My daughter was traumatized during a recent baby tooth extraction. Thankfully, our pediatric dentist referred us to Dr. Hansford. He sedated my daughter and completed all her treatment including 1 more extraction while she was asleep. She didnt cry at all and doesnt remember a thing.
Dr. John Hansford is a very experienced and is very knowledgeable and is hands down the best dental anesthesiologist he took very good care of my son that needed alot of work on his teeth and he got the job done fast and successfully if I could give 10 stars I would highly recommend him to all parents for there children
Amazing amazing Dr. Hansford sedated both my sons three years ago. Everything went great. Our pediatric dentist found new cavities recently and did their best to get my kids to cooperate but it wasn’t happening. Dr Hansford sedated them both again today. My Husband and I were very pleased again.
I had my child see this dentist for about 2 years. We had gone to this office based on their outstanding reviews. My child had cavities that needed to be taken care of and had gotten crowns on the teeth. He had seen a different dentist every time he went to this office. There was a female dentist who looked like she was in her mid 20s. Probably straight out of dental school. She didnt do a good job the first time and my childs crown came off, we had to go 2 more times. A total of 4 visits for the crown. And then we saw another young dentist in his mid to late 20s another time. They took xrays, but it didnt come out well. So they said, dont worry about it. Just get it done when you see another dentist. If youre not going to take the xrays properly, why expose my child to it or do it properly again. But the dentist was probably tired and wanted to go home. Obviously they dont have much work experience straight from school. I overlooked it due to their reviews being nearly perfect. Never again will I step into their office. My child had tooth pain for a year. You know what the dentist response was for the tooth pain. Its probably gingivitis. Probably? Unbelievable. The new dentist that we went to said they did a terrible job with the crown, filling every where. Didnt clean cavities enough, cavity built up under the crown. Stay away if your child has tooth pain!
JUST A HEADS UP TO WHO WHAT TO GO TO THIS PLACE.My son 4 years old and they did remove my his front 4 teeth without even discussing if I can keep them or not, they decide to remove the Teeth without any discussion. Now I have to wait till my son turn 7-8 years old to have the new teeth comes out.I found out that all ABOUT MONEY so they can collect as much as they can from the insurance company. Please think about your child before you visit this office…!Yes I did sign the paper, but no one came and discussed that my son can keep his teeth instead of taking them off. I did find out after I had cost a different dental office that my son could keep his teeth even with the cavities. The doctor should came and have discussion, we did t know by that time if we can keep them or no. I didn’t know that kids with cavities can keep them till the new teeth comes out.The doctor didn’t even have the time to come to talk to the parents and Knowledged them we didn’t know, and I said we didn’t found that all what they did was unprofessional!!!
I cannot express how amazing Dr. John and his staff are. He was so thoughtful in all his questions about my son and his diagnoses. Putting your child under anesthesia is a big deal for parents and he put me at ease because I knew my son was in very capable hands. Thank you!!
My sons (2yrs) first time at the dentist, needed the form for him to start school. I missed my appointment and was so stressed that morning because this place was so far, it was 90 deg outside and the only decent place that accepts my insurance. I begged them to still see my son, and they did. The staff was so nice, they were patient with my son who was screaming and crying the whole time. GOD BLESS THEM. I definitely recommend them if you live in the area. Not sure if its practical for me, I live almost 2 hours away. But it may be a sacrifice because they were good with him.
My son’s first trip to the dentist could not have gone better! All of the dentists were very patient and gentle. I really appreciated how they took the time to show my son the tools they were going to use and how they would use them. He suffers some anxiety but sat very well throughout the procedure. The dentistry team made it fun for him and he actually enjoyed being there which was the last thing I expected! Team is very friendly and I’m so thankful his first visit was so successful!
Excellent service. I would definitely recommend this Pediatric dentistry practice. My son had to be put to sleep for treatment. The staff was so professional and kind. From the initial phone call to the completion of the procedure they explained the whole process to us step by step. We didnt have to wait very long to be seen. I was able to be with my son as he fell asleep and as he woke up. We were given updates as the procedure progressed and consulted about the treatment plan for our son. They even gave him a Spongebob balloon at the end of his visit. The dentist and dental hygienist escorted our son out to the car in a wheelchair when the procedure was over. Great experience
I go for my first visit with my son to the office I see the dentist and he said that they have to do a procedure on I said ok fine I made a new appointment and it was a different dentist without taking an X-ray or anything he said he had to remove my 2 year olds 4 front teeth ! Just by looking at him without an X-ray !!!. When the previous one said they wouldn’t have too . So unfortunately I did not have a good experience in this office with one doctor saying this and the other saying that . I went for a 2nd opinion and my sons teeth could be treated without removal . Staff is very nice but my experience with the doctors wasn’t great
Great experience with dr.John Hansford!!My 5 year old daughter had a sedation done by him. Everything was done professionally. He was super nice and helpful. All our questions were answered by him before the procedure took place. He made us feel more comfortable and calmed about the situation. All the staff working with him was great. I knew I was leaving my baby girl in good hands!Highly recommend!
My visit was great the Dr. Hansford and staff were amazing. They reassured my mom and I everything would be ok. They answered and asked questions to ensure a smooth visit. I was completely comfortable and relaxed. They were very caring before and after my procedure assisting my mom with escorting me (I was still a little loopy from the anesthesia) to our car home. Great appointment overall!!
This entire staff is absolutely amazing. Dr. Hansford is incredible. Not only extremely intelligent and informative but he was able to joke around to ease my nerves on my sons sedation. Everyone was pleasant and very understanding. I would not trust my children in anyone else’s hands for dental procedures. If I could rate higher stars I would! A special thanks to his team Eugene and Megan they were outstanding in everything they did. Thank you a million again from the whole family.
Had a great experience during our visit for dental cleaning. The staff is incredibly kind and accommodating. I’d like to give extra kudos to our hygienist Sonny, who was very thorough, efficient, professional and gentle. I’m very pleased with this office! Highly recommended!!
Such lovely and caring staff and doctor! Glad we found them! Both my kids were happy and so proud of themselves after the visit.First my daughter (3 years) was skeptical about the cleaning, but the staff was so lovely and caring that she was comfortable and agreed to get the ‘big girls’ cleaning done.Could not ask for a Better experience for my kids and myself.
The most amazingly awesome experience for my child with special needs! The child who wouldnt allow a doctor in his mouth allowed the team to x-ray his teeth, do a cleaning and an exam! I would recommend this office to anyone!!! Thank you all so much for the excellent service!!!
Best dentist ever.. the staff and doctors are definitely kind and gifted. My 4 year old has autism and the whole process was shockingly, smooth. Thank you, Green point staff for making us feel comfortable and thank you Doctors for making my son feel comfortable. Thanks for being so informative and supportive.. I was so nervous at first.. definitely recommending everyone I know, to go to Greenpoint Pediatric Dentist.
My son’s teeth were in really bad shape. He is only a toddler—four years old. He needed root canals, crowns and extractions. His mom and I were very scared for him. She researched pediatric dentist and found Greenpoint. Long story short, we had a wonderful experience.Dr. H was gentle, caring and fast. He made sure we were comfortable. He made sure my son was safe. This was the best experience I have ever had. I anticipate a beautiful smile for my boy as he grows up.
Went in for a regular checkup today, later to find out during our visit that my four year old son needed an extraction due to a broken/infected tooth, which I had no idea he even had because it was so far back in his mouth and my strong little guy never complained about it. The staff was very informative and treated my son very kindly throughout the entire time we were there. They schedule the surgery on the spot and prepped the room right away. I stepped out for a coffee nearby while the doctor worked one-on-one with my son and by the time I had finished my drink, the procedure was all done.My only suggestion or thing I would have liked is post-surgery care recommendations in paper or digital form. There was a lot of information given verbally regarding care and the to-dos vs. what not to-dos, but with everything going on it was a lot to retain mentally. I did receive a phone call a few hours later as a follow up which was nice.Overall, have had many visits here and all visits have been pleasant and the staff is great.
Great work! Very safe. Answered all our questions and we had a safe sedation. Also, thank you to the parents who write about their experiences :) I was so nervous last night. Your experiences really made me feel comfortable. Before we left the sedation, my son said Dr. John was funny and his friend. He didn’t remember the procedure at all.
We had a GREAT experience here. Weve tried several dentists before we found a place for our son. They take DC37. There are out of pocket costs for anesthesia, but they are reasonable. Ive tried over 2 years with other dentists, immediately on our first visit, we know weve made the best choice. After our son surgery thats all we spoke about on our way home...how excellent the service was.Overall, we recommend Greenpoint Pediatric Dentistry.PS: After writing my review above, I decided to read some of the other reviews. I must say that I do not know any of the staff at this dentist office. I got their number from Dc37 list. I guess everyone experienced is different but I felt like I was reading about another office. This office is very professional, for both of our visit, we were seen shortly after we arrived, and apart from us waiting for our son to finish, we saw about 5 other clients who were called shortly after they arrived. Place looks clean and organized, perhaps they were reorganizing or something at the time, i dont but I can definitely speak for myself this office compared to other dentists is clean, kids friendly and professional. To my surprise; which Ive never seen this before, later in the evening after both of my visits I received an email explaining what was said and was is expected on my next appointment!!! Again I HIGHLY recommend this office.
They are great with my son! He had almost no discomfort after the procedure (cleaning the nerves filling cavities crowning teeth and one extraction), he was put under general anesthesia, and he was out about an hour and a half later. They genuinely care about your child’s dental health. Thank you!
Just had a wonderful experience taking my 3 year old son to this dental office. I had an issue with my insurance the dentist really worked with us to make sure we got our needs met without breaking the bank. He thoroughly explained everything he was doing and was great with my son. He was so kind he even took a look inside my husbands mouth (he’s recovering from having his wisdom teeth pulled and had a couple questions). Overall I am very happy to say we have found our new pediatric dentist!
I was looking for place like this for weeks. My toddler is the nightmare patient for any doctor. With a lot of work he had needed and the temper he has, doctor John and his team, did amazing job. They really want to help your child, they care from front desk, procedure, to after visit calls to make sure your child is good.No wait time, super fast visit, safe sedation options. Highly recommend!Thank you, we will back despite were living 50 miles away.
I have been taking my daughter to Greenpoint Pediatric Dentistry for 3 years now and I have never been disappointed. Dr. Handsford and Dr. Jones are hands down some of the best. They explain in precise details what’s going on with my daughter and make sure I understand and give me different options with the best route to take. I wish they take adults !!!! Thank you Greenpoint Pediatrician Dentistry, keep up the great work!
Excellent in every way. My son was born with extra teeth that were messing up his permanent teeth and he had cavities. We searched for months. He begins screaming whenever he goes to the dentist and no one could help. We got referred from Bitesize. They were great and recommended Dr. Hansford for sedation. It was as great experience. They did the surgery and the dentistry all in one visit and my son doesn’t remember anything.
Great experience! Everyone was patient and kind. We were nervous about sedation, and we went to several offices for opinions.Dr. Hansford was great. He explained everything. And hes more than a dentist; he did residencies in pediatrics and anesthesiology. I wouldnt trust anyone else with my sons treatment.
Took my daughter here today and found. Dr. John to be very friendly and approachable. He did his work quickly and easily. and my daughter had a very pleasant experience. Nice to hear that we had no cavities to fill, as well! The office staff, Marta, and the assistant were also wonderful. Best pediatric dentist Ive been to in NY!
I cant say enough good things about Dr. John Hansford and the team at Greenpoint Pediatric Dentistry. Im so hlad we were referred here. My daughter has very bad asthma, and i was so worried. They answered my questions so expertly. They know how to treat holistically here. They were even considerate of my anciety
Great experience. The staff is nice and patient. The dentist was kind and answered all our questions. We were informed ahead of time that our daughter might cry during sedation, but wouldn’t feel any pain and the medicine would hopefully make her forget. Dr. John answered our questions, we felt safe with him, and thankfully she didn’t remember anything. Thank you Greenpoint Pediatric Dentistry!
This was our first Visit ! There was a friendly team ! They made us feel so comfortable as well as our two children. The staff was so patient with my son and daughter and they made him feel at home ! The doctor was also very knowledgeable and can’t wait to bring my children back !
Website and health provider list this facility to provide care for both children and adults but when I tried to make an appointment with them, I was refused service because I was an adult. They advertise in their About us section on their website that they see patients of all ages, backgrounds, and levels of need then continue to reinforce the fact that they see adults by saying they are the right place for an adult in search of a beautiful smile. These lies do not need to be advertised to both the public and health providers if it is not true. The lady on the phone wanted nothing to do with me as well once I told her I was an adult and told them that they blatantly advertise the fact that they treat adults as well as children. If you did not want to service adults, it should be advertised as such instead of wasting peoples time.
My 2 year old had a fall not to long ago. I went online to find a good pediatric dentist for her because her tooth started to turn grey. I had some concerns about nerve damage. I did a lot of research and read great things about Greenpoint Pediatric Dentistry. I was not impressed when i first arrived nothing about this place screamed Pediatric No books nothing to keep kids entertained while they were waiting.I also had to change my daughters pull-up and the bathroom had no changing table. Upon entering the room for her consultation it was very bland. She had to do an X ray and i noticed the machines are extremely outdated. This caused a lot of extra photos of my daughters teeth to be taken because the machines are very old. The young lady was very nice and did try to accommodate us as much as possible. When the doctor walked in to view the X-rays i and a lot of questions that i felt he didnt answer clearly. He was also speaking very fast as if he was rushing. Overall I hate to have to give it 3 stars but these were just my observations.
I had a great experience with this dentist. My son had to have four teeth taken out and i was nervous. I was referred by his regular pediatric dentist for an oral surgeon out in Brooklyn that was too far. So i researched for somewhere closer and they are located just around the corner. Not many pediatric dentist do extractions for young children. Dr.Hansford was patient and kind explaining the whole process from the anesthesia to after care. Everything went quick and smooth. They had a tablet for my son to watch a show before the procedure and after to make him more comfortable. Less than two hours after the anesthesia wore off my son was back to normal like nothing happened. Very minimal pain felt in the days after. Would highly recommend.
Thank God for doctors that treat kids with special needs. The Office is wheelchair friendly. My daughter was treated in their large operating room in their big chair. When she is older and bigger she can be treated in her wheelchair because the room is big and all the equipment is transportable. Never seen an Office like this. Amazing.
Our visit to Greenpoint as always was fantastic. Our 5 year old daughter feels very comfortable there. Went in for a check up and cleaning; sticker in hand our little one came out with a smile on her face. The staff is very kind, professional, and works great with kids.
The task of finding a good dentist for children is not so easy. Happy to report we have found such place in the heart of Greenpoint. The staff was profesional and friendly. Both my kids had no hesitations. The dentist was informative and just great all around. The appointment started on time and I could see all the ways they implanted safety protocols during this uncertain time of Covid. If you are questioning your child’s dentist please check this place out!
We recently had an appointment with Dr. Hansfords office for a dental cleaning. Weve been coming here for 5 years. We were very disappointed when our appointment was cancelled 30 minutes before we were scheduled to arrive. When speaking to the office, other than fitting us in that afternoon (which we couldnt make) , they were unwilling to fit us in another time. We would have to wait till middle of October. We asked for a phone call back from the doctor and we are still waiting a week later for that call. We will not be returning after all these years. My review from 5 years ago. My two children ( ages 3 and 5) had a wonderful experience with Dr. Hansford. He was very informative and had a great manner with my kids.
John and crew went above and beyond from before I even stepped in the office... super easy to use remote check in which was awesome and so I was ready to be seen as soon as showed up on day of appointment... had an impacted wisdom tooth that got very painful, very quick and they went out of way to make sure they got it out ASAP. On day of procedure I remember joking with John about how the anesthesia can mess with your memory and I asked “will it get rid of all my sad memories” and he said “Don’t worry we won’t touch those so you can still an artist “ Last thing I remember is falling asleep laughing to his joke and by time I woke up I was feeling a million times better than I have all week. Already able to eat some yogurt and had some great follow up notes sent from the office in an email waiting for me! 10/10 best dental experience ever had!
I was terrified and believed it was hopeless finding a pediatric dentist open during the pandemic that would take my son asap for an emergency visit. The receptionist, Ellie was in touch with me via email and communicated with me by phone and reassured me that the doctor can see my son same day and extract the tooth during the visit. Upon xrays, we learned my son needed 5 teeth extracted. The doctor came to speak with me and gave me advice on what he would do if it were his son or nephew. I put my trust in the hands of these wonderful people and I am so glad I did. They are so compassionate and sincere. We do not live in the area but I will make the trip for the kind and gentle care we received today. I definitely recommend Greenpoint pediatric dentistry, you cant go wrong.
Dr. John and his assistant were so great. We did a sedation with him after our regular pediatric dentist referred us. Previously we got our cleanings without issue. We tried to get xrays and fillings with laughing gas, and it wasnt strong enough. We got referred to Dr. John and he answered all our questions and took care of us excellently.
Dentistry is average. But what I really dislike is Dr. John Hansford recommending services that are not covered by insurance that are really UNNECESSARY at $100.00 a procedure! The entire procedure takes less than, literally, 20 seconds!! First time I fell for it, second time I didnt. There are better pediatric dentists out there!
We appreciate Greenpoint Pediatric Dentistry so much! Our son developed a worsening set of dental disasters during the pandemic when our regular dental office was closed. Dr. Hansford is so knowledgeable and solved all our problems swiftly, all while taking great care to minimize difficulty for our son. The entire staff is amicable, clear, and calm. We cannot recommend Greenpoint Pediatric Dentistry highly enough. We are so glad we found them!
I brought my daughter in to get a second opinion regarding her teeth. The staff and Dr help me understand better about her surgery. They told me what can happen being under sedation. I was nervous and scared but they did an awesome job with my daughter and she took well to the sedation
My second time here. The first time was great, this time I waited almost 1 hour to be seen for a 6 month check-up. They did apologize and gave me a “Whoops card” for making me wait. I arrived about 15 min before my appointment time, which was at 1pm, and wasn’t seen until almost 2pm. The service here is very good and the staff is nice, but 5 stars is not given for the wait time.
Today my daughter had an appointment we arrived a little bit late the receptionists explain to me that there was a patient that had an emergency and needed to be seen quickly I said OK, I know theres gonna be a small wait so we sat there for a while. Another patients parent went up to her and ask her how long is the wait going to be she goes on to tell her that the wait is going should be an hour to 2 hours but parent continues to explain to her that thats horrible and why is there only one doctor working. Why are the rest of you not assisting him. She just keeps Scrolling on her phone and ignoring her. I go up to her and I tell her how long is the wait going to be because my child is hungry she goes to tell me that she put me to the bottom of the list due to the fact that I was a few minutes late. In my mind Im confused because even if I was on time I still would have been waiting ,so why should I be put to the bottom of the list even though I was a few minutes late. She keeps looking at her phone and acting as if she doesnt notice that there is somebody in front of her a talking to her. She was disrespectful. I highly recommend that you do not go to this dentist. Especially with there being only one doctor thats working and a bunch of people who would just standing around and not do anything at all. If you want to take your children somewhere that theyre not gonna treat you with any respect and ignore you at all times this will be the place to go.
Fantastic. Dr. John tried singing and nitrous and Netflix to get my daughter to cooperate, but she wasnt having it. We rescheduled, and he provided a safe sedation. Im happy to report the work got done and she doesnt remember anything. I like he tried everything before we went to sedation, and that hes a double specialist in anesthesia and pediatric dentistry. When we had to go to sedation we felt we were in good hands.
I took my daughter to see this dentist the staff was nice. They are only 3 Pediatric Dentist that except DC 37 dental insurance in NY. I wasn’t to happy how the rooms where set up. There was one room where the room was divided into two with a partition. She had x-rays done and I felt like the dentist had to push the laughing gas in order to have the procedure done. My husband and I were not too thrilled with this office. I felt like I was in a Third World country dental office. I felt very uncomfortable having any procedure done for my daughter in this dentist office. Will be taking her elsewhere and willing to pay out of my pocket for her procedures.
They were very patient with my kids, it being their first dentist visit and them being very scared not knowing what to expect. They were also very compassionate when my kids where nervous. They explained everythinn before they did it to them and talked them through it! Loved it, will definitely come again
I never thought wed find the perfect dentist for our children, yet here I am corrected! Dr.John Hansford is genuinely amazing with caring for his pediatric patients and his staff is kind and welcoming! My seven children finally are happy and willing to go for checkups! Thank you Greenpoint Pediatric Dentistry keep up the great work!
Dr. John gave the preventive care for our son. He skillfully handled our toddler very easily. Our son liked him and brushed his teeth saying like a doctor! He even gave more helpful instructions that I can follow. There was a little wait but the person at the reception was very helpful and pleasant.
I would never go back to see Dr. Hansford again! He was very cold and rough with my 11year old daughter. He did not even finish the tooth. It was such a bad experience, She was in so much pain, and crying. He didn’t care to stop, or console her. He also never introduced himself to me or my daughter, just went straight to work. It was Horrible!!
Doctor: I have no one to compare him to but, seemed to be experienced and informative, answered everything from A to Z, and I have to give him credit for dealing with irrational and dramatic kid.Facility: it really needs some love and TLC, does not look kid friendly at all, it looks a bit scary for me as adult to be honest. some color on the walls would be a good startTime management: we waited from 30-1h to get to the chair, and one hour of waiting for 4 year old who knows stuff will be done to his teeth is very difficult.Staff: staff was nice and helpfulIn conclusion: if I had a choice I would take my kid to a more child friendly looking office and I would LOVE to wait less than 1h, but with my dental plan this is my only option
The doctor and the staff was great. The only complaint I have is that we were delayed more than 30 minutes and only after I mentioned something, the staff advised how much longer we had to wait. They accommodated us soon after. They were great with my 2 year old. They made had cooperate, which was great! Highly recommend them.
Dr. Hansford provided my childs sedation in Manhattan. We were scared at first, but he explained everything and the procedure went well.Everyone was really nice and they new every detail about our insurance.Thank you so very much for helping my son Augustus with his very serious dental problem.
I brought my 6 year old daughter to Greenpoint pediatric dentistry for major dental work and I have to say the dentist and staff are great. Dentist, Anesthesiologist and staff took their time explaining everything step by step. The next day my daughter was in no pain and still talks about her great experience at the dentist.
I was recommended to go to Greenpoint Dental for my 8 year old son, for an extraction and it was pleasant and Dr. Hansford has an amazing personality and he knows everything there is to know about his job. He explained and his staff explained everything very clear and we had an amazing dentistry experience even in this pandemic of Covid-19. They really care and Dr. Hansford is the best dentist ever, I wish I had him as a kid. God bless them.
We had a fantastic experience with Dr. Hansford and his team! We were running a few minutes late and they were extremely accommodating and walked us back as soon as we arrived. Dr. Hansford was very friendly and explained everything thoroughly. He was flexible and patient with my 3 year old and 15 month old during their first ever dental visit. The welcoming atmosphere seems to be rare for a doctor’s office and that pleasantly surprised me. I am confident we have found a great doctor for our sons!
The doctor worked on 2 of my kids the Procedure went great on both of them and everything turned out great, he gave us a lot of info about Everything that was gonna go on with the procedure and that was a big help because that actually calmed me and my wife down because we were very nervous. Excellent workThank you..
Wonderful thank you. Our daughter needed so many teeth pulled. She wouldnt let any dentist get near her and by the time we found Dr. Hansford the infection was all the way through the teeth and into the gums and bones. We are grateful for this doctor. He did a safe sedation and my daughter doesnt remember her work at all.
Just had an excellent experience at Greenpoint Pediatric Dentistry! The front desk staff are nice, the assistants are thorough, and Dr. Hansford is kind and knowledgeable (feels like hes talking to you and not down at you). Itd been two years since Ive had a cleaning and I was considerably worried, but they made me feel at ease while also providing helpful tips to promote my oral health. Happy to be have this great practice so close to the Nassau G stop.
Me and my family love this place. We know what we owe before we go in, the wait isnt too long, and everybody is pretty nice. Thank God my kids dont have a bunch of cavities, so we dont have to sedate them. Im glad this office offers sedation though so there arent a lot of other crying kids. That happened at our old office when they took UFT and it scared my kids before they went back. Weve been here twice, the place is packed, and no crying. So far so good :)
Found this dentist on Zocdoc for my 7 year old and will continue to use them for her dental appointments. She needed extensive work and was able to be placed under general anesthesia (in office) 2 days later to complete her dental procedures. My daughter and I will definitely return due to their wonderful customer service, professionalism and job well done. Its clear that they love what they do!!!
Staff is very warm and professional and we were able to make prompt appointments. Hygenist did excellent cleanings. Anesthesiologist did a great job with my 2 teenage boys. Doctor could have given a little more graphic detail about teeth extraction prior to procedure. Autistic Sons recovered very well and the price is right. Will highly recommend dentist for special needs patients
We saw a lot of dentists who couldnt help us. my son is not a fan of the dentist so he wouldnt let them help. His cavities were getting bigger and then the gums got infected. we were referred to Dr. John and he did a great sedation. My son got his work done and doesnt remember anything. He asked Dr. John who took his teeth out after we went back to wait in the recovery room. He had no idea what had gone on after he drank the drink.
Amazing. We saw 2 dentists that could not do the work, and we were referred to Dr. Hansford. So great. The front desk was friendly. The assistants are kind, and Dr. Hansford is so great with the kids. We knew that during sedation she might still cry, but she didnt and we could hear Dr. Hansford singing to her and talking to her while he was working. We felt the care was compassionate and the sedation was safe. This office is amazing.
This was an excellent experience. Id been wanting some extensive cosmetic work done (redone actually; I wasnt thrilled with my old dentist).Dr. Hansford was a total professional: funny and nice and an expert with he dentistry. Im very happy with the results and the overall vibe of the place and the docs.
For the first 20 years of my life my uncle was the dentist who did my teeth. So naturally, when I moved away from my hometown, I was very nervous about having a new person work on my mouth. I am so happy I found Doctor Hansford! He is compassionate, attentive, and has a great sense of humor. He was not pushy about any treatment. They also administered the anesthesia very well and I felt perfectly normal when I woke up-- Just like I took a nap.He removed my 4 wisdom teeth ( and those of my boyfriends and our best friend). Some may find it funny that my whole friend group goes to the same dentist, but its because he is GREAT and I would recommend him to anyone. He has amazing bedside manner! A+++
We couldnt be happier! From the front desk to the doctors everyone is so kind and professional. We had a sedation appointment with Dr. Hansford. It was a scary, but necessary thing, and he answered all our questions and made us comfortable. Greenpoint is in good hands at Greenpoint Pediatric Dentistry.
My daughter ended up needing general anesthesia for a dental surgery. Dr. Hansford explained every step to me and walked me through the process until my daughter and I felt comfortable. He stayed with my daughter until she was fully aware of her surroundings and even walked us to our car! He was so professional, kind, and compassionate. The office staff was also wonderful! We received care at Dr. Bradleys office in Watkinsville GA. Thank you Dr. Hansford!
Great experience with Dr. Hansford and Dr. Jones. My son, who has special needs, had to have some dental work that he wouldnt be able to handle while awake. Dr. Hansford and Dr. Jones did such a good job explaining the whole process, what to expect, addressed any reservations I had about general anesthesia and put my fears at ease. My son got the work that he needed done, and done well, and was cared for so nicely from start to finish.
Everyone was super nice and I’m glad there was a tablet for my son to watch PJ mask on but I would have liked the office and rooms to look more child friendly with colors, fresh paint, and waiting area to be a little cleaner. But again everyone was super nice and helpful
The hygienists, assistants and doctors have amazing bedside manner! They explain things thoroughly and give you opportunities to ask many (and I mean MANY) questions! My 15m old was diagnosed with dental caries in his front two teeth and I was very nervous about having SDF applied. They initially gave me literature to read on the procedure he needed before making a decision. I appreciate not feeling pressured to make a decision right away. They were pleasant upon my return to the office and made this an easy and less anxiety ensuring experience for me and my son. I was able to schedule the procedure a day in advance and was seen in less than 10 minutes upon my arrival! Will definitely be sticking with them.

2022-05-04My husband and I were extremely nervous to put our 6-year-old son under for a dental procedure and requested a call from the anesthesiologist for after 6pm so we could both join the call. Our initial thoughts were that there was no way the doctor himself would call and there was absolutely no way any doctor’s office would reach out after 6pm. Dr. John reached out to us on a Friday night after 6 and took the time to walk us through the entire day of the procedure. He told us what to bring, how to prepare, risks involved, and the general what to expect. Dr. John was thorough, kind, and empathetic to our experience. He answered all our questions and genuinely thanked us for our concern. I am hopeful our son will not have to go under anesthesia again, but in that event, we would absolutely call on Dr. John.

2022-05-17I was extremely nervous for my son’s IV sedation to get his dental work done but Dr. Hansford and his team made my husband and I feel at from the time we made the appointment to the time my son’s procedure was done. Ms. Lisa at the front desk answered all of the questions I had about the sedation process and billing via email which were a lot lol and Dr. Hansford called a few days before the appt to introduce himself and walk my husband and I through the entire procedure, he was really kind! The day of the appt everyone was very nice and helpful. My son was hesitant to drink the Versed drink but it truly calmed him and helped him to forget the entire procedure! My son’s procedure 2 extractions and 6 filling was done fairly quick under IV sedation, there was no crying! During recovery Dr. Hansford checked in on us a few times to make sure my son was doing okay and to answer any questions we had about the recovery process.Getting you’re child sedated is never easy and can be quite scary but Dr. Hansford and his team made the process easy and comfortable so thank you! And my son doesn’t remember a thing!

2022-03-19We visited several offices. My daughter was too scared to even get x-rays, but we could see the cavities. Thankfully, our last pediatric dentist referred us to Dr. John. He was very informative, the office was nice, and my daughter was able to get all of her work done without being traumatized.

2022-07-08My son needed many extractions. He wouldnt let anyone work on him or let me brush so things got worse as we got referred to different dentists. Luckily, we got to this office and the dentist is also an anesthesiologist. He put my son to sleep and got it all done with no tears.

2022-08-21Hello, my 6 year old daughter had to undergo sedation for multiple issues with her teeth and I must tell you Dr. John and his team are the best. Dr. John is very knowledgeable and skilled doctor and I was confident in placing my daughter under his care. He is considerate enough to answer all of your questions without annoyance and I am very pleased and relieved with the care she received there. If your child needs sedation, please send them to Dr. John, you wont regret it.
