Clean, not crowded. My one complaint/suggestion is something Ive seen at the SLC airport, they have a place to remind/allow you to dump your water bottle out before you enter TSA. At this airport, they just let you forget, go through, and waste everyones time as they search your bag for the forbidden items. Since they discarded ours, it was fortunate that we just had disposable bottles with us -- it would have been worse if we had been carrying expensive water bottles. Also, people shouldnt be made to feel like criminals just for being human.Side note: I honestly feel sorry for TSA employees. They seem like the grumpiest people Ive ever encountered. It really makes travel unenjoyable. Airlines try their best to make travel as pleasant as possible, but it seems like TSA does the opposite.
Nice little airport to fly in or out of. Though it is on the smaller side, it has great amneties and easy gate access to get you on your way. The facility is well maintained and getting through security is a breeze. The layout is convenient for checking in and getting to your gate. The employees are friendly and eager to assist if you have any questions. There is a dunkin for coffee, a restaurant /bar and small shop with books, drinks, snacks, gifts ect after you go through security. Tge only downside is that you will most likely need a connecting flight to get to you destination, but that can be fun as you get to check out another airport (as long as you have ample layover time!)Parking can be a bit tricky as the longerm lot can fill up, but as long as you give yourself time you will be fine.Already looking forward to the next time I get to fly from here.
A series of unfortunate events led to this being one of 3 layovers in one day. Despite this, ROC was such a sigh of relief from the hectic atmosphere of airports in larger cities. If I were a Rochester citizen, I would be honored to have this as my home airport. The Subway employees were great.
I landed on time around midnight. I was counting on help moving my luggage from the luggage bin to the street. No baggage handlers were available nor were there any carts handy. I understand that personnel may be occupied or unavailable, but why not have push carts available. In some airports they are even free. Maybe one of the numerous advertisers could donate carts and have them marked courtesy of xxx. Not everyone travels with just a carry on, or just one checked bag.The new airport facility is cheap plastic with even fake plants; a real insult to Flower City. The message is clear that the legacy of Flour City and Flower City is fake hype. We can do better...
Our trip to The Rochester airport was not part of the original plan but due to winter storm flight rescheduling we had a 5 hour layover. Overall, the experience at the airport restaurants was great. The food and drinks were above average for a restaurant and they had arcade games that kept our attention while we waited. The down fall of the experience was the lack of care and attention given in transitioning our bags from one plane to the next. I happened to check the Delta app and saw that one bag had been sent to baggage claim. I brought that to the attention of the employee at the Delta terminal we were assigned to and he did his best to get that bag from baggage claim and onto our flight. That bag made it on our flight fine. However, when our 1st bag took a detour, I decided to pay close attention to our 2nd bag. 10 minutes before our flight our 2nd bag was not scanned onto the plane. I brought this to the employee’s attention and again he did his best. He then assured me that there were no other bags in the area from which the baggage workers were supposed to be retrieving bags from. This information was based on information he received from another employee working with the luggage, I’m assuming. I confirmed with a flight attendant that our 2nd bag had not been scanned onto the plan and she simply told me they were still loading the plane. No surprise when we land in LaGuardia our 2nd bag is missing. We filed a claim at the baggage center and were told the bag would be delivered to us on our vacation. Well our vacation ended and the bag never left Rochester. While on vacation I attempted to call Delta multiple times and sat in hold for multiple hours, waited for texts and was only able to get updates on the bag being in the baggage office. Traveling from Florida to NYC requires clothing layers that we never had access to because our bag never showed up. I never planned on visiting Rochester and now, have no desire to after this.
Terrible, JetBlue flight cancelled. No notification on the boards, over the pa system or at the check in counter. We were told later that they could have rescheduled later in the evening, but chose to cancel instead! Missed day 1 of a 7 day vacation! Same thing the next day on our rescheduled flights, day 2 missed. Rescheduled again, but this time on day 4 of our trip! Same communication issues! Decided to cancel the whole trip. 24 house later, I am sitting on a flight leaving from Toronto to the same destination, no issues at all!
This is one of the easiest airports to get through. Getting through security is so fast and convenient and couldn’t be more pleased. It’s an absolutely beautiful building with modern and unique design. it’s pretty low key, not a lot of people traveling in or out of here, or so it seems. They have a kids play area, restaurant options, and chargers at the seats. plus, my flight actually left on time from this airport! Yay!
Im a big fan of Rochesters airport. Its not too busy, and the security lines are never long, but its still a well kept and very updated airport. They just remodeled and updated the main entrance way after you go through security, and added a lounge, some sculptures, a strong museum exhibit with a lot of video games and a big retro video game, lots of outlets, and tablets one can use. Big upgrades for 2020. Only knock on it is that there were sparrows flying around while I was there.
I travel a lot for work, and I had to travel to Rochester for work.It looks like this airport was just updated. All the finishes and signage are very nice. There were some nice food spots too. It’s not too busy of an airport from what I could tell and security lines were quick. Everyone I interacted with were kind and professional. My flight still took of in time during a snow storm. We did need to get de-iced too.
This sucks.been here since 7.30 this morning and its now 3.30 in the afternoon for an allegiant direct flight to sanford and plane stilled delayed.first its delay.delay.delay then they say ok we will give u $50 voucher and get us something to eat n drink..NOPE NOT A DAM THING AND STILL WAITING FOR A FLIGHT WE WERE Suppose be there at noon.n wont arrive till late.Allegiant needs burkley from channel to visit them😡

I have been flying in and out of the more excellent Rochester international airport since I was a small child. They seem always to get you through the gates quickly, is very clean, has excellent food selection for vendors inside the airport, and very rarely have delays that will hold up your trip
If I could vote -0 stars I would. This airport is HORRIBLE The employees were beyond rude. My shoes that are extremely expensive were damaged during security. Due to the fact the guy would not let me put my shoes in a bin. I asked twice , I cant put my shoes in a bin? And he instructed loudly “on the table” twice and nothing more. . I am beyond livid and I’ve never had an airport tell me I can’t put my shoes in a bin. They were in prestige condition and now they have scuffs all over.
My first time at the airport picking someone up. Never been on a plane so you will not get any comments about that other than the fact the only wings I will be flying are the ones in heaven! The airport was very quiet nothing like you see on television. The person I picked up lost a bag but they were extremely courteous took her in formation explain to her that it would be FedEx to her the most convenient address and if it was not returned she would be reimbursed. I find out hard for the airports to make any kind of money should this happen to almost everybody that comes and goes. Looking forward to seeing how this actually pans out.
Its good to be home. Efficiently run airport. Smelled like a belt was burning in the baggage claim carousel area. Easy pick up and drop off area. Its a small airport, but good enough for our size market. Doesnt have the amenities of a hub, but really doesnt need them. It works for us.
Ok, so Im comparing this to Raleigh Durham... Rochester is a dream of an airport! Its obviously smaller, with only a smidgen of the traffic of a larger airport, but they have their swarms of travelers & still always seem to know how best to make sure everyone gets where they need to be on time! Ive traveled through this airport on numerous occasions & always gotten to my gate not only on time, but with time to spare! On top of all of that, theyve had numerous updates that have just made an already awesome airport that much better!Updating this review years later & I still love this airport. They just did a big renovation that I finally got to experience post pandemic (well, its not over, but better...?). Ive always had a great experience flying out of or to ROC. Just flew into the new New Orleans Airport & it made me miss ROC!
This is a great airport especially for families traveling with little ones. They have a small contained kids play area on each terminal plus a semi private room with chair and CLEAN baby changing area at entrance to ladies room. Not a ton to choose from as far as food but for a small airport it has a lot of nice perks.
Definitely had a remodel and some nice aesthetic upgrades since Ive been here last. The staff is always friendly and helpful, and the airport itself is very easy to navigate through as well as get in and out of. Most importantly, its very close to so many things here in Rochester, which makes your pre and post flight plans a lot easier.
Came from from cali with my fam of 5 and battery wouldnt start on my car. Someone came to vehicle within 10 minutes to jump my vehicle. You have no idea how happy and grateful we all are. There are still good people in the world. This happened December 3rd between 11pm and midnight. A true blessing thank you sir
I arrived to ROC 15 minutes before my flight boarded. Checked my bags which took 2 minutes and got through security in 10 minutes. I casually walked to my gate and checked out a display for the Kids Museum of Play which took 1 minute and 48 seconds. Majority of my experiences with ROC have been easy, quick and pleasant. Unfortunately there are not a lot of direct flights to and from ROC so you are at the mercy of your connections.Pros:- Helpful and Friendly staff and agents- Security is a breeze to get through- Small Airport (Gates are close together and generally not a lot of people)Cons:- Food Selection ( Garbage Plates are not a good idea for a 2 hour flight)- Direct Flight Selection- Small Airport (Potentially leads to longer lines due to security lane closures especially on Sundays)Overall: If you are running late and scared you might miss your flight due to traffic or long lines have no fear. Give yourself 35 minutes before your boarding time and you we be fine. For a smaller airport they are the fastest and most efficient that I have been to.
Traffic is easier since the site improvement. The lighting is better near the airport too. The free cell phone lot is a very good thing to have when youre waiting for someone to arrive. Just remember you will need to drive all the way around the airport to get to it after you get off from 390.
Ive been traveling through Rochester airport for my whole life, almost yearly for the last 20 years. Its a very nice clean and bright airport, simple to navigate, and they even have free video games from the museum of Play. Its small, so the food choices are limited, but small also means short wait times.
Looks a lot prettier than it did before. I came here about 3 years ago when renovations had begun. This time around, its all complete. Very colorful decor and screams happy. I also saw more restaurant choices as compared to before. Will see how the security is when I come back for my return flight..
Easy in and out. I also had car rental. It was a quick process. Except check everything before you drive off. Gas for example they tell you bring back full. Well upon start up below last quarter. Of course I went back and told counter person. They were going to give me another car went computer crashed because lights in terminal flickered. Way to go RG&E! Told her just credit car to be returned at same spot not full. She told me I was good to go. Well see how rest of trip goes.
If I hadnt seen other airports like a Chicago OHara, or Phoenix Sky Harbor I wouldnt realize how rather boring this airport is. I would have taken pictures, but there really wasnt anything worth taking pictures of. It needs a redo with some wow factor. One small bar and one small store is not wow.
If you are handicapped, better hope you can find a good spot or you can afford the garage...cos there is no more shuttle! I had not known they stopped that. They need to make more handicap spots in the economy lot closer to the terminal. Or maybe discount the garage for handicap til the shuttle returns.
Love the renovations!! Getting around the airport is a breeze & food and amenities are sufficient for the amount of time you are in the facility. Would have given it 5 stars - but the water in the restroom trickled out of the faucet & wasnt very hot - not very sanitary ☹️.
It was good. Luggage was available upon arrival! No snow or crowds, clean,, and with available arrentive security. More people should say hello, welcome, or greet with at least a smile. I was only greeted by the security as I exited the building.. Basic skills taught to children, walmart greeters, etc
Melvin Mack and Officer Alexandra Keller are the key to a pleasant experience I had at ROC. Melvin cleans like the airport is his own house. Officer Keller keeps her uniform in top form and is very personable. I wouldn’t be surprised if she was the one who quietly let her Captain know his shirt was untucked ;)
Well defined entrance and exit routes for this airport. We picked up a family member her with great ease.A very clean facility with some interesting exhibits. Baggage handling proved excellent. Parking was convenient. Overall, I highly recommend flying in and out of this airport.
Very nice airport. Recently updated. Only two terminals and 2 levels. They do have a cellphone lot to wait to pick up passengers. No standing or stopping in front. Access is easy, plenty of parking both long term and shirt term parking (paid). Small food area. Was just renamed Frederick Douglas Rochester International Airport although currently there are no international flights. Towered with ATC 24/7, excellent fire department. Patrolled continuously by the Monroe County Sheriff.
Greater Rochester International Airport will not be changing its name. We are keeping it the way it is. The TSA security does an awesome job getting me screened and gets me in and out of it. Very fast check in. Very happy with the restaurants and services. The color of the airline door changes to green when boarding and turns red when the Jetway door closes after we board and turns white when no is boarding. The airport makes me feel safe, secure, and happy, and makes me feel at home. Everything is awesome at our airport. I am part of the job explorers post group 1200 with Chief Kevin Bardeen the first Wednesday of every month. This airport can become very busy sometimes and non busy depending on what hours people come in to fly out of Rochester NY for either getaway vacations, work, or holiday travels.
Your average small regional airport. Clean, easy to navigate, short security lines. Full body x-rays are in use, and agents were giving quick pat downs in addition to nearly everyone (typical security theatre) but the agents did not require my camera and liquids to be unpacked. Rental car area was easy to find and not a long walk. Food and shopping options are limited, but I was able to find a healthy lunch. Some nice artwork and exhibits. Gate area seating is a bit outdated and uncomfortable, and outlets for charging devices are hard to come by.
Very good customer service, friendly and easy to talk to. I traveled through with some antique items, got flagged at security for a cuckoo clock. Security personnel asked a few questions, and quickly inspected my bag but were extremely careful as to how everything was packaged to help ensure safe travels of my fragile items. Traveling with family heirlooms is stressful enough, it was a significant sigh of relief to be shown such consideration.
Love this airport and the recent renovations. Minus one star due to the absolutely abysmal service at the Flight Deck Diner. The server got our order wrong, charged us for a side we didnt order, and was unapologetic about her mistakes. Wouldnt be a huge deal at a normal restaurant/diner, but we were trying to make a flight and her lackadaisical attitude toward getting our order straight made us almost miss our flight. I hope they raise their service standards to reflect the many awesome Rochester diners theyre supposed to represent!
Very nice for a small airport.Very easy to get around in with a nicely centralized food area between the two terminals.Parking is also decent. As you come down to baggage claim, they even had a person directing folks to which airlines use which carousels. Nice touch. The negatives?Security area is small and not well equipped for peak crowds. Expect long lines during times like graduation weekends when families flood the airport.Rental car return is not manned for early drop off times as this is a small airport.
A very clean and easy to navigate airport. There are LEDs that change based on the gate status; non-boarding, boarding, emergency, etc. The concourses directions for where to go for departures and arrivals are very simple. The pickup area is right next to the baggage claim, alleviating the need to go on a shuttle or other means of transportation just to leave the airport properly. Overall service is fantastic and would recommend flying through here.
Seems like they are always remodeling or repairing the airport. Upper roadway closed for departures. Sounds like it is being repaired again. The new canopy sheds the snow on the sidewalk below and get barricaded in the winter. All this and one still walks in the rain to go to rental cars in the garage. In spite of flaws, airport employees and airline staff are hard working and friendly. It is an easy airport to use.
A large tax investment went into ‘improvements”. I admit there are pretty lights, but that’s the only improvement. The expensive awning doesn’t keep snow out, we experienced two years of construction inconvenience for nothing, they now regularly send gate checked baggage to the carousel on nice weather days where the flights for the carousel are mislabeled, there is less parking, their gate cameras don’t work , and United pulled the most convenient flights. The positive reviews here are pretty much because it is a small airport with less flights. I’m not sure that’s a reason for a positive review.
This airport is small and easy to navigate. Most airports want you there an hour before boarding, here I got through everything including rental return in 15 minutes. I cant say how well that would go during busy times but as small as it is I bet you can cut it closer and still make it.A good amount of neat shops to pick from that all smell good and even a kids play place for those with toddlers which is very smart.
This 1 star rating is solely based on the inability to have a decent baggage claim. The airport was just renovated, and yet, the baggage claim facilities remain the very same as theyve always been. Getting bags is incredibly slow and painful, for me returning from Chicago, it took 50 minutes for our bags to come out. The nearby screens display either flight data, or depressing cancer ads. While I support the good work of the U of R health system and the good work they do, the last thing i want to see after 5+ hours of traveling is constant replays of people getting cancer diagnoses. Staff in baggage claim and associated office have had a tendency to be unpleasant as well. As a native Rochesterian, Im frankly embarrassed of my airport.
Horrible customer service my family went from Atlanta to New York at Atlanta we did not have a boarding pass but we got one and went to New York but then when we were coming back to Atlanta we did not have a ticket even if we just fly to new york from Atlanta and we had to pay for a new ticket so bad just so bad
Usually a very fast checkin. De-icing planes is usually the only hold up here. They have several eating options there including Subway and coffee shops. Vending machines are there. The airport is not super handicap friendly. Between the snow that is there 6 months a year and the two floors there it is not very handicap friendly. They have a long term parking lot there and one across the street with shuttle service.
My family and I went through hassle at this airport. Every employee was incredibly rude, none of the employees were correctly wearing masks, where there was clearly many “Please use facial coverings” signs. Not impressed and will not be going through this airport again.
Im a little torn on this one. The staff Ive encountered (Delta and United airlines) were honestly really friendly and helpful. However, my bag was completely destroyed here. If you have a cheap or fabric suitcase, youre in for a bad time. When the nice girls saw the baggage and asked us what happened we explained that it happened there and they literally taped up our bag to try and help make sure the damage didnt spread. It sucks that the suitcase is so severely damaged, but the kind people almost made up for it. Even the TSA agents were really friendly and quick, which was nice because we accidentally got here with 5 minutes to spare for boarding. When we checked our bag in they actually called back to the plane to tell them we were on our way and not to leave without us (which was so nice because we were leaving for our honeymoon).
I love flying from Rochester! The airport is so clean, bright, and easy. The people who work there are incredibly patient and helpful. I would say it is one of the best airports I have ever been to and I’ve actually been to a lot. Thanks Rochester Airport for being awesome!
A smaller airport, but it doesnt feel like it, except in the way of restaurants. There is only one security check point, at door B. I will advise that if you are taking a late night flight to get there early as security closes at like 9pm. Airport is clean but the wifi is just barely usable in terms of speed and connectivity.
This airport is totally inept. We live in a snow belt and deicing a plane delays takeoff for over an hour!? You have to arrive two hours early (4 am) for the extremely slow TSA lines...then you board the plane 30 minutes before scheduled takeoff and the final insult is that you then sit on the tarmac for another hour and 20 minutes. Oh...whats that? ...not done yet...Now the pilot announces that they ran out of deicing fluid and have to get another truck.Whats next? The flight crew is out of hours? The plane needs fuel? No possible way to make a connecting flight. The airport manager is asleep at the switch if he cant hold the ground crew accountable for keeping planes on time.
Worst experience ever. Every time I flight with AA is always a problem. The flight took a lot of time to departure. The A/C was very bad, before departure really hot and during the flight very cold. They didnt have hot water available so you couldnt drink tea or coffee. They did not have any coffee available. They make us wait for our carry on in the jet trail. It was really cold. It ruined my day
As someone who has slept in airports many-a-time and been kicked out of the safe gate areas at most American airports, Id have to say Rochester ROCs airport was quite conducive to a comfortable overnight stay!! Couches (without sleeper deterrents ie vertical slats/bars to prevent lying down) & warm temperatures on the upper level. The security guard on duty even checked in on me to make sure he had a count of how many people were spending the night at the airport (just me). Even got a free blanket from a helpful baggage claim agent!Other comments: Not much for food options. No USO lounge. No public transportation to the airport for early flights (Ubers/Lyft unreliable).
I have traveled twice in the past 6 months, I need a wheelchair for the distance from the ticket counter to the gate and return. When traveling through other airports the wheelchair is waiting at the gate without having to call. They kindly transport me to the next stop on my trip. When in Rochester the wheelchair is late, or not present at all. The one trip I was told that it was too late for a wheelchair! What if I truly could not walk at all, how is someone to deal with this situation. As much as I like Rochester airport being small and easily navigable now that I need a wheelchair I am concerned that services will not be available for me.
As a professional traveler it is always nice to see airports refreshing their environs. This airport is in the midsts of a major renovation but what it is MISSING is a BOTTLE REFILL station. As a prior infection control person refill stations reduce the transmission of germs by filtering the water, allowing a distance between the faucet head and the bottle, and they are good for the environment. Now is the time to be green and add something that is beneficial to everyone.
This updated airport has a lot to offer. From New seating areas to little game areas, it has lots to keep you occupied. Theres video trivia and even twister! This airport is also equipped for the hearing impaired with telecoil availability and visual cues at the gates to indicate boarding announcements, and inactive ones. A far cry from the dinky, outdated ROC!
First off I have to say this is one of the best small airports and United States. I have flown almost in every state and I have seen different situations. My son took flight lessons here also last year with great experience that he learned. For all of you who only voted one star blame the weather not the airport. The icing is vital to your life if you do not let them take time to deice the planes with delay, you will not live. All these things are in precautions. For those of you who waiting for United Lounge, thats coming because they are under construction now, and redoing the whole airport. I fly out and in every month so I can keep this up to date. just keep a good overview for our Greater Rochester area. We have a wonderful Control Tower with people who work in them with one of the hardest jobs in the world. I know because my NAVY son was training to be a tower controller. 20 hours on 4 hours off. Try it try it for a month and see how you can deal with that. Its hard. Im seeing Soo many issues with other airports lately. And airlines, especially Southwest airlines. Lets not complain about Rochester.
The United supervisor needs to be replaced by a polite one. The rude and unprofessional attitude that allows her to speak disrespectfully better change. The staff of United are nice, but that one with the initial i is ruining their image.Out of my 9 times, I experienced 8 delays whenever I flew In or out of the Greater Roc Airport. Considering the small size of that airport... Not impressive.
I love our airport! It is very easy to navigate. The employees are pleasant. And I was in awe to see the Clocks Of The World there! I had not seen it in years. It stood for over 50 years at the former Midtown Plaza. But I digress. Did I say I love our airport? Oh yeah I did! You have to see it to believe it!
Had a flight at 6am got on the plane sat there an hour then told theres a problem with the plane had us get of the plane told us to board another plane started to board was told no overbooked. .so still at the airport at 10am told I may get on one of 3 flights but they dont know yet is a wait and see might even have the plane fixed soon but dont know when you show your frustration the lady at the gate snapped well it broke what do you expect. ..um well not an attitude after 5 hours of being here and a flight to my destination would be nice or at the least a full answer not this maybe youll fly this or maybe this I have a handful of different flight tickets to everywhere. .American airlines and rochester airport needs to get their act together. ..Im going through buffalo. .
Rochester its one off my favorite Airports to fly in and out of. Convenient off of route 390 for easy access. The airport is large enough to have most carriers and convenient flight times, but small enough to easily navigate, especially with children. Security moves fast and has a TSA Pre check line for frequent travelers. There are sufficient food options if you want to grab a quick bite before your flight.
Review is not for airport as a whole just for the staff of United. Alyssa in particular. Who gave the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Had a flight on April 25th and went to the kiosk to check in with my friend I was flying with. Right off the bat she was nasty and had a horrible attitude and you could tell she did not want to be there. We both put our bags on the scale, and apparently the opposite screen shows the weight for the opposite bag, which we did not know, nor did she tell us. All she kept saying was “your bags overweight”. When we asked who she said me and then her and her friend began laughing at me and Alyssa clapped her hands in my face while shaking her head and rolling her eyes. Then her friend leaned over and said while laughing “she’s talking to you, she’s been trying to tell you that but you’re not listening”. And they both began laughing again. Not only was it extremely rude, but it was very embarrassing as there was a whole line of people behind me. I will not be flying United out of Rochester anymore just because of this specific employee.

2021-10-26This airport has improved significantly in the few years I’ve lived here. Facilities are cleaner and updated. Big enough to have flights where most customers need to go, but small enough that there aren’t huge crowds and lines all the time.

2021-05-22Great check in process. I flew through TSA without a hitch. There are very few people here on a Saturday but all the workers are friendly and there’s some really good food here. Definitely a grade A airport for a smaller city. You probably only need to arrive an hour before takeoff here.

2022-01-20Great for a small airport. Layout is nice and simple, food court is between the two concourses or terminals. Some newer restaurants are there that I hadnt seen before. Parking is simple and easy at the airport, but the economy lots arent currently available like they used to be with shuttles. But the weekly parking rate isnt that expensive.

2022-03-27This is a delightfully mid sized airport that is easy to drop off visitors at Departures sections. The airport was clean. The security process wasnt too bad. There were plenty of spots to relax if your flight wasnt leaving right away. I cant speak to restaurants as we didnt look for any.

2022-04-21The overall experience was great for my first time on a plane since I was a teenager. But the security was crazy though. They definitely upgraded and go to extreme lengths to keep us safe. I just wish they wouldve told us about liquids and gels on a carry-on and that I had to check my bag before I went through security.

2022-03-26Was unhappy when we arrived to depart for our flight on 03/19 since the economy yellow parking lot was full but the red lot had not been opened which meant we had to park in the more expensive parking lot for the week. Other than that it was uneventful, flight to our destination left on time and our flight on our return was also on time. Southwest was great as always and baggage claim was quick.

2020-12-24I curiously read about these different airport awards and wonder what I am missing because now it seems most airports are just often a glorified mall with security. Well call me impressed with ROC and if this isn’t the best airport in North America I must be a biased observer. Manageable walks even to the furthest gate, well thought out and convenient placement of amenities, airy central core with colorful art features along the ceiling, museum type display cases with quality unique objects, quiet sitting areas with comfortable chairs, a free arcade game area. I’m sure there were other features I didn’t even notice but A+ all around. My hat is off to whoever designed and built this facility because you did everything correct in my opinion.

2021-10-23Great, but NO united lounge. It is not too busy though. Please add a United Club lounge & a Priority Pass Select associated lounge. The security (TSA?) workers are polite & some friendly. this is my hometown airport, from my youth, that is. I appreciate the remodeling & upgrading that is going on there. The staff here are all very nice. Quite so. I look forward to eating a Rochester Garbage Plate before a flight.h. Im back. The remodeling is coming along nicely. Its beautiful. Cosmopolitan. I went back to Rochester in 2/19. Wow! The remodel of the airport is beautiful! Nice, stylish, and fancy looking. Posh. I liked the Taste of Rochester too, but I did not see a Garbage Plate offering on the menu. I just read its at the Flight Deck diner near concourse A & costs $12. Ill pay that to get stuffed. The remodeling of the airport made me happy, & the nice covered walkway from the airport to the garage is great! ROC needs more direct nonstop flights: to: Denver, Albuquerque, SFO, LAX, Vancouver, Montreal, &? A few more nonstop direct flights away from North America too: LHR & Frankfurt please. Please consider adding a small Aritaum store at the airport that sells Amore Pacific products, such as Sulwhasoo, IOPE, & Laneige. Aritaum store always gives you free sample sized gifts with purchase, which are perfect sizes for packing in carry on luggage. I was back here in may, 2019. The airport is beautiful! $$ well spent on the remodel. Now they need to add a longer runway & get a new international airline to make ROC a hub. I was just in Toronto in June, 2019. PLEASE add back the ROC to Toronto puddle jumper (but use a tiny jet!), but dont make the round trip price more than $100. It was too expensive in the past, & most folk dont want to sit on propeller prop planes. You do not need a car in Toronto, & it is OUR world class city so close to Rochester. Air Canada & United Air should have the flight & continuously promote it & its no more than $100 round trip cost. Also promote all the nonstop world destinations from Torontos airport. The small jet planes would be full. 10/28/19: another relaxed nice experience at this airport. The remodel job was wonderful. I even like the rocking chairs. 1/1 /20: the airport is very nice looking now. Not busy today. 6/7/21: After 1.4 years of government travel restrictions due to COVID, Im 🔙! Im so happy to come in & go out of ROC. 6 am: No long line at the United counter. Easy fast TSA Pre check security line. The airport has been beautifully updated again. Its a high quality nicely decorated airport with nice, polite, & friendly workers.

2022-04-02What a wonderful airport. Great restaurant choices and beautiful views of the airport. I love the entrance with the colorful canopies at arrivals and departures. Perfect kid areas to play and keep busy.
