I have been using Green Irrigation for at least 3 or 4 years. Nice, respectful, young gentleman come and take care of turning on in the spring and shutting down in the fall my sprinkler system.They have fixed a sprinkler head broken by my lawn mower.I would recommend to friends and family.
Green Irrigation is an All-American family owned service. Their work has always been high quality, reliable and professional work. They maintained my system and check for leaks and water waste, which is important to me. Green also installed my sprinklers when I moved to Dix Hills in 2010. The system performed really well and the design gave me room to add new zones when my landscaping needs changed. It was the best decision I made as a new homeowner.Jordan Pincus

Bought my first home that came with a lawn sprinkler system. When it came time to winterize the pipes Green Irrigation sent out their team to help blow out the sprinklers. They were quick, efficient and very friendly - even took the time to explain how things worked and what I should look out for to maintain the sprinklers.
This company takes advantage of new homeowners and needs to be out of business.Used them when we first moved into our home for closing our sprinklers which was fine. During the winter we had some damage done to one of our lines when we had an old cesspool removed. I let green irrigation know so when they came to open they could repair it.Opening came the entire system worked fine they said they would have to call John to have him schedule the repair and give us a quote. No one ever calls so I wait a week and call them (btw you always have to leave a voicemail since no one answers) Fernanda is very sweet and calls back tells me John said it is $1,200 and we set a date. They then tell me they have to cancel that date and will call me back to reschedule. I decided to call around and used Ample irrigation. They came 2 days later, charged me $120.00 and were done in 45 min!!! JOHN WAS CHARGING ME OVER $1,000 MORE!!I still never heard back to reschedule since 5/17/19 so I called today to speak to John. I wanted to talk to him about his pricing. John will never get on the phone. Poor Fernanda has to deal with the customers he decides to rip off.Its a shame that companies do business this way and take advantage of people. Stay away!
Reply to owners response: That is a false statement and a lie. I did state that the company I normally use had a 2 week window and I did need something sooner, HOWEVER, if someone would have mentioned a service fee I would have never agreed to it.There are tons of SERVICE companies who provide free estimates and dont look to rip people off.Regardless, the whole situation was handled extremely unprofessional and rude. There is no reason the punk service kid should call anyone cheap for something they didnt agree to.Wish you much luck with your business!Booked an appointment with Kathy over the phone. One of the techs came down today to look at the job, they gave me the total which I said I need to think about it and then he was saying I need to pay a $55 service fee. When booking the appointment I was never told there would be any service fee otherwise I would have not AGREED to the appointment or estimate. Be careful with these guys... the tech ended up calling me cheap and didnt take payment.

2022-04-05We used Green Irrigation to install our new sprinkler system. Everyone from the owner, John, to the office staff to the installers was extremely professional, responsive and pleasant to deal with. System was laid out precisely and thoughtfully and they used high quality materials and the latest technology. Job was done on time and they left our yard in the same condition they found it. Pricing was also very reasonable.Highly recommend and we look forward to continuing to work with them.

2018-05-22I received a card in the mail advertising their services. I failed to do my due diligence and hired them to open my system in the spring. After paying them to open my system and make two minor repairs to my system which is less than two years old, I came home see water gushing from one of the valves. I immediately called and left a message after listening to a recording which says that they return calls same day. Five days later, after calling seven more times and leaving four more messages, someone finally called me back. They arranged for someone to come back to my house (in the middle of the work day) and after seeing the leaking valve, advised me that I now have to pay them an additional $125 (on top of the $206 that I already paid). Side note.... I was told that they could not provide me with a receipt because it is not their job. The icing on the cake was being told by two men who looked like they were 15 years old that they were doing me a favor when I expressed my frustration at this situation. Well... they werent doing me a favor; I was paying for a SERVICE. I will pay any competitor twice as much just so that I never have to use them again. Consumers be warned!

2021-11-16Going on 8 years with Green Irrigation. They call me in Mar & Sept, show up, take care of everything. All I do is pay the bill. Very easy. GI has given me one less thing to worry about.

2020-01-06Wonderful service as always! We’ve been using Green Irrigation for years. They are very thorough and very professional. They are quick too! In and out and everything is done before you know it. We had them repair a few sprinklers last year that got wrecked by our lawn mower and they fixed them perfectly and in no time at all. We recommend them to everyone. Great service! 😊👍

2019-07-12We started using Green Irrigation when we first moved into our home 2 years ago and I’m so happy we found them when we did. They’ve opened and closed our system each year and quickly resolve any issues they come across while doing so. The guys are super nice and do a great job. Do yourself a favor and schedule the service just before the season begins to ensure you get a good date! They get super busy (although it sounds like a negative, I look at it as a positive - they are busy because they are good). I’ve already recommended them to a few friends. Pricing is pretty fair too!

2021-11-15Have been using Green Irrigation since I bought my house 7 years ago and been very happy. They have repaired my unit when i wasnt home, done all my opening and,closing of the system every year, and even called to warn me of high temps, suggesting when to increase my water time so my grass doesnt burn. Always recommend on FB and highly recommend here.

2020-09-15To start, i spoke to Green Irrigation several times in the hopes that i would NOT have to write this review. Sadly, they have given me no choice. I created a Yelp account for this situation.First few visits were fine. They sent a great guy named Sean who was helpful and informative. Had some more expensive work done a second time, requested Sean and all was well. Pricey but well.This last time i had a leak in a valve in my sprinkler box that i noticed. I called and requested Sean. Had a feeling i was not going to get Sean because the woman on the phone didnt seem happy i requested him. (Whats the big deal?)A very nice young man came to my house (Not Sean) and i explained the problem. He took some pictures and proceeded to go out to his car/van to call his boss. 30 seconds later, he came back and explained my options:He explained to me that valves cannot be replaced one at a time, they have to be all done at the same time (not true)First option was $250 and he said it most likely wont work. I passed on that as you might imagine.Second option was to replace the entire box, that was $850.I was uncomfortable with he price and the fact that he had to call his boss (a person who didnt see my sprinkler box) to tell him what had to be done. It didnt feel right. Also, this young man didnt seem confident in doing the actual work. I declined. I was shocked to be charged $55 for an estimate. I respectfully paid the young man and thanked him.I have since had the work done by another company. The entire box was redone for $450. They walked me through the process, explained everything and tested the sprinklers in front of me. They said the price of $850 was nothing short of insane especially since the box was above ground.Called Green Irrigation the next day and spoke with a nice lady named Kathy. I explained that i felt like it was not fair to be charged $55 for an estimate and requested my money back. I told her i would like to remain a client for yearly services despite my disappointment. She said she would have to speak to the owner.She called me back a while later and explained that the owner said that they would not be returning my money. I expressed my disappointment. I told her as a new home owner they would be losing me as a yearly client for years to come for $55. She seemed embarrassed but had to stick with what her boss said. I thanked her for her time. I never yelled, used profanity or even raised my voiceAs a person who works with the public, i feel this was a very short sighted decision on their part.Shame on you Green Irrigation, hope the $55 was worth it.Run from this company.Update:My response to Green Irrigations response to my original review.Yes, i did request Sean, because he is a fair honorable person. Im the customer, shouldnt i be able to request who i want? Customer is always right, right?Im glad everyone goes through company training to ensure good service, but as i said, i did not receive good service. Thats a problem, right?You are correct, i 100% opted to not do repairs. Please see above as to why. Not sure why you brought that up.As for price, as i customer, i expected you to give me an idea of what the price was going to be, not charge me to tell me what the price would be. If that was your plan, you should have told me.I had several different companies come that gave me free estimates.You can tell me how great of a company you are and you boast a 5 star rating on Google (not anymore) but somehow forgot to mention your Yelp rating, funny hua? (2 star)The actions of your company are why i decided to get the work done by another company. I didnt want to, i wanted to use your company! Why would i have called you in the do the work if i didnt want you to do the work? Clearly there was a problem.....Its nice to know that you strive to provide your clients with the best service but i didnt get thatThe right thing to do in this situation would be to refund the client. Im shocked that you would throw away many years of future service calls for this.
