like pizza. The crust was tuff, thin, greasy, and bland no flavor at all.The decor in the restaurant was wow. Christmas lights covered up by see through fabric wow. The restaurant was empty when i was there.
I frequently visit this place usually get the pizza buffet but the last time I was there I got the lasagna dinner somehow they lost my order and waited about 45 to 50 minutes for my order the server was nice and gave me a couple of slices of pizza from the Buffet and apologized for the wait I ended up taking it home I ate it the next day it was very good The lady at the counter apologized about the wait I said to her I will be back. They have a nice salad bar with a lot of items.the portions was large had 2 meals from this if you like pizza give it a try
Flavorless pizza - probably the worst I have ever had. I asked for a specialty pizza menu and didnt get one, so we were forced to build our own. What respectable pizza joint has no specialty menu??Sauce was too runny and had no taste even with added garlic.I only write reviews if extremely disappointed. 0/5 stars.
Just had dinner here for a wedding. Food was fair at best; soggy and quickly cooked. Service is poor waitresses gnore you at the bar and seem flustered and extremely unorganized. Alos drink prices are very high 9 dollars for a rum and coke double. I would not recommend this place and usually am very accepting of quirks.
I have been a long time patron of this establishment. While it has been mostly take out I have had enough. The last 3 times we have ordered take out from this place it has been a total waist of money. The wings do not have sauce on them, it seems like they dunk them in butter and pour some oiled down sauce into the container. The pizza is usually burnt and the blue cheese is so watered down it has no flavor. There are to many other options in town that have great food at the same price. GO else where.
It is with great sadness that I will not be going back to this restaurant . I have been going here for years and have always raved about the food and especially the salad bar. However, the last time we were eating there we sat in a both where we could see the salad bar. The girl who came out to refill and clean up where people dropped food around the choices is the reason I will not be returning. She wore gloves...good start, but she pushed food off the table that people had dropped back into the dishes. That was bad enough but she left the gloves on , washed up the area, put down the cloth and lifted out an empty dish and put a full one back in and then WITH THE DIRTY GLOVES ON, PUSHED THE FOOD STUCK ON THE SPOON INTO THE FULL DISH AND PUT THE SPOON BACK IN. Disgusted. I should have called.the manager over right then but was shocked and did not want to get her fired. She knew I saw her and seemed ashamed but I just can not go back.
This is the first bad experience in 30 years ast grandes.Owners arent here, food missing on salad nd messy. To top it OFF the RUDE old pizza maker, after i saw old pizza food in window I said I dont know why I came? he replied. i dont know why you came either. he refused to make us 2 pieces of pepperoni they wanted us to BUY a whole pie!!! really. Also, there wasnt one clean table. Hello health department.
Went to the Pizza Buffet and the Pizza was all Grease it was soggy and gross, Then I went for the garlic Knots And they were ice cold I then asked my server to warm a few up, When they finally got to our table they were dry and burnt and all you could taste was garlic salt disgusting even my eight-year-old said she never wanted to go back would never recommend Going here was a total waist of time and Money 35$ for 2 Adults and 1 kid
I have been to Grandes many times and typically have had good experiences, mainly with the pizza buffet. I recently was there and ordered off the menu and what a change! First, I had to ask for our waitress once to order and then I believe it took 45 minutes before we were served our entree. When I ordered the eggplant parm she asked what king of pasta I would like and I ordered one but asked that it be put into a container to go because I knew I would not need it. When the entree came the pasta was on top of the eggplant and I know why, because you dont get much eggplant and the pasta is good at hiding that fact. I suggest Michangelos for eggplant or lagasane, much better portion. My son ordered a pasta dish that has shrimp in a red sauce. Why would you have a dish like that in a sauce and leave the tail on the shrimp? CHARGE ME ANOTHER DOLLAR FOR TAIL OFF SHRIMP, PLEASE! Overall the service was SLOW and the price for what you get is high! I would still go back for the pizza buffet, but thats probably all.
A Binghamton staple. Has been my #1 choose if Im asked where I wanna go for lunch or dinner. My Mom was one of the original servers back o the 70s. Amy, Mary, Natalie & Gina are great. By far my favorite Pizza spot in town. Best salad bar...Thanks for your continuing excellence,Jeff Thurber & Adam Goss.
Food ok, dirty condiments and serving trays. I was so grossed out by the film on the shakers it turned my stomach. The tray they put pizza on had stuck on food on the base, and the flatware wasnt much better. The ladies room has 2 stalls but the regular one is not code by any means. You cant pull your pant down without hitting the door with your knees.Wont go back.Hell on wheels needs to go in and clean the place and train them on cleaning.
Grew up with this restaurant and sorry to say but the increase in bad service has made me stop being a patron, finale straw was when they couldnt get a simple 2 item pizza correct after months of not being able to get our salad order right then looking at us as if its our fault. To many other choices out there were done.
Ordered 4 subs from this place one of the subs was not to have onions on it which it did told the lady Im allergic to onions and their meatball sub was nasty wasnt meatballs it was a hamburger with a ton of garlic next time I come into to n.y Ill stay away from this place
Having gone on rare occasions, Grandes serves a great variety of Italian food: whether it is their pizza buffet and garlic knots and salad bar; or their pasta dishes. Grandes is highly recommended for anyone who loves Italian food and of course their pizza and garlic knots!!!!!!!!!
Service was horrible... went there on a Fri night about 7pm ordered just 2 pies and garlic knots... first it took 20 min before someone came to greet us and take order for drinks..Then when we placed our order, the waitress came back and said they are not cooking any garlic knots... I MEAN REALLY...

2022-04-27Its become way too unaffordable to dine here. For the prices they want, you can go to far nicer restaurants with higher quality food. Its not a bad place, its just the food does not reflect the pricing (by a long shot, and thats not even taking into consideration their indoor dining atmosphere - which leaves much to be desired).I also feel there is more positive bias to this place due to prior local reputation. So youll get alot of people in town vouching for it, but its more so due because its always been here.

2022-03-18The idea of a pizza buffet is only Sunday thru Wednesday. The lunch special is 2 slices and salad bar for $10.95.My wifes pizza slices looked like theyd been sitting under a heat lamp for 30 minutes.

2019-02-24Pizzas are very well cooked and taste amazing here. The flavors come out and leave you satisfied, unlike many over-greased local pizza parlors. The toppings are generous, and prices decent.Phone ordering is fast and prompt as well.
