Guadalajara Mexican Restaurant in other cities:
Good Food but really bad service. This is why business goes out of business. The waiter came over to take our order and that was after 10 minutes of being sitting, and his attitude was not pleasant he took my order and it seems like he didnt want to be bother and when I asked about what type of drinks they have (regular drinks not alcohol) and he answered me with an attitude, he took our order then he left and never came back, then another waiter brought our food and I asked for a refill to that waiter and he also didnt came back so I never got my refill. So long story short, the waiters suck and the manager doesnt even seem to care. They never came around to ask if everything was good and if we needed anything else. I hope the owners see this comment and do an improvement in hiring really good waiters but more important people that really wants to work without an attitude.
The best, authentic tacos i tasted in my life OMG.We order to pick up and most of the places send you the tacos already done so when you get home the shell is soggy and not tasty at all.Guadalajara packed everything in diferent container wich make the experience so much better.if you pass around ossining stop by and try
Food is overpriced and lacking in quality and flavor.Owner thinks its ok to berate a reviewer when they criticize his bad food by blaming it on the economy and inflation. Worry about delivering a good product from your kitchen and making your customers happy and stop complaining about things you cant control. We have been going to your restaurant for 20 years. We wont be back!
Excellent Mexican food. Best in the Tarrytown / Sleep Hollow area by far. Great Margaritas. The place would look nicer if the lights were left a little lower as the place felt very brightly lit and service was not as quick as it should have been but what matters most of course is the food and again it is excellent. We cant wait to go back.
Terrible customer service!!! If you are young (20-25) they dont treat you with the same respect as they treat adults. The waiter looked at me and my friends in a contemptuous way, not to mention that when he brought the glasses with water and the straws, he threw them on the table without respect. Overall his attitude and the service provided by him was disrespectful towards us.And what bothers me the most is that my friends, there were three of us and I were being very respectful towards the man and instead of feeling comfortable he made us feel bad and we couldnt enjoy the food because he was always starting at us.This was the first and the last time I will go to this restaurant.PD: the food was overpriced!!! and not as tasty as you would expect.
I came here today for lunch with the kiddo and it was a very nice time. I’ve gone here several times in the past and I will continue to keep coming. It’s very kid friendly, my little one LOVES watching them prepare the fresh Guacamole right in front of you. The staff is very careful and attentive, always refilling our beverages and double checking that our order is correct and satisfying. By far one of the best authentic Mexican restaurants around here that the whole family can enjoy!
Food very good. Still some of the best Mexican around. They are not crowded during any peak hours from what I have seen. They are also keeping the tables far apart. Service was a little slower than usual, but understandable given the economic hardships weve all been going through. Definitely recommend!
Great margaritas, mediocre food and terrible service. Food is very overpriced for the quality and portions. The waiter was inattentive and rude - we were sitting at the table for an hour and a half before we were able to get his attention. We ordered the tacos (22$ for three, bland) and chicken enchiladas, which had bones in the shredded meat.
The service was great but I ordered cheese dip and was brought shredded cheese and was was quickly informed that this was all they had. I ordered steak, shrimp and chicken fajitas with my steak med. The steak had burnt spots all over it and very well which for the most part was uneatable with the shrimp kinda soft and mushy in the middle and like plastic on the outside, when I brought it to the attention of the waiter,he kinda chuckled and walked away. With a 49 dollar price tag(food and soft drink) not to mention that I was told by the staff that it was MY JOB to divide the check that they were not able to do it??? I would not recommend this restaurant if it was the last one on earth.
We ate at Guadalajara for the first time last night. My opinions are mixed. Its a great-looking place with the potential to be much better than what we experienced.I got a combination dinner that includes a beef taco and chicken burrito. The taco was very good, but the burrito was mostly a big blob of cheese with just a few tiny shreds of chicken and not much else. Thats not a chicken burrito, and it was terrible. My girlfriend got the Mole Poblano, which she orders at most Mexican restaurants that we visit. I usually try it too, and we agree that the sauce here was too dry and much less flavorful than what weve had at other restaurants.Good chips. Good salsa. Our servers seemed well-intentioned, but werent around our table much. They looked very busy though, as if they had too many tables. Perhaps they were understaffed last night. We would try it again, but wed make some different menu choices and hope for better service.
Staff here are very friendly and attentive. Food is excellent and authentic. Had an awesome quesadilla with grilled steak that was cooked medium rare just right. They were generous with the guacamole and didn’t rush is at all. It was a fantastic leisurely Sunday lunch. Their chips and salsa are delicious and come with the meal. Portions are large so definitely plan for healthy sized leftovers !
Horrible customer service. Manager is extremely rude. I see they think its ok to berate their customers about their experiences. Save the pity of being a small business when you show such disrespect to the people that put money in your pocket. Learn some customer service, Im sure that is a major piece!
Very small portions with low quality food and bad service. We had two of the saddest salads ever. A tablespoon of cold beans, a room temperature chopped chicken breast and an ounce of shredded lettuce does not make a salad. Asked for the pico on the side and never came. The other salad had room temperature chicken and no avocado like listed. We were asked if we would like more chips and salsa and we said yes please but they never came. The margaritas are delicious. Our first time and last time here.
Lunch options on Googlemaps search brought me here after a walk at Rockefeller Preserve...resulting in the best fish tacos of all times....only thing missing were lime wedges and all I had to do was ask. Servers were fantastic. Nice ambiance. Well-made margarita. Delicious salsa. What more is there to want? Look forward to my next visit!
Not sure if the chef was out sick or maybe they sold the place but this is not the same place weve come to know over the past 20 years. The prices shot up, the quality of the food plummeted and the serving sizes were significantly reduced. They forgot to put cheese in my quesadilla, how is that possible. I mean its called a CHEESE quesadilla. What a bummer. Who knows maybe it was just va real bad day.
The food is dry the service was mediocre at the very best.Got a bonus in my chimichanga - a big fat toothpick inside. They still charged me. I didn’t expect to eat for free but really? Offer something. No way. No how. No more !!!!Save your money. And possibly a tooth. The good part was they put cilantro in the guacamole ! Oh that’s right , they’re supposed too. Then oh well. !!!!
Really good authentic Mexican food. Definitely make sure to get the guacamole prepared tableside! The servers are really nice and helpful and everything weve ever had has been delicious. It can get a bit loud during busy hours (even more so when they have a mariachi band...) and if you have to wait to be seated, there isnt really a good place to stand (options are the bar or the hallway where they bring food through...both high traffic areas and awkward to wait around). There are two small parking lots so it can be tough if one is full and you have to pull back out onto busy Route 9 to get to the other one. Still worth it for delicious Mexican food!
Dont know how to give star to this. So will stay in middle and 3 stars. The service and ambience are good. Servers are very attentive but not in your face all the time type. The foods are sub par. Not a fan of foods.New updated review: Beware everybody. they will add tips on your bill later. I paid the bill with my card and left 18% tips in cash. I also put a note in tip section saying given cash. But they went ahead and added $6 to the bill. I freaking left $9. This is totally unacceptable. Check your statement later.
I placed order online. Evidentially they are not good at online. Supposed to acknowledge order with an email and a call to get your credit card. Save yourself a lot of messing about. Just call them. They are often pretty busy so be patient. Sometimes they won’t take your order because they are too busy so have a plan B restaurant.
I ate here a few times. Had mixed results during my first two times here. The salsa was quite tasty and the chimichangas with steak was quite good. The third time I ate there, I got a hair in my food and that pretty much sealed the deal. I would need a substantial amount of time to clear my mind of this place before I would try it again. Server seemed to act as though she was doing me a favor by removing my entree from the bill. I was in a good mood, otherwise I would have just refused to pay for anything at all.
Got takeout from here for chicken nachos and tamales. It was absolutely inedible. Chicken on nachos was burnt and the tamales were gummy in the middle and rubber at the ends. The restaurant claimed they never had a complaint before, therefore I must be wrong.Even if the food was edible they charged $15 for chicken nachos that had 11 chips with chicken and $17 for tamales less than 4” long. There were tortilla chips longer than these tamales. Restaurant wouldn’t resend food and take this awful order back, nor would they simply apologize for this order. They refused to even consider they could be wrong. I am appalled.
I went here with a group after going for a walk on the nearby aquaduct trails. I had a bit of a mixed experience, the food was good, the service left a something to be desired. We arrived after our hike and wanted to relax and order drinks for a bit before ordering food. There server came over about every two minutes to see if we were ready to order food, he kept doing this after explaining to him several times that we are going to order we just want to have a few drinks first. It got quite annoying.
THE BEST FROZEN MARGARITAS IN THE U.S.Fall 2018. I have been going to Guadalajara since we moved to Westchester County in 2003. Their food is good, the prepared guacamole is fabulous. Theres a nice view out the southern room with good windows during daylight and dusk hours. But far and away my favorite item is their standard frozen margarita that tastes marvelous and has a terrific kick. Weve asked for their recipe, but its apparently still secret. With two of these, you should be thinking designated driver. I have had swell frozen margaritas from New York City, New Mexico, and Southern California for years (I have lived in all three), but Guadalajaras are hands down the best. The only reason I give them a 4 not a 5, is because they are a little pricey. But if you feel like splurging and want a really decent frozen margarita, go there.
Wasnt crazy about the pricing and the menu. My personal opinion, it was a bit pricey for your standard Mexican cuisine. Nothing sood out as a specialty of the house. The service was ok. I am in no hurry to go back. By no means was it an unpleasant experience, it was just average. For the pricing and appearance of the restaurant, was expecting a little more. We were there on a Saturday afternoon around 4.
Here in Westchester this is one of the finest restaurants. I would give it a ten plus if I could. The food is delicious and served as such. The waiters and waitresses are wonderful. The atmosphere is inviting. This is a place you can keep going back to and enjoying each and every time 🥰🥑🌮🍨🍷
Horrible service...the manager was very unprofessional and rudeI had a food allergy and still got charged and she said word for word thats not her problem I spent over $300 in the restaurant I think a understanding of a food allergy for 1 meal should be acceptableIts not about the money..its the principle of being professional in the food industryHIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED
Ive eaten here several times and the food is ok. But, my last time there, I found a piece of metal ( perhaps from a can or something that dropped accidentally) in my chicken fajitas. When I pointed this out I was asked if I wanted something else. Quite frankly, I had lost my appetite and didnt exactly trust the cleanliness of the food. So I didnt ask for something else but I didnt eat the food either. When I got the bill, I was charged for the meal. Definitely not smart business. I wont be back.
Service was poor, no free drink refills on tea or cola, ants climbing around on sugar packets and holder. Food was served cold and the waiter had an attitude. Decor was okay but we could have done without them patching the holes in the wall while we were eating. Prices seemed high for the quality of food served. Also $2.55 for a smallish glass of tea or cola?
The food was excellent, and the service provided by Pablo Campus as well.BUT one of the waiters , by the name of( Andres ) . Had a negative attitude. I went with my family & the server gave us unkind gestures , specially upon us ordering dessert.I assumed our table was needed for another party , but that is no excuse for the bad service . This is the first time I feel discriminated in a Mexican restaurant & I happen to be Mexican as well !Not looking forward to a future visit .
I like to call it “Home of the $10 Taco.” When I asked about the portion (one $10 taco for a kid) I was told “This is not Taco Bell it’s Quality.” I actually ordered the dinner tacos ($19) and they were no different than any other Mexican restaurant. Still store bought shell with a spoon of ground beef. Not bad tasting just very poor value. 18% gratuity added.
As a visiting Texan and big fan of Tex-Mex, I have to give Guadalajara a seal of approval. Their food was excellent, although not quite in a true Tex-Mex Texas style, but was still excellent with a great fresh taste. The guacamole was outstanding and a big plus as well. Would definitely recommend and would return in the future.
Food was good but we ordered a bottle of Pinot Grigio. Price on the menu was $30 and later on the bill we got charged $35. Asking why, the waiter told us they were out of the Pinot Grigio from the menu. So we got another one but they neglected to tell us beforehand that this one is $5 more and we had to pay that. Im outraged and will never set foot in there. Getting skrewed like that is really despicable! So if you go there check your bill carefully.
I took a group of 4 there for dinner last night 7/30-16 and the food was good. However, our waiter was very unfriendly. When we did not want any alcoholic drinks he gave us an attitude, he said oh boy and rolled his eyes. The service went down hill from there. Through his comments about my parties dinner selections and his body language, it was obvious that he felt serving us was a waste of his time. He never once returned to check if we needed anything. I flagged him down and ask for a dessert menu, after which he came back and handed me a check. Guess he wanted us to leave. No worries, he wont have to serve us again.
Only i give this one start because the new manager try to make a better Bussinnes! But when we asking for a margarita with casa noble tequila when the tequila price is only a $50 bottle his charge $20 dollars for each margarita and pay $3 dollars more for the Ice frozen and $9 extra for the tequila and $16 for margarita so nothing is make sense! We visiting this place for a 22years so we are feeling unhappy now!! They dont care a old coustumers!!!
Warm atmosphere with fantastic food. Starting from the made to order guacamole, to the enchiladas covered with Oaxacan mole. Not to mention the exceptional Carnitas and Birrias Tacos. Finished with a massive dessert platter that tilted the table. Simply delicious. I can’t wait to go back!
We stopped in for a quick bits since we were in the neighborhood. It seems like they have been here forever, we have known about them for years. The ambiance is wonderfully aged Mexican Hacienda-ish.We normally have an appetizer but the Taco Chips and Salsa was so big it spoiled our appetitesTwo tostadas with shrimp marinated in lime juice. Served on a bed of lettuce, tomatoes & onions topped with white cheese & avocado. Served with white rice & beans, was very tasty but had pieces of Shrimp not whole Shrimp and seemed a little skimpy.Shrimp with gourmet light creamy Ajillo sauce. Served with sautéed spinach, asparagus & white rice was very good. All in all a pleasant meal, but a little skimpy on substance.
Over priced low quality Mexican food. Plus they charged 2.50 for a tiny side of sour cream! Really? I had to ask for more tomato sauce due to there only being a tiny bit on the middle of the burrito, which was horrible and took them 5 mins to bring it to me. I ordered the combination #3 which also came with a chicken tostada and chili relleno, none of it was satisfying. The table side gauc was mediocre, needed more lime juice and a touch of salt. Service wasnt good either. Being a culinary graduate I pay attention to small detail and I know what good food is and you need to be getting what youre paying for. I would not recommend this place at all.
Piggy-Backing off of what Ninos Koussa said, the decor and ambiance of the restaurant gave the impression of 5 star, authentic Mexican cuisine.. it was anything but. The slow service, cold/bland food, and poor quality food really took away from what I hoped to be a pleasurable experience. Taco Bell has better food than this restaurant. Please do yourself a favor and eat somewhere else.
Worst Mexican food Ive ever had. I love authentic Mexican and even tex mex food but this was microwaved sliced cheese quesadillas and canned refried beans for $17. Everything we ordered was obviously pulled out a frozen bag. The guacamole was the only thing that was decent and they charged $5 for an extra half an avocado. Maybe the people who think its good have a limited selection of Mexican food so think this is good. This was a shame to real Mexican food.
All I wanted was some cheese with my fajitas. Was told I couldnt substitute lettuce guac and pico for a small side of cheese. I even asked the waiter for just a small side of cheese and it never came. Portion was not that great and over all the food was OK at best and the parking lot is a total cluster.. Very disappointed over all in my experience.
M my favorite go to spot for 100% authentic Mexican food. I love the staff, the chefs, the owner! Thabk you for everything you do. All you hard work is appreciated. I love your savory, spicey and authentic mexican dishes from Chile Releano to Simple Tacos. Every time, you are my first choice. And your soup keeps me healthy during winter!thank you!
Enrique Rodridguez was the first to welcome me into Guadalajara and took care of me above and beyond any expectations. After such a rough day and strange day, my experience at Guadalajara was exactly what I needed.Dessert - Rollito Fantistico was recommended to me and it was indeed fantastic. It was a strawberry treat of deliciousness that I wish I had more of.Oscar was the chef and it was the best dishes of deliciousness Ive had in a long time. From Tennessee to New Mexico his salsa was the best I ever had. No comparisonThe Gentleman, Jesus, who made my greatly needed margarita made it with Hornitos after I asked for his recommendation. He did not disappoint-it was exactly what I needed after such a strange and long day. DeliciousI recommend Guadalajara to anyone and during my visit I discovered that the owner has three other establishments, one in Connecticut called the Rivera Maya, which I will hopefully find on my route to Rhode Island.Austin who is the go to guy at Guadalajara was exceptionally kind and spent time with me going over the history of some of the decor which I found historically intriguingI recommend this restaurant for anyone who is looking for a good meal and a friendly environment.
Guadaljara is a great restaurant with good fresh food. The interiors are warm and very interesting, detailed wood work and great art work. With a wood burning fireplace and mariachi night, its atmosphere is really lovely. The servers are prompt and very courteous, but there is a bit of a language barrier you have to work with, please do not mistake it for rudeness. If you are looking for regular great and quick tex-mex with standard prices, this may not be what you are looking for.
Do not support this restaurant! ! I witnessed them turn away usa veterans. Men who fought for our country. Men who allow them to own a restaurant in this country. They were turned away because they had service dogs. It is illegal to turn anyone away with a service dog.. but to have such disgusting disrespect for the men who fight for all of us... its appalling and so unfathomable!! Please do not support such a disgusting ,dishonorable establishment!!
This place prepares you for what you hope to be a good journey into the Mexican cuisine but unfortunately it lacks the ability to finish it for you. The appetizers are as authentic as they can ever get especially with their fresh guacamole and margaritas but the menu lacks what makes us all run toward food trucks or get lost in El Paso searching for Tacos. Taquitos el pastor de pollo sounded very promising but lacked on the authenticity deliverance. If youre looking for some drinks and snacks then please look no further, but if youre looking for authentic tacos and that flavor of Mexico then you should continue searching.
The food is not bad but the service lousy I dont want to rate it not even a star but I had to give it a star as my comment can be seen it which out there lets say for example 6 people got there at 6:30 they was attended to more than me and my family some of that food came shortly after r not a good place

2021-08-28Oh my goodness! We came in here as a random pit stop and we were completely blown away by the authenticity of this place. You tasted it within the food and the drinks were superb! I didn’t have a chance to take any pictures of our meals but, all I know is that we came in, sat down and dived in.Amazing service, quality food 10/10

2022-05-09Great !! Its the real thing. Last time I ate there the Salsa was VERY watery and thin. It has been completely changed and is now fantastic (like the rest of the food). Well worth the trip.

2022-05-31We found a nail in a salad. We told and showed it to our waiter. He took the plate to show it to his boss. They offered to replace the dish at no cost but doubted it was a nail… We opted to not order a new dish and basically could not finish our dinner. It ruined the atmosphere. Not sure we will ever go back.

2022-06-19Always delicious, good portion sizes and great prices. My favorites here are the drinks and the handmade guacamole customized tableside. This is your perfect Mexican restaurant with both classic american mexican choices and some more authentic mexican options.

2021-07-26We went on a busy Friday night and the big parking lot is super convenient to even come with a bigger party. Even tho we didn’t make reservations they welcomed us warmly and made sure we have a good seating for all of us. Everybody was very friendly and kind and our waiter was the best - he made sure we were happy at all times the whole evening. My personal favorite are the frozen margaritas - together with the homemade salsa/ guacamole and nachos as appetizers. The food was fresh and delicious!! we will definitely coming back!
