Booked an appointment online for a best blow dry in Midtown NYC the day before a big interview. Rebecca was the best!! She did my hair and makeup for my interview. I received so many compliments on her work and would def use her again!! They were on time, very professional and Im completely satisfied.
I have a long bob hair style and really wanted a braided updo. Something that I did not think was possible, Rita gave me best blowout and styled my hair with a nice loose up do, If youre looking to get your hair or makeup done in Manhattan. Then GS Blowdry bar NYC is DEFINITELY the best!! Their entire staff is amazing at what they do.. BEST HAIR SALON IN THE WHOLE MIDTOWN! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

I absolutely loved my blowout that I received from Alisa. I have very thick course curly hair that is to the middle of my back and most stylist have a very difficult time blowing my hair out. Not Alisa! While washing my hair she asked me a few questions to see what kind of blowout I wanted & then she gave me a great head massage while washing my hair and then she rocked my blowout.
My two bridesmaids, mother, I received Updo’s, best blowouts and makeup for my wedding. The team did an outstanding job!!. Talia picked a great eye shadow that complemented my eye color and made my eyes really pop. Danielle did an updo on my hair that I had no idea I could have. My hair and make up looked perfect for my wedding and looked awesome in all the pictures. I received so may compliments and would recommend this service to anyone. Thank you
My friend and I came in from out of town and had blow outs by the owner, Gabriel, and Gia. He was very responsive in scheduling and very friendly when we arrived. The service was very reasonably priced, the salon was relaxing and clean, and our hair looked amazing! I will definitely use this salon when I come back into town and I highly recommend it!
GS Blowdry Bar did phenomenal job for my wedding and reception makeup and hairstyles. The team were amazing! Every girl in the wedding looked beyond amazing. We all looked natural but had enough makeup for the pictures. My bridal party and I looked gorgeous! I am so happy with how perfect our hair and makeup turned out. They were also so fun to be around, they helped us all relax and just enjoy the entire day. All staff was very friendly and welcoming. I recommend GS Blowdry Bar, for make-up and hairstyles. The customer service was amazing Abby was super nice and did a wonderful up do for my prom. I also got my makeup by Sahi, which stayed on for hours. At GS BlowDry Bar they have the best stylists and makeup artist!! Thank you AGAIN and AGAIN for lots of laughs and THE BEST Up-Do & Makeup!!

I was in town for my Babymoon and planned to do my Maternity shoot in New York I reached out the GS Blowdrybar to have my Up-Do and Makeup done as they seem to have reasonable prices and great location as well as prolonged business hours! Veronica is amazing and the whole group there is so welcoming! Ive never gotten so many lovely compliments. She was very easy to chat to too and tailored my UpDo & Makeup around the rest of my look. I was very pleased with my results for my Babymoon. Id definitely recommend Veronica For your hair make up services. Thank you made my day perfection!
I picked this place from the Time Out list of best hairdressers in Midtown, Manhattan I was in NYC celebrating my 40th birthday. Since its a milestone celebration, i decided to have my hair and makeup done for my celebration. I researched several places then i came across GS BLOWRY BAR Sahi was the makeup artist and Erica that blowout and styled my hair with a nice loose up do. The rest of the team was amazing and I would definitely recommend and book them again for any upcoming event!
I have never looked so amazing in my life!! Sahi and Erika are incredibly talented and such a pleasure to work with! I recently visited the GS Makeup Bar before a formal event in Midtown. Sensing that I was stressed due to a tight timeline, Sahi jumped in to complete my makeup. She went above and beyond and worked a miracle in my transformation, Erika did an updo on my hair that I had no idea I could have. I highly recommend GS you cant get a better team.

They are very talented hair and makeup artist. They did my mom, aunt, sisters and my hair & makeup for my sisters wedding and we were all in love!! They made us all feel very beautiful. Plus, our Up-Do’s Makeup lasted all night! Highly recommended :)
Stephanie did an awesome job blowing out my very curly hair. She took time to ask good questions about whether my hair gets frizzy, holds a curl once straightened..etc. to make sure the end result was what I wanted and would last.

I got the best blowout from Latoya and cannot recommend this place more. They were very responsive and accommodating to my email requesting an appointment the next day and took me on time. Ive been getting my hair blown out for just about 10 years (usually by Dry Bar) and this is BY FAR was the best one yet. Sabina was so talented and very calming. The store owner couldnt have been nicer too.My hair never holds well (its silky and thick) and the product they used wasnt sticky (super light) and my hair held for two days. The style was PERFECT. I loved the volume and loose waves - I felt like I was heading to the VS fashion show! Thanks so much GS!
Visiting NYC from Texas and decided to stop in on a Wednesday morning for a blow out. I did not have an appointment scheduled but they worked me in. The staff was very kind and accommodating. Marisol listened to what I wanted and delivered. I loved my style. She was also incredibly kind. If I didnt live so far away I would certainly become a regular client.

The guy who did my hair was really nice and friendly, but one of the worst blowouts I’ve had, my hair oily at the top, dry at the bottom and choppy, won’t be coming here again but service was great

I have super long thick hair and they definitly impressed me and i loved my beach waves,super fun and cool staff and the music was awesome. From the second I walked in, the staff was super friendly and accommodating. I absolutely LOVED my blowout! They even offer make up! Im feel so amazing going here and confident about my choice. The receptionist was also very sweet and gave me excellent directions to the salon and where to park. I was stunned on how they were still able to take me within minutes of me walking in, considering they were super busy.They did an amazing job and gave me exactly what I was looking for! Great first experience defiantly will return for all other events.
The experience a job it’s so unprofessional unorganized and they are not licensed. No licensed you can’t touch the hair. They never clean the salon
Last week I went to GS Blow Dry bar for the first time. The staff was very friendly and attentive- I arrived right on time and did not have to wait as usually happens in many other salons. I have very curly hair, but the blowout looked incredible and it is still holding up! What a fantastic job- I will definitely be going back!
This was my first time getting a blowout and it was a pretty fun experience. The salon is in a apartment building, but wasnt too hard to find. As soon as I checked in, they took me to get my hair washed and then blow-dried. I recently got my hair colored so he used a color protecting shampoo and conditioner. Once my blow-dry was done, he used another product to help keep the color vibrant. I enjoyed the overall experience. It was relaxing and didnt take too long.
I took a friend of mine here as a surprise. Service was great and my stylist took her time talking to me about what I wanted.. after great shampoo by her assistance, She kept putting stuff in my hair that smelled AWESOME. Morrocan Oil is pretty great. anyway, my friend was coiffed by another guy stylist that curled her very long and thick hair in like 10 minutes. She was in heaven and it looked awesome. My style looked great. It is the 3rd day now, and my hair is still smelling great and the curls and waves are perfect. I am considering going there once a week,
It was my first time, and I loved my experience at GS Blow Dry Bar! Last minute plans came up to go out after work but my hair looked like a disaster! The night before I had showered and put my hair in a bun before bed. I was not ready to go out! Lol I called GS Dry Bar and got a last minute appointment. It was so easy and from the moment I arrived they were so friendly and accommodating! Everyone was so nice! I asked for a simple straight look and Stephanie did an amazing job! I loved my hair, and it held up for about four days. I was in and out in 30 minutes and for $35, who cant love that!!!? :) I will definitely be back to see Stephanie! :) I highly recommend it to anyone!
I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this salon. I made appointments at the salon for my sisters bachelorette party. We were a large group of women and about 10 or 11 of us were getting our hair done for the nights festivities. From the moment i first emailed the salon I always felt as if we were a priority. Every question I asked was quickly responded to. When we arrived at the salon the hostess was wonderful greeted us with a warm smile and offered us water as we were getting ready for our appointments. Since we were a large group we basically took over the salon for about 2 hours or so. Every stylist and person that we met that worked there was so nice and professional. I truly hope that they next time I am in Manhattan for something special I can get an appointment again.
Overall, awesome! I came a few minutes early and they took me right away. My stylist was a magician and blow dried my extremely curly hair straight with a beautiful curl at the bottom with just a blow dryer (everyone always makes final touches with a flat iron). It was amazing. The only thing I was a little blah about was that he mentioned my hair was dry so I should get a treatment, but he really should have just added some conditioner or oil to smooth it out so that the blow out looked perfect. Otherwise, I was extremely happy. Thank you so much, GS!
Came here for the reviews and close proximity to my hotel. I paid $80 for a basic blowout and tip. The hairstylist burned my face with the curling iron, I still have the burn on my face to this day. She also forced a brush through my wet curly hair right after washing that my hair strands snapped! I’ve never had a hairstylist do this before or keep the hot blow dryer on my scalp longer than necessary that I had to pull away multiple times and tell her that it hurt. I really regret tipping 20% and want to warn others to AVOID THIS PLACE, GO ELSEWHERE!
Best blow dry ever!! My hair was washed and blow dried in less than 30 min. Ive never seen my hair so smooth, soft and shiny. My naturally curly hair didnt even need a straightening iron! Amazing! Ill definitely be going back as a regular customer. :)
Excellent service throughout. Once I entered the salon I was warmly greeted. I proceeded to check-in! I waited no more than 5 minutes until my stylist finished with another client. She took me to her station and we talked about what I would get done. She proceeded to walk me back to the wash room which was amazing!! I could just have my hair washed all day long here.I requested a smooth blow out and that is what I got. I dont like looking at myself on the mirror as my hair gets done so I usually immerse myself in a magazine. Luckily the station I was at had a TV right in front, so I was able to see part of a fashion runway while my hair got done. This made the whole process go a lot faster.All in all it was great hair service. I would definitely go there again
As a girl who has naturally Curly hair you can just imagine how many attempts at blowing straight my hair Ive had. I was convinced no one in the world could do my hair justice. But going to GS Blow-Dry Bar Salon has made me a believer in a salon again. The staff was so sweet and the place super cute and trendy. I love the concept of a salon that focuses on blow outs, styling, and makeup. It was really cool seeing the blow dryers floating above each chair and seeing the mirrors behind the seats. Instead of focusing on the process, I sat back and enjoyed the chick flick on one of the flat screens. I was able to enjoy the end product for three days!
I have long, very thick, curly hair. I called for an appointment, and they got me in 30 minutes later. The place is adorable, the staff is inviting and friendly, and the service was beyond expectations. I had a very pleasant experience. But the best part was that they actually listened to what I wanted and had the best person available do it for me. My hair came out exactly the way I was hopping. Love my Blowout, almost a week now & still looking awesome!!!!

Wow! What can I say! I have been in NYC for nearly two years now. I have looked high and low for a salon that can do a good blowout at a reasonable price. I have finally found that place! I had a wonderful experience at GS Blow Dry. Everyone was professional and friendly. My stylist, Simona, did an excellent job with my natural hair. She patiently detangled, flat-ironed, and curled my hair. I would definitely recommend GS Blow Dry!
I was visiting NYC this past week and I stayed at the Plaza Hotel. I was here with a few families and we were all curious as to where we could possibly go and have an excellent (and affordable) blowout! Our kind concierge recommended GS Blow Dry Bar - conveniently across the road from our hotel, and I couldnt have been more pleased. Greeted with smiling faces from the receptionist! Amazing blow dry salon! Hair comes out perfect, the stylists and everyone who works there are incredibly nice, and the products they use are awesome! My hair comes out perfect! Lets not forget the fact that it lasted for daaaaaaays. OBSESSED! The location is perfect. I will be back!!!!
I cant believe I got my hair blown out at this place.I spent more money than I was told and after ONE hour my curls went back to straight and my roots werent even either. Instead of smooth it looks frizzy from the rough shampoo they gave me. Tried calling them several times to fix their mistake but they refused to.Definitely not worth your money. Save it and go somewhere else for a much better blown out.
I can not thank GS Blowdry bar enough for my fabulous look! From the second I walked in, I was attended to. The receptionist was so sweet and really made me feel welcomed which is refreshing compared to other salons. The girl who was going to do my hair was ready when I arrived which was such a relief since I was on a time crunch. After presenting some options to me, we both agreed that waves would be perfect. She took the time to really wash my hair and their shampoo and conditioner smelled AMAZINGGGGG. Im so used to getting my hair pulled during a blow dry and for once there was no pulling! After blowing out my hair, she finished my waves with a big curling iron and topped it off with a hairspray that was fantastic. All in all my experience was phenomenal and I can not wait to return. I LOVED this place! I had a friends wedding this past weekend and it was my frist time going to Gabriels blow out salon. I went with a friend of mine and we both loved not only our final results, but the people and vibe of the place. I highly recommend trying it out whether you need your hair done for a special event, or just dont have time to do it before work or going out to dinner, etc. I cant wait to go back and try out something new! ;)
I contacted GS Blow Dry Bar when I was in NYC for an important event. They replied right away and offered to fit me in at my convenience. The salon was beautiful and serene, and the stylist did a fantastic job on my hair. I left feeling pampered and confident. Highly recommended!
Scheduled a blow dry at the last minute while traveling, and I was super impressed, this is the best my hair has ever looked!Great choice for an affordable quick style. I will definitely come back next time Im in town. The salon is in Suite 1106 (the signs on the door is small).

So i happy I found this place (thanks to good reviews online!). I got a blow out done for a holiday party, and it came out AMAZING. Kelly was my stylist and she executed my request perfectly! This is a no-frills place. Nothing fancy, reasonably priced and exceptional service! This will definitely be my go-to spot for blow outs going forward.
Very disappointing. I showed a picture of how I wanted my hair and continually stressed “height and fullness”. I walked out with flat hair and little twisty curls at the bottom of my shoulder length hair. The picture I showed and how I asked to have my hair styled was completely ignored. Big waste of money. I could have done a better job. I had to go back to the hotel and re-blow dry and curl my hair attempting to fix what I walked out with. Also had my makeup done....terrible. I went back to the hotel and washed my face and started over. Complete waste of time and money.I have blowouts done 2x a month...without a doubt this was the WORST experience.
Walked for many blocks in the rain from my hotel. Website clearly said walk-ins welcome. When I arrived the 2 girls at the counter said sorry. No walk ins. The place was empty too. Stay away if you value your time. Very unprofessional

As I visit NY for the second time, I found GA Blowout on a whim, desiring a style that I didn’t have to do myself. The staff were exceptionally friendly, so very patient and quick to accommodate. If you’re in NY visiting or happen to be a native, this place is a must try!! Prices were very reasonable and affordable! Thank you for making me pretty and giving me a style that rocked my hair!!
Service was wonderful, everyone was sweet and inviting. It took me a second to find the location as signage on the door was limited. thankfully the sound of the blow-dryers were helpful to find my way. My hair was on point and done in under an hour, which is a big deal for someone with long hair like myself! definitely will be back in the future.
My usual stylist at another salon had a family emergency, so I had to scramble to find a new place to get a blowout. I was so happy when google found. Place 5 mins from my hotel. Couldn’t have been happier with the friendliness of the staff and how amazing my hair turned out! Thank you again!
Terrible work!I needed a last minute appointment and couldn’t get one at drybar. I came in and asked for Hollywood glam look and showed a picture of it. I was also told the style will take 35 min.An hour later, I was walking out of the place with 1 little hand done twist on my head( not even professionally looking) that FELL APART as I walked into my Uber downstairs. My hair was completely straight!!!! As it always is naturally. Complete waste of time!!!!
As a mom of a one year old boy, I have a very busy day and I dont have time to do my hair so it usually ends up in a bun. Every once in a while, when I need a break I go to get a great blow-out for some alone time. The moment I enter the salon I feel relaxed because of the general ambience and also because everyone is so nice and welcoming. I also get to watch a Runway Fashion Show AND end up with beautiful hair!That is exactly what i need to keep my sanity!
I have very curly hair and blow drying my hair is no easy task and sometimes can take up to 2 hours. Gabriel did it in 25 minutes and it was fabulous and straight like I like it. I will definitely be coming back!
GS salon is convenently located in an office building on the NE corner of 57th St. ( slight confusion as the Hilton Club diagonally across the street has the same address). The salon is decorated in a sleek contemporary design that is spotless. My experience could not have been better, Gabriel was professional, friendly and fast. He suggested a volume blowout with curls on the ends for my long straight hair, which turned out beautifully. Thank you I will be returning soon !
Came here for a blowout for my Real Estate headshots and all I can say is I am OBSESSED! Paula is AMAZING and did a beautiful job with my hair! It was even 90 degrees and super humid outside and my hair still looked spectacular! HIGHLY recommend coming here if you want your hair to look fabulous!
Found this place through reviews while visiting New York. Believe the hype. Fast. Affordable. Friendly and accommodating. Sabina rocked. I called at the last minute. They fit me in and even with the wait Sabina managed a wash, bang trim and adorable blowout on my long and super thick hair at lightning speed. Even with wait I was in and out in under an hour. So great.
I visited GS before an event later in the evening. My hair held all day (and night)! They did a great job and were incredibly professional and efficient. I was seen right away and the appointment itself took about 45 minutes. Id very much recommend.
I had an appointment time of 2:30. I checked in at 2:22. I was greeted by a very warm and friendly receptionist, who offered me a beverage. She informed me that my stylist was just finishing up and it shouldn’t be too long. At 2:54 I was still waiting. 30 minuets of my time wasted! If they were running behind, they should have said so! I ended up leaving and was seen at another Blowdry Bar near by ( Dreamdry on Columbus) I was seen within 2 minuets if walking in, and was given a gorgeous blowout!!
DO NOT USE THIS SALON! The woman who runs this salon should be ashamed! I arranged an appointment here 2 weeks before i arrived in New York from England. I explained what i wanted and that it was a special evening with my husband. We turned up to the salon which is in an apartment type building 15 minutes before the appointment as suggested. Bare in mind we had cut our day short to make sure we were on time. After finding water refils outside the door I feared the worse, and i was right. We knocked on the door waited 15 minutes phoned her and I.emailed her to no response we decided to leave and desperately tried to find a salon who might fit me in. Luckily we did and i would highly recommend Federico salon on 5th avenue. We only just made it to our reservation as a result of this womans lack of decency to clients.

GS Blow Dry Bar was great! The service and my blow dry were top notch! Ask for Jennifer,she was very nice and gave me a great blow out. I booked through the internet and was surprised that it was on the 11th floor of an office building. Its not fancy but clean and comfortable and the staff was nice.I will definitely be back! I had a red carpet Tony Awards ceremony in Radio City Music Hall in New York City, and looked up some salons to get my hair done and came upon GS Salon hair and makeup so I booked with them thinking it would make my day a lot less stressful than running around the strip. And yes, I was so right. Olga came to my hotel, got there a little early even to set up, did my hair exactly like the pictures I showed her and did my makeup beautifully without making me look overdone. She was super friendly and supportive of me as I fretted about my event. Thank you GS blowdry bar!!!!!

2022-06-16We were able to get the two BEST makeup and hair artists they have! It was without a doubt the best blow dry Ive ever had. I have long, thick hair and curls dont usually last very long due to the weight of my hair. This time was an exception. My appointment was first thing in the morning and it still looked great when I was heading home after a night out. Best experience! They are the best makeup artist and hair stylist I ever meet love

2022-06-20Wow. Where to begin with my total satisfaction and complete happiness with GS specifically Rita and Toni! There were unbelievable. My best friend and I were celebrating her birthday and both made us feel fabulous. I will call them again when Im in Manhattan, Midtown and I will recommend GS to anyone. Prices are great for the service. We were just blown away! Love you Rita and Toni!! We had a lovely experience from the process of booking the appointment to the time we walked out the door.

And I have nothing but good things to say about GS Blow Dry Bar NYC and the MAGIC that they do every single time. I have really long, extremely THICK hair that most salons CANNOT do anything with, I can only go to people that know my hair and have been doing it for years, until I found GS Blow Dry Bar NYC and I look like a star every single time. Very clean salon, very professional and friendly stylists and very reasonable prices. They have such a great service & nice time in the salon, They have great customer service and even though I was late they still made time for me and made me feel very welcomed. Stylists were professional, kind, and had an amazing talent to style my hair exactly the way I wanted. Perfect hair & FUN environment!!!

2022-05-26Great, fast, friendly service. Honestly, the best salon experience ever - treated like royalty! The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating but most importantly, My blow out lasted me 4 days in the rainy NY weather and I have never been more impressed. Will return every time Im in town! Such a great blow out! And an amazing price!

2022-03-17I had a photo shoot 2 weeks ago. I must thank GS stylist and makeup artist both!! I got a lot of compliments! Julie, I have to say, you are the best, Jeff. I have tried so many salons over the years but have not been happy with the results. Its really the first time that I am very happy with the outcome. Both hair & makeup is a real pro. They are also very kind and nice. -They have great special deals

2022-02-13This place is so efficient. I go in for regular blow drys and I always leave happy. From the hair wash to the blow dry the people working here are such experts. It gets done well all the time and its enjoyable. The products they use are great and the atmosphere is great too. Everything was stunning and it couldnt have been a better experience. Definitely highly recommended!!

2022-06-06Toni nailed my BLOWOUT!!! I love my hair! Exactly what I wanted and he totally got it! The best salon! I love the set up, very friendly hairdressers especially Toni is the best stylist. I have spent so much on my hair ..going to well known stylists in London UK in NYC and California but have yet to walk out of a salon as happy as I did today. A real artist and so grateful! Finally found a great stylist..thank you Toni! You wont regret coming here. He does a very great job!!

2022-06-29I am not from NY, so I was hesitant at first to book an appointment for blowouts with someone who isnt used to my hair, but, these girls did and amazing job! Our hair turned out great! Most of us had blow outs with beach waves done, a few added a braid. We all felt very sexy and our evening was a blast. Thank you

2022-05-03Wow, I am in love with this place!I was in town for a wedding had my hair and makeup done. They were super nice and accommodating, did exactly what I needed, and my hair and makeup looked fabulous afterwards. This place has great prices, appointments easy to make, wonderful staff and overall, just great service! I would definitely come back if I lived here.
