The class is literally called movers and shakers for toddlers age 2-3. However, this woman who teaches expects your active 2 year old to nicely sit in your lap for the entire time. Meanwhile, the room is filled with foam play blocks but they expect your toddler not to be interested in them. Yeah ok
On the night of July 23, 2019 my 20 month old son and I came here to explore for the first time. I drove by before and saw parking signs reserved for those with babies and strollers and thought to myself this must be a baby friendly place. As all 20 month olds do, my son had a meltdown and though my attempts to calm him down didn’t help much, I decided to leave (the children’s area, I doubt anyone there was studying for the MCAT).As I was putting my son back in his stroller, a very snotty librarian came over and told me that we had to leave. She couldn’t wait to see if I strolled out of there first... I will never step foot back in this unfriendly and unwelcoming space. As a first time working- mother it doesn’t take much to feel defeated or guilty for not spending quality time with your child and this woman only helped to make me feel worse. Horrible staff and the facilities- though pretty on the outside are really outdated and dirty. Id rather drive the extra 15 miles and go to Yonkers Public Library. Friendlier staff that knows how to work with the public as well as a cleaner space.
Still closed due to COVID-19 despite website saying that they are open.I love the Greenburgh Library. The comfortable setting and the surrounding light from all angles makes it easier to focus and study. Bring a light sweater or hoodie bcuz the AC can get too cold at times.
This is one of the most valuable resources in Greenburgh. The programs are diversified and appeal to patrons of all ages. The librarians are knowledgeable and approachable. I have no idea why one patron had a bad experience with the front desk. Those who check out books are efficient and polite even when a line forms.Go to the library! You will find programs of interest, computer classes, book clubs, videos, audiobooks, and even BOOKS at no charge.
This was my library when I was growing up in Greenburgh.I am reviewing it to comment on their permanent book sale.I’ve lived in a lot of different states and used many public libraries, but the Greenburgh Public Library has the best permanent book sale I’ve ever seen. It’s as big as a small bookstore and everything is $1. The books are organized by genre and author. I buy so many books here when I visit my Dad. I also buy CDs and DVDs.There’s a lot of parking, but the lower level fills up quickly. My dad uses a walker, so I drop him off at the door and then park up the hill. They have public restrooms and free WiFi.

2022-05-07We love a visit to the library. The librarians have a smile to share and easily offer guidance. At this time, you can see a display of sculptures made from recycled metal when you browse. Check it out on the 2nd floor.

2022-01-19I have been to many libraries in my lifetime, but Greenburgh library is one gem of a place. It checks all the boxes for me; clean, quiet, accessible, great hours of operation, competent staff.

2018-07-27This is my go-to library; although I live in Whiteplains. This library offers a wide selections of books, and dvds to rent. In addition, unlike the whiteplains library, the parking here is free. One less star for the not so sound proof study room.

2021-07-30One of my favorite libraries. It boasts a full collection of reading materials, audio books, and dvds. The childrens room is spacious and engaging. In fact, the whole premise is spacious enough to comfortably work or browse despite the high attendance rate!

2021-10-28This is a very quiet, clean, and excellent library to go to. They give you plenty of time to use the computers especially if you have to take online classes or do job searches. This place is very close to home too. I hope that I do get hired here.

2021-01-28It might be nostalgia, but I love this library. I use to live in Yonkers as a kid. My mom would bring me here in occasion by bus. Would play math blaster or pajama sam on the computers in the kids section. Pick out books to pour over at home. Me and my mom would eat lunch at the tables out back (not sure if theyre there anymore.). But it was always a well kept library that always smelled of good books and fond memories. I miss being a kid in New York coming here. Its been more than 20 years since Ive been here or lived in New York for that matter. So thanks for being a good library that stuck in my heart and mind.

2020-02-06My favorite place to get work done! A great quiet floor that’s actually quiet, big windows to look out when I need a break, and good wifi. Also people studying all around so I stay motivated. My only issue with this library are the hours - wish it was open later. As someone who gets out of school at 4 most days, a library that closes at 5.30 doesn’t give me much study time.

2021-08-14Unfortunately I had a very bad experience there, back in the Summer of 1995. A (now deceased) Librarian named Nancy Larabee bullied me & reduced me to tears, when I worked with her. Okay, my condolences that she passed away because she was so young, but unfortunately I dont have good memories of her.

2017-07-19Great selection of current fiction and non fiction, and easy to reserve books online. Wonderful childrens library with excellent librarians. Best of all book donations can be made all the time, just drop them off inside.
