DO NOT GO HERE! Green Meadows Farm Pumpkin Patch was a complete disappointment! Each ticket is $12 but there’s no pumpkins! Please see photos, it’s an embarrassment! No fun activities, my kids were so bored!A few chickens, goats and no pumpkins. The Hay Ride was loaded with CARBON MONOXIDE! It was impossible to breathe, we felt sick hours later. This place is unsafe! I do not recommend Green Meadows Farm to anyone. It’s a RIPOFF and such a waste of money and time. Pumpkin Patch without pumpkins! WE WERE EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED with Green Meadows Farm and pumpkin patch. Only patches and NO PUMPKINS! Beware, don’t waste your time and money!
What an awesome place!! Had such an amazing time here, some really special animals, so much room to let the kids (& even adults) run around, cute spots to take pics (like a flower covered gazebo w neatly stacked hay piles), really enjoyed ourselves. If you have trouble finding the parking lot entrance just call their number a lady answers within 2 rings and gives simple directions that took us 1 min lol.I have a 9& almost 12 yr old and they had a blast as well as myself. Def reccomend bringing a picnic w you, at least some snacks and drinks because theres no real store or anything there to buy stuff. They even offer hayrides like every 45 mins starting at noon. Its super cute for kids 10 & under esp if theyve never been, come on a hay ride in Brooklyn? Pretty cool lol.Overall, we really enjoyed it! Definitely gonna be back soon!
My family and I celebrated my sons 2nd birthday here yesterday and we had such an amazing time!!! The kids were in love with the animals, the hayride and the various tractors and slides! The icing on top was the pumpkin patch. We will definitely come back again. Id like to give an extra special thank you to Patty, Trish and Dan. You guys are amazing!!!
This place is wonderful for families and kids of all ages most importantly 2yrs and older. $12 per person is the best price for entry and what they have going on. They have animals like horses and pigs to feed and touch. they do require face mask which is okay because theres enough space for 6ft distance. Their train cart bumpy ride is huge 4 carts and carries 20 people on each cart. They also have multiple slides and open space for kids to run around and eat their snacks. Theres no cooked food or restaurant. Very chilled and humble spot to be in.
A lovely place to go to relax and pet some farm animals! There were a decent variety of animals to see and interact with but by far the best part was being able to get up close and personal with dairy cows! The cows are very docile and love being pet, often trying to lick your hands and trying to have you scratch that ooooone itchy spot by their little horns! You’re free to milk the dairy cows and you can watch the process that the farms actually use for collecting milk into large containers. It’s a very interesting experience!
Wasnt sure what to expect. Either this was going to be a major bust or wonderful experience. What a wonderful time. Grandchildren five and three had an absolutely amazing time. Very very kid friendly. Just enough to do without being overwhelmed. Staff was very polite and attentive. They answered all questions and were very friendly to children. Area was spotless. Animals looked well cared for. Nice area to eat lunch. Would definitely recommend.
The value is indisputable. It was a crowd pleaser among my 3 year old and 1.5year old. The staff were friendly and answered our questions. Recommendations for future visitors: bring water and refreshments for the kiddos! After all the activities, its nice to sit on the benches to relax a bit. Well be back for sure in fall.
This is the best place by far for kids under the age of 10..There is so much details to this place that its hard to describe.Starting with cheap prices. You walk in and you find yourself surrounded with grounds full of joy.Huge selection of animals and rides.Slides sprinklers.Coultre and climate friendly. Its a must for everyone with kids.Parents can relax on the grounds while the kids have time ro enjoy!!!
On Saturday, 10/23/21, I paid the $12 entrance fee and had a wonderful time! There are signs on the animal pens stating that touching the animals is not permitted due to Covid-19. One sign near the admissions area indicates that masks must be worn at all times. Each pen has an outer fence to prevent visitors from getting too close to the animals. Nice variety: several alpacas, four big calves, several miniature pot bellied pigs, three ponies (one with a braid!), several sheep and goats (a couple of baby goats were loose and coming to visitors for lettuce), and some fancy breeds of chickens (chickens love lettuce, too)! I loved hearing the roosters crow! There is a small barn--with entrance/exit ramp for visitors to easily move through--which has young guinea pigs, chicks, dwarf rabbits and a couple of bigger rabbits, and an employee inside to answer questions. Hand sanitizer dispensers are in many places. There are picnic tables on the grounds. The pumpkin patch is spacious with pumpkins attractively laid out, and large crates here and there containing both orange and white pumpkins to choose to take home. When exiting the pumpkin patch, your admission ticket is requested. The candy hunt is a fenced area where children line up at marked columns. Parents wait at the column end where plastic eggs are on the grass. The employee with the megaphone explains what everyone is going to do. Pop music is playing and patient children and their parents dance in place (that includes me, watching from the pumpkin area) as they wait for the hunt to start. A friendly employee enlightened me as to what the upcoming Pumpkin Smash event is: visitors climb up onto something and throw their pumpkins down. There is a snack booth with a limited variety of drinks and snacks, but no real food. (FYI: nearby Aviator is open, but the food court is still closed due to Covid. Floyd Bennett Field does not have any other food concession stands.) Portable outhouses are lined up near the hay ride area. Most important, a handwashing station is located near the smaller chicken pen, which has running water, soap and paper towels. I learned that Green Meadows Farm no longer has its Queens location. I LOVED being able to see farm animals in Brooklyn, and it was such fun seeing the parents and kids having a good time. In addition to the kids, there were some adults in Halloween costumes. The animals appear to be healthy. I was glad that lettuce, rather than pellets, is sold, since so many visitors feed the animals throughout the day. I saw an employee enter the alpaca pen to sweep up droppings. The alpacas looked very sharp with their shorn trunks, woolly oval pin-cushion tails, and their woolly pantaloons. I overheard a boy exclaim, I love your eyes as he fed one alpaca with the provided tongs, Thank you, Green Meadows!
The price was okay. With the pandemic the hayride was not operating, no pony rides or petting of animals. Price of lettuce is outrageous bring your own. Have to feed animals with a grabber stick. Some big tires and a few slides. A short show. My 6 year old enjoyed himself but there are much better options for more entertaining worth your money even free seasonal events and outings. Also not a pleasing pumpkin patch. Very few on ground, very small. I would probably not return.
We went to the farm on a Saturday, the day before Mothers Day and they were closed due to the rain. It was only slightly drizzling in between bright bouts of sun. What was frustrating is that from the parking lot to the entrance of the farm is a very long walk. We only found out the farm was closed after trekking all the way from the parking lot. So we went again the next day, which was Mothers Day. It was sunny for the most part of the morning but started becoming cloudy, cold around 2, so we were worried the farm was closed again. We called their number before driving to the farm and they told us they might close early due to the rain. We walked all the way to the entrance again and saw a big sign that says Closed, yet we saw there were still people inside. We were turning around to leave until we saw the family that was ahead of us was being admitted. So we turned around back to the entrance and was admitted after showing our tickets. We were given tickets for the children to do the candy hunt at the entrance, but no idea where to go as the were no signs. My children wanted to try milking the cow, but it was a fake core and there were no signs indicating what to do. Next to the cow we realized there were baby lambs running around outside of their enclosure and children were petting them and picking them up. Were werent sure if the animals were supposed to be running around outside but the worker picking up garbage nearby didnt react when they saw the children play with the animals. We walked to the back of the farm and heard a staff atthe hay ride yell to some other parents to hurry over to the left if they still want to do the candy hunt as it would be ending soon. Standing in line, we got up to the gate and were told to wait for the next round. There were people waiting on line behind us as well, but some late comers decided to bring their children forward, while cursing they unlatched the gate and usher the children inside to run and pick up candy. My concern was that they did not have a staff at the gate, and the staff did not say anything after he saw the unlatched gate and the group standing inside questioning what they had to do. On a good note, each child had their own lane to do the candy hunt. So it was great for social distancing and dont have to worry about older kids running over the younger kids. After the candy hunt was over, we walked back towards the area for the hay ride and they were already closed. We had to walk around to find where they sold the lettuce and had the grabbers to feed the animals. At the horse pen, a father was waving the grabber to tease the house into thinking he had food, and almost hitting the house in the process. There was no worker at the enclosure. We fed the horses and alpacas, leaving shortly afterwards. We spent less than an hour at the farm and were a bit disappointed. Overall, the farm seemed understaffed, and not enough clear signs to indicate the different areas of the farm, no directions, and was afraid the animals were being mistreated by the public from lack of supervision.
These animals are kept in horrific conditions, abused and neglected . They are kept in their own feces and sickly. This weekend I cried looking at the poor sheep flies and feces and a couple of them had open wounds on their legs. The cows were starved. Please do not support this inhumane treatment of Gods creatures.
Absolutely amazing the magical place! In the midst of Covid, I took my daughter pumpkin picking in November 2020 and took the opportunity to return for the Easter Egg Hunt on Easter Day!! Super professional, clean and we absolutely felt safe...very well coordinated.. thank you : )
Heres my explanation for my one-star review for this place: My children missed out on two Easter Egg Hunts this year so I decided to make it to them. Long story short, I found an advertisement for a Mothers Day Event at Green Meadows Farm on Groupon $18 for the admission of two people. Printed out the voucher and prepared to go. Since I work Sunday nights, I decided to take my two boys, Daryl (8) and Daniel (7 & Autistic) to have a different experience than sitting at home with their tablets all day long due to COVID-19 social distancing. So I saw there was going to be rain off and on that day but decided to go anyway. Im from Connecticut and the weather was somewhat the same. I figured it would just be cloudy with splotches of rain here and there. Ive never been to this farm so I assumed there would be activities held inside a barn or somewhere seeing how large the farm was based upon the pictures posted online. I live about 1 hour and 35 minutes away so it wasnt so bad of a drive. Ive driven down that way to LaGuardia Airport so I was familiar with the route. So we left about 10:20 a.m. after running a few errands after leaving the house and rain came on and off. Got to New York an hour later. When we reached the farm at 12:53 p.m., I saw that the gate to enter the farm was closed. It was drizzling so I decided to call the farm. When I called the farm, there was a message stating that the farm was closed due to inclement weather! Oh boy, I thought to myself. I should have called the farm before I left but I didnt think no one would answer since it was around 9:30 a.m. when I actually left the house. I sat and watched as children were being picked up and dropped off at a field nearby. I sat and saw the large field with the playground with other kids activities. By then, the rain started coming down a little bit faster. I packed sandwiches, chips, fruit snacks, and juice boxes for the kids. So we sat and ate in my van. I wanted to go to a restroom and was lucky to find the Kings Plaza Mall not too far from the farm so we all could relieve ourselves. So, instead of having the kids take a break from their tablets, the wound up spending 4 hours and 30 minutes in the van on their tablets during travel time (It actually took us 3 hours to get home due to heavy traffic on the Hutchinson Parkway). We were all disappointed but hopefully, we can come back next year maybe for the Easter Egg Hunt. I just wonder if or would I be able to get a refund or would I have to go through Groupon since the voucher was purchased through their website. Sorry for the one-star review, Im pretty sure its a nice place to visit; but unfortunately, we, along with many others I assume, didnt get to enjoy it today.
Nice spot. Definitely for families. My husband and I just wanted a morning out, something different to do, get outta Greenpoint type thing. Really only wanted to buy pumpkins and support a local farm. The staff were friendly enough. The staff person at the pumpkin patch itself was very helpful and friendly.Issue was they arent set up to accept credit/debit cards EASILY. Theyll do it but it took some time to figure out. Bring cash to save time. Pumpkins are $3 a piece above the two you get free.Enjoy!
I brought my son here because I didnt want to travel far to go to a farm where he then might not be interested in the activities offered (hes autistic, so it can be hit or miss). I thought this was an excellent experience. Its exactly as described. We fed some alpacas and other animals. There was a small petting area with bunnies, guinea pigs, and Japanese silky chickens (???). We purchased a ticket for the pony ride ($3) which is for kids from pre-K to 2nd grade only. They also sold lettuce to feed the animals. For $3, you got 6 leaves of Romaine lettuce. Thats high but really in the scheme of things, its not bad. They had a kid-friendly haunted house--a darkened trailer with a smoke machine, pre-recorded sounds, and mechanical ghosts and goblins. I cant imagine any kid over the age of 2 being scared and under 2, they probably wouldnt understand what theyre looking at. There was an opportunity to control the forklift thing (?) on a tractor, a fun slide, a pretty decent hayride, and a big pile of pumpkins to climb on and get the one you want. There were other things that I didnt have him do like a box with corn in it or something. I think for the price and location, this was very much worth it. My son enjoyed himself. There are Port-O-Potties, but you can also use the bathrooms at the Aviation Center nearby. All in all, I think this is a good weekend activity thats pretty reasonable.
Brought my class along with other classes here for a trip. We had a great time and paid for over 100 people. Before entering the farm we were not given the proper number of stickers/passes. The woman at the door would not let me (the teacher) in. I, along with other adults, had to pay twice in order to take my class on the trip.
A lot of fun for the whole family. Lots of different farm animals to see, a corn pit to play in, real tractors to lift, a tire park, a hay ride, cow milking, and much much more. The price is inexpensive and reasonable , the staff are knowledgeable, very nice and helpful. Oh, and everyone gets to take a pumpkin or gord home. All while very conveniently located in Brooklyns Floyd Bennet Field. Well worth it!

2022-05-01Excellent place for the entire family. Very spacious, CLEAN and staff very ATTENTIVE & POLITE. Petting zoo very well distributed and animals in great conditions. Washing stations everywhere in the entire park. Hay rides, milking cow (fake) sitting and picnic tables in the entire park. Multiple stationary tractors to use by children and even a real Bulldozer where teach you how to use it! It’s amazing! You can bring your own water and snacks but the Food kiosk sells everything and the Hot dogs are delish! Very affordable by the way. Portable bathrooms are checked very often and are very clean. By the way, Free parking!! This place it’s really a very good one to spend a nice day with the loved ones. Highly recommended

2022-06-03Sweet little farm for kids to enjoy. There was pony riding, a bubble show that appeared every few hours, two bounce houses, lots of tractors and even an excavator to explore on. There was a huge playground upon entrance. The animals were cute and friendly to feed. For $6 per head of romaine lettuce, you can feed the dairy cows, sheep, goats, alpacas, and pigs. However there are not bathrooms just porta-potties, so be prepared for that.

2021-09-26This place is amazing!!! My family had so much fun here. Theres so much to do, from hayrides to photo ops. The props that they set up for fall are beautiful and make wonderful pictures. They have a playground made out of farm material for kids to run around and enjoy. And the best part is the animals! Where else in NYC can you get a country experience and feed cows? At Green Meadows farm!!! We loved it and will definitely be back!!!

2021-09-07I think my kids might be getting too old for petting zoos 😢 they had fun but gir bored very quickly so based on that Id say this place is better for littles. Other than that i thought itvwas great. Plenty of play areas, they give you these long tongs to feed animals with as were no longer allowed to touch them. The food is 3 or 6$ (cash only) and its lettuce bit all the animals ate it. The hay ride wasnt anything spectacular, but again, my kids arent that little anymore. Theyve got seasonal activities coming up that look cute (candy search, pumpkin smash ect)..so i might check out those but for twist day I doubt you could spend all day there. We topped out at 3 hrs and that was pushing it.

2022-04-18The staff at the egg hunt was not trained for the job. It was not an egg hunt to begin with, it was marked off lanes for each kid and 6 eggs at the end of each row, each kid had to run one time to the end and put the eggs in the bucket. The lady at the front yelled at me to get off the hay but that was everywhere so I didnt know what she meant. We went at 10:30 when the race started but she said we couldnt start because we had to wait for more kids. I told her our son has a preference for less crowded areas, she said she didnt care and told us to get off the hay again. She kept talking toward me after I left, couldnt hear what she said though.

2022-05-31Came on Memorial Day with almost perfect weather in the ’70s. Bought the Groupon which was a great deal. Lots of kids activities such as the open fields, playground, tube slides, hayride, tractors, pony rides, bouncy house, and animal feedings. My kids enjoyed feeding the goats, sheep, alpacas, cows, and pigs the most. The farm charge $6 for a head of romaine which is pricey! Bring your own if you can. Overall a great place to spend a day with your kids and family.

2021-10-03Kids and adults love this place. I suggest packing water and snacks. Hayride was nice. Feeding the animals was so much fun. We missed the baby farm. Great experience for the kids.
