This is a mid priced kosher diary restaurant at 35 W 57th Street in New York City. I have eaten their many times over the years, most recently yesterday. It serves a variety of salads, sandwiches , pizza and other diary entrees . They have various fruit smoothies, soft drinks and a very limited wine and beer menu. The food is generally good, though I would not say its great. Their is waiter service as well as a counter. Service is generally relatively quick, though when it starts to get crowded it can slow down quickly. Prices are reasonable for a Manhattan RestaurantThis is a good restaurant to go to if you are in the area and want to have a fairly quick and decent meal.
Came here with my daughter who is health conscious. Food was served quickly. Very tasty and fresh. I had the quesadeia with eggplant and mushrooms and was very pleased. My daughter had the penne. Bathrooms were very nice and clean. I would give it five stars if the server was more friendly.
Wonderful experience any time Im in Midtown. I could eat here at any point in the day and be more than satisfied. Their top notch service is definitely an added bonus. If youre in Manhattan and looking for a healthy option, you cant go wrong by visiting Great American Health Bar on 57th ave
Terrible seating arrangements. The sign says wait to be seated but when someone finally came, he said sit where ever you want. Then why do you have signs to wait? No one walked us to our table. It took 10 mins for a waitress to come and ask us our drinks and thats after I raised my hand. They dont pick up dirty plates. And after they served the food, the waitress was no where to be found. I got my own to go box bc we couldnt find her. On top of that, the menu is extremely over priced. I spent $80 on pasta and omlettles. I asked if we could split the pasta for two and she said yes. When it came out, it was only suitable for one person. The only good thing going for them is the chef in the back. Other than that, the front needs a real good makeover, people included.
As a tourist that comes out if bed late we arrived at 9.30 when it was reasonably quite. We sat down and were served by staff who were very helpful and there was a wonderful atmosphere. The food was also incredibly filling and very flavoursome. That said, my younger sister, 6, waited quite a while for her muffin.
Great food, near the park and happens to be kosher! I took my wife there after a day off in the city and was really happy with the food. Its a small place, we happened to be there with a stroller with a stroller which made it complicated (blocked the aisle), but that and the prices are pretty standard for NYC.
I saw a guy in the kitchen (from the place where you order) transfering a sort of avocado mix from a bowl to another with his own (ungloved) hands. When a restaurant comes to the point where it is not even ashamed to do so in front of customers I guess it tells a lot about it. There was also an awful smell in the back of the restaurant. I guess the reason such place survives is because there arent many places for coffee and eat in the area. Still, avoid.
Nice selection of pretty fresh food. Service is OK. The waitress we had was attentive but took us a long time to get the check at the end of the meal. Overall I would recommend the soups and the salads. Open quite late. Would not recommend delivery as that has always taken way way too long
Terrible staff. Inattentive. Waited over 10 minutes to be asked what our order was. Ordered chocolate chip muffin, was given one that was orange. Asked the server if it was actually a chocolate chip muffin. yes, of course. So I tasted it, and no chocolate chips. It was carrot flavored. After asking if it was a carrot muffin the server said yes, we have no chocolate chip muffins left. I just dont understand the situation.
For years, I have seen some of the world’s top supermodels and some of America’s wealthiest individuals come to this diamond of a restaurant on Billionaires row. Supermodels enjoy the nutritious and healthy food, and financial titans can’t pass up an amazing deal and meal.
I came here yesterday for lunch. After I left, my stomach felt queasy. Right before I went to bed, I was vomiting from the food poisoning I got at Great American Health Bar. I am still sick today. The ladies bathroom is filthy. I spent $30.00 on my lunch and I got food poisoning. STAY AWAY!!!!!
If you havent been here in a while, come back. GAHB is a forgotten gem on the North end of midtown. Lots of choices, including a whole bunch of healthy ones. Its a bit like Ratners moved to California and get a memo about some cleaner living. Lots of choices, good food, and reasonable prices. Soups are great, and many entrees are worth coming back for..if anything maybe too much variety, but in restaurants I prefer more variety over less. Definitely a keeper!
Food is GREAT. Place is clean.Havent went in for a long time (over a year) because the cashier guy is definitely a scammer!! He never rings me up, just takes my cash. last time I asked him for a receipt, and he said he already closed the ticket out, I told him - You didnt even ring me up!!! the owners should pay more attention to this guy.Now I have it delivered.other than that, I LoVe the food!!
We went there with a friend and waited 15 minutes for a waitress to come to us. We were planning to have lunch but were in a hurry, so because of too much waiting we ordered only coffee. I cant say anything about their food as we didnt try anything but I was greatly disappointed with the service
The owner is a bully- he was going to push me until I told him not to touch me!!!!! Very nasty person! A poor older man with a walker was trying to go down the stairs to go into the restaurant and he was screaming at him to get out of the way- my daughter had to go up the stairs to help him down! He pushes the customers! Do not recommend going there!!!!
After ordering takeout for years, decades actually, I get lousy service and attitude from the new girl behind the counter. Not to mention she goves me a small soup when I ordered and paid for a large, I notoce and then get a large matzoh ball soup, but without a matzoh ball. Then more lip. Very strange!
Evening manager? needs psychological help. I said that the 3% credit card fee the restaurant charges should be written on the menu, so he began to argue aggressively and said hed break my head if I ever came back. He backed away from it only after I challenged him to try.

2022-06-28Such a good TBT.I came here with my friend for an early supper on a Sunday in June 2022.I ordered the Salmon Salad Wrap which was generously portioned. The menu said whole wheat but it looked white to me, the salmon was well seasoned not too salty and the salad added a nice crunch. I requested Caesar dressing on the side because I prefer a little sauce to drip n dip.My friend ordered the Matzoh Ball Soup and I had some; it was so flavorful and the ball was fluffy and huge. She also ordered the Taco Salad which is her favorite because it comes in an edible taco bowl. It has cheese tho so I couldnt taste it.We shared the French fries and they were one of the tastiest most perfectly cooked fry Ive ever had. Crispy yet soft, seasoned but not too salty, long but not shoestring and thicc but not obese.5 stars because the waiter missus was attentive and made us feel welcome and served us efficiently and with a smile.

2022-02-06It serves a variety of salads, sandwiches , pizza and other diary entrees . Theyve diverse fruit smoothies, soft beverages and a very constrained wine and beer menu. The food is commonly desirable, even though i would no longer say its wonderful. Their is waiter provider in addition to a counter. Provider is usually surprisingly quick, though while it starts to get crowded it can sluggish down fast. Expenses are affordable for a ny eating placeThis is a great restaurant to visit if you are within the area and want to have a reasonably brief and decent meal.

2022-05-22The server was rude and barely understanding English. Ive asked for no egg in the food, but it was added even though. As well as check is confusing it had gratuity not included, but server took a pen and crossed out the word not and included the gratuity anyway.

2021-11-14Despite the name, the menu is pretty generic for a dairy kosher restaurant; the only unusual thing is that dishes that in other places would be made with white bread or rice are made with brown bread or rice. Having said that there are a few gems here: I very much liked the shakshuka, and the falafel was also above average. The non-Middle Eastern things Ive had so far were not as exceptional , but were certainly edible. Since I live nearby I look forward to trying more of the menu.
