Was very excited to stay at Great Pines as their Instagram makes it look beautiful. We arrived to see a staff member vaping in a guest room while delivering towels. The woman at the front desk was less than friendly. Our $250 cabin had many spider webs, leftover dog food on the floor, heavily stained carpets, crusty substance on the curtains, dog hair on the blankets, the jacuzzi tub filled about 1/3 of the way before it ran out of hot water, the bathroom had bugs and water spewing from the sink and the the front door of the cabin had a gap at the bottom where you could see outside allowing a draft. Absolutely would not recommend.Updating to share that after reaching out to Great Pines to provide feedback on my experience, I didnt receive a response. After 4 days with no response, I followed up and they did not apologize for the poor experience and refused to remediate the situation. If youre looking for a positive customer experience or well maintained accommodations, this is not it.
This stellar review is long overdue. In November of 2020, my husband and I got married at Great Pines. We began the process of planning our wedding earlier in the year, right at the beginning of COVID. For months, the weight of the pandemic caused us much anxiety about what our wedding would look like and whether or not we should move forward with planning it. The owners and the wedding organizer, Hannah, answered all of our questions, worked with us with outside vendors, and were very lenient with changes that had to be made to our contract due to the constant guidelines from the CDC. I have heard horror stories about the nasty and rigid constraints wedding venues placed on couple who tried to plan their weddings last year. Friends were forced to reschedule, postpone, and many lost huge sums of money. We did none of these things. Yes, we cut down the number to half (at no added expense to us.) Yes, we wore masks when it was needed. But the staff and owners at Great Pines did everything they could to give us a beautiful and special day. I wouldnt change a thing. Thank you to everyone at the resort who made our day so memorable. I would recommend Great Pines to any bride who is looking for a rustic, picturesque, true ADK wedding. Best day of my life.
We just spent a wonderful weekend at Great Pines. I cannot express how comfortable we felt during these Covid times. They are extremely conscious of keeping everyone safe without it interfering in the experience. Charlotte at the front desk is a gem and a wonderful asset to the Inn. She knows the area well! Our 6 course dinner was amazing! I highly recommend it to anyone who stays here. The Lean-To was perfect for an adult beverage after an afternoon of snowshoeing! Thanks for a great stay! Hope to see you in 2022!
It was not what we were expecting given the price we paid and the description. The room was a dated motel room, rug was old and dirty, cobwebs in the corners and along the bottoms of the walls. The bathroom was very dated. Keurig machine didnt work in the room. I specifically asked before booking if there was a beach and spot for swimming and was told yes. Did not have a good swimming area for kids with all the boats coming in to dock! Water was kicked up constantly, we ended up going to the public beach in town so kids could swim.
My husband and I got married at Great Pines this past October. Britta, Hannah, Devlin and their incredible staff blew us away for our wedding weekend getaway. I continue to get compliments on how amazing the wedding was, the accommodations and the ambiance matched with the picture perfect views. And the food was to die for, all of the guests raved about it and still to do so. The dinner and the brunch was incredible, the chef prepared everything perfect. The staff made us and our guest staying on property feel like family the entire weekend. Their team has created something truly amazing and they exceeded our expectations. We will be continuing to come back for great service, company and amazing meals. I cannot recommend Great Pines, Britta and her team enough.
We enjoyed our stay at this laid back resort! It was a beautiful place to relax and enjoy nature! We especially enjoyed the private dock and kayaks/canoes that were available for use. We were there the beginning of June which was before the tourist rush so we enjoyed a quiet stay.- The staff were very friendly and upgraded us to a nicer room for a cheaper price since there were so few guests! Thanks😉- Our one complaint was a lack of air flow in our room. It was pretty warm at night.Overall.....we loved it! Thanks Great Pines staff!
From the staff to the room to the decor to the proximity to everything it was just incredible. We were lucky enough to be in a room facing the water in the adorable area with the pergola and it was just so peaceful and relaxing. The room felt like a boutique, gorgeous Adirondack furniture and the softest bed I think I’ve ever slept in. It was the Perfect distance to Inlet and old forge and hiking. The staff, especially Charlotte, was beyond hospitable and helpful. Will be back for sure, a must stay in the area. Tip: pay for lakefront it’s worth it.
This resort was the perfect spot for our business meeting. It was remote enough to get us out of our day to day, but had all of the comforts I needed to rest. The room was wonderful, bed comfortable, and staff was hospitable. The food was excellent as well! I highly recommend you plan your next off-site business meeting at Great Pines Resort!!!
My wife & I were celebrating our anniversary dinner, and we both had an AMAZING dining experience! The atmosphere is rustic, and the owners are gracious hosts. I had the sirloin with a sliced potato, that was simply delicious. My wife had the grilled baby artichokes for an appetizer, and halibut en papillote. Both our meals were excellent, and the quality, presentation, and flavor were second to none! Hats off to an AMAZING dining experience!!
False Advertising. Pictures are outdated. The pictures show you what this resort looked like on opening day! Present day; there is staining on the carpets, permanent wet dog odor in the room, several types of spider species in the room, small bathroom, very POOR lighting, no dresser for clothing, broken dorm room sized fridge and thousands of spiders outside the room. There was an infestation of spiders under our bed! Spiders were landing on our face from the ceiling and crawling in our hair from the bed frame. We ended up reporting this resort to the health department for the poor living conditions and also the covid guidelines were not being followed. We specifically booked with the resort for the safety precautions where they guaranteed a 36-hour room quarantine between guests. We watched guests leave one room then a new couple check-in to that same room 6 hours later! THEY LIE!!THIS IS NOT A RESORT AND THE PRICE IS A SCAM! we ended up checking out 3 days early to stay at another hotel in the area because of how dirty the room was. Dont be fooled by the 5 star reviews posted by the owners friends and family.
This lodge has very nice views. Dont miss out to take some time to enjoy the lake nearby. We visited great pines, towards the end of the season in mid October. Their heating situation was not great. We ended up using a space heater for the restroom, as the base board heating wouldnt work.Hot water did take sweet time to get turned on, in the taps. The bathroom was tiny, leaving a lot to be desired. This place is close to tarmac cafe, which has good breakfast. Also it is close to some good hiking trails like Cascade falls and Rocky Mt summit. The person at the front desk was super friendly and she helped us with whatever she could.
Currently The Lodge is closed and theyre using it as overflow for the Lean-To, but there are two 2-tops in front of the fireplace, and the gift shop has been converted into a private chefs table for an intimate and unique dining experience. Eight of us ate at the chefs table two nights ago, and it was an experience that I can only describe as incredible. It truly was an experience and was probably one of the best meals of my life. Great Pines has a new chef, Chef Brian, and what he served us was on the theme of surf and turf. The first course was a beef carpaccio with bacon jam, feta, and finished with truffle oil. Everything was incredible but this was hands down my favorite dish of the evening. Then a zesty citrus salad, followed by a perfectly cooked seared scallop with a butternut squash purée. After that came a salmon filet with what I think was a soy/ginger reduction over a bed of wilted spinach. Finally came a filet medallion and by this time I was too stuffed to eat but kept on truckin. Chef sent out some beignets with maple syrup for dessert and they were so so good, light and the perfect ending to an incredible meal. We brought some of our own wine which Britta corked for us, but I think that the intention is to have a wine pairing with each dish. We know what we like to drink and we were glad they could accommodate us; next time Id take Brittas recs on wine too. They could have served us that food on a dirt floor next to a tire fire and I still would say it was an epic meal. Luckily the owners put as much thought into the ambiance as they have everything else at Great Pines. The lighting is low and intimate, the room is decorated with greenery and ADK-chic touches. Overall the experience was perfect, thoughtful and beautiful and best of all delicious. Cant wait to go back.
Beautiful grounds and a nicely remodeled hotel. Our room was clean and fresh with a comfortable bed and HD TV hooked up to Direct TV. The bathroom was small but clean. It looks like they kept the old door and some of the fixtures from before the remodel but that was fine. They have a fun bar on the lake with good food and friendly staff. I highly recommend it. We did not eat in the fine dining restaurant. In the morning, a nice continental breakfast was provided and it was nice to sit on the porch, sip coffee and eat a large muffin. The pool was not open for some reason. The morning we checked out, they had a major crisis as the water supply went out. The staff handled the situation the best they could and compensated the guests at check out. We did miss the beginning of the wedding we were in Old Forge to attend but the water did eventually come on. They allowed us to use the room for the rest of the day at no additional charge. Very nice owners and I recommend the place.
We planned on having our wedding at the Great Pines - We went and visited, loved the place, and attempted to work with their planner to come to an agreement so we may put a deposit down. We were planning on having 200 people, book the entire resort for the weekend and bringing great business to them. Unfortunately, their wedding planning team was not willing to answer any of my questions thoroughly (she literally did not answer some of my questions at all and just ignored them in emails); she told me I would need to put a deposit down to discuss any details that came to decor policies, policies on it the price of food changes from now until the wedding... Basic stuff... I even gave her a last chance and requested a Zoom call to go over details so we could possibly agree - She could not even accommodate a Zoom call request, it had to be over the phone. When planning my wedding, it seemed to never be about what I wanted, but what she wanted. I could not agree to have my wedding at a venue that did not make me feel welcomed, or involved in planning my own event.
I will say before I write this that I was here in off season so to be fair, I knew the restaurant, bar and other things werent open. So my review is based upon what I had access to. Spectacular views of mountains and 4th Lake. Easy access to Old Forge and areas North via rte 28. I stayed in Lakeview cottage. The place as a whole needs alot of cosmetic work. That said, it could because it was off season. Resort is old. The pics on the website are from a few years ago according to a guy we talked with who works here. The website is very misleading picture wise. Thats what it looked like years ago. It doesnt look that way now. It just needs updating as a whole. Either its an old resort that is presently being renovated as they go or they have just let it slip into disrepair. Either way, it needs alot of work. Room key didnt work very well, large gap at the bottom of the door. Toilet leaked. Deck and railings are old and need replacement. The floor in my room dips towards the center so everything is on a slant. Bathroom was not very clean. There is no room service. The main lodge part is very beautiful. Easy access to the water for Kayaks. If youre just looking for a basic room with no frills to use as a base to do other things, this isnt too bad. But from Ive seen driving around, I couldve done better. Wouldnt mind seeing it during peak season to see how it looks and operates.
Loved it. They had wifi and cable. They had a large grounds to slip around and take a walk. They had an excellent restaurant/bar on site. There is a luxuriously appointed lounge area in the main office where continental breakfast is served. Really big gooey muffins and orange juice and really good stuff. rooms/cabins were super clean and comfortable. large campfire circle down by the lake with beautiful views. Close to old forge but out of the way. I would recommend this place to anyone. 10/10
Emailed 10 days prior to arrival to cancel reservation and was told I needed to pay full amount. I tried to find someone to take the reservation but was unsuccessful. Emailed hotel again a couple of days before the arrival date to try to get refund and never got an email back. Don’t book this hotel. There is no flexibility with their 14 day cancellation policy even during Covid Delta spike.
My family and I had the opportunity to enjoy the amazing hospitality and phenomenal food of Great Pines on our last day of vacation. Brita and her staff are beyond accommodating, making my husband and my children (ages 4 and 6) feel comfortable. The food was incredible, with tremendous attention to detail. I loved that they did not have a kids menu, allowing us to choose for our children a real meal, rather than a hot dog or pizza and fries. The wine list was very well chosen, providing options for both white and red wine lovers at reasonable prices for a restaurant. The ambiance was warm and inviting, not pretentious. The entire dining experience is something to be rivaled and neither my husband or I could think of a place in our city that has the same combination of service and exquisite food that Great Pines does.I look forward to visiting again and staying in their lodges. Thank you, Brita for the wonderful experience - you have a great place.
This is a beautiful place! The setting could not be better. Its sits right on the lake. The rooms are well thought out, the main lodge area is so cute and comfortable and there is always a dog running around 🐶The casual lean torestaurant has fabulous, reasonable food that looks out over the lake. They also have formal dining. I will definitely be back!
Beautiful setting on 4th lake. My husband worked there during summers when he was in college 30 years ago, and they have done a fabulous job on renovating the main building. The bar was the only source of food and drink at the end of October. Staff there could have been friendlier. Our cabin was clean and comfortable.
Awesome place to stay in the Adirondacks, we had dinner last night at the Lodge and it was fantastic. We also stopped by the more Casual Lean to Restaurant next door and the bartender and drinks were terrific. I highly recommend the Great Pines Resort. This was our second visit during Fall foilage, we also enjoyed our stay during the Summer.
4 star hotel is pushing it. Easily a 3 star experience, and a vastly overpriced one at that. The lake view was nice, but a bit awkward since you had to stand in front of the window rather than see it from the bed. Not to mention random people walking literally right next to my lake facing window...block that area off, will you? Having paid extra for the view, last thing I wanna worry about is being seen naked by a rando and his dog every evening. Though the location and scenery is spectacular, the rooms are in a bit of disrepair. Dirty carpet with ends fraying out, small tight bathrooms, few amenities. Hotel doesnt even provide shower gel, only generic bar soap. In room phone didnt work at all, not to mention there is no room service. The pictures on the websites are quite misleading. The food served at their high end restaurant was delicious however. Not a bad place, but most certainly NOT 4 star experience, only 4 star price.
We paid for a lake front room which didn’t have any chairs on the porch opposed to other rooms. Only 50% of the lightbulbs worked. One of the main windows didn’t open as there wasn’t a screen. Lots of spiders in the room. Fairly small shower. Couldn’t see the tv from the second bed.
One of the most amazing and cost effective hotels on the Fulton Chain. I would highly recommend trying on the off-season as well if you have the opportunity. The views are spectacular, the food is excellent, and the decorations make the Great Pines Resort a place of Adirondack comfort and tradition. If you have the opportunity to stay for an extended stay or an entire week, I highly recommend it. This unique Adirondack resort offers everything from cozy rooms, to savory snacks and even dock-space.
Thank you guys for a great stay.My wife and I needed a rest. The staff here is very welcoming, very nice people. I really enjoyed coming out at night and looking at the stars they are so bright and you can even see the milky way. The lean to is a great place to have a meal and after lounge about by the lake .
Great Pines has a beautiful lodge with exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail. The lodge stair rail is exquisite. The plaster work in our room was done by an old school master craftsman. The architecture is only exceeded by the friendly staff and the exceptional view of the lake. The resort exudes a sense of calm and relaxation. You can find a comfortable chair on the lodge porch, the boat dock, or the lookout and feel your stress abate. There are kayaks, canoes, a peddle paddle boat for nautical adventures. The trail to Bald Mountain Lookout Tower is a short drive, hike, or bike away. Stunning views of the lakes area are available along the trail and from the tower. With the on-site restaurant, the great staff, the beautiful, comfortable lodging at Great Pines you may find yourself feeling like we did and not want to leave.
Scenery was the definition of RELAXATION. Staff rating is a perfect 10. We checked in and I had a concern which was addressed in 2 minutes with an easy room swap solution. Kids enjoyed jumping off the swim dock and feeding the ducks. Assortment of breakfast muffins were warm and mouthwatering. Only request that my kids mentioned a few times would be a pool. We all enjoyed our stay.
Big fan of the Lean-To restaurant. Beautiful views. I was a fan of our hostess, she really set the tone for the evening. She was very helpful and made me and my friend comfortable eating in a new place. Everything else was good as well. I would say 5/5 on the views. 5/5 on the hostess. 5/5 on the wings (AMAZING). 3/5 on the Philly Burger. 4/5 on everyone else working. 10/10 experience.
Formerly the North Woods Inn, this resort was taken over about three years ago by a young couple with ties to the region. The interior of the Lodge has been beautifully refurbished by craftsmen working with native materials for a warm, inviting feel. There are two dining venues, the Lodge Restaurant for high end cuisine, and the Lean-To, for casual food. We tried both and were delighted by the food and service. The French fries at the Lean-To are unique! There is plenty of docking space for boaters. Our room was small but updated.
The location is beautiful. The owners have fixed up the grounds as well as the rooms and buildings themselves. They look great! I had a tomato grilled cheese sandwich for lunch that was OK. My husband had a burger that was delicious. The service was great, the server was very attentive. We walked aro7nf the grounds and stopped into the lodge...the hotel clerk was very friendly and answered all of our questions. I would recommend this place to others.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t even a stay. About 3 weeks prior to my reservation I was told I could donate my money, reschedule or get a refund. I requested a refund and still went on the trip, just to find out they charged ME a cancellation fee(when they really cancelled) and when I was in ADK they were open. Horrible customer service, took 2 weeks, 2-3 emails to even get a response about my refund and when was I charged the cancellation fee. When family comes next time they will NOT stay at “the best voted by life magazine,” GreatPines, because it’s not.
Ask questions before you book....Have stayed here several times over the years ..was just ready to book for over $800.00 for a 3 day stay only to be told that they charge an additional $25.00 per day for the use of their dock (bringing along my 16 foot boat)...I fine that to be a little unusual to charge your own guest...seems like more of a deterrent..most others on the water provide it free for guests. .so we wont be staying here again with the boat, just feel like they are being a little greedy. ..shop around found a very very nice 4.5 star place less money and FREE docking...good luck folks.
I was eagerly anticipating a lovely two night stay just before Thanksgiving, only to arrive and find that the restaurant was not open this time of year, and being only one of two total guests on property, there would be no lovely fire lit in the fireplace, little option for breakfast on-site on Saturday morning and nothing on Sunday morning. To top it off an unexpected snow over the weekend left the driveway onto the property a bit tough to exit as the uphill driveway was plowed, but not recent enough to make it easy to traverse. I revisited the website to see if I had missed any notice about seasonal services (restaurant), and found nothing. Would love to have given this a 4 or 5 star, but really cant.
Overall really bad. Sorry to see that the rating cannot go any lower. Avoid at all cost. The view of the lake is good depending on the room you have. The main problem is the filth you will find in your room. There is no cleaning service, point. I went to take a shower in my room only to discover that the previous tenant left a filthy surprise in the toilet. God know how long it was there. All the drains were clogged with hair and there were signs that nobody did any dusting in the room for a long time since we could find cobweb everywhere.
I really cany say enough great things about Great Pines and their wonderful staff. They have done an amazing job with this place and it is truly a great getaway from the real world. I took my then girlfriend there for Labor Day weekend to propose and they worked with me to ensure it would be the perfect moment we would never forget. They were accommodating and went out of their way to make sure the moment was special. This is our 2nd year staying at Great Pines and I can confidently say we will be making this a yearly (or more) trip. Clean and updated rooms, 2 restaurants to choose from, access to canoes/kayaks and best of all they are very dog friendly. We cant wait to come back!
Luxurious room and well appointed. The bed was comfortable beyond compare. Soft, plenty of pillows, feathersoft sheets. Room came with a Samsung flat screen TV and a Keurig coffee pot. The one major complain was the bathroom. It was far below quality. Cracked and broken toilet seat in our room, small shower and what looked like a hand made sink pedestal of poor quality. The floor was old and the outlet was barely in the wall. You would expect a nicer bathroom for what they were charging a night. While the booking sites list an in ground pool it was closed and not useable. The on site free continental breakfast was mediocre. The sleeping area of our room was wonderful but other aspects left to be desired.
Food was just ok. Seemed rather premade. Had some good appetizers, the fried green tomatoes and poutine were delicious. We all got drinks and every one of them seemed watered down. We brought it up with the waiter and they replaced them all with wine and beer. Wait staff was very nice.
Pretty mad about this place actually. Lots of false advertisement going on. It says there’s a pool but upon arriving was told by the front desk person that “it will probably never be opened again” with no apology or anything. Continental breakfast consists of snack sized stale danishes and a bowl of apples.”Free wifi” doesn’t work in the rooms. Bathroom is almost unusable it’s so small. Toilet is so close to the wall you can barely sit down. These rooms are not cheap and it’s pretty maddening to not get what we thought we were paying for.
5 💫stars for dinner at both of their restaurantsBut 2 💫stars for the rooms that are really disappointing. 2💫 stars for the complimentary breakfast they serve with seating set up for only 6 guests (two tables with seating for 3). Too many times during ( 3 day stay) breakfast I found myself looking for staff to replenish either coffee, cutlery or muffins. Everyone sits all over the place eating with breakfast on their laps since 6 seats for an entire resort is just wrong. Sorta sad and confusing since they have an entire dining room feet away but close it off during breakfast.
I have to start by saying the location and scenery at this motel are excellent. Northwoods overlooks a lake and the views are superb! Besides the location the place is a dump . The rooms are filthy ,outdated and frankly not worth the $130.00 a night for a standard . My truck was backed into in the parking lot not 20 minutes after our arrival when my sister went to get the hotel owner he was hanging out at the bar and was annoyed that his happy hour was interupted . He did not have much concern over what happened and I felt it was very unprofessional for a hotel owner to be sitting at the bar drinking and not at the front desk . Even upon check out this guy had an attitude , he didnt thank us for the business or even apologize for our inconvenience . I failed to mention he directed me to park where I did behind a row of cars where I got hit ! Regardless there are plenty of other motels to stay at in Old Forge besides this one. Its a shame because as I said earlier the location is excellent !
Just returned from what was suppose to be a nice get away. I purchased a a weekend package for Groupon. I will think twice about it next time. The snow covered mountains was the best part of our stay. I took pictures that is how bad the room was. Everytime I went to the office to let her know how bad it was I got I will let the maintance man know about it. But according to last years reviews nothing has changed. The shower ceiling is covered in mold. Under the sink in the bathroom is covered in mold. The toilet seat is approx. 20 yrs old. I found a cord coming from the juccuzi tub ( I assume it came from the motor) plugging into an extension cord that also has the lights and clock radio plugged in. Then behind the refrigerator we found another extension cord with the tv, microwave, and refrigerator all plugged in together. The molding around the front door was pulling away the nails were out about an inch, eye height to me. An accident waiting to happen. Now for the resturant, The food was good but I didnt enjoy eating with my coat on in the cold. They were trying to heat the place with a pallet stove. Even the bartender was wearing his coat along with the few other people in there. This could be a nice place to visit if they worked on the up keeping. They really need to fix the electrical in the rooms. Please think twice about booking your vacation.
The place is a hit and miss , somedays the staff is happy somedays they re not and they will male sure to let u know , one time i had to walk in the kitchen and ask for someone to help us becaud we were there for 20 min with no luck , and one time the bartender was so nasty i was going to punch him and leave , honestly i wont recomand it unless u re ready tp be abused .
Do not believe anything on there website. Its nothing like it and they have no one here running the place and there is no services, not even housekeeping. Place is filthy gross, nothing works. What a disappointment, so stay far away from this place and maybe they will get the point that this is an unacceptable way to run a busines.

2022-05-01My boyfriend and I had planned to hike in the Indian Lake area with our two dogs and were looking for a place where we could shower. Britta was extremely friendly and gave us a great price on a room on very short notice. Being shoulder season, none of the on-premise restaurants were open, which she made sure to point out when I spoke with her. Our room was neat, clean, and cozy. The bathroom was well stocked and clean as well. There is quite a bit of construction going on around the grounds, which isnt terribly attractive but better to do that in the off-season. Beautiful views of Fourth Lake from the main lodge. Easy to get to Old Forge, Inlet, Eagle Bay, and Indian Lake. Would stay here again, especially knowing they accept dogs.

2022-05-16Cleaning service doesnt do a solid checklist. The view is amazing and the rooms have solid themes to them. Wires are unkept and there is unfinished wood placed in the bathrooms. Outlet tangs are unusable. The beds are awesome. So cool, Paul Bunyan vibe to them. AC unit is very loud. You can open the windows if need be. Front desk is very knowledgeable of the town.

2022-05-08Everything about our stay was excellent. I seldom rate anything 5 stars, but this was great. It was a nice change of pace with a relaxing cabin vibe. Room was clean and updated. Service was friendly and responsive. I cant wait to come again this summer during the regular season. Great job all around.

2021-11-09I dont even know where to begin - this place is unreal. Brita, Devlin, and Hannah know what makes the Adirondacks so special, and they package it up and help you create the most beautiful wedding of your dreams. I was married this September and everything was perfection. The food, staff, vibes, property, and accommodations all exceeded expectations and then some. Dont pass up the after party in the lean-to, it was my FAVORITE part of the whole night. All of my guests reiterated many times that is was the best wedding they have ever been to, and there are so many reasons for that. The effort Great Pines puts into your special day is unmatched. You wont get a run-of-the-mill wedding factory type of experience, everything is so personal which makes it extra special. If you can dream it, they can make it happen. No detail is forgotten - you have to see the dreamy-ness for yourself. Whether it is a vacation or a wedding, you cant go wrong with Great Pines - get your Pinterest board ready!!

2021-06-26WOW is an understatement, everything about Great Pines is magical for those looking for a rustic yet fun getaway in the mountains. Its a beautiful lakefront property with kayaks for usage and beautiful docks. I stayed in room 5, would highly recommend staying in the main lodge upstairs as it overlooks the beautiful lake. Truly a memorable experience, thanks to the amazing owners and friendly staff. The bed was also super comfortable and they have great coffee in the morning. Im already excited to return and I just left today. Would highly recommend for a couple, solo, or family getaway! Tons of trails nearby, and locally owned restaurants.

2021-08-26Very overrated and not worth the money. Half the balcony is taped off with yellow construction tape and off limits to customers. The lobby is very unwelcoming along with the woman behind the desk. I brought my family of five in the lobby to check out the rustic rooms within the lobby and she seemed very annoyed that we were there. The lobby looks shut down with no lighting and a completely empty bar, it basically looks like the place is out of business during the week. I just thought with spending $330 a night I could use and check out all the amenities this place has to offer, however, there are none. Regarding the rooms, they were very small as the website is misleading in terms of the size of the rooms. Also, we had a water front room with no red Adirondack chairs available to us, however, the pictures on website show otherwise. If you want ice, you need to take the huge plastic laundry bags and take them to the woman at the front desk who then goes to some back room to fill the bag with ice because the restaurant is closed during the week ands she mentioned that the plastic bags they ordered did not end up arriving to the hotel. Paint was peeling in the bathroom and the phone did not work, no dial tone and could charge my cell phone with the charging station attached to the landline phone. Do yourself a favor, stay down the street at the Waters Edge Inn for a quarter of the price, same views and lovely staff.

2021-04-29We stayed a few nights for our anniversary with our 2 dogs mid-April 2021. To say that this place is “pet friendly” is an understatement and our pups had an absolute blast! And, considering that pets are allowed on premises, we were absolutely amazed with how spotlessly clean our room was. The staff was friendly, professional, and accommodating. They perfectly balanced both giving us our privacy while simultaneously making sure that all our needs were met and that our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Sunsets on the lake were romantically serene.Despite our stay being in the transitional “mud season” for the region, the staff was immensely helpful in informing us of which local restaurants and businesses were still open. We highly recommend Great Pines Lodge to any outdoor enthusiast, anyone traveling with pets, or any person or couple who wants to relax in a quiet and comforting environment.

2021-08-20Spent the weekend at Great Pines with friends for an anniversary party. Everything and everyone was fantastic! The party and meal was done very well and staying the weekend was so nice! The employees and owners care and work hard for the guests to have relaxing stay. Can’t wait to get back!
