Grounded catered our backyard wedding in September, and Linda really came to the rescue! We were very late planners compared to most couples, so she was very kind in even agreeing to accommodate us despite her schedule already being packed for the season. We were able to work with her on the menu until we got it perfectly right for our rustic outdoor grilling vibes, while staying within our budget. Her staff was very professional and easy to work with on the day of the wedding, arriving on time and checking in during set up to make sure we were happy with everything. They even packed up the leftover food for us so nothing went to waste. Our guests loved the food, and we would be happy to work with Linda for any future events.
Linda is an amazing chef and event organizer. She goes above and beyond to make your event absolutely perfect in every way! I cant recommend her enough. Her food and sense of beauty and design are exceptional. The best of the Hudson Valley and Beyond!
I tried Grounded at a party on the Hudson. The menu was catered around lamb on a spit Lebanese style, which was spectacular. I kept going back for more.
By far, the best catering services in the Hudson Valley. We used them for our event in Phoenicia and they put together an incredibly spread including fresh delicious salads made with local farm stand ingredients, farm raised meats, and the incredibly memorable appetizers. Oh those risotto balls, my family is still talking about those. From the moment we started our booking to the end of the event, Linda was so delightful to work with. She’s incredibly passionate about food, and her presentation and the food itself is just delicious. Wish we could add an extra star for all the Yum!
Linda was absolutely amazing to work with! My wife and I loved our wedding cake which was hazelnut with macerated raspberries inside and a very light plain butter cream on top. So good all of our guests raved about it! We definitely devoured the leftovers the next morning! Thank you, Linda :)
Linda has catered several events for me, and each one has been phenomenal. She is passionate about the food she serves and works with local farms and vendors to create a delicious meal that your guests will revel at. One dish that really stand out for me was a short ribs plate with mashed potatoes and this decadent dark sauce. I still have dreams about it, and all the guests at that event were in awe. Linda’s knowledge of local ingredients and how to incorporate them into any meal. She served a farm stand fresh peach, tomatoes and mozzarella salad that seemed so simple and yet so incredible, I’ve often attempted to duplicate it at home. I appreciate her attention to detail, her love of preparing amazing meals and just working with her is dreamy. Can’t recommend Grounded highly enough. If you want the true farm to table experience with really hearty good food, Grounded is who you have to call. Yum.

Amazing taste, great presentation, full adaptability to what you may want -if you know it, and if you don t know it yet, she will take the time to guide you through a culinary journey to help you choose the menu and options reflecting your wishes, wedding style and personality. I can tel you that Linda did not just cater impeccably for us, she gave a gourmet soul to our wedding-and ad a French woman, it was basically number 1 requirement for our wedding, outside finding my soulmate first ;-)-I highly recommend her, it takes 5 minutes with her to know she is an extraordinary and committed chef!
Ah! Where do I even begin?! Linda was an absolute angel to work with. My husband, J, and I were looking for a simple rustic cake BUT with a really special taste and until this day, we still dream of having our cake one more time. We got a hazelnut cake with macerated raspberries in the middle and a very light plain butter cream over it (aka HEAVENLY). Linda and her team at Grounded are wonderful. As a local I have been a huge fan for many years. I was recently at one of her events and she always continues to amaze me with every dish and dessert she creates. Linda and her dedication, professionalism, and passion are truly unmatched. This rating is well earned and certainly deserved.
Wow, simply just wow. I have been lucky enough to have Linda’s food more than once and simply it just knocks your socks off. The amount of professionalism and personal care is just outstanding compared to any other business out there.Just when you thought you had an awesome meal she comes back with another, equally if not better meal. I mean the team even gets me to love fish which shouldn’t be possible. I look forward to the next time arrange for a party to have her and her team back. My mouth is watering already.
Linda catered our tiny Covid wedding on August 18 and blew the doors off with both food and service! We and our guests loved all of: A delicious poached salmon, perfectly cooked flank steak with Chimichurri, roasted vegetables with fennel, a delightful tomato/watermelon salad, a perfect cheese plate, focaccia....and our amazing wedding cake (chocolate with chocolate mousse and a butter cream frosting.) We will go with Grounded for any and all future catering needs.
So bad! Do not work with Linda! I was the maid of honor and instead of getting ready we spent 3 hours setting the entire wedding up because Linda and her staff never showed up claiming she messed up the date! To top it off she came HOURS late (way after the guests) and acted like she saved the day. The food was terrible and not what my sister ordered. I felt so bad. The servers were suppose to arrive at 1 and at 5 Linda was on the phone with people begging them to come help. Food was cold and not edible. When we confronted her she refused to give her any money back and acted like she did nothing wrong. Unbelievable the level of unprofessionalism. Shame on her!
We hired Grounded for an impromptu Birthday party and were very pleased with the outcome. Linda was overly accommodating, responsive, and served delicious to boot! She truly made this a special experience. Thank you Grounded, well be back!
Grounded Catering was amazing yesterday at a wedding I attended in Kingston, N.Y. the crab cakes, gnocchi and heirloom tomato salad were my favorites. I also loved the cheese spread and the cucumber sandwiches. The staff was friendly and the service was professional. I recommend them.
Warning! Do not use grounded! Linda ruined my wedding day. Staff was suppose to arrive at 1pm. At 2pm I called her asking where they were and she said “oh Kim your wedding is scheduled for TOMORROW”. Every email had the correct date in it, she completely messed up and showed no remorse! Literally the most important part of our wedding is getting the day right. I instantly burst into tears, her staff was hired to set everything up. At that point nothing was set up. I had to set everything up myself instead of getting ready on my wedding day. I also had to ask guest as they were arriving to help me bring stuff down, it was so embarrassing. Linda showed up at 430! The time the ceremony was suppose to start. Her staff didn’t show up until 5-6pm. It was horrible. All the food was cold and thrown together because she wasn’t prepared. My whole family felt so bad for me, it was terrible.The worst part is when we asked for a refund she had the nerve to tell me grounded fully fulfilled their obligations. ABSURD! I am still in shock from dealing with Linda and her level of unprofessionalism. NEVER AGAIN!
So many different appetizers and cheeses were presented last weekend by Grounded Catering Company after cocktails we enjoy delicious dinners individually served to all of us. I had the grilled filet mignon with horseradish mashed potatoes and gravy and asparagus. The cakes and cupcakes were wonderful!
I had the pleasure of working a wedding with Grounded NY in Kingston last summer and it was wonderful. The food was delicious and the servers were really nice and friendly. They served the tables family style, which I love as it adds more community between the guests, and everyone enjoyed themselves! Cant beat that its organic/local/sustainable too!
Grounded sits in a class of its own. Refined, local food that finds the exquisite balance of a dish delivered to the table by a loved one and what your mouth may experience while 5 star dining. Linda is professional, talented and an artist at heart. Her culinary skills and creative spirit is exactly what we needed for our event. Hire Grounded and do not look back!
Months later and I’m still so upset at how Linda ruined my wedding. She literally had my wedding scheduled for the wrong day. When she showed up she cooked all the wrong food, none of it was what I ordered. She was understaffed (just by herself! 2 people showed up almost halfway through the wedding to serve) we did everything ourselves! The worst part is she took ZERO responsibility and refused to give us a dollar back. So so so upset.
I called Grounded during a pandemic asking for a very specific and elaborate cupcake order with about 48 hours notice. I expected a no, but was met with a positive can do attitude.They came thru with the cutest most delicious doggy cupcakes ever🖤 I can’t recommend them enough. Call Grounded:)
I’ve worked in events for 20+ years, and Grounded has been above and beyond any other caterers. Linda and her team are always professional and courteous, making any event all the more amazing. And the detail!!! You won’t be disappointed. I always recommend Grounded.
What a cake! We wanted something very special for a 50th birthday party and gave some description about the honoree. Linda made something so splendid and delicious. *And* she took extra steps to communicate and figure out pick up when our first plan fell through.
Linda did such an amazing job on our daughter’s wedding cake that we hired her to cater a dinner party at our home & it was amazing!! My mouth is watering just thinking about it! Not only did the dinner turn out delicious but the desserts were insane!
Finally, a good coffee shop in Kingstons historic waterfront district! Espresso drinks are top notch as is brewed coffee. Pastries are made fresh by Linda, who has excelled as a pastry chef for more than a decade including working at The Bear Cafe (one of the Hudson Valleys top restaurants (Woodstock)). Full breakfast and lunch menu with fresh local ingredients (organic when possible/feasible). I especially like the eggs with smoked turkey hash. So much food for $11!!NOTE: Parking on Grounded side of street is metered....across the street is not!
I have ordered 3 cakes in the last month and they were all magnificent - each a creation of art. We are so lucky to have Linda close to us!
Grounded ruined our wedding. She didn’t show up when she was suppose to and said she thought our wedding was Sunday the 1st not August 31st. We had multiple emails confirming the date and every email was subjected “8/31 event”. She finally showed up hours late with horrible food that was rushed and thrown together. Many dishes were incorrect and not what we ordered because she rushed to give us something. Because of her EXTREME tardiness everything was ruined and ran an hour and a half late.Worst thing is she is ignoring all of our emails and refusing to apologise or refund us any money. Looks like things will have to be handled in a legal matter. Shame on her, she should not be in this business.
Linda could not have made my event any better. Wow. The food was to die for! I will def. be using them again. Thank you for making my special event even more special.
While Linda is known for her beautiful wedding cakes, I also love her appetizers, crab cakes, Samosas, polenta cakes...definately recommend!
I used to go to the cafe all the time. I had them cater an event for me and I couldn’t have been happier. I would absolutely recommend them.

2021-12-04Linda and her team did an excellent job catering our wedding. Linda can make the best version of anything you can think of and day-of execution was flawless. Our wedding was sophisticated but warm and organic and she and her staff completely fit with that vibe. Not only was the food incredible but Linda and her team are so, so nice. We keep getting comments from our guests on how amazing the food and staff were. It was important for us to do business with vendors we liked on a personal level that could live up to our high expectations on deliverables and Linda and her team did not disappoint. Highly recommend!

2021-09-14Linda and the whole Grounded staff were incredible to work with! We reached out to Linda about 1 month before the wedding and she made the process so easy and dealt with several changes we made just a few weeks out. On the day of the wedding, everyone loved getting to know Linda and watching her cooking process. Her staff also went above and beyond. Most importantly, the food was absolutely delicious. The presentation was also gorgeous. All of our guests were raving about the food! Highly recommend working with Grounded!

2022-06-16Linda catered my sister and now sister-in-law[s wedding - she was someone we found through the Knot, and what I like to believe, FATE! Linda listened and made what we dreamt of entirely come to life and more. She was punctual, communicative, passionate, unique, seasonable, reliable, and FUN! All of our requests and hopes came to fruition and really made my familys special day that much more memorable. 2020-01-13I am a wedding and event planner and have worked with Linda (owner and Chef at Grounded) and she is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. She is definitely my go-to caterer for events for multiple reasons. The quality of her food is outstanding. She is extremely creative and will develop menus that are very different than your standard event/wedding caterer. She loves to forage and grow her own vegetables and herbs. She uses all local ingredients and supports local farms. Not only is the quality of her food incredible, but her level of service is top-notch. She is extremely responsive and her on-site team is very experienced. My clients have always loved her and working with her. Shes very outgoing, funny and driven! She never drops the ball on anything and always arrives on-site at the scheduled time and always produces amazing work. She is constantly looking for ways to be even more creative and I cant wait to see what she comes up with in 2020! I look forward to working with her more this year!

2021-08-30Linda and the entire grounded team were fantastic. Our original caterer bailed 5 days before our wedding and Linda swooped in and literally saved us. She worked with us until 9PM the Monday before our wedding to get the menu set and also helped get pricing to a comfortable spot. The food was delicious and we received so many compliments (especially on the pulled pork tacos). Her team was extremely professional and VERY hard workers. I cant thank her and the whole team enough.

2022-06-16We came across Grounded when looking and comparing different caterers for our wedding. We needed someone that would cater to the Poughkeepsie area, someone that would work with our budget and of course someone that would cater not only to our guests but also my very vegan wife. We ultimately settled on Grounded because of they’re creative menu; Their menu had a pop that others lacked, such as the crustini topped with chocolate spread and chorizo (a personal favorite) or the successful vegan cardamom cake. Grounded exceeded our expectation every step of the way. From the amazing dinner at the menu tasting, to the quality service every couple wishes for during they’re wedding day! Cant say enough about the owner, Linda. She is so talented, experienced, and a hard worker. Not only for what we payed her to do but also things like making sure we, the couple, ate during our own wedding. We are so thankful, and we fully recommend Grounded to anyone looking for a professional caterer……….Ps. Ask Linda about her mushrooms (thank me later)

2020-09-11Working with Linda from Grounded was amazing from the very start. We knew right away during our cake tasting that we had found the right place; the cakes are absolutely delicious, and Linda is so kind, personable, helpful, and flexible! We went with a pumpkin flavored cake for our October 2019 wedding and it was an absolute hit. We couldn’t have imagined anything better. Thank you for everything, Grounded!

2020-08-28I want to thank Linda owner of GroundedNY catering for the beautiful appetizers mains, side dishes and the dearest chocolate cake ever. My daughter’s graduation party was unforgettable as we enjoyed such amazingly prepared foods. It was the Item of conversation. Her platters of Steak and vegetables were made of fresh farm and foraged ingredients, we all felt tenderly cared for. The cake was absolutely stunning with Petelos Flowers and foraged berries artfully sprawled on the hand turned frosting. It was the best decision I made. Her timing and portions were extremely on point. Every detail was carefully planned. I would recommend her to anyone planning an event.

We had a last minute change of plans, like every other COVID bride, and Linda and her team were so helpful in figuring out what we could afford. She put together a beautiful menu that our guests are still talking about. Linda and her team took care of everything the day of, I didnt get one call or text. 2020-10-01Linda and her staff truly came through for my wife and I after the caterer we talked to for months before our wedding dropped the ball. She worked with us and helped us make sure we had the perfect party. The food was absolutely incredible, we could not have been happier choosing Grounded for our wedding. Linda and her staff even made sure our dog was fed and had water throughout the night, not something we were expecting but just an example of how thoughtful they are.
