Whole Foods Market in other cities:
This is probably the nicest Whole Foods in all of NYC. I love walking on The Highline and going to this store. However, the cellular reception is the worst I’ve ever experienced. If you ever have a serious medical emergency in this store or any type of emergency or important phone call, you won’t be able to receive the call or dial out. This extends to using the Amazon Prime app, you have to sign onto their WIFI, which is also extremely shoddy and doesn’t work half the time near the express registers. So much for my 10% savings. And I think in a world where we’re overly connected, it’s okay to disconnect, but if you actually need to use your phone in this store good luck with that.
This is one of the nicest Whole Foods in the city, that is until the Madison Ave location opened up. I love coming here for lunch and sitting outside. I do find the layout is a bit awkward when it comes to how a person would actually do their grocery shopping. If you enter near the Penn Station side you enter in the produce section. To me that makes the most sense when it comes to how a grocery shopping trip should start. If you enter on the 10th Ave side, you enter near the seafood and meat/center aisle. My main gripe with this store is that the cellular reception is abysmal, which makes it difficult to scan my Amazon Prime Whole Foods QR code for the extra Prime discount and their WiFi doesnt always work well. It works better near the local checkout than the express. My one other suggestion is someone that works for Whole Foods global should go to Erewhon and see how prepared food is done. Whole Foods always has the same prepared food/salad bar selections and quite frankly for the price its not very good quality. Lots of canola oil.
A short walk from Penn Station (Moynahan Station) with a large selection of take out food and drinks. We stopped in for a meal before taking the train from Pennsylvania Station. Healthy choices and reasonable prices. Load your Whole Foods Amazon Shopping app for a discount code.
I like the layout of the store. It still feels new and fresh. I was pleased with the vegan selections. It’s nice to see the sunlight when shopping for groceries in my opinion. The far west side location means less shoppers and no long lines. The Hudson Yards Mall was not allowed to open when I visited Whole Foods. So I had to walk around the mall instead of taking the shortcut through the mall to reach the store for now.
My favorite wholefoods among allIts clean, and has a variety of exotic products other omwholefoods dont have. Also the customer service is much better than the wholefoods on 59th Street, Bryant Park and 23rd street.I didnt put 5 stars cuz the prices keep on Increasing
Immaculate “Manhattan West” location next to Hudson Yards, with a thoughtful layout and a great selection of all the things you can expect fromWhole Foods and more. What makes this location extra special are the speciality sections around each corner such as an acai bar, a beautiful plant section, coffee area with ample seating, a matchaful tea/coffee/ice cream stand, a gorgeous produce area, the hot food bar, amazon lockers, vertical farming, and a nice dining area. There’s also an easy self checkout area to minimize the pain of having to wait in long lines when you just have a few items you want to grab and go. The best Whole Foods in Manhattan, so far.
Update: No changes. Checkout continues to be unsafe.West checkout needs to be redesigned. Too small, understaffed, self checkout counters too close to each other. At least every other counter needs to be closed for safe distance. Customers on top of each other. Line needs to be controlled for distancing. Felt extremely unsafe.
Dogs in the store every day, which is unhygienic and there is a sign outside saying no pets other than service dogs. Delivery people are loud near dining area. The breakfast grill is missing bacon and the correct rolls frequently. Employees behind the breakfast grill are not the least bit friendly. The store itself is good, but they need to hire better people.
I stopped in while staying at The Pendry for a few days. I have some bad and some good to note. My visit was this past Friday, from about 10:00-11:00 a.m.The Good:• There is a coffee place inside called Grumpys Coffee that I would rate 20 stars. The guy was cool and friendly and made me the best darned coffee beverage I have ever had.• Their plants are gorgeous and the plant lady was awesome, helped me select 2 mini orchids and 2 decent-sized succulents. She really knows her stuff and is engaged and seems happy to share a bit of care info. The Bad:• The store layout is a bit weird• They have a self checkout area but its only for 10 to 15-ish items. Thats what the sign says, although I initially thought the sign applied to the express checkouts that had cashiers. There were a total of zero other customers in the area and I had literally 18 items. This young woman stands in front of me and makes an X with her arms and says you can only come through here if you have 15 items. I looked again at the sign and I thought well thats not what it says and theres no one else here. But what I said was Really? She said yes and referred to another check out area that was not visible. I said oh thats okay Ill just put some things back. She said but theyll help you and I said is there a self-checkout and she said no. I looked again at the zero customers around me and said thats okay Ill put some things back. She encouraged me to go to the main check outs but I really dont like the check out process with a person. I also thought 18 items was fine given that it says 15-ish. And I was amazed that they would rather me put it back all of this stuff, some of which came out of bins and such, and in the covid era where in New York people are still really funny about masks and such. This was even though I was in compliance with their sign, there was not a single customer around me, I could have sneezed all over everything, and they would lose probably $60 of sales.• After checking out I saw this pizza place inside I had put out fresh pizzasI asked the woman working there if they were selling it by the slice. She sounded like she hated me for asking when she replied yes. I said great could I have two slices of cheese pizza? She said no were not open yet. We dont open till 11. I said oh okay maybe Ill come back later today. She had clearly intended for me to wait, and she was very bristly when she said this, wouldnt even look up despite no real reason to be looking down. She looked surprised for me to have declined to wait. I checked my phone as I walked off and I saw why that was probably the case - it was one minute before 11. Id had no idea what time it was. She could have said sure and by the time she sliced the pies, which she had to do anyway, it would have been 11. There was no clear signage as to the time, so I hadnt known when theyd open. It was also close enough that a customer might just have a watch that was slightly off.I get how irritating customers can be when demanding things when youre not yet open or have just closed as I worked retail for years. But that level of hostility was really uncalled for. The passive-aggressive and unskillful way in which she interacted with me was also unnecessary.I dont imagine that a New York City store needs my little bit of money to be successful , but it left me feeling like their staff could use training and maybe theyre not treated very well if shes in that bad of a mood before the pizza stand was even open. If so, its a poor business practice
Great newly constructed location with plenty of fresh products. Prices can be a bit steep but the quality is always good. Parking is nearly impossible so plan on taking a taxi or paying for a parking lot. Location is right across from the Hudson Yards Mall which also is a newly constructed location featuring many stores and restaurants.
JP WAS ATTENTIVE AND GAVE customer service I was standing by flowers for 15 minutes and no one asked me for help as I trying to find someone to wrap the bouquet and help me he even almost wrapped it himself because no one came but the flower guy did come and was pleasant as well !
Intellectually incompetent sushi counter. Asked for a combo to be make with just one fish and not the other. And they said they couldn’t do it because they had no label for it. This is what happens when a corporation like Amazon takes over. There is no human decency left.
Great place. Pizza Station area sometimes rude workers, I order whole pizza twice, they end up saying they closing etc.or.they dont have dough. When I clearly see that not true. Sometimes say will take more than 30 min. When I order whole Pizza before took less than 10min. That was earlier in the year. So hopefully they have better staff on pizza Station.
I got horrendous food poisoning from the hot food bar here last night. I had their leftover beef stew and zucchini and some prep packages beets from love beets. Within 2 hrs I had the worst food poisoning I’ve had. In hindsight I’ve had an upset stomach after eating some of the other hot food vegetables. There is a poor selection at times and the staff isn’t super helpful in the prepared foods section. However the guys who work in the aisles are great and do their best to help you. The store is also very pretty.
Dont be fooled by nice looking. While this store has good food, its ridiculously understaffed. They have a huge line of registers but only one cashier. Not only that, but also the supervisor is absolutely neutral and needs to be taught how to work with clients. When she hears any request of the customers she appears to not care. I asked her to invite more people to the registers because huge line of people was served by one cashier only but she didnt respond on my request; neither she apologized. As I said good food, but terrible customer service. I have better service in literally any CVS
Beautiful store layout but the employees are absolutely horrible. I witnessed an altercation with a patron and employee from the meat department, which left a bad taste in my mouth. The customer merely asked for assistance and literally got reprimanded as if she were a child, no customer service etiquette here. Hire people that have a warm presence and not ones that are just there to monitor what time their shift ends. Happy holidays!
OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE. Very clean and organized store. Hot bar was very safe and clean. Very good food. Self check out was very smooth. I needed assistance from self check out hostess and she was so very helpful and professional. This was my first time visiting New York and I was impressed with how friendly and helpful staff were at this location. While leaving the store April 4, 2021 my bag broke and security was so nice to provide me with two additional bags. Staff at this location being so nice has made my visit that much better.
.This Whole Foods Market, just outside the Related Companies exclusive Hudson Yards is really something special..Appreciate the fact that two Self Check Out areas exist..Larger store means larger selection of many products..Going back again and again when Im in the area..
Its definitely expensive, but they have youre more unusual ingredients also. I go here more for the convenience then anything else. Their food court area has a lot of variety. One thing that is on the downside is they tend to be out of stock a lot but its not to say it doesnt get refilled, I guess a lot of people buy from here since theres so many new high rises in the area.
Im so thankful for the team here for going the extra mile to get me my purse back. I visited the city this past weekend for the day and stumbled into this whole foods before my bus was scheduled to leave for Philadelphia. As I got on the bus, I realized I didnt have my purse and that I left it at whole foods. I called and spoke with many helpful people to come up with a plan to give to get my purse back, since I was unable to return to the city. Julian, the shift manager, was kind enough to mail me my purse for no charge. So appreciative to everyone involved!
We typically have a good experience here; however, you could tell the Whole Foods staff shoppers were very rushed to complete their orders. The most bothersome and last one we encountered was the staff person who went to our cashier even though we had picked the shorter line. She could have at least acknowledged us but instead, ignored us and went to our register.
Conveniently located in Midtown. Prices have soar (post Pandemic). I only bought about 5 things and it was over $60. No bargains or sales here. There was no cashier when I was there, just self ck out. The staff was rather abrupt. As far as Whole Foods, I have been to larger and better stocked places.
This Whole Foods is ginormous, and very new. It opened in mid 2020. This is the least crowded and most well-stocked Whole Foods I have been to in NYC. Its got several entrances and exits. It also has the best hot bar I have seen in any NYC Whole Foods. I also believe the staff is incredibly helpful. I often need help reaching things, and theyre always willing to help. Also has an Amazon Locker for Amazon deliveries, and you can process returns in person here at the Customer Service.
They are really helpful but very big place, remember ask for directions if you are looking for something that you want to buy. Their foods are very healthy and top notch, 1st class. There are various ways to pay by having someone to help you pay or quick pay by yourself by computer.
The best of the best. Come and see it by yourself, and is even better with an skating ring just right there in front of it.( if you entering on 9th ave. If you want to capture beautiful pictures-here is Citroprenia also in front of Whole Food Market place. And they are more and more things to do and see in this erea.
I love this place, especially the customer service that comes along with shopping, i shop there pretty often, it’s this one lady that always helps me when I can’t find a item, I believe her name is Yvette, I believe she’s an Amazon shopper that works for Whole Foods, she’s awesome 👏 she have the biggest smile and she knows the store very well, so if you looking for help finding an item, look for Yvette she’s the best, great communication skills, great customer service skills, not only that, I came for one item and left out with some fresh bread that she recommended! Thanks Yvette for good shopping experiences!
Fairly big, new WF, lots of dining options, not all of which appear to be open now. Really nice outdoor space. But theres a confusing layout; Ive been there a handful of times and I still cant find anything! Theres also at least 3 different entrances and 2 check out areas. If I end up at the self-checkout, my inept scanning makes my shopping trip even longer, added on to the lost wandering...not very efficient.
Clean, large, well stocked store at Hudson Yards. Probably wiser to use the self-checkout as many of the cashiers are unwelcoming and in some cases just plain rude. There are a few exceptions - but who needs such unpleasantness when shopping? Better to replace all the cashiers with self-checkout at this store. It is is odd - because the experience at the 7th Avenue 24th Street store in Manhattan is quite different.
Store was very clean and not crowded at all, thats where the compliments end unfortunately. Layout of the store was confusing. I asked an employees where the registers were and if it wasnt for another employee behind a counter I wouldnt have known since she completely passed me before answering. When I got to the register I wasnt asked if I had a membership so I had to tell her I did before paying. As this being one of the newer locations I had hoped for a better experience.
Huge facilities a d if that impresses you then great... As for myself I was not impressed. It was big, empty, cold, and everyone is busy. But only one person. A young guy who was helpful. He actually led the way and he is the reason for the third star.Wholefoods and all large retailers would be advised to somehow find ways to turn a dance hall into a VIP room. No matter the situation people who shop in person want an experience.
Ice cream freezers are set way lower than ideal, which makes all the pints incredibly freezer burnt, coated in thick ice and solid as a brick! If Im paying $8.99 per pint I want ice cream I wont have to throw away! Esp since I have to travel to THIS location in particular to buy certain brands rarely sold elsewhere in the city. Second time Ive gone here and seen this. Also, Matchabar charged me $12 for a pint of chocolate ice cream, calling it hojicha. Was dark brown and tasted 100% of chocolate... even had the words CACAO written on it! Cant even refund at another WF... Gotta go back to their counter.
I came to this wholefood location to see if they may have lions mane mushrooms in stock as the one I frequent never does. The store is clean and I loved the layout of the produce section, however when I noticed the checkout was upstairs I tried to get 1 of the staffs attention and had to do it twice because as close as I was to him he acted as if he didnt hear me...so I ask again, excuse me, where can I find the elevator?. He replied we dont have an elevator, I asked so, you only have an escalator? He said YES. Concerned about how Id get my bags downstairs, I said ok, thank you and walked away. I asked another staff memeber who directed me to where I could find the elevator. I was able to take it down with my $150 groceries I had just purchased. Im not sure if the gentleman misinformed me because Im black but I highly doubt he wouldve given the same reply to someone else!
Finally open! It’s a massive Whole Foods with everything you’d ever want. I came on here to review the pizza joint they have inside.... Its amazing. I had a slice of the prosciutto and pear Pizza. It’s easily one of the best non pizzeria slices I’ve ever had. I should have taken a picture but I was hungry 🤷♂️🤦♂️
Self-check out you are in your own.. i did some shopping today and had a horrible experienceSelf check out will be helpful if the person that suppose to assist you if you have some problems actually assists you. Specially with items where the bar code numbers are not legible. Have to take all my shopping and wait for a human- cashierThe area for self check out is so narrow and the Sargent “screaming next “ is rude and unprofessional. Not going back to this store
Great fresh and new products. HOWEVER, The excess of shoppers is awful. They go before you. Speed by you, talk to each other in the middle of aisles. Just way too many. Very annoying that I have to wait for them when I got to the item first. Plus everything is $2 more than everywhere else yet 3 blocks down lives hundreds of homeless in Chelsea park and poor people in the projects and penn south..
I want thank Victor from the grocery dept for his kind and professional manner in handling my request for availability and placing on hold a product. He had no idea I needed it as a part of my surgery recovery. He put the product on hold after researching stock and it’s availability ..Thank you so much Victor from a grateful customer ..whose recovery is improved by your support and your effort in going the extra mile ...
Great selection of hot and grab-and-go food for lunchtime, with plenty of space dedicated to the needs of surrounding office workers. Open even during the pandemic.Excellent selection of fresh produce, and reasonable prices. Slightly smaller selection of non-perishable foods than a suburban WF, but hey, this is Manhattan.
Finally a Whole Foods close to south tip of Hells Kitchen and I no longer have to walk to Columbus Circle. This is a shiny new store with great selection of produce and products. The layout and flow of the store is quite confusing though. I can never leave from where I entered after checking out!
I’ve died and gone to Whole Foods heaven!!!! Ok, I’ve lived in the Hudson Yards neighborhood since 2014 and prior to Whole Foods we pretty much had Ideal Market on 9th Avenue as our only grocery store option....Now don’t get me wrong Ideal Market was picking up it’s freshness game but there were still those days when I’d pick up a piece of produce thinking it was fresh only to discover it had mold after my 10 minute walk home but I ended up keeping it because I didn’t want to have to schlep back to replace 1 bad avocado. Needless to say, I probably wasted a lot of money buying bad produce. But this Whole Foods is on another level, I always feared shopping at Whole Foods in the past because I thought it was an expensive, pretentious, yuppie store that only carried organic international brands.....But boy was I ever wrong! Whole Food has it’s own generic brand called 365 that’s so reasonably priced that I’ve been saving on my weekly grocery bill and the quality is top notch! Plus you can use your Amazon Prime for an additional 10% off all of the other fancy stuff and the produce is soooo fresh! I’m now a certified Whole Foods Super Fan! I love going there even if it’s just for a snack and a matcha tea...It’s Super Clean and the staff is so professional and you can tell they take pride in their jobs.....And the Cheese, did I mention the Cheese! So many options of Brie! ...The 2nd level also has a modern outdoor seating space facing the Highline and Mall and it’s literally a 2 minute walk from my apartment. So Google Community, I can’t say it any louder than all caps.....THE HUDSON YARDS WHOLE FOODS IS THE SPOT!!!
Great stuff, Ridiculous prices! Great seafood but $30-40 for scallops?! At the end of the day, rather than lower the price or donated to a food bank, they just throw it all out. They wont even let the employees buy it at a discount and take it home. They just throw it out. Its really a sin. The waste!
As a vegan, there are so many options here in the bakery department and throughout their entire store as opposed to other locations - Including the newer location of Ja Ja Ja mexican restaurant, which you can now eat from here instead of going to Carmine st or the Lower East side location - Havent tried it out here but hoping standards are as high throughout their company. I will say checkout is a bit crowded and confusing and no one was available to help when I needed it.
Guys, check out the expiration date and your receipt in the store! Unfortunately, Ive bought several expired products and was twice dissapointed when I checked out my receipts. In additiona, I dont understand why Whole Foods cakes are so unhealthy! Natural flavors, canola, sunflower or palm oil, food starch modified! I spent 20 minutes trying to find a good one. Nope! No one seemed healthy enough to buy it. Honestly, I fought better about Whole Foods :(
Liked the new location, they have a day shop downstairs for grab and go items and a matcha shop. Upstairs is the main area freshly designed with grumpy coffee, wine and cocktail bars, sushi, mexican fast food, socialy distanced self checkout and a lovely terrace with tables overlooking among other things 10th ave and the High Line Spur.

2022-04-21We found this Whole Foods location after visiting The Vessel at Hudson Yards and trying out the deli section. The food was of satisfactory quality and reasonably priced. The market is well organized and offers a wide variety of local beers.

2022-03-04A big and bright grocery store. The store is well stocked and well organized. There is a large selection of fresh produce. A lot of healthy options. The employee at the cash counter was friendly.

2022-06-30Got some food at the hot bar. Lots of selections you can choose from. The picture came out to be $14 which isn’t that bad given I packed a lot of heavy protein foods and a samosa. The stir fried station is better in my opinion but takes five min so don’t recommend if you’re in a rush!

2021-12-25A really clean and organized supermarket and deli. They have ready to eat cold and hot foods. Things are quite overpriced. Only a certain few items are at a fair price.

2022-02-01This Whole Foods seems to have more prepared food than most of the other location. There also seems to be more chairs and table available here too.

2022-05-11For all kind of grocery and Deli food. Seating inside available, restroom 🚻 for the customer available. Store time 7 am to 11 pm everyday. Staff are helpful, customer service 5 out of 5. Hot bar is very good, price bit high. Staffs and customer and store is very busy together. Building is made of glass, looks beautiful. But store is only two floors.

2022-07-01I bought the Cooked Peeled Shrimp yesterday (6/30) from the Hudson Yards location and it made my family severely sick. I don’t know how this was still sold at the location. It had a weird odor but considering I just bought it I didn’t realize it was actually old or not safely stored. I do not recommend buying raw sea food products here.I had heard a few rumors about the hot meals and cleanliness about this location. Shop with caution!

2022-05-28Clean, rodents free and best customer service ever.My favorite wholefoods in nyc. Other wholefoods employees should have a week end training at 33rd Street wholefoods so they could learn how to treat customers. When I ask for something at 33rd wholefood, the employee will literally walk me to the aisle and show me where the item I am looking for is. At other wholefoods, the employee will either look confused or direct you to the wrong aisle. All that to say, I hope that 33rd Street wholefoods will always provide this high quality service. Its much appreciated

2022-03-27We stumbled upon this WF location after visiting nearby Hudson Yards and went straight to the deli. Food was satisfying and priced reasonably. The place is tidy and well organized overall, and the staff was pleasant and helpful.
